  1. Bingo. Dan is a super suckhole of neediness. If Boston Rob had played with him he would have stroked his ego and made him feel special and listened to. That he was important and calling the shots, No matter what one thinks of Boston Rob, he always knew that he puts his own personality on the back burner and you stroke and sooth everybody else for the ultimate goal. Make them feel special and important. That is exactly how you treat a blowhard like Dan. Look at how Rob got Philip to be a good soldier, Same exact thing. It is just Mike was a bit too honest in that respect and not playing the social game on that level. Not sure if Mike even thinks like that either. Any of the prior girls who were great with the social game would have had him wrapped around their fingers. Parvarti for one.
  2. I think that it was all part of his act. Crystal's shouted voting at tribal is a classic, I think that he thought that he was doing something unique.
  3. I REALLY hate to say this but Dan reminds me of the "Cowboy chef" Lenny that was on The Next Food Network Star (or whatever the hell it is called now). Similar body type and face, and very similar in what they say about women and extreme lack of judgment about what is appropriate. Lenny won and then disappeared after saying awful, awful (rapey) stuff about another popular female food network star on that network. We can only hope that Dan goes away that completely too. The photos that I found online of Dan suggest to me that he probably toned down his personality on Survivor. Which is why he made the statements about how he should have been MORE of a villian and he played "too nice" lol
  4. Wow, look at the most recent press release I stumbled upon from CBS! I know the cropping is horrific, but I just couldn't resist. It really is Dan, from Twitter.
  5. Hee, it's classic No MA'AM thinking right there (from Married with Children) -National Organization of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood.
  6. I was wondering about that too and maybe the statements made it really obvious who won? I have to say, I wanted Mike to win, but the editing made me think that Carolyn had it in the bag based on the jury comments and that Mike had (based on the comments) screwed the social aspects so much that he lost. Perhaps, the statements showed Mike killing it and the editors believed that it would have ruined the count at tribal? Or they ran out of time, or they just plum forgot! ;)
  7. I actually thought that Mike calculated this as a strategic ploy. In my view, it took both of them forever because they had never started a fire the entire time there. Meaning, that other people were doing the work of getting fire and starting fires. I thought that perhaps it was a subtle dig at saying, "Hey, there two never really helped with the one most important aspect of tribal life". For myself, it took them so long, and I started to think, there is no way that i would vote for either or these two because they didn't do anything around camp! I liked Jenn's big yawn though.
  8. As much as I enjoyed Shane and his Blackberry, the reason that I did not vote for him was because he just seemed much too erratic and really on that edge where it was not funny to watch after a certain point. I really cannot imagine what it was like in person (well actually I can, I have worked with patients like this-they put everyone on edge). It reminded me of when Brandon Hantz was in his second season. To me (as a psych professional) that we were seeing pathology (whatever it could be) and that was upsetting and disturbing to watch. Shane continually says that he will kill people if they cross him and there is a bit of an edge to it that makes my radar go up. (e.g., Dan saying that he wanted to kill Shirin for being annoying was completely different than the intonation and the way Shane would say it). In my recollection there have been at least 5 - 10 people that I really thought should have been pulled from the game based on signs of psychological distress. Brandon and Shane were two of those in my view.
  9. I think that CBS wants to be on time tonight, because it is David Letterman's final show tonight. I would guess that they want it to start on time.
  10. I think that Will's comment about Shirin and "no soul" was about the fact that she is Muslim right? They didn't even want to touch that. Rodney should not have gotten a cake. It is reinforcing behavior that we want to extinguish! Do not reward it Jeff!
  11. Well, if Jeff goes at Dan like this, then he better do it to Will regarding Shirin.
  12. I wonder if he has vocal nodes or some type of issue. He should really get it checked out. Hoarseness can be a sign of tiredness, allergies, lesions, laryngitis, acid reflux, smoking, trauma to voice box, etc... I used to be a singer and would sound like that when I abused my voice, so he really should get it checked out.
  13. Dead fish- Eyes glazed over HaHa! I want Mike to win, but I don't know anymore. Again, massively delusional, bitter jury.
  14. Bitter, bitter jury. Mike should win and I don't think that he will because these guys all wanted their egos stroked and they are forgetting about the outwit, outplay thing.
  15. Yeah, I don't get it. Why have the eyebrows done in a color so dark? If she really wanted a painted on look, why not a light brown or something that would be closer to her skin tone. Jet black is just so wrong for her coloring. She will regret it someday for sure. She is a natural blonde, I think that she is very pretty and likely could model, but not with those whack eyebrows. And it cannot be said enough, STFU Death Stare Dan!!!!
  16. OMG, I predict TEARS from Death Stare Dan during final tribal!! TEARS!
  17. Leprechaun Death Stare Dan can just STFU and stop with casting shade and giving everyone the stink eye too! I don't get voting off Sierra. Why was Carolyn NOT targeted?
  18. Ditto regarding the episode, but I thought that it was because I was doing grading and not paying attention enough. I thought that George's food was poisoned or something of that nature and that was the reason that he was hallucinating. Does anyone know if George really was as self-conflicted like this? I know that Lincoln struggled mightily with engaging in the civil war and after his son died he was very depressed. Edited to add: I saw a recent episode of Brad Meltzer's Lost Histroy (he tries to find or shed light on American artifacts that have been stolen or lost) anyway, a set of Washington's fake teeth had been stolen out of their holding receptacle in the Smithsonian (or some other museum). The museum expert had indicated that this set was made with real teeth and that the teeth were often obtained from corpses. However, I could be remembering incorrectly and maybe they did not want to say that they got teeth from slaves. I would have to watch the episode again, but I think that is what they said regarding corpses. Either way, it must have sucked to lose all your teeth back then, but it almost seems like a given for some people based on a variety of factors.
  19. Good points, John S. I was wondering, when they were going to address the teeth issue with George. I saw a documentary recently about his dentures and his teeth and I thought about Turn. I was uncertain how they would attempt to illustrate that with a person who has teeth. I thought the imagery with them all falling out was horrifying. I was not expecting that. Why did he lose all of his teeth? I know that the dental techniques and cleaning techniques are not what we have today.
  20. Really looking forward to this. Looks very interesting. I don't know anything about the premise, other than what was on the commercials.
  21. Cannot wait. It looks great and more GRRRL Power!
  22. Mad Men finale too. I was already thinking of recording Survivor because I don't want to miss a second of Mad Men.
  23. Could Andre get any hotter? I don't even care about the spy ring anymore! :) Just more ANDRE! Peggy was looking cute too.
  24. Ok, so it is obvious that there must be a real issue in real life that precludes JM from working with Archie. But seriously, what could be SO BAD that a professional actor could not share the set with another professional actor for a 2 minute scene here and there? Haven't we all had to work with people that we despise or hate for a variety of legitimate and no so legitimate reasons? WE still had to suck it up and just do it!! I just don't get it. I saw on late night a few days ago some early seasons (3 or 4 , I think) and the vibe was just so different in the show. Alicia was talking and allowing Kalinda back into her life after she learned of the affair. So, her freezing out Kalinda in the context of the show, doesn't ring true at this point. This has to be something in real life that is so huge to JM that she cannot get past it, even to be a professional at her job. OR she is such a massive mega-narcissist and her head has gotten so huge that they cannot fit anyone else in the scenes with Alicia anymore. You know the show has taken a major wrong path when the fan discussion is constantly pondering real life influences on script direction as opposed to what actually happened in the plot. It's a shame. This used to be appointment TV for me.
