  1. I think that wallpaper is the best that Giuntoli can do. It's weird because a bastard prince fled to Portland to hide. If I lived in Fake Portland, I don't know if I should be insulted or flattered. Fake Portland is the epicenter of everything (with its VooDoo doughnuts). But it's the biggest mess of a city.
  2. I don't think that Giuntoli has much range as an actor. I think that Nick is supposed to be dull (or choose another word) because he's the straight man to the wesen. It's the wesen who are interesting, and Nick is the mechanism for the audience to see how the wesen live among humans. I still love the concept. However, the stars of the show are the wesen. This show wants to focus on Nick, not the wesen. But he's not interesting at all. Adding drama to his love life doesn't make him more interesting.
  3. Sorry for the late response. I think that both of them get a lot of criticism. I'm not a fan of Juliette, so I'm not inclined to give her a pass. And I think that there was some backlash against Juliette after she burned the Grimmabago and set up Mama Grimm. I agree. I'm irritated how the writers have written them. Both have been whitewashed for different reasons. Adalind to make the Nick/Adalind relationship tolerable. Juliette to give her character something to do.
  4. I wish that the writers provided details on what Grimms and wesen can do. It was interesting when the books showed physical characteristics of wesen. Like the soft spot on the lower back of blutbaden. I don't think that Adalind's been forgiven. I think that there's a lot of criticism that she's with Nick. When Nick gets back with Juliette, there will be a lot of criticism too. As hexenbiests, they're both manipulative and have done awful things. Is this show pitting women against each other because the prize is Nick? Of course, Nick can't be with an evil person, so she has to be redeemed and become boring. If she becomes evil again (Adalind), Nick gets to drop her. When she becomes good again (Juliette), Nick can get with her. I'm irritated that Adalind and Juliette seem to revolve around who gets to be Nick's girlfriend. I agree. If S6 is the last season, I don't know how they'll offer adequate closure when there are so many questions and dropped storylines. Even now, nobody knows what the Magic Stick can do or what its history is. I also would like to know what has happened to some of the wesen, like the young blutbat that Monroe helped.
  5. This episode is full of fluffy fun. Cold looks hot as the Man in Black. I like Ray, but he's a needy Boy Scout. I question why it's so important for him to be a hero. It's not going to fill that empty void. It is basic! I really liked the actress who played Older Kendra. Anna Deavere Smith was amazing. Loved her speech. Past generations of Kendras have watched Carter die. Past generations have genuinely loved other men. Each generation dies at the hand of Savage. She accepts her destiny. She sounds sad but doesn't feel sorry for herself. She lives by herself to spare the mutual pain of another non-Carter coupling. Heartbreak and death are the only two choices in her life. Replace Young Kendra with her. Young Kendra is officially a Mary Sue. Her relationship with Ray is meh, but because she's special, she and Ray will last. Their relationship won't be anything like the ones that Older Kendra experienced. I liked that Mick went along with the Time Council because he benefited from it. Everybody except Sarah had a self-inerested reason to join. Mick was just being honest. I will be disappointed if he and Cold stop stealing and looting. Pilgrim from Jim Lee's Wildstorm imprint? Now, if DC could revitalize my beloved Grifter without making him a douche... I hate to say it, but Rip was kinda hot at the dual. When he pushed his coat aside to pull out his gun... If Rip's backstory didn't include a dead family, he would be so much better. He stayed on the ship to sulk and to plot the next move. Forget about the Time Council and the dead, boring family. This show should be about helping people, having fun, and screwing the timelines. If Rip's purpose is to middle-mange a bunch of likeable monkeys with blowtorches...well, that's your premise right there. Anti-heroes who inadvertently do some good. Or at least don't make it worst. [That's your tag, Berlanti. You're welcome.]
  6. I want to hold out hope that Renard will get smarter. I think that it's only for Juliette's benefit. Nick is an idiot, but his idiocy doesn't deter from how good and likeable the other characters are. Same with Adalind. She rapes Nick, but this show thinks it's about being naughty. Or that it's OK because they end up together in S5. He's ready to be manipulated by Adalind. If I liked Nick, maybe I could sympathize. I hate when a show does this. Don't tell us what's happening. Show us. The writers seem to want to use a narrative to explain to the audience what it should be feeling or how it should react instead of allowing the audience to draw its own conclusion. You would think that maybe Nick would react later or that he would start to plot against Adalind. No, he'll keep her out of the loop, but he'll still play house with her. I still side-eye Juliette/Eve for being meh about what she and Black Claw lady did. Juliette was pretty pissed at Nick and Adalind when Adalind raped Nick. Now, it's no big deal when she does it for the sake of the mission. As a biest, she's as manipulative as Adalind.
  7. Don't forget, another biest fight is coming. Juliette/Eve has to prove that she's the big bad hexenbiest, so she threatens Adalind as foreshadowing to their inevitable fight. Gotta remind people that Adalind will cower and run away from special snowflake.
  8. Arguably, I think that Adalind could have been manipulated and be the manipulator. Even if Adalind has been manipulated, I don't give her a pass. What I didn't like was that Juliette has done the same things, but it seems like she gets a pass. She's a victim because she drank some potion. It shouldn't have excused her attempted murder of Nick and Mama Grimm's murder. Now, they're both biests. They should both be manipulative. If so, Juliette should be criticized for her actions as a biest. However, Adalind is forever evil. Juliette is forever the victim, so she should get a pass for anything she does. No. Both should equally be raked over the coals for their actions. I still loathe Juliette. I still root for scheming Adalind (not the neutered version who's living with Nick).
  9. I could arguably understand the brainwashing of Juliette because she was abducted and made into a weapon. However, Adalind has also been manipulated too. If they're both biests now, don't they have the same characteristics? They should be both manipulative and capable of doing questionable stuff. They both used sex for manipulation. My main beef is that Adalind the biest is always evil but Juliette/Eve the biest gets a pass. Juliette's history has been parceled to determine when her actions her not her own and therefore, is a victim. Adalind's life could arguably be parceled as well, but she doesn't get a victim card. This show is trying to make me hate women. Ugh. Hate Adalind. Hate Juliette. I question why? There will be another biest fight between them. For Nick? He's the prize at the end of the rainbow? Ahhh, no. Adalind could have been the villian that people loved to hate. She could have been unapologetic in her evil. She could have been Nick's equivalent in a Rogue's Gallery. Like Batman and Talia. The show wanted to make her good, Now, the show is going to make her bad again. Except for Bud and his buddies, nothing good happens when wesen are in groups, i.e., in the law firm. Like Juliette, this show doesn't know what to do with Adalind. Right now, she has nothing, so she goes to her enemy for protection and occasional good times. When she's getting her life together and got a job, it's the start to turn her back to evil. What? Even now, Juliette's supposed to be empowered. How does this show women's empowerment? She sleeps with Black Claw lady for information. How can she be empowered if she's a shell of her former self? I can't believe that this show stripped a woman of her being, of her memories, of her history. She's nothing but a robot to do the bidding of some organization. She was kidnapped and made to submit to do so. [i'll hate-watch the episodes I didn't watch because now, I'm angry about what's going on with the women on this show. I may loathe Juliette, but she doesn't deserve what has happened to her. Neither does Adalind. They won't get a pass from me, but this show has done a disservice to them.] [same with Trubel. The last time I saw her, Meisner was opening the cage, and she had a black eye. WTF?]
  10. I'm OK with that. The writers are writing similar scenarios for both women. Neither of them gets a pass. Adalind has been manipulated by men since the pilot. She's been isolated in a dungeon, mindfucked, and whatever else in order for her to submit. The Royals also manipulated her to do their bidding when Adalind mistakenly thought that they had Diana. Arguably, she has been brainwashed as well and should get a pass for a lot of the heinous stuff that she did. Personally, I don't give her a pass no matter what her mindset was. I also don't give Juliette a pass despite the so-called brainwashing. The writers want Juliette to be a victim and to be empowered at the same time. Am I supposed to sympathize with her because Nick or Meisner screwed her over? When she takes an active role in Black Claw? When she's "eh?" about sleeping with Black Claw lady? Or that she wasn't herself when she tried to murder Nick or to conspire to murder Mama Grimm? She became a biest against her will, so she wasn't herself when she tries to murder Nick. Therefore, she's exculpated from her actions. I don't believe any of that. At some point, she needs to have some responsibility for her actions. [same with Nick. At some point, he's no longer a victim when he's living with Adalind. He doesn't trust her, but he chooses to return to that depressing compound. It's irritating that Adalind is the manipulator in the relationship while Nick has some version of Stockholm syndrome. Adalind is the evil one while Nick is always her victim.] Meanwhile, Adalind doesn't get a pass. At all. No matter how used she's been. Everything she's done is evil, and she's 100% responsible for everything she has done. She's never been played as some victim. I'm trying not to sound like an asshole, but I'm sure that I sound like one. I just think that how Juliette/Eve has been written, the writers want it both ways. She's a victim, so she gets a shield from criticism and from her actions. She's also been empowered, so she gets a pass for whatever she does, including threatening Adalind. But it seems to be acceptable because Adalind is always evil and because Juliette is always the wronged victim who wants her life back. I'm not excusing anything that either of them has done. I agree. Adalind, Juliette, and Trubel have been treated very badly by the writers. I'm going to hate-watch the episodes that I missed, and I cringe at what has happened to them in these episodes. I have no idea how they could treat women so badly on this show.
  11. Sorry for the confusion. I didn't preface the post and wasn't clear. I don't think that Black Claw lady wants to marry Renard. She likes the behind-the-scenes power. I was amused that she was doing everything that a female would stereotypically do to get a proposal, e.g., bait him with a kid. Not any more... Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll have to hate-watch the episodes I didn't watch to continue to comment. ETA: Reply in Juliette thread.
  12. Let Nick stay trapped in the tunnel while he tries to figure out what the stick can do. I thought that she was hinting hard for a proposal. And Renard is trying to fall asleep. Ha! I thought that it was typical behavior for a man who didn't want to be trapped. She brought out Diana as bait. She's trying hard to be Mrs. Shirtless Rage and First Lady Consort of Fake Portland. Renard is very nice to look at, but I'm quite sad that he's as dumb as a box of hair.
  13. I wasn't planning on watching this episode until I saw your post. It was refreshing to have minimal Juliette and her robotic badassery. Re: Nick. Nick can't figure out who the bad guy is, so he goes All Grimm on the wesen couple. He's such an ass. And a terrible cop. If a Grimm cop started harassing me, I would tell him to pound sand. He needs to get off his lazy ass and be a cop first. If he can't figure out how to do his job, too bad. He doesn't get to gather evidence, to solve a case, or to call himself the good guy by threatening people, who were innocent. If there are wesen law firms and wesen doctors, I bet that there are wesen courts. There's also the Wesen Council. He's also an ass for not trusting Adalind but still playing house. End it already, you asshole. The longer that Nick plays house with her, the less I see him as a victim. Every day that he comes back to that depressing compound, it's his choice. Idiot. Eve isn't Juliette, but she looks like Juliette and still has her memories buried somewhere. It's quite convenient. Does Juliette get a pass for huffing on the sorting hat, having sex as Renard, and taking advantage of her biest powers? Does she get a pass for being scared of telling Nick that she has transformed into a hexenbiest? The same stuff that Adalind did for which she didn't get a pass. Or is it because the writers continue to showcase Juliette/Eve as some victim? Even though she was the one who threatened Adalind. Even though she's the alpha female of the show. Adalind's the incompetent biest who has to cower to the badass alpha biest. If this show ends with Juliette and Nick as end game, does she get a pass for playing house with the murder victim's son? Adalind's not getting that pass, and she doesn't deserve it. Victim or badass robot. Choose what the special snowflake is. Re: Renard. The organization is playing him, and whoever that woman he's banging is honeypotting him. Unless he starts shirtless raging, his storyline is boring. The writers still don't know what to do with the magic stick. They're insulting the audience if they think that merely revealing the long awaited Magic Stick can satisfy the audience. This sad show has been renewed, so they think that they have another 100 episodes to figure out what to do with it. ETA: I thought that it could still have been 3rd base, which is still sex. Or that Renard/Eve did stuff, but whoever the Black Claw person is couldn't reciprocate for Renard/Eve. Still sex. I'm not giving Eve a pass for "slept with." People know it means sex. Eve didn't hold hands with Black Claw lady and act chaste. Same scenario that Adalind did. No fucking way that Eve/Juliette gets some pass while Adalind gets raked over the coals for it.
  14. Maybe he should do commentary on the early Grimm episodes. During S1, there was discussion about the use of German words. The German word used for Reaper was for a wheat reaper/wheat thresher.
  15. Ack. Now, I want to blind myself. I agree. It's the thing to do with time traveling shows. This show needs to learn from Futurama: you try to get rid of Hitler, and you end up killing Eleanor Roosevelt. And I'm irritated that Rip leaves time in such a mess. They're leaving Kasnia, but they accelerated Savage's timeline. Now, they're heading off to another time/place to try to fix what happened by doing the same thing again. I'm OK with that. I don't have a problem with stopping Baby Hitler when he's amassing power or right before he uses the Doomsday Virus. Even now, I don't have a problem with putting him in prison for patricide and treason.
  16. Except for Sara, nobody deserves to be a Legend. Kendra has the most boring storyline. While the team is trying to do something, she's in her room and is thinking about Carter. And Carter was boring because his storyline was about how much he loves her. Relationships are the worst. I'm surprised that Ray's immediate assumption was that he fathered a child in 2016 and left him. I assumed that he would survive the mission and would have a family. Savage knows where the cloaked ship is; I'll assume because he can sense Kendra. I was distracted by his version of O. Rex. I'm glad that Mick and Cold hugged it out. Purcell is really good in the episode and shows how perceptive Mick is. If they're not on LOT for S2, I still want them to cause trouble in Central City; and if they beat the crap out of Barry, I wouldn't be unhappy. Sara facilities Mick and Cold's relationship. Is there anything she can't do? Ha! I love the Cold Canary moment. If they're doing it, at least let me be a voyeur to it. If it wasn't for Sara, Cold, and Mick, I would be on Team Baby Hitler. Rip is the worst. He's willing to sacrifice a minor who hasn't done anything to save his son. Yeah, Rip, tell me again how it's not about your boring family. He is so damn insufferable and has absolutely no credibility about the purpose of this mission. And he's a terrible Time Master. When he couldn't kill Baby Hitler, it doesn't make him noble or heroic. I didn't like Stein in the beginning because he was self-righteous, but he and Jax are right. Baby Hitler is a minor who hasn't done anything. Rip is willing to believe that Sara and Mick can be redeemed. Why can't this kid be redeemed? He's still young and impressionable. He assumingly has a mother, and he was dreaming of baking cookies with her. His father doesn't seem like Adult Hitler. Get Savage away from the kid and see what happens. Rip is too lazy to try anything different. Killing or kidnapping. He could have taken the kid into the future to show him that Savage kills him. He could have taken the kid and his mother to a distant place/time to live. He could have figured out how to stop the kid from creating a Doomsday Virus. There are lots of ways to neutralize this kid without killing or kidnapping him. Also, he has 4000 years to stop Savage. He didn't have to travel to this time to kill a minor. A lot of steps in 4000 years have to be taken for Savage to rise to power. Furthermore, with each time that the team visits, Savage still rises to power. Same here. Kidnapping Baby Hitler didn't stop Savage's rise to power. So killing/kidnapping him is not a panacea. Sounds like Savage's rise to power is the de facto timeline. Everything the team tries doesn't stop Savage. Here, take the kid out of the equation by kidnapping, and Savage still rises to power. Maybe Savage doesn't need the kid's Doomsday Virus or accesses it without help from him. Savage's timeline seems to be the one that's immutable, i.e., his timeline self-corrects to ensure that he rises to power. It doesn't necessarily mean that the kid's timeline can't be changed. Or that the kid can't be changed. Yup, Rip is ineffective and an idiot. He shows himself to be weak on Baby Hitler's terms. Rip's actions expedites Savage's timeline.
  17. I cannot believe that this show got another season. These writers better start coalescing these splintered storylines. I wish that the writers would re-watch S1 or ask Aleka Cooper for tips. I feel secondhand embarrassment for the actors except Giuntoli and Tulloch.
  18. I liked Hush, so I would hope that Timm is planning it in the future. I hate the look of the new Justice League cartoon. They look like kids. With the new Justice League and solo movies, I would like Timm to revisit the 90s Justice League.
  19. The Nick and Adalind pairing is horrible. Yeah, Adalind was a horrible hexenbiest who literally screwed Nick. I don't give her a pass for her actions. Nick doesn't get a pass. He and Mama Grimm kidnapped Adalind's baby. He took it upon himself to decide what was the best course of action for Diana. He isn't some hero. The relationship is distasteful, but both of them are terrible people. I don't sympathize with either of them. (I like Coffee, and she does the best with what she's given. I couldn't care less about Nick or Giuntoli.) I'll sound like an asshole, but I roll my eyes at their relationship. I don't feel sorry for Nick for this situation, and I'm not going to put 100% of the blame for this relationship on her. I find him as insufferable as Juliette.
  20. I'll guess that Grimm gets 13 episodes to finish. I can't imagine how they'll fix their mistakes in one season. These writers must think that they're going to work on this show forever. They're still world-building with the magic stick and another secret organization.
  21. The most interesting part of this show is the wesen. See wesen through Nick's eyes. Instead, the focus is on Nick. Not Nick's adventures into wesen territory. It's Nick's personal drama. I would rather watch wesen character development. I want to see how wesen live in their own society and live among humans. Nick's interaction with the eisbiebers was likeable. More of that, please. And more Bud! Love Wu. When given a good storyline, Wu can be more than comic relief. Hands down, Hank is the more likeable character on the show. He brings a thoughtfulness and calmness to his relationship with Nick. And he knows what a whirligig is!
  22. Tulloch also said that Eve was a badass. Who wanted Eve to be badass? Tulloch or the writers? Or was it a collaboration--as Tulloch likes to say? I think that Tulloch has a little more leeway in terms of how her character evolves. I think that Clare Coffee is the one who was screwed. She doesn't know how to play Adalind. Is it a long con? She has to cover all the bases. Re: direction I thought that the whole point of acting is for the actor to interpret the character/scene. Tulloch may get direction for her character/scene, but isn't she also supposed to bring her own interpretation to her character/scene? If not, what's the whole point of acting? What's the point of her acting? I can't help but be amused by robotic badassery. Maybe that should be taught in acting schools. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be watching. Tulloch's scene was OK, but there was nothing special about it. Other actors could have done as well. At least Tulloch looks like she has a heartbeat. The MVP of the scene was the cab driver's glamour.

    Barry Allen

I've watched a few episodes of S1. I don't know if Barry gets better, but he's such a whiny little bitch. No wonder Iris chose hot detective over him. The S1 finale was all about precious Barry, who's weighing the fate of the world against saving his mom. Even his dad said not to do it. He's no Wally West. In the animated Justice League, Wally is the heart of the League.
  24. The moment that Adalind regained her powers, it looked kinda comical because she didn't believe it was happening but sorta did. Coffee must have been frustrated by playing that scene because she's in the dark about Adalind's motivations. She doesn't know if it's a long con or not, so she has to cover all the bases. Some people didn't feel that Coffee was bringing it in that scene, but I think that she was at a disadvantage about how to play it. Meisner and Wu? Wow. I think that SWM is close to the same height as SR. I love the photo from SR's IG where he's taller than the shower head.
  25. I like when this show is full of fluffy fun. I didn't want too much seriousness to get in the way of fun entertainment. Meh episode. I already forgot it. At least Jefferson was given something to do. Sara is always badass. She's still the weakest character, and her role should have evolved beyond Savage's obsession and former barista. I wouldn't be too sad if she was replaced. I thought that I was the only one who stared at her jaw. When she's not speaking, she doesn't close her mouth; and it's distracting. Maybe it's a structural issue for her. She's still a very pretty actress. That scene with Kendra + Savage = squick I'm anticipating the next episode.
