  1. Oh, I care about their romantic relationship. I would like for them to have a Happily Ever After, but I'm OK with them being apart at this point. I agree with how Carter treats their romance. Each time he writes about M&S's intimate relationship, it's like he is starting all over again. He forgets that the chemistry is there, forgets their romantic history and, and forgets that William is biologically their child. He needs to move past teasers. M&S could be in an adult relationship that works and could still be involved in the XFiles.
  2. Sorry for the confusion. For my prediction, Grimm might get 13 episodes because it's on the bubble. Then, it'll be canceled. Since it's on the bubble, maybe we won't hear anything until April/May. The showrunners and writers have to know that Grimm is on the bubble. It needs to focus and to streamline the show into a cohesive vision. The show just wanders around until it stumbles onto some storyline. Then, off to find another storyline. The audience deserves closure from all these ridiculous storylines.
  3. I thought that Grimm was renewed for a full season very early last year . I vaguely remember, but I think that Community was renewed in May for S3 and was reduced to 13 episodes. For S5, a decision for the show came around May, and it was shocking that it wasn't renewed by NBC for S6. I thought that renewal/cancellation was usually done around May, especially for shows on the bubble. Grimm was lucky that it was renewed early/before May. [The May renewal/cancellation isn't a hard rule. With Grimm now on the bubble, maybe a decision won't be made until after sweeps or around May.]
  4. I agree. I'll glaze over the alien stuff, which didn't interest me. Years later, the cageyness of Mulder and Scully's romantic relationship is frustrating. I don't mind if they're no longer together, but Carter still likes to dangle that carrot. It's more of the same.
  5. I wonder if the show will be reduced to 13 episodes while another show is tested in Grimm's time slot. At this point, I would be pissed at the writers for world-building and for dropped storylines when this show may not get another season.
  6. And tons of cameos. Brad Pitt and Buffy! It's worth watching for all the celebrities and the red speedo.
  7. Thanks. I only watched 30 min, but it is great. Haven't watched GA and DD in a long time. With the new season, I have a renewed interest in their work.
  8. Has anybody watched Gillian Anderson in Great Expectations? I heard that she was amazing, but I didn't get around to watching it. I finally going to start tonight. I bet that it's intense, so I'll have to stop frequently. It's on Amazon Prime. While I was searching Amazon, her books popped up. A Vision of Fire: Book 1 of The EarthEnd Saga A Dream of Ice: Book 2 of The EarthEnd Saga Whaaaa? She wrote a couple of books? Is there anything that she can't do? I have yet to watch Great Expectations and The Fall. I have yet to read her books. I feel like it's going to be GA overload for the next few months.
  9. Hated it. I don't mind a filler episode if it's good (M&S Meet the Were-Monster), but this was bad. It didn't seem like there was a COTW. Seemed like a chance for Carter to ramble about whatever he was thinking. I assume that the Lone Gunman and Dancing Mulder was fan service. Disappointed that the Lone Gunmen didn't get much screen time or even talk. I hope that the X-Files doesn't get a reboot with Miller and Einstein. I like Miller as NotMulder. who was amicable but flat. He doesn't have that je ne said quoi quality that DD has. Einstein was horrible, and I hope that she DIAF at the season finale. Mean-spirited asshole. She comes the basement and insults them because she thinks that their careers amounted to nothing. M&S saved a lot of people and put their lives on the line many, many times. She shouldn't talk shit about what has happened to their careers. Einstein as NotScully is terrible and unlikable. GA did a much better parody of NotScully in Bad Blood when Mulder was telling his side of the story, Hated the ending with Miller and Einstein. I don't care about them because I'm not invested in them. So I don't care if they made up and learned a valuable lesson like it's some After School Special. Plus, they have no chemistry together (although Miller is likable). Compare Miller and Einsten's ending with M&S's ending. Lots of chemistry even after all these years together and separate. When they looked at each other, it did seem like they were the only two people on earth. They absolutely adore each other.
  10. I love that Wade wore a Bea Arthur shirt. I could have sworn that there was a Blade 2 reference, but RR was in Blade Trinity. I love the metaness. I expected NTW to be an angsty, insufferable teenager, but I really liked her. Her XMen uniform was great. I agree. Colossus was on point as the comic book characterization, but he did sound old. You knew what was going to happen while he was monologuing. When Wizard magazine was still a thing, readers would ask such weird or random stuff. It discussed how comic book characters lived daily: Did everything about Colossus turn to metal? Well, he is called Colossus. (heh) That moment on the bridge when Deadpool realized whose balls he was fondling made me think of that.
  11. Wolverine: Origins was terrible. Green Lantern was terrible. It was irritating that Ryan Reynolds was being forced onto the general population even when the general population wanted to throw him back. Stop trying to make Ryan Reynolds happen. I had no interest in Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Now, I'm all in. I can't wait to see this movie. Reynolds has a chance to prove himself. He can be remembered as somebody other than that fat kid from XFiles. I can't help but like somebody who cares about ball cancer and boob cancer. Deadpool - Ladies Listen | official Breast Cancer PSA (2016) Ryan Reynolds
  12. I agree. No need to complicate this show. It's best when it's a light and fun procedural. The Three Bad Wolves was a great, fun episode. To this day, I still miss Hap and his Shake Weight. This show has done dark. Organ Grinder was a dark, excellent episode. But Grimm is so depressing and convoluted as a dark show. It's dark all the time. (The XFiles had light, fluffy episodes, which didn't detract from the show's darker episodes.) Nick is best as a hero. He struggled between being a cop and being a Grimm. Now, Nick does whatever he wants. Leave a frozen body in a cab. Take Adalind's baby because it's for the best. Didn't bring in Emily in Maiden Quest. The writers don't even think about. They write twisted, convoluted drama. They really have blinders regarding power struggle/subjugation. I'll add Nick's forced kiss on Adalind, Adalind in the castle, and the beating/submission of Juliette. (Did it happen to Teresa too?) I have no idea how the writers could have plotted a storyline about beating and caging a woman and not blinked. It doesn't look good for Meisner if he was doing it. This show deserves to be canceled because it's a mess. Sounds like the network is going to leave this show to struggle on its own until it's canceled. Or to implode on itself. New showrunners and writers would help. Unfortunately, Akela Cooper isn't coming back to this mess of a show. Instead, this show does double down on what doesn't work--world-building, Nick and Adalind, and anything with Juliette. How I Met Your Mother doubled down on what didn't work. The backlash was amazing. It should be taught in TV Writing 101. Coffee is a good actress, but it's unfortunate that this show keeps trying new things with her. She was scheming in S1. Then, that craziness in the castle. She became grey. Now, she's stuck in some ick drama with Nick. I have no idea what else can be done with her character. There's nothing left to try. I wouldn't be surprised if she left this show before it's canceled. Tulloch's character is painted into a corner too. She repeatedly says that Juliette is some badass. Too bad that she can't deliver. I can't imagine watching Legends of Tomorrow for The White Canary. Then, to watch Grimm for Tulloch's version of badass. S1E3 was amazing just for Sara's fight scenes. XFiles and LOT just started, and it's hard to watch Grimm when other excellent shows are out there. And the bad writing and bad acting aren't helping.
  13. I loved everything about this fluffy episode. I'll just add to what everybody else liked: The metaness of Mulder watching a sleeping Scully through a fox mask. The twisting of tropes: the creeper manager peeping on Mulder--not Scully. The green bottle of beer! Mulder and Guy kept pulling one out. The villain didn't get to monologue. I loved how Guy talked about the curse of being human. I wish that Guy didn't hibernated fro 10,000 years. He and Mulder would be great drinking buddies. Guy's lie about having sex with Scully. That's probably as close to blatant sex on this show. Poor Mulder. He never got to see Scully in her leopard bra. And she was friggin' hot.
  14. Lucifer is still naughty but hardly evil. When is he going to kick puppies? Sounds like Luce isn't the Big Bad. It's really hard to be fearful of him when he can't even catch the bad guy who drove away. This show is terrible as a procedural. It would be much better if Luce and Maze went around and punished people. I wouldn't mind if this show was about Heaven and Hell. Constantine was an excellent show that tried it, but it was canceled anyway. I like Maze and can understand why she's irritated. She didn't leave hell to be a bartender. She should start causing trouble on her own. German is still using the constipated face method of acting. The little girl is still cute. I didn't see the Hurley version, but the original Bedazzled was funny. The devil was reduced to irritating humans. He bruised bananas and popped buttons off shirts.
  15. That's probably what is aggravating me. Tulloch should have remained in the background. Her character didn't merit a leading role. Tulloch's acting abilities didn't merit a bigger part. The showrunners like her and gave her a bigger role, which Tulloch wanted. At the detriment of storylines. Tulloch wanted a bigger role and wanted to be some badass. Look what happens. Other characters suffer for Tulloch's ego. I always knew that Adalind would be beta to Juliette, who has to be the alpha female no matter what. Everybody on this show got sucked into Juliette's storyline. It's like getting sucked into a black hole. Even Renard got off his phone long enough to play a part in Juliette's transformation. And nothing good came out of the badass/fake wig storyline. And Meisner's getting sucked in now. Poor Meisner and his abs. The female villain of the week could have been written well too. Mama Aswang and La Llorona were creepy. I just started watching Legends of Tomorrow. I love White Canary. She's a perfect example of somebody who's badass. She doesn't have to tell you that she's badass. She just is. She's not some pretend robotic weapon. She's awesome when she's fighting men twice her size, and she has a personality, like when she's stealing a bud of MJ for later use. At this point, Legends and XFiles are replacing Grimm for me. Ugh, so many good shows that I have yet to watch (like Jessica Jones, Flash, SHIELD, Arrow, and Daredevil) while I aggravate myself with how bad Grimm has gotten. This show suffered a lot when Akela Cooper left.
  16. Great episode. Classic X-Files. Anderson and Duchovny have such great chemistry. I can't believe how easy it was for them to get into character over a decade later. "ObamaCare." Heh, I missed Mulder's dry wit. The What If dreams were heartbreaking, but I was bummed that neither of them dreamed of a life with William and each other. I wanted to see that the other person was as important as William. Realistically, I'm not saddened that Mulder and Scully never got a happily ever after. Mulder has always been difficult because of his obsessions, conspiracy theories, and the deep void over the loss of his sister. I can't imagine Mulder with anybody in the long term. Scully deserves to have a happy life--married if she choose--even if it's not with Mulder. She deserves better than FWB. I didn't know that Carter didn't want to explicitly say that Mulder was William's father. It seems insulting to M&S's relationship. They trusted each other with their lives, had a deep connection, and fell in love (as much as Mulder can love anybody). I don't recall if either of them had a great connection with anybody else during those years handling X-Files cases.
  17. I stopped watching H5O while German was still there. Catherine was there at the time, and I vaguely remember her being well-liked. Personally, I liked her a lot. (I don't know what has happened with the show since S2.) I thought that it was strange. Lucifer doesn't come off as the Big Bad, so I assumed that there's the Devil and there's Lucifer. It reminds me of Milton's Paradise Lost. There were still a bunch of evil devils, I guess, but there is a Big Bad that rules all the other devils. Plus, Lucifer says his "Father." I thought that it was weird to use a familial term for God. I would think that Lucifer would have rejected God in the same way that he sees God having rejected him. Thanks for the clarification and background about the Vertigo version of Lucifer. I never read anything from Vertigo, but I always got the impression that it based a lot of this stuff on Paradise Lost. Satan argues that he wanted free will and was cast out of Heaven after the rebellion.
  18. Juliette is a terrible character, and Tulloch is a terrible actress. Pairing her with another character isn't going to improve Juliette or improve Tulloch's acting. The Savior of Portland storyline is ridiculous. She is not the focus of the show. And she shouldn't be the Big Boss. I'm not a fan of Nick, but he's the center of this show. She shouldn't get to play hero after the stupid shit that she pulled last season. And she damn knew what she was fuckin' doing when she sexed Kenneth, set up Nick's mother to be murdered, and burned the Grimmabago. Juliette said that she liked her powers; she chose to drink that potion; and Tulloch admitted that she liked that Juliette is a badass. She is no fuckin' victim. I think I'm finished with this show, but I'll read the snark. I just watched the second episode of The XFiles. It was freakin' amazing. I can't imagine watching the clusterfuck of Grimm after watching a great show with similar themes.
  19. Yes! to all. The car is stunning. Tom Ellis is stunning. I do like naughty antiheroes, but he's not the Big Bad. Rachael Harris is hilarious. I'm guessing that Lucifer is getting therapy. Chloe makes my eye itch. German was on Hawaii 5-0, and she was generally not appreciated by the viewers. The showrunners tried to make her happen, but it didn't work. She left after one or two seasons. Didn't like the character on Hawaii 5-O. Not rooting for the character here. Not a fan of the actresses. Her constant bitchface is already getting old. The daughter is a cutie tho. And a better actress. I was confused when Lucifier asks, "Did my Father/father send you?" Was he talking about God or the Devil/Satan?
  20. I agree. That's why he killed Han. Ren wanted to continue down the Dark Side. He wanted to remove any weakness/hope that he would go down the other path. Ren may have been conflicted, but he acted in the best way to continue down the path of the Dark Side.
  21. I wasn't sure how long the last estrangement was. I hope it was only a few years. The "hugging it out" was still bittersweet because nobody is ever happy in this galaxy. I didn't get that. Does Kylo Ren not know Vader's entire history? Vader turning on the emperor and hugging it out with Luke would seem weak. That shipping is absolutely horrific. If tween girls are nuts over Reylo, there's something wrong with them. He head a frickin' light saber to her face.
  22. The show wants to focus on world building, but it's so cheap. I was expecting to see the transformation of the Rat King, but nothing happened. Just a bunch of people waking up from a long night of drinking. What's going to happen when Meisner is shirtless for sweeps?
  23. I can't help but think that Harrison Ford is kind of a prick. I don't think that Han Solo was a flimsy character. He had character depth in TFA as he tried to bring back his son. And yet Ford is still open to another Indiana Jones film. After the crap that was The Crystal Skull. I don't think I object to the hot/cold relationship between them. I did get the impression that they would repeatedly fight and make up. But their last fight really separated them. Maybe for a couple of decades. After ROTJ, there was a huge celebration with the defeat of the Empire. It was assumed that there would be peace in the galaxy. A happily ever after. With TFA, it's not true. Nobody's freakin' happy. Nothing has changed. There's still an epic struggle. At the very least, I would have liked a happily ever after somewhere in the galaxy. I wanted a happily ever after between Han and Leia. I'll accept a fight/make up relationship, but not a separation that keeps them apart for years or decades. I blame Harrison Ford for crapping on my dreams. I love the parady accounts. They're the only fun stuff in a depressing SW galaxy.
  24. I'm going to backpedal because of the Tatum/Gambit gossip from the Golden Globes. http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2016/01/channing-tatum-golden-globes-haircut-gambit Ugh, Jenko as Gambit. I never got the Magneto/Rogue pairing. At most, she should be thankful that he saved her from Ms. Marvel in the Savage Land. But it wasn't romantic. And Rogue was totes crazy for Gambit. The Rogue/Gambit pairing was a big reason why fangirls started to read the XMen comics. I got a little tired of the pairing when the relationship seemed to be going emo. I still love the pairing, but I wouldn't mind them with other people. Gambit really likes to mindfuck with people, so it would be interesting if he hooked up with a telekinetic. There's no way that he could bullshit Jean or Psylocke. Their pairing in AoA was weird. Rogue could tough Magneto, but she couldn't even touch her son. What was up with that? Ugh, and Jennifer Lawrence is open to playing Mystique after Apocalypse. More Sad Raven and Olivia Munn trying to be sexy. I will scream if they ruin Apocalypse.
  25. I'm not a fan of Lawrence, and her Mystique is bland at best. I did love Rebecca Romijn's Mystique. The worst part of DOFP was the focus on Mystique. The fate of the world is dependent on Sad Raven being less sad. I'm really, really pissed that the next installment will focus a lot on Mystique again. At most, she's a minor character. Last night, DOFP: The Rogue Cut was on Cinemax. I was pleasantly surprised.
