  1. Wait, these exist? *scuttles off to watch* Much rather watch Chaplaine Harris's adaptations than this hash of comic canon. 'Dinah Drake indeed.
  2. So what I meant to do was respond to the person above saying that one of the biggest issues that Chase would face would come from the City Government that employed him, who might object to him taking on a side case while being employed by them. However, said I, attempting to jest (evidently poorly) that I didn't think it would be much of an issue to get said City Government to waive any objections they may have (perhaps by providing a no objection certificate / letter / writ / affidavit / document / scroll / book / pamphlet / stone tablet) given that Oliver, the Mayor, is the leader of that same City Government and would be in a position to grant such a request from Chase. My apologies for being hopelessly obscure and inscrutable.
  3. But it gets damn tiring to watch as a viewer.
  4. Chase does have an in with the leader of the City's Government so getting a 'no objection' certificate shouldn't be too hard. I'll confess I was bored.
  5. Why couldn't you just boil it / wash it in very hot water and be done? Anyway, maybe the towel was gray to begin with it and it never dries because of the number of times Jake showers in a day.
  6. My gift is late because I suck and didn't give a good enough address.
  7. Maybe there was also that point - that she really wasn't a good speaker and her speech was going to be stupid. Which no one cared about when she was a 4.2.
  8. Hugs, Boliver. And belated New Year wishes everyone.
  9. Hey guys, sorry been AWOL. Had to have my laptop formatted. Not blaming 2016 on that though. Belated wishes, Hostile. In terms of good news, I had my first visitors in August, my brother started his internship, graduated and then started his job this year, demonetization happened in India which I am determined is a good thing, we are getting our house refurbished after 10 years, I was struggling at work (there was a lot of it(, but my boss thought I did okay and I' still loving living in Dubai in my flat and my friends everywhere have been lovely. So, all good.
  10. To be the saddest part of this episode was that not only was he innocent of the murder, he was also innocent of the original fraud.
  11. RE: Toby's attractiveness - he's funny, which is enough for the first date and sweet which is enough (together with being funny) for the rest of them. IMO of course. I don't need to dig beyond that. The sparked non verbally before they even spoke so I don't doubt their regard for each other. What is this increasing trend of banning words rather than banning the thoughts behind them. She has a really lovely face - that should be ignored because some fat women don't? Or because mean people couldn't find more to say? What should be said instead? they have a great personality? Maybe the person (like Kate sometimes) is really negative and grumpy?
  12. I think the term 'political' has a negative connotation in this case because then it wouldn't be 'organic' storytelling. Anyway, I don't think William being made bi was in the service of diversity. I think, as I mentioned in the episode thread, that William still needs to be, somewhat, likeable. There was so much hullabaloo over the cat. I cannot imagine how up in arms many people would have been had William ran away from his elderly girlfriend. When it comes to cutting off all communication with his elderly boyfriend, however, it got lost under the 'reveal' of William's bisexuality.
  13. There is precedence. Smallville: Chlark. Also to posters from a while back arguing that they couldn't give a character all the traits of an iconic character then, without bts shenanigans, hand the mantle over to an inferior actress who only had the name - see Smallville: Chlois. This.
  14. I seem to be having difficulty making myself understood so this is my last attempt. I don't think that there's anything wrong with Boyle crushing on Dianne Weist. She is great. In fact, for men and women, I am normally against the entire concept of "age-appropriateness". As long as they are both legal I don't care. However, I was specifically responding to the comment that DW is an age appropriate crush for Boyle, which I disagreed with as she seems to be considerably older. If their genders were reversed there'd be folks up in arms, which I disagree with. My apologies for the confusion.
  15. Oh agreed. :o) Just saying Weist is, therefore, not age appropriate ;o)
  16. I don't think Weist is age appropriate for Boyle. She feels older? The best thing is that you knew what was coming as soon as Jake gave CJ access to the earpieces. But it was so hilarious anyway.
  17. I have a different theory. I think the drug "lord" was speaking to his henchmen to keep an eye on Riggs and give him a short leash. But I thought it was interesting that he said that Riggs wasn't important enough to kill Miranda off. Because Miranda's not just Riggs's wife, she's also the DA's daughter. So I do think Riggs's father-in-law is involved, but as the man whom the cartel was trying to send a message to / take revenge on.
  18. Apparently it increases the "stakes". Personally I think it's cheap and lazy. Re: William and the Middle Turkey cottoning on, I thought it was because of how Jesse was caressing William's back as William was playing the piano. They could have done it in Beth's home office, in which case there would be no beds to defile. RE: the sudden bi-ness of William, i think Jesse had to be a man, because they are still portraying William as a nice man, and can you imagine the backlash if William had run away from his 60 (or whatever year old) girlfriend?
  19. She was his assistant. It was literally her job. Was she rude? Yes. Was she correct? IMO also yes. (And Olivia was rude first).
  20. Just because Olivia read Kate as saying Kevin was uncomplicated doesn't mean Kate meant to say so. Nor did Kate say that Kevin wasn't aware that he was being used. And I don't really think you need more than one of the sentences above to know you are hanging out with a pretentious person. *shrugs*
  21. Kate said "earnest and sweet". Neither of that means 'uncomplicated / simple / malleable' last time I checked. Olivia suggested they thought he was forced to act 'uncomplicated. Kate did NOT say simple, nor malleable. Also, when she said I know women like you - she explained what she meant immediately after - pretentious pretty girls who use guys like Kevin to feel..you know..interesting because they are dating someone uncomplicated. In that sense she was being rhetorical / using those words as a filler. And if we see what we saw Kate experience before the confrontation, Olivia's sample dialogue was: "This place is so quaint", "Oh my god, this looks absurd", "If only Gertrude Stein had one of these in her Paris salon." The friend that Olivia brought was wearing suspenders over a thermal, whose sample dialogue was "Rad cabin by the way. Norman Rockwell would have really lost his mind." These are not unpretentious people. And it is natural for pretentious people to feel themselves superior by being around 'simple' people. I don't think Kate is off. Also, Olivia is pretty and she was obviously using Kevin & her ex...
  22. Not related to the adoption discussion but in my experience expats tend to cling to certain elements of their culture than in their native land. Language may gain an accent, clothes may change but by God elders will be respected.
