My Mom is excited. She loves this show. It hasn’t gotten much buzz but it’s good.

I’m so sorry. And such a stress right at the holidays (no matter which one you celebrate), I was in the same position December 2021. You gave her a wonderful life. It’s the last bit of love we can give to them in times like these. Be gentle with yourself. I’m glad Hubby can go on his trip.

As Auntie’s Advice says (a YouTube reaction channel that covers this show) “Karma knows your address!!”

I think Danielle wanted to have the upper hand in a romantic relationship for once and thought she could pull the wool over Yohan’s eyes. But I don’t believe she told him “I’ll let you be a kept husband and you’ll never have to work again.” Compare her so someone like Kenny who did financially and socially uplift their younger partner- Kenny is secure in who he is and Armando does treat him well and provides him companionship/love. Danielle expected Yohan to be “grateful”, but he wasn’t, he could have hit a much better “mark”, which is why he kept looking to do so. I think Danielle would’ve loved to just be married and live in the DR, have sex and hang out with him, but that’s not what Yohan signed up for.

I don’t think Shekina is being placed in an abusive situation at all. I think she and Sarper are weird, but they can be weird! I think Sarper is the one benefiting from that relationship though. Possible- but I also think Danielle bought into the fairytale of running away from her debts and life in the USA. I know beauty is subjective, but there are many men in the USA who would find Danielle attractive and be interested in dating her. Now they likely have full time jobs, and kids from a previous relationship- and they don’t have time to hang out on the beach all day like Yohan did.
-
How Andre approached Shekina just wasn’t socially appropriate. It just wasn’t. I liked that too. Sarper and Shekina are both consenting adults and can do what they want, I don’t think Shekina thinks everyone should behave the way she does, and she did try to be objective and speak respectfully to the other members. Only Danielle (shocker) and Kenny criticized her in an appropriate manner (Kenny does try to be the voice of reason for everyone). I also liked what Armando had to say to Yohan. Yohan is a jerk, and Danielle didn’t deliver on their deal, but I think she was genuinely hurt because had real feelings for him. (Not love exactly but I think she did like him) For Yohan it was purely transactional.

I like them together. They had conflicts but it seemed to be a genuine relationship and he’s good to her kids.

I noticed that too! I thought this as I was watching Christmas in Notting Hill, the main character flies to London from the USA, yet has at least 4 winter coats. Now granted she could’ve borrowed from her sister whom she was staying with but I noticed. It would’ve made sense for her to have one nice cost and build outfits around that!

S03.E04: In Sheep’s Clothing

Raq is going to lose her son for real playing these games to manipulate him back into her life/house. Yes of course she is his mother she can order him home, but that stunt could’ve backfired on her. (And I think it will) Ronnie creeps me out. If Lou really wants out of the game he needs to stop doing business with his family. -
Yes I certainly agree on that! George loves his kids, and I think he meant it that he wants Gladys to find love (and if she doesn’t it’s not like she has to marry to survive). He doesn’t need her (or Larry) to make a successful match for his own ego the way Bertha does (I know she loves her kids, but that’s about her social come up NOT their’s). Gladys will NOT want to marry the Duke, and George will back her up.

Air Date: December 22, 2023

Yes. George does love and care for Bertha- but he’s in charge, and when he says “no more” that’s the end of it. They do consult each other about things because they have a genuine friendship and romance, but Bertha is in charge of the domestic side and he the business/external side.

I left the 90 Day Universe for a while, but I think this series of tell-alls was one of better ones. It was entertaining and we got a fair amount of interaction and perspective between cast members.

S03.E03: Open for Business
Scarlett45 replied to Scarlett45's topic in Power Book III: Raising Kanan
I’ve had a busy weekend but I missed the hint about the Honey Nut Cheerios. Wasn’t he eating those in episode one? What was the significance? -
Something that annoys me about Rob- 90days on the k-1 visa isn’t to decide if you want to get married. You are to be committed to getting married when you APPLY for the k-1, the 90days after arrival of the foreign partner are to finalize wedding logistics and execute the wedding. It’s not a “wait and see” period.

@mxc90 I didn’t think much happened this episode but you’ve proved me wrong! I can see Juke wanting the name that represents her, rather than her legal name on the audition form. -
I could see this. He died that night, it was only a few hours before. I could see her not changing yet.

How do we it was ever her money to entrust to him? When her husband died he may have left it ALL to Oscar (or most of it) legally and he didn’t bother managing it because his mother had good sense. His personal income from the bank he probably used to keep his room/clothes/spending cash. What may be left was the little that was in Agnes’ name alone. After Agnes’ brother spent the family fortune and left them penniless I could see her watching the money closely, but her son is an adult- she can’t stop him from accessing the money his father left him. AND it just happened THAT DAY, wasn’t as if he had been taking it months at a time and she didn’t notice (never mind being preoccupied by Luke’s illness). It looks like Oscar was a damn fool when he was too old to be one, not that Agnes did anything wrong. I know!! Peggy is so sweet, but the black community is too small. She will be ruined if anyone gets a HINT of scandal and 1. Never get a job at a black publishing establishment again, 2. Socially ruined and unable to marry a guy from the community. And as we know Mr Fortune will continue on without any consequences. I blame the writers- why couldn’t they have made him a single junior editor so Peggy could have a nice romance?!!!!

S05.E01: Bringing Home the Bacon
Scarlett45 replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in 1,000-LB Sisters
A revision to the surgery. Likely she originally had the sleeve and they will revise it and give her a bypass. -
Yeah to me that is horrifying. If he likes it than it’s cute. But if he found it horrifying she should stop it.

You don’t stop being a parent until you die, (assuming you’re a good one) once you have kids you can’t give them back so she can’t undo it. What she can do is -not blame Michael and figure out some ways to get through these next years with two very small kids. I do feel for her, two under two is HARD especially if you don’t enjoy caregiving even if you wanted the kids. But that doesn’t mean she gets to paint Michael as a bad father/bad person- she can acknowledge her own limitations / a rough situation without blaming him. That’s all I am saying.
