  1. I loved the little calico, Louise, and that she stayed with her doggie friends, just like the little Ruby Jo. It was also cool seeing those kittens climbing the fireplace - they really did blend with the stone.
  2. Yeah - I'm old and watch too much TV. :-) ridethemaverick - I thought it was a really interesting case, and I hope they bring more like it (Gah - that sounds like I want more black serial killers, which isn't at all what I meant!). :-) That being said, the annoying female Southern voiceover can just go away.
  3. I never liked bras, and only wore them to work reluctantly when the nips no longer looked skyward. My 20 year old male coworker had a better solution than the dreaded bra: duct tape the nips, cut off the ends of a Q-Tip & glue them up high - instant youth! Gotta love those young mechanics, eh. :-)
  4. October is far away, but the July 4th marathon and "sneak peek" just might tide me over. Although I cringe at the marathon watching I'm going to have to do to keep up with my DVR space. At least half of my storage is stuff I'm saving for my Mum's next visit and I can't erase it or she'll die. :-)
  5. TaraS1 - that one hits me too hard, as I knew Tom Hawks' cop brother, Jim, for many years. He was one of the few really decent cops I knew, and the story is just heartbreaking, because Tom & Jackie were such good people, from all I've heard.
  6. Ooh minxy - 1978 wedding! Mine was in '76 and totally fucking hi-jacked by my family & his; stupid $500 on sale dress my Mom insisted on is still in a box in a closet somewhere. Blech!!! I never wanted to get married, but agreed to do the nude beach or mountain meadow barefoot with flowers in my hair stuff, replete with potluck picnic & Tubular Bells ... next thing you know, awkward '70s wedding. So it makes me very happy to see Jen so happy on what is a celebration of her birthday, her survival, their new family, and their vow renewal all rolled into a nice package.
  7. That optometrist needs a proctologist to have his own head surgically removed from his ass.
  8. Because it cannot be said often enough: "Shut the fuck up, Ramona".
  9. Willowy, nothing could break our bond (HANG DAI!) - especially not a self indulgent c********* like Milch, who is a cheating cheater who cheats. Fuck him for making me love and hate the characters he writes, and the stories he never fucking finishes.
  10. It is very sad hearing about Milch, Lucille. Nothing will ever match Deadwood, of course. But JFC had a magical promise of great things to come, and, it made me very happy, philosophical in a mystical way, and left me wanting so much more. It was almost as if Milch was starting to explore death and the greater meaning of life and the universe - perhaps more cognizant of his own mortality and failing health? I went all in on that one, too. :-( Luck, on the other hand - I just knew it was doomed from the start, and I love horses, so I managed to stay totally detached. :-)
  11. Much as I hate to admit it, auntl, I am probably going to DVR it. Just out of curiosity, where is the Specials thread? ETA - Bella, your zoo potty story reminded me of the outhouse story Charlotte told on a Father's Day special Alaska:The Last Frontier. Eiven rigged a motion sensor to a tape recorder in his Dad's outhouse. It cackled like a troll and said "Give me more treasure" whenever anything went down the hole. :-)
  12. I don't think Vega could get any hotter (I could listen to his voice for hours!). The scenery in this episode was beautiful, too. :-) Single white teen went cray cray just like her mommy - wonder how that happened?
  13. Joe is quite the little fangirl now, isn't he? "It's great to see I have got a partner that's in such good shape" as Joe looks up his tree-climbing partner's loincloth. heh
  14. It's Aviva - the kidney will be in a sealed medical waste flask with a certificate of authenticity from the Mayo Clinic.
  15. I loved every minute and cried like a baby. No shame.
  16. I was briefly distracted - just how did Keith let the ice get so thick? That looked pretty dangerous. Bill's new guy is going to have a really sore face come "morning" (or whenever his nose thaws!).
  17. beckie - I thought Devil in the Details was not as objectionable as some of the other shite ID's been shilling. I have to admit, I've already forgotten what the episode was about!
  18. OMG - I am very afraid to ask what Gremlins stood for. My first new car was a 1974 Gremlin (V8 - 304, baby). Loved it till the engine blew. I loved the look of the Pacer, too - took one for a test drive and it felt like a little moon ship or something. I was young. :-) I am just not really feeling this show. Too bad - I enjoyed Silicon Valley and had high hopes for this, but have been disappointed so far.
  19. I really enjoyed the Father's Day special. It was just scenes (some extended, I think) we've seen before, but with a lot of THs about the Dads. Eve is full of praise for the knowledge that Otto is passing to Eiven, and how great a Dad Eiven will be. Jane is full of praise for how "poetic" Atz Lee is, and how he's a great Dad who leaves her with all the discipline, but she loves him anyways. heh. Charlotte is full of praise and admiration for everything about Otto and his Dad, Yuel (sp?), and she has so many delightful little anecdotes. My fave was the motion sensor Eiven rigged up to a recording in the outhouse, that gave an evil troll cackle and said "Give me more treasure" whenever anything went down the hole. She was cracking up with the telling, and so was I.
  20. Well, yes, he obviously had some issues - not many 21 year olds date married women 26 years their senior.
  21. I feel sorry for the baby that has to grow up in that apparently dysfunctional household.
  22. Willowy - when someone tells me they're into horticulture, I tell them you can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think. :-) iguana - I could never convince any of my friends or co-workers to watch Deadwood back in the day (nowadays I don't have friends & co-workers, so it's moot). I did get my Mum to watch with me - she is used to my foul language, so was not shocked.
  23. Jaime Ramos was the young man's name - he really did come across as a horribly naïve killer. What a bizarre story. I had never seen this story, either, so it was nice to finally see something new.
  24. Another new series tonight : Devil in the Details. Hopefully it will focus more on investigating a crime and less on the soft porn Saturday night stuff we've been subjected to of late. A girl can dream ...
