  1. Skorts. The mullet of fashion. I have seen some active wear things called skirtinis, I think. Just a skirt over a sewn in pair of shorts. Okay, full disclosure, I have worn a skirtini but just around the house. They're actually quite comfortable and more flattering than some shorts. If Ashley couldn't fit shorts properly I would imagine the skort would present her with even more difficulties. I've have seen plenty of men's shorts riding up their thighs. Really bad look male or female. I was surprised she sent hers down the runway.
  2. And the majority of their stores are in fairly upscale locations. And it appears they did not relinquish the use of the Earl of Sandwich moniker but instead operate as the company's franchiser while also operating company stores. Wiki Bon Appetit weighs in. I'd definitely try one of their sandwiches. They look to be quite a few rungs up from Subway. Maybe they should open one at Mapperton.
  3. Maybe they'll rent it to an arm of the Duggar enterprise and that entity can use the rent and tax and other costs as a tax write-off? wink winkCreative bookkeeping/accounting 101.
  4. I don't think any of them appear to really need braces. Is this the end of their orthodontia? Do their back teeth look really bad? I don't see any "pulls" that need rearranging... Crazy.
  5. I feel your cooking pain! I just about quit cooking anything because no matter how I nuanced flavors and added new tastes the end result would be either drenched in a gravy type substance or salted to the extreme. Gah! And certain foods (zucchini, squash etc etc) were not to be tolerated. Now we eat so completely differently we are rather independent eaters. That's what needing to diet can do.And I hope to share your homeownership joy! I love Craftsman homes. So much style. And I'd like to help you paint that fence but I have yet to find a paintbrush that fits my hand...
  6. My memory did not go beyond the first verse. Now I wonder why I thought it so happy. Childhood illusions. Oh! Sunshine! Happy! Arms!
  7. Butterqueen, I have had to cut back on my ID viewing. The dramatizations/reenactments and the dramatic music and expressive narrations that comprise so many shows have kind of freaked me out. I can do the Datelines, 20/20s and 48 Hours et al and read true crime but the docudramas... Isn't Jean Harris really dead? Is BaBa reprising old interviews? Won't watch. Wish she would "retire" somewhere that I am not.
  8. ETA quote Ohhhh. Rescue animals know. Cats might pretend otherwise but... And it sounds like a happy attachment. For all. We think ours might have been in a plastic grocery bag at some point. 12 years and he still shrinks at the crackle. But he'll stick his head in a not yet emptied (stationary) Pet Supermarket bag! I usually see slices and homemade cookies etc. on a paper plate with Saran. Have fun!
  9. I don't remember Tim chastising Chris March. But I also can't remember the quality of Chris's work. Except Costume!! He slept. A lot.
  10. Is this the kinda' wild kitty you took in? I might be confused. But, Kudos. Patience and more patience. Our half-wild is 12! He's still a little wild, in a good way.
  11. Is there anything to stop you from providing slices of banana bread? I'm pretty sure I've seen that done at fairly casual events. Or there are mini-muffins. I like the idea of sharing cheez-its with the cat but then again I usually deflect his begging by putting something down he doesn't like. He doesn't beg like he used to and no it's not cruel!
  12. You are my Sunshine is also sung at funerals. Don't know if that's a new thing but it is very very moving. And it was such a happy childhood song. Full circle? It makes me nervous seeing that baby on a blanket.
  13. Bolding mine I bet it's that darned Leviticus. Or something close. Is there such a thing as a Leviticusite? Should be. They would be much more easily identifiable.
  14. Curiouser and curiouser. The inquisitr could have gotten most of their info right here. But then again, we are always right.
  15. Bolding mine And there's nothing like a partner retiring to send one screaming from the house. LolI'm looking down the sights of that myself and though I stay busy with a small business that I love it's getting to be a bit more work than I want so have been measuring options. The one that involves 24/7 with this new intrusion into my rather sublime peace and quiet needs adjustments. So volunteerism (is that a word?) here I come. I'm thinking something like Friends of the Library and a local land conservation groups that needs exotics and invasives cleared from their properties. Thanks all for the suggestions. So happy for your interview, Wok Chop! Good move stating your point and closing your mouth. I also have a tendency to fill the silence and it usually ends with me babbling on about something that really did not need sharing. I think interviewers use that as a tactic. All best!!! Glad you are feeling some small sense of healing Skittl. So very difficult. And I think you are right about staying busy. Every little bit helps. Peace.
  16. Well, this isn't the first time I've disagreed with one of their new inclusions/pronouncements. Isn't this kind of a step back? Next stop, writing in rebus?
  17. ETA quote: I don't think the bridal jewelry was an example of dis/honoring a country but perhaps rather dishonoring a religion. I would guess that Catholics would prefer to not see rosaries used as jewelry/necklaces by non-catholics but I don't know at what point sensitivity issues trump a person's individual style or creativity. It seems to me to be a gray area.
  18. Quote from Duggar Family Blog"Moody Spurgeon was a character on the television series "Road to Avonlea". Charles Spurgeon was the preacher from the 1800's." My brain hurts. ETA There's actually a LMMontgomery thread in the Books forum.
  19. eta quote What did a dog ever do to you to justify this? Please! Think of the dog!! I don't think I'd trust a Duggar with a guppy.
  20. Agree. One season of BH I could barely tell them all apart.
  21. Middle names for pets?? We were barely able to come up with Max.
  22. Put a tin cup in her hand.... Hopefully the Duggars won't be reduced to this when their fortunes fade.
  23. At least I didn't break the internet rule about always making a mistake while attempting to correct a "mistake".
