It kind of feels retaliatory though, like every time he has an an encounter with joan that doesn't go the way he wants, he picks up a chick. What is going on with Joan anyway..... is she trying to push him away?

I wonder if the Endeavor series will change that.

Anyone know if Morse ever married? Im reading conflicting results. I've read that he was a widow before the books but his wife's name was never mentioned. I've read that it comes out in The Inspector Lewis series that Morse married Thursday's daughter Joan, and I've read that Morse never married. I'm so confused.

Why are Morse and Strange sharing a flat?
-
She only said she was in the Army, not that she had been in war.

I think your right. I think the mother is behind this.

I wonder if its not necessarily that Christophers intentions are murky, but maybe after he already had one failed marriage he is hesitant to try again, but at the same time he is in love with Trixie and wants to be with her. I do wonder IF she starts drinking again, if it will be the ex-wife or Christopher maybe pushing her into playing house, when their not married. I don't think though, that if he is pushing her to sleep with him, it would be because he is that kind of guy, but more that he might be gun shy about marriage......... then again I won't see the eps til march....so I can only guess by your comments.

I suspect that if she starts drinking, the ex-wife will be the thing that ends up being the final nail.......sounds like there is gonna be a lot of issues with the baby mama. I hope that if she does its an accident. Maybe the ex-wife tricks her into drinking......I really dont want to see her willfully picking up a bottle.

There probably is a morality clause. I don't know is anyone remembers, but in the first season there was a big deal just about the fact that Trixie had alcohol in the room. They had to hide it, they weren't supposed to be drinking there. I know some time ago, not on here. I read a thing that listed all the things that a Nurse could lose their jobs or license over in the 50's during WWII....and I can't imagine they laxed on that in the early 60's, late 60's maybe. Some things included public intoxication, improper behavior with a man not their husband, swearing..... generally any behavior that would fall under the military term 'conduct unbecoming' That teacher didn't just loose her job, but her lodgings too. I don't think Sister Julienne would want to fire her, I mean Im sure that everyone suspects what will happen when Trixie goes away with Christopher, but is she got pregnant I think that Sister Juliene may be forced to fire her is she doesn't marry Christopher whether she wants to or not. However since it sounds like Trixie's arc is about her struggle with either wanting to, or actuating slipping back to, drinking. I don't think they are using her real pregnancy in the show.

See thats the thing, I thought I remembered something in the show that explained her exit. If you look on some other sites, they say she married the good Reverand and went to Africa with him. But I can't place an episode or an exact scene.....its so confusing.
-
I thought they were edited because I remember Jane marrying that Reverand, but I haven't found an ep that showed her departure or said anything.

Since Call the Midwife is basically on loop in my house....spoilers don't matter to me.....I'll watch it over and over again.

What's Coming Up With The Midwives And Friends
LadyChaos replied to maraleia's topic in Call The Midwife
I would really like to hope not, but it would be more realistic if she had a slip up IMO, and maybe its done in such a way that she felt she couldn't refuse the drink and thought 'Well if I only take just one little slip I'll be fine.' or a case where the drink is handed to her, and doesn't know alcohol in it til she took a drink......who knows....a bunch of speculating til we see it. I just see that something bad enough has happened that would warrant her just to start drinking of her own accord. I also wonder if Sister Monica Joan will die this season. In an interview before s7 started filming, Linda Bassett said she wasn't sure she would even be able to be in s7 due to her health.....and in s7 Xmas episode, SMJ seemed worse than usual. -
What's Coming Up With The Midwives And Friends
LadyChaos replied to maraleia's topic in Call The Midwife
So, in Helen George's interview that came out about 5 days ago said that Trixie is still struggling coming to terms with her alcoholism and it made me wonder about the trailer that came out where she and Christopher are arguing and she says 'I am not asking for help.' and he responds 'Well, you need it. -
When are the episodes supposed to start airing?

I also saw an article over the summer where Judy Parfitt said(months prior to me reading the article) her health was declining and she wasn't sure she would be back from s7, so I wonder if we may lose her in s7 too. I do believe though, that all the people who left recently (Noakes, Patsy, Delia, Cynthia, and even Chum) all have open ended passes to return though, so they may not be gone for good, they may just be gone for s7..... it is too soon to tell. I liked this episode. I was disappointed that it wasn't a 2 hour long special like the past several years, but oh well. Trixie (IMO) looked more pregnant in some scenes than others, that I wondered if they had gone back and filmed them later or refilmed some scenes towards the end. Im rather glad that they are choosing to just ignore her pregnancy instead of trying to find away to include, or (god forbid) they pull a Fraiser and just call her fat and in desperate a diet. Sister Julienne had said that Val performing CPR had probably gotten the lungs to expand on the baby, but that the pulse and breathing were likely to shallow for her to pick up, so the baby hadn't been without Oxygen that whole time, just taking little shallow breathes. I was half expecting Tom to start a crisis of faith arc, after his telling Barbara about not being sure if he is being called at all.

Anyone know when to expect the Christmas special to be online? We stream here so I won't be able to watch until it is online.
-
Either Weller slept with Jane's daughter or got her killed. Either option really is irritating.
-
How do we know that Joan fell down the stairs to get rid of the baby? I took it to be that the dead beat bf beat her up when he found out she was pregnant.
-
This maybe already answered .... I don’t know.... but I read somewhere that the xover event is West/Allen wedding but will actually focus more on Olicity. Anyone get the feeling we might get a bait and switch wedding or a double wedding? As a long time Olicity fan I’m gonna be pissed if that’s how Olicity gets married after all the buildup.
-
Wait! What? scenes are cut out for the U.S. airing????? Why? Congrats to them!!! They probably just finished filming within a day or two. From the recent post with Barbara and the good Reverant...people are speculating that Barbara may be pregnant but end of s7. Which will be interesting since it would seem by her push to go to the family planning that this would not be what she wants, yet.

This is why I suspect they will get rid of Duncan and put Murtagh in his place.... Duncan is older 60s-70s?, marries Jocasta and stays in River Run while Jamie settles in Frazier Ridge. So instead of introducing a new character, they are just going to have Murtagh became Duncan's character. He will help Jamie until he decides to stay with Jocasta in River Run, then we will just see him time to time as the story calls for it. In reality I can see why they might choose to do this since we really wouldn't have Duncan in every ep or even every other ep if they get that far in production. Why waste time trying to establish a background for a character we will only see maybe 2-3 eps per season when they can give that part to an established character already that is loved by fans. Really it it happens all the time in TV and movies. Of course this is all my suspicions.
-
The question begs though.... we're is Murtagh now.... my first thought is that he must be in prison.
-
I wonder if he will take the place of Duncan Innes in the books.

I wonder, since TM is going to be in s4 in some capacity. I wonder if they are not going to show much of Claire's life with Frank now, and show more later. Because the preview for 303 already looks like she and Frank are having that massive fight the night he dies. Indicating that 304 and 305 are all about finding Jamie and preparing to go back.
