  1. There's speculation that everything that happens with Dolores after she puts the contact lens in is a projection but it's strange because she's talking to Martin Connells on the phone about Caleb when she puts it in. Then she rushes off to help him. After she saves him a night, it jumps to them walking to the diner in the daylight, so I'm guessing the Show is still playing the silly mind games it's done the last two seasons.
  2. The baby "brokering" ring made me think of the frightening Rose DeVille on Y&R all those years ago, so I watched a couple scenes of her and Nina. That was my favorite part of today's episode.
  3. Here's the link to the TVLiine article. It also mentions how Days' ridiculous production schedule may serve as an advantage for them, for once. https://tvline.com/2020/03/31/soaps-ratings-daytime-quarantine-y-and-r/
  4. Host!Charlotte's cuts look like the divergence symbols the show used in the trailers for the season, and they've also been used intermittently between scenes. I don't know if it's a clue to anything, or the show just making use of its fondness for demonstrating how everything is connected. When Dolores is fixing Host!Charlotte's cuts, she says that Hale was always ruthless. A predator. It's possible that when Host!Charlotte identifies herself as a predator at the end that whoever the pearl belongs to is starting to lose the battle to Charlotte's personality, meaning that she might try to betray Dolores at some point. While I'm not a big fan of the Living-in-a-Simulation theory, it makes me wonder if this season is exploring how one may not be able to tell the difference between living in a simulation and what could be called "reality".
  5. Yes, the whole Love-Conquers-All thing was groan-worthy. And twice? Some of my favorite Princess Gina moments were when she mocked them for trying that on her. Even John couldn't resist the temptation to rant at Stefano's consciousness in his friend's body. I guess Stevano trying to score some sexy times with Marlena was more than John could handle. Poor Justin. He knows the writing's on the wall. It was nice of the Show to let two adults have a realistic conversation in the midst of magical I-Love-Yous and lethal shoes.
  6. Me, too. I tried to like her in Annihilation but she didn't work for me there, either. If it's Peter Abernathy's pearl inside Charlotte, it could be like a mirror image of the parent spooning the child and the child spooning the parent.
  7. When Kenton asks Katie if they've met, she had just told him that he can't kill Lily and he's sarcastically referring to her watching him suffocate Sergei with the bag over his head. Yes, I also noticed that he left out killing Anton, or whatever his name really was. Hard to say if that will be significant later, or not. My feeling is that the show won't tie up every thread by the end. Is Alison Pill a major character on Picard?
  8. It depends on what you mean by recreate.
  9. My suspicion is that Dr Rolf's primary motivation is to triumph over death. If you can transfer consciousness from one body to another, it might seem like a person's death is a thing of the past. He's attempted to transfer the consciousness of two people that he seems to care about, and one could even imagine that he doesn't want to live without them in his life. Unfortunately, his experiments aren't going so well.
  10. I found a couple interviews in which Alex Garland talks specifically about this show but so many more of him discussing Ex Machina. My impression is that he becomes intrigued by a topic (quantum computing and the multiverse for this show), reads about it as much as possible, then uses all that he's learned as a stepping off point for a narrative. It seemed to me that he's more interested in generating a discussion than trying to accomplish anything. He talks about how most of his films are financial failures, and he didn't seem too bothered by it. This episode disappointed me as I was watching it, as I was hoping we were going to get some forward plot movement and it ended up feeling like more of a flashback episode. But after going back and watching a few scenes, I appreciated it more than during that first viewing. At the lecture, Katie is pissed at the lecturer for leaving out the Everett interpretation, which is the multi-verse theory that Forest is opposed to. It made me wonder if Katie really has no respect for Forest and his one-world/deterministic belief system, and that most of the episode was her using his quantum computer to validate her belief in the multi-verse. Loved Forest walking down the street as all of the other possibilities for the car accident played out. It was fascinating to see how a catastrophe exists only a split second away.
  11. Tony and Kristin were hilarious. They're the only reason I slowed down to watch those silly wedding scenes. Loved Kristin grabbing Chadbot's hand while he was holding the gun on her. At least something in this episode was character driven. If the show insists on being this ridiculous, I'd kinda love it if Marlena ended up pregnant and they did a Who's-The-Daddy storyline. *giggle*
  12. I'd vote for Kayla to be the one to take out Steve's eye. There'd be a kind of tragedy to her finally getting Steve back but him losing the eye in the process. Anna may be an arch nemeses of Stefano but it's never been Stefano's eye. Stefano's body has perished. Good grief, Charlie Brown!
  13. Tony and Anna showed up at DiMera mansion. RoboChad was going to shoot and kill Kate and Gabi but ManipulatedMarlena convinced Stevano to call it off. RoboChad's cellular provider is so awesome that he was able to receive the phone call in the DiMera tunnels just in the nick of time. Then, RoboChad was able to convince Kristin and Tony to go with him for a very special meeting with FATHER. Stevano told ManipulatedMarlena that if she goes back into the closet, she'll find a lovely consolation prize for becoming his Queen of the Something or Other. Abigail talked to Anna but my ears started bleeding and I got distracted. John received a piece of paper but his mouth was moving too quickly for me to understand what he was telling Brady. Hope that helps! :) If we're playing Sophie's Choice, I'd have to pick Hattie. Many moons ago, Marlena was one of my favorites but the current writing team has stripped her of just about everything that made her an interesting character. At least Hattie is good for comedy relief. Adios, Hattie! I'll miss you!
  14. At least Nicole got to be smart enough to realize that Xander was able to alter those test results before she received them. Nicole and Abe were fun because Abe talked to Nicole like someone who's known her long enough to know his advice was falling on deaf ears. The crazy thing about Xander paying off the hospital staff is that he's handing off a fat envelope of cash in the hospital lobby. I don't know if we're supposed to think that Xander is just that shameless about his criminal behavior, or the show feels some necessity to use that specific set.
  15. Oh, Evan. I'm so disappointed you fell for Sonny's emotional manipulation.
  16. It shrinks down to letterbox as Maeve is realizing she's inside a simulation.
  17. That was a fun play on the illusion of free will, where it looks like Maeve is a bad ass in and out of a simulation until the click of a button. "The sooner you come to terms with the fact that you're nothing but a pawn in some sick bastard's game, the sooner we can get on with it.", gave me a good chuckle on the second viewing. He was a part of a simulation that I'm assuming Serac created to see what Maeve knows about Dolores. Thank you! I was hoping someone would know which dragon it was.
  18. I would have loved it if she walked into that meeting, sat down and said, "This doesn't look like anything to me."
  19. Maybe Ron is toying with breaking the fourth wall? It was an odd choice for the show. It's like some of the script writers hate this storyline so much that they're doing anything they can to make it as bad as possible. Initially, I kinda liked Stephen Nichols as a villain but his dialogue is so bad on a daily basis that it's nearly impossible to watch. But honestly, the whole show plays like there's no cohesion behind the scenes and they're all actively conspiring to sabotage each other. Unless they want it to look like a shit show because it gets people to post on Twitter.
  20. While I didn't enjoy this episode as much as I thought I would, this was one of my favorite moments. It's unlikely that lying is a part of Janice's playbook, so it seems safe to assume that Janice cares for Fredwynn if she's willing to shoulder the responsibility of interrupting Simone at her home. I'm not sure that Fredwynn is used to people caring for him on a level that isn't superficial.
  21. Only parts of the car are made of porcelain but Fredwynn was more concerned with impressing the group than providing clarity. I appreciated that Fredwynn was the most determined to project his particular world view onto the quest to find Clara. It's all a grand conspiracy perpetrated by someone at the highest levels of power, and only he can see it. Janice and Simone seem more willing to allow a little fun to coexist with how they see the world. I'm still having trouble getting a good read on Peter. While I'll agree that the show is hardly being subtle about Janice's courageous spirit, I'd say she's more than just a plucky woman. She's also a woman who has regrets about abandoning her dreams by becoming a wife and mother, which has brought her to a place of seeming isolation with a husband who's no longer able to communicate with her. She's terrified of being alone, and I thought that was what was so great about the scene where Fredwynn comes to her home and sees her at her most vulnerable state.
  22. Or show how everyone sees the situation differently.
  23. My impression was that it was really Hope but I've been wrong before. I wouldn't mind a repeat of Gina pretending to be Hope if the show spent a little time exploring how people believe what they want to be true. Confirmation bias is an interesting aspect of human nature, and could be used to drive story. I suspect any writer to bring this up in the "writer's room" would be called a heretic and shown the door, though. If Ciara can enter the lethal injection chamber with a gun and a hostage, it makes total sense that Orpheus can enter the prison in dark sunglasses and a hoodie to have a little tete-a-tete with Clyde.
  24. "Oh, Jenny. Please be a dear and go find another balcony to fall off." Do we really have to trade Gina in for Hope Brady? Even Jennifer smirked like she thought it was kinda funny.
  25. Are we to believe that Dolores is free of her loops, or that that's even a possibility? The most interesting scene to me was when Dolores told the injured Martin Connells (Tommy Flanagan) that humanity was free until they tried to build a god for themselves, which suggests that she believes that freedom is something that can be compromised. Hasn't one of her primary loops been that freedom was something withheld from her that she had to take action to acquire? And now she's projecting her belief in the ability to compromise freedom onto the lowly humans, while seemingly attempting to destroy a giant computer system which currently acts as an oppressor of freedom. Can she ever experience freedom as something that isn't in contrast to being mentally or physically shackled? Am I just talking in loops? It appears as though Liam and FutureJesse are in a similar predicament, as Liam seemed to believe that destroying Rehoboam would result in freedom (was he a fan of Mr Robot?), and FutureJesse gave the impression that deleting his therapy app was a newly found freedom.
