  1. She's a lot younger than Don Johnson, but I thought that Janel Moloney from The West Wing hadn't changed much in 25 years.
  2. He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor, losing to "Richie" in The Bear (whose role at least does include comedy). The 3rd showrunner was up there, too, but didn't speak: Jen Statsky.
  3. 3 new cast members: https://deadline.com/2024/09/snl-season-50-cast-marcello-hernandez-ashley-padilla-1236079790/
  4. I was imagining wanting to eat a ham that shared space with a toilet that people use. Except Mabel and Oliver thought that Charles was imagining Jan. I don't know why he didn't show them the guard-brainy shirt. I agree about the awful contamination of the crime scene once they suspected a crime had been committed. Probably because they selfishly want to make the discoveries for the podcast, and seemingly don't care about convicting the perpetrator. Unless Det. Williams wasn't told that Sass had been in Charles' apartment before winding up in the incinerator, she was extremely negligent to leave the trio free to roam at the crime scene. Yes, I thought the same about calling her cell, but Charles was too distracted to think about it, and Mabel and Oliver didn't want the police to come too quickly.
  5. I thought it was about the fly trapped in the gun, and thought it would lead to the discovery of Sazz's remains covered with flies, but couldn't figure out how a dead body in Charles's apartment wouldn't stink to high heaven. Yes, Gravey did lead them there. The comment about power outages not happening since the incinerator was closed down provides further "evidence" that the incinerator was used shortly before the trio returned to Charles' apartment after they finished recording the podcast, although none of them have mentioned it yet. One of them will probably remember and bring it up next episode when the police are called in. With regard to Selena Gomez' sequined dress with the plunging neckline worn in LA: in my opinion, anyone with more than very small natural breasts wearing that dress without a bra would have had the same issue, no matter what their figure was like. I just don't find breasts hanging low on the torso in a slinky outfit to be particularly attractive on me or anyone else. Proper support would have changed all that. I've seen her on the red carpet and in promotions for the show, and she doesn't normally dress this way, so I doubt it's a personal choice not to wear a bra (which would certainly be her right.) Selena is beautiful, but the dress as worn was simply not flattering. Meryl Streep, Molly Shannon and Eva Longoria are 43, 27, and 17 years older than her, and all were dressed in far more complimentary ways. I especially liked Meryl's outfit that revealed her shoulder while covering most of her arm (not that I'm saying there's anything "wrong" with Meryl's arms!) which might work for a lot of women who don't like to reveal their upper arms, but want something fancy. I thought Meryl looked gorgeous.
  6. Definitely going for it. Jean and Gene were community college professors in this timeline. In the Umbrella timeline, Jean supposedly taught at Harvard and Gene was a MacArthur Fellow. They were hoping for the reset that actually happened. It would be interesting to know if they were indeed in this new timeline, although it may be that anyone who died before The Cleanse in that final timeline would now not exist. (Gene was killed by Abigail, and Jean was shot by Abigail-as-Gene.) Otherwise, anyone who had died in the past 6 years, since the creation of this timeline but before The Cleanse), would also be revived. Jean and Gene really needed to stay alive until The Cleanse. Cell phones: This show would have had some differences if cell phones existed in seasons 1, 3 and 4 (season 2 was mostly in the 1960's, so not so much). Since the final scene showed the Handler using a cell phone, I suppose the creation of the Marigolds somehow prevented the development of this specific technology 9although in real life, their development began decades before the Hargreave children were born).
  7. If you think about it (too much), Five was 13 when he got stuck in the future. Then he was an assassin trapped in a kid's body, plus there were a few apocalypses. We don't know about his private life in the final timeline, but it's possible he's never had significant time alone with any female. So Lila's likely his "first" in a couple of ways (I wonder if she realized that.) It makes sense that he'd fall in love with her.
  8. I wonder who Claire thinks her parents are. (Where was her actual dad, anyway? Was part of Allison's deal with Hargreaves at the end of season 3 that he cease to exist?) And where does Lila's family think the 3 kids came from? Perhaps being on the subway during the Cleanse preserved all their memories as well as the children's very existence.
  9. So by Loki logic, the birth of the children was a Nexus event, resulting in divergent timelines, and the Cleanse reset everything to the "Sacred" timeline?
  10. Jut noticed that Grace (Mom) appears to be a real mother with a baby carriage in the park, although she's not mentioned in the list of cameos at the end of this article: https://www.escapistmagazine.com/the-umbrella-academy-season-4-ending-explained/ And now I just realized that Diego named his oldest child Grace after "Mom". And here's another list of cameos: https://www.harpersbazaar.com/culture/film-tv/g61827352/the-umbrella-academy-season-4-cameo-cast-return/
  11. Although they couldn't have know for sure, that didn't happen. (And if it had, they would have starved, because I don't think they would know how to catch and cook subway rats.) Once the timeline reset, Claire, Grace, the twins and Lila's family were in the park, conveniently the same park as Hazel, Agnes, The Handler, etc. Yeah, that's the only way that could happen. Maybe the problem isn't the Marigold itself (although that's what they seemed to be saying) but the "children" who had actually utilized the Marigold after being trained by Hargreaves (and Viktor, who figured it out on his own.) That would imply that none of the other kids born that day had powers. I do remember that in season 3 with the Sparrow Academy, there were fewer special babies born on the same day than in the original Umbrella Academy timeline. Maybe the 8 of them + Jennifer were the only ones in this final timeline? (After all, Sloane never showed up.) However, I also think there was some Marigold left in the jar after they dosed Klaus, so who knows. Question: when this timeline was created at the end of season 3, and all the Umbrella members, plus Lila were sent there, why wasn't the Hargreaves from that timeline also sent there? Why was it a completely different Hargreaves? Wouldn't he have wanted to be with his resurrected wife? If not, what was in it for him? The knowledge that his wife would be alive and a version of him would get to enjoy her company? How magnanimous of him!
  12. And Lila is definitely a step up from his last "love", Delores the mannequin. Being stuck in time does crazy things to a guy.
  13. Hard to believe that Lila wasn't miserable over being separated from her kids years ago. And she can't be sure if she'll be going back to shortly after she and Five left, or 7 years later, when they'll no longer be little. In spite of the whole icky sleeping-with-your-sister/brother-in-law thing, at least Five isn't really in his 20's; he's actually much older than Lila.
  14. I don't mind the profuse vomiting, but there's no way they could continue riding in that van unless it was fully "decontaminated". And if they didn't stop off to buy mouthwash, there's also no way Ben would have been able to talk to anyone in that diner. (At least they showed that the blown-out windows were covered with something.) I especially liked Allison's new power.
  15. The one taking orders was, I believe, the guy who had delivered microgreens to Carmy earlier in the season and who had asked when the takeout window was reopening. So both he and the other guy used to work at The Original Beef, and are still available to work with Ebraheim now? And getting rid of baskets and silverware will cover their salaries? (It didn't seem as though previous inefficiency was keeping customers away.)
  16. I thought that Sydney showed her how to put the broccoli puree under the roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts instead of pouring it on top (like nachos). It seems like Tina has created that dish herself. Tina's hair was longer in the flashback. Are both Faks brothers on the payroll?
  17. Speaking of Maya, do people think she'll continue to play Kamala Harris through the election? If she becomes President?
  18. Not to defend Deborah, but she wasn't in touch with her sister at all during those years, and probably had no idea if her sister visited or not. But yes, even if she paid for the whole burial, etc. she had no right to unilaterally move them. He told Damien that he hadn't told Deborah yet. And Deborah was distracted when he yelled at her. She probably doesn't even remember that he was mad at her, because, as he said, she doesn't really listen. Deborah would be crazy to give Marcus' job to Damien, if Marcus really leaves. He doesn't have the skills to manage her business affairs.
  19. Nah, Canada's the same as the US.
  20. Which to me, would be weird. Telling the ex before even proposing? Surely she has the right to know first. What if she said no? What if Richie has reacted poorly to the news before she even knew? Speaking of which, Richie continuing to wear his wedding ring after the divorce seems almost stalkerish to me, as if he's saying "you may think we're done, but I don't." It also might send mixed messages to his daughter. Thank goodness he finally took it off. However, a father "stepping back" from his daughter's life because her mother is marrying a nice self-made guy would only be damaging to the child, who would feel rejected. Finally, with his schedule, I don't see how Richie can watch his daughter any day but the restaurant's dark day, Sunday. Although he's cartainly busy working every other night, I don't understand why he has to come to work so early, except to fight with Carmy. When do the servers, whom he supervises, show up for 5:30 service? 1 or 2 pm? He's certainly not reviewing the evolving menu with them early in the day. And it doesn't take that long to set all the tables. Does the front-of-house manager need to be there as early as the chefs? Do chefs even all come in 9 hours before the doors open? I expect to see Nat back in her office 2 weeks after having the baby with a playpen, trying to nurse without Fak barging in. And guess what the baby's 1st word will be? Not "chef". Also, Syd should not have been encouraged to use Pete as her lawyer regarding the partnership agreement, not for her protection, but because if any conflict arises later, it would be presumed by outside fact finders that Pete was protecting the interests of his wife and brother-in-law, not Syd's, which would not be helpful to them.
  21. It's really unlikely to me that Marcus wouldn't have a screen lock on his phone. Phones get lost. And he should know better than to have Deborah listed under her real name.
  22. Jimmy and Kayla's fathers were partners and the families spent a lot of time together. It seems unlikely that Jimmy wouldn't have figured out that Kayla's family wasn't Jewish at some point, even if it was years after the "bat mitzvah". Although Deborah did take DJ on the road with her, I seem to remember a mention in the first season that DJ spent time with her father and aunt, which Deborah did not like.
  23. Men of a Certain Age did a colonoscopy storyline where all of the guys went to a hotel together so they'd provide support to each other but each had their own bathroom when the prep hit. Speaking of colonoscopy prep, that part of the episode seemed to have been written by people who have never done one. You can't sip random amounts of Metamucil (in martini glasses or otherwise). You need to consume specific amounts of your prep solution with copious amounts of liquid at specific intervals or you risk an incomplete cleanse of your colon. Then the GI doctor won't be able to perform a proper colonoscopy and you'll have to do the whole thing over again. (And yes, I know it's a comedy, but it was so far from reality that it took me out of those scenes.)
