  1. Yeah; why aren't people flocking to their house? Their location isn't exactly a secret.
  2. I think that they're each fortunate to have found someone else who was interested in attending any church - not a given for gay men in a small town. One of them might have resented the other one's interest in organized religion. It's still an interest that they share, even if they practice it under different circumstances.
  3. Yes, that just seemed lazy.
  4. That is much nicer (and linguistically sound) then saying he specializes in playing mythological characters who are known for being short.
  5. Pants. (Although I don't think the lack of bothers Trevor very much, because based on the evidence we've seen, he could take off his jacket and wrap it around his waist if he wanted to.)
  6. I had to look up who played Dirk Dashers. His name is Christopher Fitzgerald, and he played the original Boq in Wicked on Broadway. Speaking of colorblindness, when Dirk and DeeDee were filming the introduction to their new product line at the beginning of the show, I kept thinking how badly DeeDee's bright red dress clashed with Dirk's maroon suit, and thought that one of them should really have worn green.
  7. Jonah was intelligent. I don't know how Matt made it through nursing school. (I realize that Jonah dropped out of business school, but he was still smart.)
  8. It was the older kids being taught the step dance by Janine who hadn't heard of Run DMC. Barbara's kids were supposed to sing Deck the Halls, but I had serious doubts about that, too, because the 3rd line is "don we now our gay apparel" and we all know how silly kids can be. And there's no way Barbara is going to start an explanation with kindergarteners of what "gay" means in that context as opposed to what they think it means. I think the chef rejected pistachio for chocolate! (haven't rewatched)
  9. So pessimistic! There's no possible way the authenticator would have suspected that barely dried modern ink on top of old paper wasn't identical to >200 year old ink faded with time along with the paper on which it was inscribed! With a dip pen that likely dripped. Also good to know that an amateur calligrapher can match anyone's handwriting, even an antiquated one. (I also kept reflecting on how spelling wasn't always uniform back then, how the Long s might have been used, etc.) That part of the story was very naive.
  10. Ava said she had already visited her in her nursing home, and proudly recounted her grandmother's annoying shenanigans while visiting.
  11. That's correct. I guess there are no Jehovah's Witnesses at Abbott.
  12. So the hospital has a Lucite-encasing machine? Am I missing something about how Bruce created the footstool? As petty as Bruce is, Ron is coming off as even worse. Last week, it was the whole business with Serena's car (even though she didn't want to file a complaint, I certainly hope he paid for the damage-that wasn't even mentioned), and this week he basically interfered with a surgery. I guess while Bruce was creating his Nutrageous work of art, Ron somehow was able to create a recording and swap it for the correct one in the operating suite? Was it on tape? Was it digital? None of this was believable. A surgeon may have down time, but an attending doctor should be constantly busy. I doubt he could even have a regular date with a candy bar in the stairwell. Matt also seems to have too much time on his hands. Hospitals are generally way understaffed and nurses are overworked. It's also intrusive to have a video crew taping patients, including some who may be unconscious or have mental difficulties. Significant waivers would have to be signed, one would think, as the filming is not for purposes of medical necessity. Very different from filming a paper company, a parks department, or a group of vampires, and even more intrusive then filming in a school (maybe that's a condition of a child being allowed to attend Abbott Elementary.) If the show were funnier, I wouldn't be thinking about this as much.
  13. Remember first season when Barbara's daughter felt that way about Barbara?
  14. Me too. But the 1.5 hour response time to the medical alert alarm was scary. As soon as he said he was going to see Vixen and Dancer (when he was at Janine's house, not when he was dropping bills outside the club), I figured that's where was headed. With regard to both "reveals," I don't like to brag, but I've seen TV before. Maybe too much TV? I just couldn't feel Jacob's panic when I was pretty sure the uncle wasn't dead. I didn't particularly care about Mr. Johnson's final destination, but it also didn't seem like he would be so careless as to scatter all that cash outside the club. I did laugh at the silly product placement with regard to Amazon and the actual Amazon box that Janine tried to give to Ava. So now I know Amazon has pajamas for people whose feet are an unusual size for their body! Is there anyone watching this show who is now more likely to shop for holiday gifts on Amazon than they otherwise would have? (I guess it's better than an additional ad interrupting the show, though.) I thought that Melissa's sister looked like she had Bell's Palsy before she said she did. That can't be easy to maintain for an extended period of time (unless the actress actually had it), and was an unusual joke. Janine and Gregory were cute together.
  15. If he says "bat", he automatically changes into one, apparently. But does it work the other way? Maybe he can transform without saying it when he's in a hurry, but he usually does. By the way, we've answered the question from a few shows ago about whether Guillermo has retained his van Helsing powers after having been a vampire. So I think I was correct when I posited that van Helsing powers only come into play against conventional vampires, and not energy vampires (which is how Colin Robinson could punch Guillermo twice.)
  16. Don't forget the genuine Rolex! (Are they returnable?) Was it insured in case it was stolen? (What if the insurance company found out that the door was intentionally left unlocked and the watch was used as bait?)
  17. Elliott's cigar kept getting longer and shorter in the balcony scene.
  18. A future schedule wouldn't matter; did Emily find where the old schedule was? I know that a lot of the residents are recognizable actors, but I specifically wanted to point out that Florence is played by Margaret Avery, who played Shug Avery in the 1st Color Purple movie.

  20. From Vulture recap: https://www.vulture.com/article/what-we-do-in-the-shadows-recap-season-6-episode-8.html "Those particularly in tune with human comedy may recognize the reference baked into this week’s premise: Guest star Zach Woods and Mark Proksch were both part of the ensemble cast of The Office, so when Colin says that he and Joel worked together “pushing paper around” a few years back, he’s pulling Dunder Mifflin into the world of What We Do in the Shadows."
  21. He saw Nandor in his white sweat-ed shirt in the background of the episode trying to hide and failing. The director said they'd take him out in post, but they did not.
  22. Nandor and Nadja each likely killed a person. The Staten island murder rates just soared.
  23. Exactly. If he really wanted to have kids, he couldn't just wait for a miracle. Whether he pursued surrogacy or adoption, he would have needed a steady income. Or to have looked for a partner with one who also wanted kids. He never took any steps to achieve that goal.
