I thought that it didn't make sense that according to the flight manager who asked them to sign, the police had asked for the waiver. The police weren't running the mission or encouraging anyone to go into space, so had no standing or reason to ask for a waiver. It's the flight program that needs the waivers to diminish the likelihood of a successful lawsuit. The writers had no reason to frame the request that way, even though it was a fake request. Speaking of not making sense, I know we are not seeking perfect realism from this show, but it makes no sense that Elsbeth is the one removing batteries from hoverboards or otherwise getting personally involved in the chain of evidence. She should be observing (and I suppose offering advice), not performing police duties, even simple ones. Having worked in the NYC criminal justice system, I can easily imagine how a cross-examination of whoever is testifying about a piece of evidence by a defense attorney would go (assuming the defendant went to trial instead of taking a plea, and hadn't actually confessed.) Let's take the hoverboard example: "Officer so-and-so, please tell us about the battery in the hoverboard." "Well, we took it out and found the point of a space pen...." "We?" "Actually, it was Ms. Tascioni who took it out." "Who is Ms. Tascioni?" "She's a lawyer sent by the Justice Department under a consent decree to observe the Police Department." "Why did the Justice Department send Ms. Tascioni to observe the Police Department?" "Well, there had been some corruption in the Department." "Some corruption?" And off to the races they'd go with questions that would raise the specter of massive police corruption in the eyes of the jury, possibly enough to cause at least one juror to have a reasonable doubt about the defendant's guilt. Whereas, if Elsbeth was actually observing, instead of doing, her name and the previous finding of corruption might not come up at all. This show is extremely unlike real life in that the arrestees all seem to confess to Elsbeth, which would make the corruption argument more difficult. It's a more satisfying ending for a show like this, but not realistic for educated people who have no doubt watched Law and Order and know they shouldn't say anything before speaking to a lawyer. Have we seen an episode where the perpetrator maintained their innocence after Elsbeth solved the case instead of immediately confirming her conclusion? Another little thing, but I don't even get why Neal was called "Snoozer." Before it was explained, i thought that perhaps he had fallen asleep publicly at Davos. But, no, Angela Merkel was the snoozer. She should have been the one who was embarrassed. I'm sure she's heard plenty of boring stuff before without falling asleep. I guess Neal was so sensitive, Gavin's lame insult worked, but it really shouldn't have.

In order to get paid, he needs a social security #. To be honest, he would also have needed a resumé, with verifiable recommendations and education info. But no legitimate business is paying him without reporting it to the IRS, so they'd need his ss #, at the very least. That's why, before he said he was using a fake name, I was surprised that the company hadn't been informed that his ss # belonged to a dead man. You also can't work solely at night unless you're only trading in companies in opposite time zones, unless I misunderstand how the business works or what he was actually doing.

1) Could Hetty (literally) let her hair down if she wanted? 2) I presume Alberta could hold onto the "little hat" that Thor likes to make fun of, instead of wearing it. Or perhaps hold it between her legs, out of sight. 3) Could Trevor remove his jacket and tie it around his waist if he wanted to? Or fashion underpants out of his undershirt if he's wearing one? More importantly: 4) How has Michael Jackson/Trevor been paid up to now? 5) And how fast must Trevor be with the computer to be able to effect trades? How had Jay not noticed the computer being used for hours at a time?

S01.E04: Todd’s Mom
ItCouldBeWorse replied to chitowngirl's topic in Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage
Nice to see Casey Wilson. But there's a real difference, Todd's mom, between a 40+ year old with an 18-year-old son lusting after her son's friends, and a 30-year-old dating/married to an 18-year-old (although still not ideal, in my opinion.) Although Georgie did dangerous things on his own, he was always very responsible with his younger siblings, when push came to shove. It doesn't surprise me that he would be the same with Todd and his friends, now that he's a father. -
In the premier of season 2, after breaking up with Tariq, Janine fell behind in rent and Jacob saw a rent-due notice. Then her car got booted because of Tariq's unpaid parking tickets. "Jacob loans Janine money for her rent and to get her car back, claiming he was going to use it on student loans, but his confidence that the president will implement loan forgiveness is what encourages his kind deed." https://www.tvinsider.com/1061838/abbott-elementary-season-2-premiere-reaction-gritty/ If Janine had been giving Jacob $20 or even $10 from every paycheck since then, she'd have paid him back long ago. It should bother him every time they eat out or go to a bar together, but he loves her even more than she loves Barbara. I thought she did forget, and was annoyed at Janine for being passive aggressive instead of just reminding her. His girlfriend's son, who was in Barbara's class last year, is in Gregory's class this year. That's why Tariq said that Gregory had "drafted" him ( I don't think he was kidding.)

I wish they would have given an explanation for why he was missing, like he lost a bet and now has to do xxx for 24 hours, or something. Otherwise, we might think he fell in a well! Yes, because no one mentioned Sas's absence, I kept waiting for him to turn up at some crucial point. I will also accept this explanation in the next episode! Another great idea!

It's at least a 4.5 hour drive between Staten Island and NH, so Lazlo and Nadja were strangely confident that they could fit all that into one night, including the drive home, prior to the sun coming up.
-
Lazlo joined the British Navy partially for the sun? I doubt it.

But Nicky wasn't a witch, just witch-adjacent. Unless it's different because she was really waiting for a witch's unborn child. so she stayed on the job for 6 years until completion. I think Agatha would have mentioned that. And Rio. But, who knows? Agatha's wording ("I made you from scratch") made me think Nicky was an example of parthenogenesis ("virgin" birth), but I guess she meant that she hadn't used a spell or hex to conceive him. As Wanda later did?

I didn't understand why he didn't create some thunder before Jay sold Sam. He knows Thor has that power, and it wasn't a rainy day, so that should have made him realize the ghosts were trying to contact him. Oops. As reminded belie by Annber03, that's not Thor's power. This, too. Yes, that's a pretty specific sentence unless she had petrified someone or something before. Her later explanation made no sense.
-
She does, but before she could get William, Billy took him over. Therefore, she's owed a soul. If you remember, in Episode 1, when they were fighting, Agatha actually said that Rio couldn't kill her, to which Rio replied that she could make her suffer. She hasn't attempted to kill anyone that we've seen. Nicholas was supposed to either be stillborn, or die right after being born. She was simply waiting for him to emerge. That appears to be correct.

And one of the monster's hands is clearly from a Black person.

Was Román Zaragoza (Sas) off filming something else? I feel like he would have known that the statue wasn't really Sam. Did Patience herself actually believe that she had this previously unknown power? Sam really did look lovely in that dress. Empire waist dresses are also a great way to camouflage a very newly post-partum body, and I'm betting that's why it was chosen. The Regency period, from which that dress dates, was more than 70 years before Hetty's time, so unless Hetty also wore it to a costume party, it wasn't from her wardrobe.

Some of the comedy is just too broad in this show, like when Mandy starts to cry when she is supposed to be serving the family with the baby. We've all seen this trope before. I was more interested in the outcome of the bank robbery. With regard to the brother, I guess Georgie will take a hug from whoever is willing to give one. I really hope that Georgie and Mandy's bed doesn't share a wall with her parents' bed.
-
Alex from last season (who lived across the street and watched The Price is Right with his grandmother instead of going to school) might know. Unless he's in bed by the time it comes on. Yeah, that made no sense unless they have a school-wide rule about not bringing in any homemade food for distribution to the class. I didn't understand the part of the opening where Janine asked the little girl in the curly red wig if she was Ice Spice, the little girl said something that sounded like "no, lice" and Janine made her take the wig off and put it with the rejected costumes. That's not how she would react to lice, so what did the little girl say?

S04.E10: My Best Friend’s Wedding
ItCouldBeWorse replied to chitowngirl's topic in Only Murders In The Building
The detective mentioned a possible siting of Jan after the shooting at the photo shoot (although that was probably not accurate). She said the police were looking for her. I'm more interested in if Jan waited to use the bathroom until Charles was out of the apartment, was she taking turns in other apartments connected to the tunnels, or was she using the actual tunnels? Has she showered in all this time? (She wasn't wearing the outfit she changed into at Charles's apartment after changing out of the guard's brain-splattered shirt.) -
S04.E09: Escape From Planet Klongo

Mabel actually took the "peasant drink" from Oliver at the hospital, but otherwise you are correct. She didn't know he was the murderer at that point. She only knew that a copy of the script with Sazz's name on it as author was in the box of beer. It's pretty common for a director to work with crew members he's worked with previously. Agreed. -
S01.E02: Some New York Nonsense
ItCouldBeWorse replied to chitowngirl's topic in Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage
She had no idea what was going on with Missy, which would make Georgie feel he couldn't possibly leave Medford. And she still doesn't. I think after visiting the cemetery with Missy, Georgie should have driven straight to Connie's and told her that Missy needed her. If her mother can't give her the attention she needs, than her grandmother has to step in. Mary will have to cope. I hope we find out if George had life insurance. We don't know that a lack of money is contributing to Mary's issues. Right now, she's only supporting 2 people (and the mortgage) because Sheldon has a full ride, including transportation back-and-forth. Perhaps we'll find out that she's selling the house because George didn't plan properly for an event like this, despite having had a heart attack, or perhaps said heart attack made it impossible for him to purchase affordable life insurance. -
Sas already told her that "girlfriend" meant "sort of like a wife, but they're not actually married yet." They can't keep changing the definition, can they? On the other hand, if Patience thinks Sam's father's girlfriend/"wife" can procreate with him, she is very naive indeed.
-
Yes, but if she eavesdropped on future conversations and overheard the term "girlfriend", she'd know she'd been lied to. Which still could have happened after they lied to her and they all went back inside.

It does make me wonder what Gregory would think about having children, if Janine were to eventually want some. They are notoriously messy. And Gregory's dad was not a great role model. Now to the part that takes me out of the show: I don't think $50 would get you all the cages, bowls, equipment and initial food supplies, never mind the pets (even with a free guinea pig.) And the teachers are supposed to pay for additional food and supplies themselves, when they're always short of school supplies? Do the parents show up at school on a Friday to get the guinea pig, cage and food, or does a little kid take it on the bus? (I certainly hope the fish aren't going back-and-forth.) Also, guinea pigs aren't hamsters and can't live cooped up in a cage that you can easily carry. They need a larger enclosure, or to come out of the cage frequently. Maybe they're doing that in the classroom, but it's tricky when sending one to a home with unknown dangers, like dogs. Finally, kids with asthma may react very poorly to a guinea pig. Lots of inner-city kids have asthma.

I don't think he really believed Jay felt that way, but was confused enough to agree to separate rooms. Once he saw the blood, he figured the whole thing was a plot by Sam to keep them apart. How long are Thor and Flower going to be able to keep the nature of their relationship a secret from Prudence? They are physically affectionate with each other in public. I don't think Flower would agree to lie about being married. It's a good thing Patience never learned of the throuple (although Nancy's a loose cannon), or of Nigel and Isaac's relationship and their sexual preferences. She would consider Alberta a loose woman, and Carol a harlot. How can she bare (not trying to be funny) to even look at Trevor's exposed legs? That's why I don't think she'll be a permanent member of the cast, but will actually be sucked off (yeah, the joke writes itself.) Only if Carol repents for her many sins. I agree. After all, the Puritans didn't survive as a culture, even though they were slightly less rigid than Prudence was. Pretty sure it was a recorder - even worse!

Yes, the bracha (blessing) before singing the Torah portion was accurate, but the parsha (Torah portion) wasn't leined (sung with proper cantillation). He also started reading it in the middle of a verse, which doesn't make any sense. This article implies that Joe Locke did recite the bracha, though, so I don't understand why he wasn't taught to chant a few words of the parsha: https://forward.com/fast-forward/666016/agatha-all-along-bar-mitzvah-william-kaplan/

S01.E01: The 6:10 to Lubbock
ItCouldBeWorse replied to SoMuchTV's topic in Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage
Why would Mandy's mom want Mandy's dad to fire Georgie? Did she want Mandy and CeeCee to starve? Did she really think that would make them return home?
