  1. I am a member of the tribe too. Happy Hanukkah, by the way!
  2. Yes. 99% of the times, her being topless added nothing to the scene. Incredibly tacky.
  3. I am a huge, huge MM fan and was looking forward to this. Wow. The script is awful. Even the Blonde miniseries with Poppy Montgomery as Marilyn did a better job with the material. That said, Ana de Armas is the lone saving grace. Great performance all around.
  4. Sheryl is pure evil at this point, there is no redemption for her. I wonder if Grace will be framed for the murders? Can't wait for the next episode.
  5. Amazing finale that left me wanting for more. Romola shone in every scene. So many moving moments: Somerset's death, Sir Pedro's realization that Somerset truly considered him a friend, the powerful dialogue between the sisters - You make it hard (to love you) and Mary's reply: And you make it easy (to not love you) - WOW. Season 2 can't some soon enough. Here's to hoping for a longer season. Or 2 more seasons.
  6. I find Elizabeth extremely unlikable. Everything about her, her, behavior, her personality - bleargh. Another minor peeve: in the scene with Mary, after Mary says "what cannot be cured, must be endured", Elizabeth says "I shall endeavor to remember that, *Mary*" with such a weird emphasis on *Mary*. I know it's an acting choice, probably dictated by the director, but it makes no sense to me. Maybe the dislike I have for the character soured my perception of the actress. Or maybe it is that next to the marvelous Romola Garai, she looks like the weakest link. Also, she tends to whisper a lot of her lines (which is an annoying trait of many actors when they want to convey *emotion*)
  7. Yes. I was wondering the same thing. Surely it can't be unintentional. Oh and good catch, SnazzyDaisy, on the Andy surrounded by the sigils thing. Wow. Poor guy.
  8. Holy cow so, in the series, the Elizabeth/Seymour sex was real. I thought that last scene from the previous episode was just a fantasy in Elizabeth's head.
  9. I have the same doubt. I took it as a fantasy but I guess they left it intentionally dubious. I have the same doubt, part 2. I mean, they wouldn't just make that up, right?
  10. Yep. I feel Andy is not long for this world. :*( Sheryl is just evil and despicable. I truly despise and hate her. Leland at least makes me laugh. Like here:
  11. Yes, it's our delightful Lina de Cardones that Mary referred to. I miss Lina and Oviedo! I liked Pedro too. I am partial to those who protect Mary because well, I love her.
  12. The CGI stag was ridiculous. Romola Garai is just wonderful as Mary. I like the actress playing Elizabeth too. The whole cast is great, actually, and so far I am thoroughly enjoying the series.
  13. Aw, no "next on Evil" bit with George the night terror demon at the end? I'm bummed.
  14. My favorite character and an unforgettable moment
  15. It never crossed my mind, when I watched the episode, that it could be Kirby. I thought the person hanging was just the previous owner who got fed up with the curse. But I guess it could be Kirby, as, upon rewatching, there was a rather slow zooming into the blue sneakers. Was she wearing those? Why would she send herself back to 1848, though? There was nothing significant to her life or timeline that would suggest it. It makes no sense. Anyway, it's sad that everyone's lives got back on track, except Kirby's. And if she was the suicide victim at the beginning, what a freakin depressing conclusion to an otherwise intriguing story. Edited to add: I read a few recaps/reviews on the finale, and none of them peg Kirby as the person hanging from the banister in 1848. https://www.avclub.com/shining-girls-finale-explained-interview-elisabeth-moss-1848997852 https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/03/shining-girls-ending-explained/ And here: https://www.hellomagazine.com/film/20220603139841/shining-girls-apple-tv-drama-ending-explained/?fbclid=IwAR0utdPvq9W_jnEreRlV0pwd0M0ypNG3POcQk211UL-6258crQvUr7_itUU "In the opening moments of the episode, in a flashback, it is revealed the house comes into the ownership of whoever is first to step into it following the death of its current occupant, with a man from the 1800s discovering it after its original owner kills himself. This is why Harper is the only one who can control the time travel element - as he killed the current occupant after breaking in" Anyway, the guy from 1848 is the same guy Harper killed in the 1920s when he first broke into the house.
  16. Yay Buddha!! I couldn't be happier with the winner. It was obvious he would be crowned Top Chef, no suspense at all - he was miles ahead in technique and flavor. And my other favorite Jackson played a part in the win. Buddha's food is so stunning. I love how he doesn't care if something is dated or from the 80s. He cooks what he wants and always finds a way to make it interesting. I shed a tear over his dad's story. Loved it!! Great season.
  17. It's very creepy. Like a robot. I dont know if its an acting choice, or if they are not very good at acting.
  18. Aw Miguel! Great episode. Some real emotion. As others have said, a shame that it took 6 seasons for us to get a Miguel centric episode. I love his and Rebecca's love story. It's the kind of mature, deep love most of us aspire to have on day. I cried :*( and also searched for a coquito recipe :)
  19. I looove Jackson, but yeah, I would have been pissed if he was not eliminated. Wtf was he thinking. Bad dessert, bad decisions, bad front of the house performance. He brought the team down. I don't get why Evelyn went along with all his bad choices.
  20. I looove Jackson! Hope he goes far!
  21. This episode was a true chore to watch.
  22. Season 2 was in 2006, he's just 16 years older and also looks like someone who's had a bit too much sun exposure over the years. He's still handsome though.
  23. Miguel is the man. I love him and I love his and Rebecca's love story. It feels much more real than the storybook whatever of Jack and Rebecca. I liked the conclusion to Nicky's search for Sally. Too bad she's married to kinda of an asshole (Jeffrey Nordling always plays assholes). I'm going to miss this show.
  24. My mom used to wear those. Back in the 70s.
