  1. Yes. That was truly the highlight of the series. True. I think the series didn't explore it clearly - she's an expert on those things but didn't see it at all with the man she was married for almost 20 years, hence the book's title "You should have known". It was never a murder mystery per se, though it's what DEK *tried* to accomplish here.
  2. They totally do. It wasn't Hugh's bad acting, it was Jonathan's bad acting. That was kinda brilliant.
  3. I did notice the forehead wrinkle/expression line. I wonder if it's CGI? Anyway, the forehead wrinkle deserves a nod in the next Golden Globes.
  4. Wow. Jonathan did it (which should have been obvious, given the DNA evidence). Color me underwhelmed. Did we need to stretch this for 6 long episodes? Hell no. The only interesting thing about it was Grace setting things up with the prosecutor and manipulating Jonathan and Haley into letting her testify.
  5. Goodbye, series! It was nice watching you. And Catherine wore a fabulous black dress as a farewell. I enjoyed how they ended things, without Catherine's last, miserable years. It was refreshing. I know the free bird thing's got to be a metaphor, though, who is the bird supposed to represent? Not Catherine or Mary, for sure, as they were never free of Henry's horrors.
  6. The only way that Randall's long lost bio mom story could make sense is if he finds out that Laurel lived (got her act together etc) and William knew about it, and lied to him. That way, he would forgive Rebecca once and for all for lying about William to him. Either way, it's an awful storyline.
  7. Yep. Love me some Olly Rix. Wasn't the technique the executioner used - to throw something near the victim to make them look the other way so they won't notice the sword coming - actually used with Ann Boleyn? Either way, poor Stafford. Article on the finale: Anne will not be given the time of day in Catherine's series. Oh yeah! Don't lose your head! Get your first look at Anne Boleyn on The Spanish Princess
  8. Occam's razor: If only Jonathan's and the husband's DNA were found on the murder scene, it's got to be one of the two. Unless the killer used astronaut gear.
  9. Maybe Jonathan, being the sociopath we now know he is, manipulated Henry into hiding the murder weapon for him.
  10. Yes. Maybe because Jonathan was acting to fake regret and sadness over his sister's death, which he hadn't, according to his mother. I think most of what I thought was Hugh's poor acting is actually because Jonathan's a sociopath that fakes feelings. That's why his confession that he loved Elena was so cringe-y and seemed so fake.
  11. So, Henry is a sociopath just like his dad, and he did it. Damn.
  12. Poor Stafford. And Oviedo payed for him to have a good death. My heart. Oviedo is the best character. The moral center. I think we'll get to see at least Wolsey's fall. I am looking forward to the finale. Wonder if Lina and Oviedo will go back to Spain, though, from what I've read, the real Lina stayed in England.
  13. So, apparently, with only 2 episodes to go, the Boleyn angle won't play a big part at all. Neither will the fall of Margaret Pole, Thomas More, Stafford, Wolsey, etc I hope they include Katherine's famous, heartbreaking speech at Blackfriars (“Take of me some pity and compassion, for I am a poor woman, and a stranger born out of your dominion. I have here no assured friends, and much less impartial counsel"). Lina will probaly be shown here as the last loyal lady in waiting to Katherine, who was with her until the end. It was nice to see Rosa, and that her character got some closure. Henry is still an ass and the costumes are glorious, as usual.
  14. This storyline with Randall's bio mom makes no sense at all. So are we to believe that William never went back to the apartment he shared with her? He never bothered to check if she was really dead? He never initiated whatever proceedings are necessary to bury a loved one? What did he do with the apartment and her things? It is obvious this storyline was never part of the big plan, was added like, yesterday - "hey guys, hear me out: what if Randall's bio mom is actually alive"? And someone thought this was a good idea? This is so stupid, it makes me angry. So now they'll have to retcon things to acommodate this BS . Either William is a crazy person who never bothered to even bury his dead girlfirend/mother of his child, or he lied to Randall abut her. Either way, it sucks. I still hate Miss Nepotism and her relationship with Kevin. auuugh. On a lighter note, Jack's scenes didn't bother/bore me this week. That's the way to incorporate Jack into the current storylines: something we haven't seen before, not rehashing the day the twins were born for the 10000th time.
  15. Grey's could use the "Meredith collapses" opportunity to pull a Dallas. Derek's death and everything that followed was a hallucination Meredith had in the parking lot. I know, I know, but a girl can dream.
  16. That was a real "what the F..." moment. "Katherine of Aragon: Wife. Queen. Warrior. Surgeon" A bit too far, I'd say.
  17. Great episode. I feel terrible seeing how many of these characters will die by Henry's orders: Stafford, MargaretPole, Thomas More... I don't know at what point in history the series will end, I almost hope it doesn't cover the "crazy Henry murdering everyone" part. In a way, I kinda wish season 2 never happened, so we could be left with the young, vibrant and in love couple of Henry and Katherine...
  18. After watching episode 3, I wonder if Grace does things she doesn't remember after. The opening credits seem to hold some clues - something happened in her childhood. Maybe she witnessed a crime? Her father killing her mother? It also shows a dark figure staring at baby Grace - or is it her own dark side?
  19. So the theory that Grace might have these fugue states where she does things she does not rememeber after might be true... hmmmm. The boy playing Grace and Hugh's son looks nothing like either of them. I wonder if it's intentional? Elena's husband stalking Grace makes zero sense. I thought he was going to drop the baby with her.
  20. It was hilarious when Henry's sister Margaret said he was fat. WTF. I know the real Henry got fat and all, but it's not believable to call him fat when the actor is so young and fit and gorgeous - same as on The Tudors, where Anne of Cleves and Catherine Howard were supposed to be repulsed by an aging, smelly and obese Henry, but Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was scorching hot and super trim. The only thing they did there to age Henry was a few strands of grey hair. Anyway, I knew it was Lady Blount who was Henry's mistress, so no surprises. And yes, the costumes were gorgeous as ever. Did Angus plan on betraying Margaret all along, or he did it in the end just to save his own hide?
  21. The season is off to an underwelming start. Oof. It's kinda painful to say it, but Jack Pearson has overstayed his welcome. I am *so* not interested in revisting the day the twins were born and so on. There is nothing left about Jack that is worth telling, I think. His story has come full circle. Enough. Jack and William kinda met in the hospital. Oh boy. Just no. And Randall's long lost bio mother may be alive? Another no. This is Us used to be good soap opera; now, it's starting to resembla a bad, trite one. Kevin and Madison? Ugh. I hate what they're doing there (started off as a fling but will probably turn into an EPIC! STORYBOOK! LOVE!). I despise this storyline, maybe I wouldn't hate it so much if the actress wasn't the showrunner's wife. It just reeks of nepotism and I cannot stand her or the character. I think this may be my last season with this show.
