  1. He does have an analytical mind, but he cooks with his heart. I don't see him as cold and calculating. Yes, he's in it to win, but he does have a genuine passion for all things food. And - I'll say it again - so talented. In last season's finale Padma said there was nothing wrong with the other contestant's food - the only problem was that they were being judged against Buddha's. He is that good..
  2. Amar 😭 and Sara 😭 😭 😭 I can't believe Gabri is still there. He is damn lucky he got paired with Buddha.
  3. I am sad to see Nicole go. I like all the chefs, except for villain Tom. I won't be sorry to see him go (if he goes - he's getting the winner's edit). Buddha is just so so talented. Not only at cooking, but at conceptualizing and managing the team, giving good critique that actually helps his teammates etc. I will be very sad if he doesn't make it to the finale. I'd love a Buddha, Sara and Amar finale, and would be ecstatic with a win any of these three. I laughed at Buddha's "I'm screaming on the inside". And the tomato tea? I can't even imagine what that would taste like, but everyone thought it was amazing. Again: so, so talented. Ali is lucky his team won. Had they lost, he'd be gone.
  4. Gabri's poutine looked yummy. I'd love to try a good poutine, but it isn't easy to find in my neck of the woods. As soon as his team got only vegetables, I knew they were going to win, that seems to be a recurring theme on Top Chef - team lose challenge, team can't get any proteins, team make do with vegetarian dishes & end up winning the challenge. Is german Tom getting the winner's edit? I fear he is. He's going far, I think. I knew Amar would be in trouble when he was featured so prominently in the beginning. I'm glad he wasn't eliminated. When it came down to Amar and Charbel I was like, it's going to be Charbel cause the editing can't be that obvious lol.
  5. A lot of people disliked Carrie. I don't know why. I think she's a doll.
  6. Add me to team Sara. I hated her in the beginning of her original season but grew to like her a lot and I think she deserved to win. But then, I always like the weirdos everybody else hates - Carrie Baird, Sara, Marjorie, Buddha...
  7. I haaate german Tom, thank you Top Chef for providing me with a villain to despise. I thought he would be in the bottom. So disappointed. I was surprised to see Amar doing something so cheffy. Good for him for not staying in his comfort zone and not being a one-note chef. Dale's choices confuse me. Alas, hope he is gone for good. I like him, but he is not on the same level as the other chefs. At least in the context of this competition. Victoire's time is up, too.
  8. I don't think people see Dale as a villain. I certainly don't. I mean, he was unfortunate in his treatment of May, but bygones, unless he does something like that again. I think german Tom stole the villain spot for now...
  9. Yes, Jeremy. Ugh. One of the worst winners along with that guy Nick that inexplicably beat Nina.
  10. Yes, that's her, Marjorie!! I ended up rooting for her, though I wasn't crazy about her in the beginning - just like Kentucky Sara in her season.
  11. I thought Sylwia would win. Damn. I kinda hate Tom now. But yeah, nothing beats a good steak sandwich. I just thought hers was more refined and elaborated.
  12. I liked Tom up until this episode but spending most of the budget on his horrible dish was so selfish. That said, Polish Potato Lady just needs to stop putting dessert items on her dishes. It's the second or third time the judges complain that her savory dish ate like a dessert. I like Nicole and the food I'd like to eat the most is hers, Sara's and Buddha's, his dessert looked great, and banoffee is love. Edited to add I like Amar and his food too. I remember I wanted him to win his season so badly. I don't even remember who the winner was. There was also a great female chef that was eliminated in the semifinals - she was badass.
  13. I knew Buddha was in trouble when his dish was the only one that didn't get an on air compliment. I don't think Gabri was ever in danger of being eliminated, as they liked his tortillas and the fish. I really like this group of chefs, this is the first time I like every one of the chefs at this point in the competition. But I'm obviously rooting for mah boy Buddha. I like Kentucky Sarah too. I wanted her to win her season & would love to try her food. That brisket looked yummy.
  14. I am so happy Luciana is gone. She was totally out of her league. Haven't liked her from her Top Chef Brasil season and haven't liked her here. Good riddance. I wanted to eat Amar, Victoire and Nicole's dish, and also Buddha's apple pie. I love him, hope he goes far.
  15. Aww I love May! She's so rootable. I felt like she lost because of Dale and not the other way around. Well, they weren't a good match and he didn't really accept her suggestions. Anyway, elimination challenges should be solo, I think, or at least with people they choose. It's not fair to be paired up with someone you don't jell with. I watched Luciana's season on Top Chef Brasil, and aghhh, I cannot stand her. She totally benefitted from Buddha doing, well, everything.
  16. I can't believe they killed Duarte. And he had much more chemistry with Liv than Stabler. Oh well, the minute he jokingly made a pass on her, I knew he was toast. I like moneybags cop. I wish he'd stayed longer, too. He was actually interesting! And had chemistry with Olivia. Right? I kind of dumbfounded that they wasted such a good character. Damn, I am pissed.
  17. I was thinking about the post above that said that Joe died and only Rhys survived the drowning, and I think they're right. Joe wouldn't be so cool about murdering poor Eddie and framing Nadia. The last specks of decency in Joe would not allow him to hurt kids; he was always out to protect/save them, even if it meant consequences for him. The way he was just so ok with poor Eddie's and Nadia's faith are pure Rhys.
  18. The second half of the season was good. I loved the finale, Joe finally accepting what he really is - a murderer - and finding the perfect partner in crime and enabler. It would be a perfect series finale, but alas, seem like they are going to churn out one more season out of the cash cow. https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/you-season-5
  19. And then he said, "I'm not a killer" and she was like, okay! It's starting to wear thin my suspension of diesbelief, and I'm someone who used to have a lot of it.
  20. Now that's an understatement. There are so many plot holes. You is starting to overstay its welcome.
  21. After that finale, I need a season 5. Doron is an idiot though.
  22. I just learned about the cancellation. Dang. Was looking forward to Mary and Jane Grey's storylines.
  23. I love this show, it's mindless fun and exactly what I need right now. I am a Gabriel/Emily shipper and hope those crazy kids sort things out, but yeah, his character is so badly written and developod that he sometimes comes off as weak or wimpy. Alfie was like "Ok Emily, byeee". I never bought he was in love with her, or at least that's how the actor plays it, in my opinion. Is next season really the last? I would watch a few more seasons of this. I thought the whole "Emily needs a work visa and the fastest way to get one is marrying a french person" thing would play a role, and that she would end up marrying Gabriel so he could help her out. I also thought Julien was going to report her to the immigration bureau (or whatever it is called) so he could get her out of the way. But these storylines never went anywhere. Sort of a strange season.
