  1. Hee! :-) I didn't even recognize the actress as Mary from Sherlock until I read a post on here a few days ago. She looks so frumpy and down in Mr. Selfridge and in Sherlock she always looked really cute and vibrant. Now that things are looking up for Miss Mardle it looks like she'll get a bit of a well-deserved makeover. Agree with a lot of the sentiments about Rose. How long is she going to keep punishing Harry? Yes, he was an ass for having all of those affairs but she could have left - and she, in fact, did leave for several years it sounds like. I don't condone his behavior but he seems to be trying to make up for it (though its highly likely he'll slip again). She also almost had an affair of her own last season. I wish she would either quit pouting or go back to America if she really can't forgive him and allow them to move on with their life together. It is a difficult choice to make, but I wish she would pick one as this in between stage is making the character completely annoying.
  2. I had heard originally that this was supposed to be a mini or limited series. Anyone know if this is still the case?
  3. I think this is a pretty good description. I still have such a hard time seeing Voight as even remotely "good" after the things he did to Casey and even Hallie. He threatened Hallie, planted coke in their house and then called the cops in to do a search, threatened Casey's life on more than one occasion, etc. And this was all because Casey did the right thing and reported Voight's degenerate son for driving drunk and killing someone. It was a total abuse of power on Voight's part and I hate that IA not only helped get him out of jail but they allowed him to be the head of the Intelligence Unit. I know they are hoping that by his "acting dirty" they will catch some big criminals, but I can't believe he's still in a position of power given his actions.
  4. I started watching this show originally because Antony Starr is in it and I'm so glad I did - it's amazing. I loved Antony in the New Zealand series "Outrageous Fortune" where he plays twin brothers who are quite opposites. I think it's still available on Netflix Instant and it's definitely worth checking out if you like "dramadies." You're not alone here. The actress, Lily Simmons, was also on True Detective. She played a similar type on that show - young, seductive, seemingly hyper sexual. I haven't seen her in anything else, but it would be nice to see her in a different type of role to see what her range is. I know she's still quite young and she is certainly lovely so hopefully she'll have a chance to branch out a bit and develop more as an actress. I can't wait for season 3!
  5. The promo people for this show need to come up with some original material for the scenes for the episode the following week. They mentioned this time around that "the love of her (Julia's) life may be returning" or something to that effect and then showed a shot of Joel at someone's door smiling. They used the same "love of her life" crap in the promo for Mr. Cyr's return trying to fake us all out that he may want to get back together with Sarah. I have a feeling that it may be likely that this is the same fake out with the Julia and Joel situation.
  6. Quinn continues to bug me to no end. Making her a part of B613 is just ridiculous. No way is she competent or stealth enough to be a spy/contract killer. When they showed her barging into the hotel room/apartment with her gun drawn trying to do a "sweep" of the room she looked so silly - almost cartoonish. That's pretty much what they've made her into on this show - a cartoon. And the creepy sexual tension that they're trying to force between her and Huck needs to stop now - it's just gross and disturbing. I'm seriously hoping that Mama Pope somehow manages to blow her, Huck and Charlie up just to end this travesty of a storyline - And I used to like Huck before he took Quinn under his wing. At a bare minimum things may be slightly more tolerable if they kill Quinn off.
  7. I think that since she admitted she blew her cover to her lover she knew she was done for. The Center will likely either have her sent back to Russia and punished some how or just kill her. I think that's why she said goodbye the way that she did to Elizabeth. I love MM as well and really wanted her to stay on this show (I would have loved for her to stay on Justified as well) but it seems like her new sitcom is doing okay (though I don't watch it so have no opinion as to whether its good or not) but maybe she has scheduling conflicts now.
  8. Mellie is honestly the only one I can still tolerate on this show - and I couldn't stand her in the first season. For someone who is supposed to be such a brilliant fixer, Olivia is pretty naïve – particularly when it comes to her Father and B613, not to mention her blindness as to her Mother being a terrorist. She gets way too emotionally involved to really be effective at her job. Why are people still willing to hire her? Granted, she has been able to fix certain issues for people who aren’t close to her (though not lately as that hasn’t been part of the show for a while which is unfortunate since that's one aspect that I really liked), but she definitely seems to be more emotional and irrational now. I think this is largely due to learning about the B613 mess and her Father, Jake’s and Fitz’s involvement in it, not to mention the discovery of her Mother’s true occupation. It just doesn’t seem like she’s able to make clear, focused, rational, unemotional decisions anymore and I don’t see how anyone could trust her to resolve anything successfully for them now or how her team of so-called Gladiators can continue to stand by her decisions. I'm also sick of her and Fitz and their criticism of the relationship between Mellie and the VP was just ridiculous given what they've been doing for years. I agree that The Slap was the best part of this episode, if not this season, though I really wish Mellie would have kicked him in the balls instead.
  9. I think he had a fair amount of help from Joel, a professional contractor, when they first bought the house and maybe he doesn't feel right asking for help from him now given the situation with Julia. Zeke seems pretty handy, however, so perhaps he could help them out.
  10. You're not alone. I'm starting to think this show belongs under the Sci Fi/Fantasy category.
  11. I wonder why it never occurred to Elizabeth that what Martha considers "wild" in bed may not be on par with what she considers it to be. Martha could think that anything not in missionary position is wild. But instead Elizabeth got so hung up on this idea of wild sex with Clark and really made the whole situation bad for both of them.
  12. I did enjoy the episode, especially Rick's transformation back to badass, though wish we could have gotten a little more on Terminus and what it is really all about/how it started. I just really hope this is not Woodbury 2.0 and that the gang either breaks out and leaves Terminus behind or offs the leadership and takes Terminus over within the first few episodes next season so we have an idea where the season is heading. The idea that they will be trapped in a boxcar/held captive indefinitely just isn't interesting. I know I shouldn't say this, but I hope that Beth is already on the grill at Terminus. The actress is just awful and I so do not want to see a romance between her and Daryl.
  13. This episode of Talking Dead was pretty good. Andrew Lincoln is very articulate and brings a nice amount of humor. I hope he is on next season as well - would be great to see him on with Yvette Nicole Brown and/or Norman Reedus. I have always loved Andrew Lincoln (and think he's gorgeous) long before The Walking Dead so I have never been able to dislike Rick as a character even when some of the things he's done really annoyed me. I have no problem not liking the version from the Graphic Novels at times, however. Scott Gimple was much better this time around than he was on his appearance earlier this season. He seemed so awkward and nervous last time that I was hoping he would never be on again but thankfully he was considerably better this time. He's still not as great as some of the other crew members that have been on, but at least he's not one of the worst ever and I wouldn't mind if he were on again next season.
  14. I've also come over from TWoP and glad to see that it looks like everyone will be gathering here and making this site our new home. My favorite this season is Spencer. He comes across to me as a more athletic version of Cochran and I really hope he does well. Tony just annoys me. He is the type who, though may have made a couple of clever moves early on, will have his hubris and ego cause his own demise. He is already a legend in his own mind and seems to believe that he's pretty untouchable. These are things that could definitely lead to him going home with his HII in his pocket. I really hope he is the victim of a blindside of epic proportions.
  15. He would never pass up the chance to get such high ratings. People are already anticipating and eagerly awaiting the episode - myself included. The husband and wife at Amy's are just so unbelievably legitimately delusional (and real life convicted criminals) rather than just "plants" or exaggerating circumstances purely to manufacturer drama that its fascinating to watch them and listen to how much in denial they are.
  16. The only thing I can recall that might be causing Abraham to have such faith in Eugene is that they mentioned Eugene had been in touch with DC on a satellite phone early on. Whether or not they actually saw or heard Eugene speaking with anyone isn't clear and seems a bit suspect since we haven't seen him try to use the sat phone at all since they met up with Glen and Tara. And of course, unless Abraham or anyone actually heard another voice on the other end of the line (seems unlikely Eugene would have allowed this since, you know, "It's Classified") there is absolutely no proof at all that Eugene is who is he is claiming to be. I had the same thoughts and I so wish Glen would mention their visit to the CDC and Jenner to Eugene and company and see what Mr. Mullet's explanation was. Probably just more of this "It's Classified" BS - so Classified that the CDC wasn't allowed to know about it either but some back-woods, mullet wearing, degenerate video gamer would be the type to be entrusted with the information that can save the World.
  17. I would hit the MAC counter myself, but yes, I would likely be one of those people grabbing as much of that stuff as I could - particularly the lip conditioner/gloss and skin care products (moisturizer and sun screen in particular - hey, if you can get it for free you might as well stock up on the best if you can) as those could be kind of legitimate/useful... and maybe a pair or two of fake lashes just because I probably couldn't help myself. ;-) I completely agree that Rosita's mega hoop earrings are ridiculous - I can't believe she still has earlobes left as those things could catch on anything and be ripped right out. She also has longish hair and it looks to be in pretty good shape. I have very long hair (hence my user ID) that is pretty thick and all real. It's not particularly hard to maintain, but I spend a small fortune on good shampoo/conditioner and a couple of products. In the ZA I have a feeling my hair would end up being a matted mess after a few weeks. I would probably chop it off at the first opportunity since its just not practical.
  18. THIS. This bothers me so much - it's not only a disgusting habit, but it affects your pallet. How can you make really good food and get the seasoning right when your taste buds are compromised? I'm constantly amazed at how many chefs are smokers - I see it on other cooking competition shows as well, though usually it's only a couple of them. This show it seems to be the norm rather than the exception and nearly every single one of them every season seems to be a smoker.
  19. As a huge fan of the Coen Brothers and the movie, I can't wait for this to premier. I'm also a native Minnesotan though I've lived all over the World and am currently in Southern Cali so any trace of the MN accent that I may have had is long gone (and I grew up in the Twin Cities area, so the accent there isn't nearly as OTT as it is in the movie) but still love when I call home and can hear hints of it from my family/friends. It sounds like there is a really good cast in this and I'm so glad Martin Freeman from Sherlock is part of it and hope he can do the accent justice! :-)
  20. That makes two of us SnarkyMcSnarker (love the name, btw). Agree with others that have mentioned that the group this year seems to be filled with a lot of duds and possible plants. I'm just glad that at least this cast isn't as greasy/oily/slimy/in desperate need of a shower as last year's crew was. I can't really identify any potential front runners this early on though Joy seems to be the best of the bunch at this point.
  21. I still just can't get past Joel's behavior and the lack of explanation. They chose to adopt an older child with emotional issues. They knew going into it that this was going to be a challenge and would test not just their marriage but their whole family dynamic. The fact that Joel all of a sudden bails when things start to get complicated/difficult is just silly, particularly since they didn't even try to go the therapy route except for that one session on how to tell the kids Joel was moving out. Based on how they wrote Joel before this all happened he just doesn't seem like the type to just give up on his family especially when he knew they were going to be heading for some challenges.
  22. I'm still struggling to fully understand exactly why Joel left. If it is tied to the fact that he was the stay at home Dad for so long and supported Julia's career, and then she just up and quit her job without consulting him and the roles suddenly reversed, okay, I can understand being upset over the way things were handled to some extent. However, given that they had just decided to adopt an older child that they knew had some issues it seems like Joel could have put his own issues aside knowing that what was best for the kids, especially the one they had just agreed to adopt, would be to maintain the family as best they could. It seems like a really bad time for Joel to start feeling put upon (even though he did have some right to). More than how he felt, however, was how he handled it and never really even told Julia why he was leaving. We really didn't get any kind of explanation until tonight, and I still think there's more to it than what was revealed tonight. The fact that Julia mentions that Joel's father cheated on his mother may be a bit telling especially as he keeps insisting that Julia had "an emotional affair" with Ed. In any case, I thought the two had a pretty solid marriage which is why they decided to adopt Victor (an older child with some emotional issues). The fact that their marriage is now falling apart over a switch in roles and a perceived "emotional affair" just doesn't seem right at all.
