  1. Unfortunately, that scene was a dead giveaway that Kyle was a goner. As soon as the guns came out, I thought of that scene and knew what was about to happen. I seemed to me that Kyle figured it out when Gabe was pretending not to know who the student was but chose not to push it if Gabe didn't want to tell him. I so did not miss Crash. Can he please just go off to a better life and never come back? At least his hair was less stupid this time.
  2. The actor who plays Ofe is one of the leads on Between, which I think was only a six episode series so far, so he probably just took a break from Finding Carter to go film that. I hope he comes back. I liked Ofe, and Damon is pretty forgettable so far. The Gabe and Taylor friendship never made much sense. He was supposedly her best friend, but he also hung out with Bird and Ofe and never once invited Taylor to one of their parties until Carter came along. I'm starting to think Carter's old friend (I never remember her name) is actually just as crazy and manipulative as Lori. Her apology didn't seem entirely genuine and I'm wondering if she purposely "accidentally" let it slip about Max and Carter to make the drama between Carter and Taylor even worse than it otherwise would have been (i.e., Taylor is going to find out that not only did Carter sleep with Max but she told pretty much everyone else before Taylor).
  3. I hope they find a new home for the show. I was actually looking forward to Clare, Alli and Drew finally leaving. I like some of the younger kids (Maya, Zig, Frankie) but the never-ending senior year and the Clare-Eli-Drew drama have really been dragging the show down.
  4. Eric Close is not returning as a series regular: http://tvline.com/2015/05/31/nashville-season-4-eric-close-leaving-teddy-cast/
  5. Yeah, except when she got into Yale there was zero mention of how she was going to afford foreign student tuition at an Ivy League school. I guess Fiona paid for that too?
  6. I liked Jane, until they ruined her in the Manhattan movie. She had a life outside of her boyfriend and encouraged other girls to find their own stuff to do instead of sitting around waiting for their boyfriends to pay attention to them. She seemed to feel genuinely terrible about cheating on Spinner, and while I understand why he was hurt, frankly I thought his reaction was pretty rich coming from a guy who cheated on at least two of his past girlfriends and was lucky to be given a second chance by one of them. But then they turned her into a blubbering mess who couldn't function without a man.
  7. Yeah, there's just no way that a kidnap victim, especially one who is also a minor, would be contacted by the kidnapper's doctor about her medical condition. Regardless of the show's attempt to equate egg donor with biological mother, that's patently ridiculous. I might have been able to buy that Carter turned to Max for comfort as a reflex without thinking it through if the show had made an effort to establish that kind of pattern and history between them early in season one (by actually showing it rather than just mentioning in passing that they hooked up occasionally), before Max and Taylor got together. That still wouldn't have explained what the hell Max was doing, but at least it would have made Carter's role in the hookup seem like more than just a terrible plot device. Carter's acceptance of her real family last season seemed really rushed, so it's not entirely unwelcome to see her dealing with some ambivalent or conflicting feelings. However, it's happening in such a ham-fisted way that I can't shake the horrible feeling this is all somehow leading to Lori getting out of the psych ward and initiating a custody battle, with Carter forced to choose a side (again).
  8. The cheating sucked, but to be fair, she started sleeping with Declan both before she and Holly J were friends and before Holly J liked Declan. And Holly J went after Spinner while he was dating Jane, so she's no angel either. Manny encouraged Jane to go after Declan and cheat on Spinner, which was also pretty crappy.
  9. It's a new show about a town with a mysterious virus that only kills people over 21. It started last night on City TV in Canada.
  10. Lots of Degrassi alums are on Between - Justin Kelly (Jake), Jordan Todosey (Adam), Samantha Munro (Anya), and I think I also saw Sam the lifeguard and the guy from Alli's illegal poker game.
  11. I feel like the show was trying to have it both ways with the storyline about Gabe and the guidance counselor. They kind of tried to address the double standard in the way people look at teacher-student relationships (where male teacher + female student = rape but female teacher + male student = student hitting the jackpot) by having her get arrested and by Bird explicitly asking Gabe how he'd feel if it was her and a male teacher. But then they made it seem in the end like the worst part of what she did was that she had a fiancé. Even Gabe's dad obviously figured out Gabe was the student she'd slept with but seemed more concerned that his son was sad about getting his heart broken than about him being sexually exploited by a teacher.
  12. Was Myron in the final number? I didn't see him and figured maybe they left him out because there was no way to explain him still being a child in 2020.
  13. I'm pretty sure I just saw Owen in a commercial for the Ontario Student Assistance Program.
  14. I really liked Wesley. It was refreshing to have a lovable dork character in amongst the interchangeable cool sporty dudes. Connor just confuses me. Is the character supposed to be totally flat and wooden because he has Aspergers, or is the actor just not very good?
  15. The nanny in Banished was Tamira from Breaker High.
  16. Zane was more likeable than Riley, and I wish they'd given him more to do than just push Riley along on his journey to self-acceptance.
  17. They got married in the Degrassi Takes Manhattan movie. They weren't really even together at the time but they got married while drunk in Niagara Falls. They thought about an annulment but then decided that they were meant to be together, so they stayed married and threw a big party. It made no sense whatsoever.
  18. Xander: Who's the little fear demon? Come on, who's the little fear demon? Giles: Don't taunt the fear demon. Xander: Why? Can he hurt me? Giles: No, it's just... tacky.
  19. Nice to see Brad from Gilmore Girls.
  20. The actor who played Brad was on tonight's episode of Castle.
  21. Michelle Trachtenberg was on tonight's episode of Sleepy Hollow.
  22. No, but didn't Drew yell at Clare in a crowded hallway when he found out he wasn't the father?
  23. I've actually been wondering for the last few episodes if Eli's behavior is meant to imply that he's off his meds or needs to have his meds recalibrated. That nasty rant seemed more like the Eli of his first couple of seasons (before his diagnosis and then when he stopped taking his meds) than how he's been in recent years. And then when he heard it was his baby, he was acting kind of manic. I interpreted the fire as an accident. It seemed like Miles only meant to burn the poster he was holding but dropped it as a reflex when the flame reached his hand and it hit the other papers and spread. I don't think he was trying to set the school on fire. Anyway, I guess we'll see next season whether there are consequences. And also especially after Cam committed suicide after Zig told him Maya would be better off without him. How much longer is this school year going to drag on? Just let the seniors graduate already.
  24. Jimmy is a terrible boyfriend. Ashley had a valid point, that Jimmy was stepping all over her musical efforts and making it all about him. She could have handled that situation a lot better than she did, but the situation arose because Jimmy was completely ignoring her feelings and her obvious insecurity about what had happened with Craig. To top it all off, instead of just breaking up with her he starting putting the moves on Trina and waited for Ashley to break up with him, which is similar to what he did with Hazel when he fell for Ellie. Plus he totally sold out his mom by agreeing not to tell her about his dad's affair in exchange for money for stem cell surgery, so it kind of seems like he just doesn't respect women.
