  1. There was a conversation between Will and Gunnar last week about how Will has been going to the gym way more than usual (Gunnar implied too much), partly as a distraction from moping about Zach but also because he's been doing more commercial/modelling work since that beer commercial last season and was feeling self-conscious about shirtless photo shoots. So, not completely out of left field, but pretty minimal build-up. I think I only noticed it because I knew there was a steroid story coming up.
  2. As sweet as it was to see Jamie give Fergus his name, wouldn't that sort of make Fergus and Marsali step-siblings?
  3. And they seemed genuinely disappointed when they found out he hadn't.
  4. I don't know, I feel like if the intent was to end the mid-season finale with a bang (no pun intended) and also to actually kill Quinn, they would've gone for the bigger gut-punch of him shooting her in front of Olivia. Boom, fade to black, OMG. If the end game is to redeem Olivia, they have a long way to go and not much time left to get there.
  5. I read that scene very differently - it definitely seemed to me like Jimmy thought it was a confession of love.
  6. Renewed for two more seasons (but with a new show runner): https://tvline.com/2017/10/04/the-bold-type-renewed-season-2-season-3-freeform/
  7. Yeah, and then even after having three months to think about what he did he still couldn't apologize without adding on a "but it was sort of your fault for saying the thing that made me freak out".
  8. It seemed like she didn't graduate, in which case her acceptances (if they were real) would almost certainly have been rescinded. I guess they could hand-wave that she made up the credits in summer school, but I'm assuming the plan is to bring her back for next season. Just about every graduation at Degrassi has resulted in at least one character being held back to help fill out the cast the next year.
  9. No kidding. She'd be detained until boarding and then escorted to the plane. They don't operate on the honour system. I wasn't expecting Jane to accept the other job, but I still doubt she'll actually go through with it. The drunk fashion show was fun. I'm not really into Sutton's love triangle though.
  10. I read somewhere (I think it was TVLine) that the kiss as originally written was supposed to be the culmination of sexual tension that had been building between them since she first appeared, but when it came time to shoot it the actors had to point out that wasn't what they'd been playing. It got turned into the weird "it just seemed like you needed that" that aired rather than just cutting it altogether.
  11. All of the drama this episode seemed fairly pointless. There were no stakes. They were never going to up-end the basic premise of the show by splitting up the main characters. How could they hang out in the fashion closet all day long if one of them doesn't work there anymore? In the same vein, does anyone really believe there's any chance that Jane might take the other job in the next episode?
  12. Yeah, Daphne was the hero of that performance and it always seemed like a ridiculous plot contrivance that not one media outlet was interested in her too. I think it would have made for an interesting shift in the dynamics of their relationship if Daphne had become the breakout star leaving Maddie behind. It would have been fitting given Maddie's many career missteps, which never seem to have lasting consequences beyond one or two episodes. Maddie cried poor little manipulated girl twice in the span of a few months to get out of record contracts - perjuring herself and publicly destroying her family in the process the first time (while blatantly trading on her famous parentage by adopting her mom's last name), and at great cost to her mom's struggling business the second time. She made that gaffe on tv about how great it was that her mom's death is getting her so much attention. There was the whole debacle of Clay's arrest. And now, her refusal to honour the terms of her contract may be the catalyst that takes down the whole label, killing her mom's dream. How does this girl not have a massive diva rep by now?
  13. I thought it was pretty crappy of Hunter's friends to immediately start in on questioning his sexuality when he showed up at prom to make up with Yael, after previously calling him out for not supporting them. He was trying, maybe give the guy some positive reinforcement rather than poking at what was obviously a sore spot.
  14. Except for that period when everyone kept telling Zoe that Grace was obviously a lesbian because "no one dresses like that to attract guys".
  15. Younger also did it with Liza having to help Kelsey remove her Diva Cup in the office bathroom.
  16. I don't know about CMT Canada but it's playing on W in Canada on Thursday nights.
  17. The only way the Cyrus reveal possibly makes any sense given what we've otherwise seen all season is if he planted the seed in Luna's head thinking it would go a much simpler route but then things went horribly awry for a while before eventually taking a tortured path back to the desired outcome, and he genuinely did not know at least at first whether she'd actually gone through with it or whether it was someone else with some unknown motive. His actions in prison were those of a desperate man who didn't think he was getting out of that situation, not a puppet master pulling the strings and watching his grand plan unfold.
  18. Isn't Jake still the head of the NSA?
  19. Was it just me, or did the clown sketch seem like a ripoff of Tig Notaro's short film "Clown Service"?
  20. It felt to me like a ridiculous plot device that all the attention after the CMA performance was only on Maddie. Daphne was the hero of that performance, and I can't imagine that the media wouldn't have been interested in both of them. Not to mention that after all of Maddie's drama last year playing the poor little manipulated girl to get out of two different record contracts, she would likely have a reputation as a diva and people in the industry would be reluctant to work with her. Also, I call shenanigans on all that talk that Rayna would have wanted Maddie to seize this moment. The media exploiting her grief is exactly the sort of thing that Rayna would have tried to protect her from.
  21. I vaguely recall at least one scene between them from a few years back where Maddie snuck out to a barn party and Scarlett was there. It may have involved Maddie getting drunk with her friends and Scarlett giving her advice about dealing with peer pressure.
  22. That's actually fairly realistic for the Canadian setting. The abortion pill only recently became available in Canada and there are a lot of restrictions on it. Also, provincial health plans don't cover it whereas they do cover surgical abortions.
  23. I hate that they show Frosty Returns instead of the vastly superior Frosty's Winter Wonderland.
  24. According to TVLine, they did shoot that ending but chose not to show it in the hopes that the cliffhanger will make the idea of a season 5 more attractive to the people they're shopping it around to.
