  1. The comparisons to "Carnivale" are inevitable and I started out really loving that show. But somewhere along the line it wandered off the tracks and seemed like, even if it had gotten another season, it would never get to the point. "Freak Show" has an advantage by being contained to a finite number of episodes. It sucks when show runners lose focus.
  2. That's Jessica doing Marlene Dietrich doing Bowie, and it was spectacular!
  3. Perhaps you mean Coldwater Creek, which is now out of business? One less opportunity for Korina to mess up.
  4. Gee, how did I ever make it through 34 years of marriage without the advice of Plastic Robin the Bible Wife? I was going to ask how she could say this stuff with a straight face, but after all that surgery it must be hard to change expressions.
  5. I think many of us are remembering the Bravo years through rose-colored glasses. Even in Season 1 there was a lot of drama: "Project Drunkway", Morgan the undependable model, Wendy Pepper and the missing photo of her daughter, and of course Shoegate. It's just that the designers then were so much more talented than the lackluster wannabes now, we tend to remember the clothes. I find it really hard to care who gets auffed, they're all so boring.
  6. Alexander is STILL the Fan Favorite!?!
  7. It looks to me like Chibbs is very surprised himself to be feeling something for a sheriff; and we know he's capable of deep love from the storyline with his wife & daughter. At least I think that's how Tommy Flanagan is playing it.
  8. Please please please let this happen! If St. Elsewhere can dress up doctors as ZZ Top, TGW can give us Cabaret.
  9. I agree! Wouldn't go near this show in a million years. At least a few of these kids will probably be "professional" children with years of dance and acting classes, patented cutesy looks and Broadway smiles.
  10. I second that nomination! We don't need to see contestants' underwear FFS. Kini is an amazing technician, but that denim outfit was too "square dance in the barn" for my taste. Emily's was fresher, her muse was certainly loving it, and it was editorial. Maybe she wasn't wearing enough make-up to suit MaryKay.
  11. This is just sickening to watch. The best part was the porn video filming, in which Frankenstein's Monster looked just like Gemma. I'm hoping that the new police chief isn't as stupid as the rest of Charming, and is just gathering evidence.
  12. Just looking at the Prada Spring 2015 RTW collection, and was surprised to see frayed hems and loose threads just like Sandhya's first winning garment. This would explain Nina's gushing.
  13. This was a riveting episode and I,too, hope this series continues for another season. The Abby storyline made her more human; that wide-eyed innocence was grating on me. The fact that she was quick enough to use her relatives' distress to get herself out of trouble, but then actually read the file and opened her eyes to reality, showed growth. The WACs aren't getting a very balanced portrayal; surely they weren't all working the same side job!
  14. In the hands of an artist, like McQueen, fashion can be art. In the hands of a businessman, like Kors, it's just clothes. Successful execution of intent elevates mere coverings to that higher level.
  15. As much as I love Fade's personality, it was definitely his time to go. He was obviously lost and that dress was not avant-garde or even interesting. Sean's model is having such a great time; she seemed to enjoy this week's dress even more than last week's jewels! Totally agree about Sandhya's Clown Nightmare dress; maybe Jessica Lange could wear it on "American Horror Story:Freak Show".
  16. Like that first shirt in Fade's collection, I say "No Thanks". With the exception of one or two items, this is the worst looking bunch of crap from the least talented group ever on PR. And it might be unkind to say so, but most of the models are very...........unfortunate looking. The make-up on Alexander's models actually made me nauseous.
  17. Are we absolutely sure Charlotte is not just playing possum? Bullets were flying so fast I didn't actually see her get shot.
  18. Frank's sins don't seem so bad after the sight of those children being doused with DDT. The nonchalance with which the "expendables" are treated is scary.
  19. The pleading guy was Nusrat's father. I don't think even the ruthless Tariq would advise Jamal to execute American citizens, so Molly & the kids are probably safe. And Barry is the lead, so clearly he's not going anywhere; if there is a season 2, it will have to focus on getting him out of prison. Ho-hum.
  20. Given the rampant gossiping among the wives, it didn't really matter who heard the call; the info would inevitably get to Charlie's wife. Speaking of Charlie, I don't care how brilliant he's supposed to be, he's still a standout douche in a whole town full of them. I don't think it was colony collapse that killed the bees. From Dr. Winters' conversation with the army guy, I gathered either he had it done or one of the complainers did.
  21. The Guilty Remnant reminds me of the Westboro church and their picketing of soldiers' funerals. They are despicable in the way they cause pain, and not one of them could give a reason why, at least not a reason that sane people would understand. They are self=deluded and self-indulgent.
  22. bilgistic, you are absolutely correct about Nina's "picks" for Marie Claire. They're horrible! I worry about her taste level and think she has outlived her usefulness as a judge. I liked Fade's dress very much, but the middle looked strange on his model.
