  1. Thanks. I missed that completely - and I'm glad I did. TMI indeed. Perhaps - except Cade said he's an expert hunter and tracker. It seems like he would have had some idea of which way he'd been walking and would have at least tried to retrace his steps. Maybe he did and we just weren't shown that part.
  2. I'll bet she wrote that whole thing herself. So she pals around with Paris Hilton and Kardashians. I already couldn't stand her and that information didn't improve my opinion one bit.
  3. What Mikey says and his actual behavior are two different things. I can't imagine he'll last much longer. Ann is tiny. I don't know if that will be a help or a hindrance. She seems a bit quirky but she leads a life of physical activity so she may have more stamina than I think. When they first focused on the woman in a red shirt, she bent down out of sight of the camera then stood up and said something along the lines of not believing she did that. I must have missed something because I had no idea what she was talking about. I hope Taz got to eat some of his fish before the part he was smoking burned up. I was afraid the fire would spread and burn his canoe. It was interesting that he created that canoe in what seemed like no time when the fellow who made one in an early season worked on his for, as I recall, a couple weeks. And then it sank.

  5. I thought her dessert looked like a mess. All the judges conveniently overlooked the fact that her meringue was tan and overdone, a major technical error. If they had wanted her to go home, they would have jumped all over that instead of picking at the minor flaws on John's (which really did look like a cake). I actually like Anrika better than John so I'm not unhappy that she stayed but I think the decision was questionable.
  6. I saw Natalie Duran too. I know a lot of people don't like Daniel Gil for reasons I don't understand. He's been one of my favorites (along with Joe Moravsky and Travis Rosen) ever since he blew everyone away in his first season. I have no interest in his faith-based activities but he seems like a nice, decent person and he's certainly a great Ninja.
  7. My first choice would be Ted Allen. He has a history with TC, food cred and is an experienced host. And I like him. I know he's under contract with FN but all he does is Chopped. I have no idea if FN and Bravo could work something out.

    S10.E01: Game On

My favorite so far is Lee followed by the teacher. The cast skews much older this season so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. I wonder how the woman with extensive surgery on her leg got accepted. She's older too. I'd think she might be a liability. Now that I've said that, she'll probably go a long way. I agree with the comments above about Cade and his arrows. It didn't look like he made any attempt to track them down which is what any normal person would do not to mention a big game hunter. I didn't find his whining endearing. I wish they'd have a season somewhere without bears. I'm sure no one got mauled or eaten or it would have made the news but just knowing they're around makes me nervous.
  9. I agree with your entire post, lgandkihei. I even find the guy with the dangly fork earring the least offensive - except for the earring which I loathe. I don't actually like any of them. The woman with the colon issues has one weird eye. I keep getting distracted and wondering about it.
  10. Neither did I. She was absolutely doing the right thing which made me think that this show is totally scripted. The woman with colon problems hadn't complained all day as far as we could tell and suddenly she's sitting on the curb surrounded by first responders while her red-headed friend is being a total b**** and no one on the team said a word. All staged. I was sorry they won although they did, in fact, end up with a better product.
  11. I'm very glad they nixed the woman with the salmon tattoo on her inner lip. Gross. I was hoping they'd also get rid of the woman who lives in a bus who came to apply for a spot wearing a knit cap and a nose ring. I'm too old for that. :) I'll be happy when next week is over. I can't take much more screaming and orchestrated chaos.
  12. I was looking at a similar thread on Reddit and I was flabbergasted by the number of people who suggested Christy Teigen. What?! If I had to make a list of candidates, she wouldn't even be on it. I can't imagine. Padma is going to be a very hard act to follow. She has all the skills and she's gorgeous. I'm inclined to think they should choose a male host, at least for a transition season, because any woman is going to be compared to Padma and very possibly come up short.
  13. I thought so too at first. Then I remembered that Duff said her flavors were all great so that probably gave her the pass. Johan's pie was stunning.
  14. I did too, partly for seasoning and partly because it wasn't exactly what they were told to make. I agree with the rest of your comments. It killed me that Beau and Antonia didn't eat the lobster on top of their pasta. I wanted to reach in and grab it.
  15. I finally got around to watching the pastry episode. I'm always happy to see Sherry Yard and Stephanie Boswell and I agreed with their decision both rounds. They were both all dressed up and I got a kick out of Eric saying he felt underdressed. Jaleesa was terrible on her season of the baking championship and didn't deserve to win so I don't know how she landed a spot on this show. I was quite happy that she was eliminated first. OTOH I liked Jordan on his season so I was glad he won. The other woman seemed pleasant and talented but I wasn't familiar with her at all.
  16. She also has a ring in her nose and a kid with a bad "trendy" haircut. I hope she doesn't last long.
  17. I thought the same. I didn't understand that comment either. I liked Ally but her giant Pavlova was never going to work in that time frame. The end result did look like a soggy salad.
  18. For all you masochists still slogging through this: https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2023/05/ciao-house-season-1-review/
  19. Katie Bone was really impressive! I think her years of rock climbing gave her an edge. I was very happy for her. Are Jesse and Chris really planning to get married? They've been engaged for something like 5 years by now.
  20. I was hoping they'd get rid of Lan who is arrogant and obnoxious. I liked the guy who left but I can't argue with the decision. He had plenty of chances to cook his burgers properly.
  21. Ugh indeed. I can't stand her. She has absolutely no doubt that she's an authority of some kind. Her years on The Chew don't begin to equal the qualifications a chef needs. I don't like Aaron but he is a chef. Joe isn't a chef either but his years of experience in the food world do qualify him to judge IMO even though I'm not crazy about him.
  22. I enjoyed the Hawaiian episode although I thought Alex should have gone out first instead of Lee Anne. Obviously, I couldn't taste the dishes but Alex's didn't look particularly Hawaiian and she barely used the Spam. I loved seeing Sheldon again and I got a kick out of seeing Ippy all grown up and flourishing after being on NFNS years ago.
  23. Darn. I liked Kyle and, based on the first two episodes, thought he'd go a long way but he was the clear and only choice for elimination. I don't recall seeing a single person on the bottom before but I was glad they went right to it instead of calling two people out first which would have been a charade. I don't like twists but at least adding nuts was doable unlike some of the things the producers have come up with in previous seasons.
  24. Kyle and John are my favorites too. I also like the woman from Syracuse and maybe the French baker. The only one I didn't care for right off the bat is Zoe - so I imagine she'll be around for a long time. i was surprised she survived the second hour. I've always found Damaris very, very pretty but she didn't look right last night. I couldn't decide if it was her eye makeup or if she's just getting older (like everyone else). I hated seeing twists again.
  25. I liked Victoire a lot but I thought her elimination was the right decision. It seems to me that she's been teetering on the edge for some time and has stayed a couple times because someone else was a bit worse. She's probably expert when it comes to African and Italian cooking but she seemed less well-rounded than most of the others. I don't recall being particularly impressed with Amar during his season but I'm really enjoying him this time around. He knows food and technique but a lot of what he does is instinctive which means he's cooking with heart - which apparently shows. I hate the idea of a double elimination this late in the game.
