  1. They have done so the past few years. I like Molly but I thought she should have gone home because neither of her creations this week were great but they needed to keep her for the bake off. I was surprised by what Luke came up with, especially after all he said about doing plated desserts. I didn't think it was attractive at all. Jesse's jacket was hideous.
  2. I think it's odd that Michelle didn't have the sense to tie her hair back and even more odd that none of the mentors told her to. Would they allow that in their kitchens? I doubt it. Anyway, she seemed nice enough but I wasn't sorry to see her go. Nyesha's favoritism wrt Pilar is sooooooooooooo obvious. It makes me want to root against both of them. If Nyesha can't be neutral, she shouldn't be a judge. Chris isn't likable but I think he's a better cook than most of the rest of them.
  3. I had no problem with Dale but I found myself rooting for Charbel. I'm glad he pulled it off. I just read his little bio on the Bravo site and he is quite accomplished for someone only 25 y/o.
  4. Yep. I don't find Christian smug at all. I think he's on the nerdy side and maybe a little insecure. I quite like him and won't be unhappy if he wins the whole thing.
  5. I actually watch this show more for Eric than for Alex. I'm also looking forward to the Chef's Cut.
  6. All of the above. I didn't care for her in her season and I still don't like her. She's crude and she always looks sloppy. No class at all. I like Victoire but I think that, despite speaking several languages, she's having the most trouble with thinking in English. Her dish didn't really meet the challenge. She just made something from Africa - and not well. I thought she should have been the one to go. She and Dale each had food that wasn't great but he met the challenge.
  7. I thought Sywia's dish looked and sounded like it would taste good but it clearly was not an omelet which was what Tom asked for so she had to go. I liked her a lot but I did think she was one of the weaker chefs in the cast.
  8. And thank goodness. I thought she'd never leave. I thought the same. There couldn't have been much left after what we saw happen. I was really annoyed that the producers expected viewers to believe that deception.
  9. Here's an interview with Mei Lin: https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2023/04/mei-lin-tournament-of-champions-4-winner-interview/?fbclid=IwAR2Xg8caMDfjGR5J9vU8TxENKLj8aOl2zfsk0n42KoEuQAy1x_cUihx_uB8
  10. I actually like that choral jingle but I think I've seen the commercial about 400 times and it has become very old. I'll never understand why the PTB at FN don't understand how irritating the saturation is.
  11. I have a feeling this might have been the very first episode and changes to the format were made afterwards. I think the show is filmed in the same place as TOC so maybe they shot the first one outdoors while waiting for TOC to wrap. I know nothing. I'm just guessing. I was rooting for the Italian guy in the first round. I liked him and couldn't stand her. I've always liked Eric Greenspan but he looks awful with all that black stubble on his neck and jowls. I try not to look at him too closely. He was quite a contrast to good-looking, slimmed down Rocco in his pristine white chef's coat. I would have been happy with either one winning.
  12. This one is especially curious because Guy has been calling Aarti the Spice Queen for years. What does Maneet have to do with dancing? Nothing AFAIK.
  13. I was too and I was worried. It seems to me that, when the last two standing are a male and a young female, the female usually wins, especially if she's cute. I was glad he won. I don't know how Joe Sasto suddenly started showing up all over FN but I'm always glad to see him.
  14. I'm inclined to agree. I think the final 3 will be Clement, Christian and Molly. It has occurred to me to wonder if FN somehow thinks that a French baker winning this season will somehow atone for the disgraceful debacle involving a French baker last season. Of course, Clement can't win if he screws up in some way that's obvious to viewers.
  15. April was one of my favorites but I can't argue with the decision to send her home. She had a bad day and both of her bakes ended up on the bottom plus her decorating was the worst of the lot. I was sorry to see her go but I would have been very surprised if anyone else had been axed. Nancy's idea of what is "springy" and what is not can be baffling. She is so annoying.
  16. Atmosphere I guess. I was disappointed in Highclere Castle. I never watched Downton Abbey so I was expecting a more typical country estate with mature trees and beautiful gardens. Highclere seemed to be in the middle of a dry, empty field and I thought it looked stark and very odd.
  17. Shay was my favorite so I was sorry to see him go. I didn't think he was going to win but he was nice and cute and I liked him. When the season started, I thought Nuri looked like a winner. Now I'm not so sure. I don't really like anyone who is left.
  18. I thought it was funny (or poorly researched) when Jesse called something the bee's knees. That came from the flapper era, way earlier than the 50s.
  19. Naw. Jet has been doing live bits on FB for years. He used to do them weekly but had to cut down. It would have been odd for him to do one and not mention TOC.
  20. Jet was live on FB today thanking everyone for the support. He said he hasn't made any decisions about competing next time and asked for people's opinions. I thought he was leaning toward "no" but might be swayed. He has months to make up his mind so we shall see.
  21. I wanted Jet to win sooooo bad and I was very worried after I saw the two finished dishes. I figured Mai would beat him on presentation which might do him in if the scores were close otherwise. The results went by so fast that I didn't see what actually happened. My heart broke for Jet but he handled it like the good guy and gentleman he is. I wonder if he'll compete again next year. Ming Tsai and Daniel Boulud - both class acts. Sigh.
  22. I liked Vinny but he clearly wasn't going to last much longer so I wasn't surprised to see him go. I took an instant dislike to Tini during the first episode and my opinion hasn't improved. She's not attractive and her voice is unpleasant so I have a hard time believing that she has so many followers on social media that she rated the producers' attention. I am, apparently, wrong.
  23. I don't know. Indian dishes use a lot of spices and I don't think you could carry more than two of those cute little jars at once so you'd be walking back and forth several times then more times again to put them all back. I'll bet the cabinet ended up being a display piece and the spices they use regularly ended up back on the counter somewhere.
  24. The Indian couple were lovely but I didn't like what Nate and Jeremiah did to the house. All that blue and one totally empty wall - no. The wife clearly did not care for the salmon paint color but the guys thought they knew better and went with it anyway. She still didn't like it. That spice cabinet they were so proud of was hung way away from the counter where the cook would be working. It also opened in the wrong direction for the room. It looked nice but it wasn't practical where it was. At least they didn't paint the piano.
  25. I also like the new panel of judges. Damaris will be fine as long as she doesn't go into her zany act which irritates me no end. I prefer her (or practically anyone else) to Nancy. And yay, Jesse again.
