  1. I think I heard somewhere that Bob the Drag Queen was good buds with Bianca--as in performed with him or something. But there seems to be quite a few queens from the NYC area so *shrug* I guess a lot of them know queen B. I long ago learned my lesson on picking early favs; I am terrible at first impressions and almost always get it wrong (ones that will be great or go far, etc. etc.) I don't pick a fav until the 3rd or 4th episode...if then. I wonder what is meant by "going back to our roots" Is that the theme for S8? Any word if the same judges are gonna be there?
  2. Did anyone see Bianca's special at Aspen? I think it was some sort of improv skit? Was it any good?
  3. I remember David Gregory from when he filled in for Matt Lauer on the Today show. Liked him a lot and thought he held his own against Meredith Vera. Yeah it was kinda a goobly gook of people up there but enh I mostly tuned in simply to see who was in the lead, etc. I don't watch CNN that much so I am unclear as the how they handle these big things but I was kinda bummed the didn't give A.C. more to do. Every time I tuned in he was just kinda standing there listening to everyone else yammer on about this and that. Didn't get to hear his opinions.....or is he just there to moderate and not really join in the discussion? *shrug* But like I said I didn't watch all 18 hours of the coverage either (!!)
  4. I kinda felt sorry for Jubilee. I've meet people like her before--they have a really, REALLY difficult past and they behave in this manner especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. They are very sarcastic and comes across as cold and aloof but that's simply to protect their heart. The I'm the most unlovable person seems to be a bit forced as if it's a bid for the next Bachelorette or BIP (I would think the 2nd option) but enh at the end of the day it was simply Ben's connection with Jubes just wasn't that strong to endure her insecurities, plain and simple.
  5. I am beginning to like this show. It's not the greatest thing ever but it's a fun way to pass an hour. I too am enjoying Dr. Hale & Miss Hastings a lot more than I thought I would. They both make good soap opera evils. Love to hate both of them. Dr. Foster is becoming more and more attractive with each episode which is nice as well. Yeah the story line between he and Mary seems already set but I don't mind; I'm a sucker for forbidden passion and heated romance
  6. Are you guys gonna watch the Iowa caucus tonight on CNN? I will make a point to tune in to CNN just because I adore A.C. and would listen to anything he has to say =) I think they are doing nonstop airing of the results while the local channels will just be checking in every now and then between the regular t.v. show. *sigh* that's A LOT of repeat stuff though...
  7. Yes to all of this! And I am glad the girl with the divorced parents went home. Gah that was becoming painful to watch. Props to mom who at least tried to make an effort to bring harmony into the situation. From what I saw she was trying to control her frustration especially in front of her girl but wow what polar opposites those two where.
  8. Thanks for the T! And yeah CNN will air it later in month as well which is good because I don't have HBO. Here's a little more tidbits on it. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/books/2016/01/07/anderson-cooper-and-mom-gloria-vanderbilt-publish-joint-memoir/78422364/ WORD! But it's not just CNN--I switch channels between GMA and CBS This Morning and both were non stop gab about the Donald.
  9. I like Million Dollar American Princess as well even if it is a bit confusing to follow. This may make me sound like a dummy but if they insist on covering 3 or 4 women in one hour I wish they would stop jumping around from story to story and just stick to one women for the 15 mins or however long it takes to cover her story. This jumping around gets a bit confusing for me--especially if I'm not familiar with the women to begin with. I like the documentaries they do as well. The one done a week or so ago on finding Richard III skeleton was really nice! I read the Smithsonian magazine so I had read a little on this earlier but it was nice to see the doc. as well.
  10. I know I'm late to the party for this but I have to agree with previous posters about the Anderson & Griffin duo on NYE. GAH Cathy Griffin so damn obnoxious IMO I just can't stand more than a few minutes of her. There are several videos of him and her on youtube where she is in Anderson's house just behaving like a goof. The videos are only 5-7 minutes long but lawd I can't even sit through that. I watch though because I just adore A.C. AND speaking of him.... Did any of you guys see the special "The Person Who Changed My Life"? On CNN Sunday? Since I don't really give a toot about the other anchors I FF thru A LOT of it but loved the piece done on Anderson's dad! yay. And did I hear correctly he and his mom did a documentary and book on his life?? I will have to keep a look out for that.
  11. It is rather funny and nice that a beer company is showing some sort of thought for over drinking. The bartender at the end looking longingly at the man refusing another beer as he walked away is a bit much though. Good grief woman he refused AN ALREADY OPEN BEER (did he change his mind?) not transformed into George Clooney right before your eyes.
  12. Someone last season pointed out that these kids, while smart, weren't genius by definition but maybe just had really good study skills. Actual IQ numbers aside wouldn't a true, TRUE, genius simply know most of this stuff already? What is with this studying hours and hours a day? Good grief if I study like that then yeah I would be successful at this competition and I have NO WHERE near I high IQ. I just scratch my head at the so-so to poor performance on the history portion of the competition last week. What I am seeing are these kids don't really seem all that interested in studying in subjects they don't like or don't feel they have to. There seems to be A LOT of combativeness going on in getting them to buckle down and learn this info. *shrug* IDK.
  13. Thank you! He could be just a guy that does EXACTLY what the producers tell him to do. Yeah he may actually be as nice as we see on t.v. OR he could be perfecting an image or brand if you will to build his fame and popularity. If I've learned anything from Unreal it's the lead bachelors on this show really aren't the prince charming types they are made out to be. I mean he went on national t.v. (AND GOT PAID) to date 20 women. How swell can he be?? I'm still having trouble keeping the ladies apart. I swear I have no idea who the women even were that were eliminated last night.
  14. For the most part I like the Flo/Progressive Auto Insurance commercials. I especially like the new one where the 2 competitors are trying to sell the name your price tool on an infomercial and Flo and her dog are watching the commercial saying it's like they are always on tv. It's a cute way to make fun at themselves which is nice.
  15. WORD to the umptenth degree! This coincides with her listing her occupation as "artist". In my very cynical opinion that is just a fancy way of saying unemployed and a pot smoker. Now I'm not saying her mom is into drug use but a true artist wouldn't have to say well I'm an artist and leave it at that. I'm a painter, sculptor, writer, musician whatever the case may be is more plausible. I always side eye the non descript I'm an artist and that's it.
  16. Selah (not sure of spelling) went home. She seems like a smart gal but she was way in over her head in this competition. Both mom & dad seemed extremely happy for her--she cried a bit but a lot of the other kids came up to her with congrats, etc. So all in all happy girl, happy family.
  17. Yeah this past episode showed his dad at the competition. From what I gather he lives in L.A. now and Adrian said he doesn't see his dad often, maybe talks to him a few times on Skype IDK. But yeah all of a sudden here is dad helping out. IDK, I thought there entire story was that she was a single mom and didn't get help (financially I guess) from dad but here he is now. *shrug*
  18. That's the best way to describe it! I don't necessarily mind the Christians dating site but if we are going to advertise dating based on a religion then why not have one designed for other religions as well or see some ads for dating in the LGBT community.
  19. Those movies are usually goofy fun but the only problem is you have to be up-to-date on your pop culture knowledge or you won't get a lot of the jokes. Almost all of these jokes are based on current pop culture events.
  20. Thank you! I didn't understand this either. Also why is one guy so dang dark while the other isn't? I HATE these new Geico commercials! "If your _________ it's what you do; if you want to save $$ on car insurance you switch to Geico. It's what you do." What the FLIP has any of that got to do with car insurance? Why do I need to see the band Europe putting on a show in the break room while someone is warming their lunch??? WHAT?
  21. I think the idea is that when the pizza arrives to you the cheese will be stuck to the top of the box or it will be cold because it's not in one of those thermal bags or perhaps that the box and/or pizza will be damaged in some sort of way *shrug* IDK. I am a connoisseur of pizza and in my YEARS of having it delivered to me I've never experience anything like that so why now it's all of a sudden a problem is odd to me as well.
  22. I've seen this once and thought it was very cute! Yeah the ending is a bit sad (I don't like seeing any animal just left behind) but it was meant in good fun. Especially liked seeing the wolves hang their heads out the window as a dog would do on a car ride =)
  23. I see what you're saying but I do wonder if the parents aren't putting on a show for T.V. or being coached by a producer/handler to behave this way. They've seen how much love-to-hate viewers they got last season with Tiger Mommy so how about a cast where 80% of the parents are tiger moms. That sounds like dumb exec. thinking. LOL! I understand where you are coming from; it seems they are trying to shove Adrian down our throats as fan favorite. I was hoping every child would get a commercial type spot like he does but all I've seen is his commercial of him playing the piano and such. Him popping up out of the bench while playing the higher notes is a bit annoying. He looks like he's sitting a spring and certain notes on the piano are the release mechanism.
  24. Love the new Turbo Tax commercial with Dr. Kaku! The other ones are ok but anything to do with Dr. Kaku fine by me
  25. Kudos to the comment that these contestants get along and work a lot better than the adults on PR. They don't have to be BFFs or get cheesy with it but the fact that they show each other respect--well that speaks volumes in reality tv. Good job! As far as the Tim Gunn save goes there are 4 people left and the judges could say only 3 are going to FW but Tim Gunn could use his save next week and have either 4 at the finale like it seems to be on regular P.R. or simply have the bottom 2 duke it out next week for the finale spot at FW.
