Because marriage is what makes them adults in their world and community. Until they get married, they are still kids under their parents headship. After they get married, they either become their headships or the husbands became the headships. It's adds to pressure and desire to get married to gain status as an adult. As for Jill and Derick, good question! My guess is no, but who knows. Brilliant!

Usually with cute little kid sayings, there's an obvious reason the kid thinks one thing is another. Or any mistake one word for another. Like mistaking the word influenza for influencer. I can understand why Henry was calling everyone "Aunt". I don't get why Spurgeon would think uncles are mammals. Is he playing a trick on Henry? This one is particularly bad and seems less plausible than many of the others.

For a minute, I though he had earrings. His hair looks fine. He does look more like his brother.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
Joy was less a sister mom than her older sisters, because she's younger than them. I think Josie was supposed to be Joy's first buddy, but Josie was premature and they moved Josie to the most experienced Jana. Joy spent a lot of time with the boys when she was little. It wasn't until she was into her teens that she got moved to the girl group. She took over Jill's buddy group when Jill got married. Jill was 23, Joy was 16, and Jennifer was 6. It's possible Joy was an aunt mom to Meredith, but she may not have been. Anna may have been taking care of her own baby while Josh was in Jesus Jail. -

I actually mentioned this in the same post you quoted. Again we don't know that for sure that Jill tried to have a homebirth the second time. I could see Anna being like Jessa if she had Jessa's problems. Anna always had homebirths, just better luck. Kendra is interesting, because she only seems to have hospital births due to a history of breathing issues and passing out from pain. In some ways the wives have been luckier and maybe have benefited from their sisters-in-law's mishaps. -

At the end, she says she can't want to meet her in the next month or so! It is their real youtube channel. -
Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

I'm watching the video. Joy went to see a chiropractor to help her hips align so she can have a VBAC. She's packing a hospital bag. She's never packed a hospital bag before. She has the bow ready. She's using a list. Most of what she says is not much. She does think labor will be slow, because as she says "my labors don't go super fast." She keeps talking about how she can't believe she's having a baby. -

Yes this is correct. Jill and Joy are the only ones who've had c-sections. Jill has had 2 c-sections. I hate to open this can of worms, but it is unclear whether Jill ever intended to have a homebirth the second time. All we know for sure is she had a long labor, a second c-section, and Sam spent time in the NICU. This definitely does apply to Jessa. After Spurgeon, she should be giving birth in a hospital. Also Jill, Jessa, and Joy are the only ones who've had problematic deliveries. -
Yes it was me. Madison Nicole had a new "story" (I think that's the term) posted today. It was a whole bunch of people at the TTH. One was playing an accordion. Instagram stories are usually temporary and feature recent content. It's likely that was JimBob's birthday party with many nonDuggars in attendance. (It was her personal Instagram and it's relatively easy to find.) Amy and Jill were probably safer being away from the TTH.

Madison Nicole had two little videos on her Instagram. (You can find them if you click on her profile pic.) The first thing is just paint colors, but then there are two videos. Both seem to be of random people celebrating at the TTH. Given that these are new temporary stories, it's seems likely that JB had quite the birthday bash. Most of the people in the videos aren't Duggars. One involves someone playing accordion.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Changing in-law to in-love is a thing. Note the random kid balancing on the beam. -

Yes Austin said they started when she was 17 and he would have been about 21. It wouldn't surprise me if the families had paired them up before that. -

I read in another snarksite that the guy standing next to JimBob is the father of the girl who was with Justin in a photo. Someone found a photo of Justin with his arm around a girl. That's what got him moved into this thread despite the fact he's 17. At some point Anna said the rule was 18 or older, but there have been Duggar relationships younger. (However I though they might have learned something from the failed Si/Marj relationship.) Seventeen is still very young to me. -

Joy's only 22 and she has a million more pregnancies to go through. She better be strong. -

Maybe they're attending Lydia Waller's wedding? In it's in Big Sandy, Texas July 18th. I went to Lydia's wedding website and the photo of her and Graeme Wolf was taken by MaggieRuth photography. Maggie Ruth is Abbie Burnett Duggar's sister. The fundie world is small. Editting to add: Maybe Texas is just the people who made that roundball game. It's popular with fundies. The Maxwells also like it. -
Yeah, exactly all of this is on brand. The Duggars have always shown their kids being little and cute on television since the show started. And right now everyone has small families of 1, 2, 3 kids so there's no big family to take the spotlight. Even Josh and Anna's family while being bigger than most, isn't close to JimBob and Michelle's full circus of a family. (six is a lot, but not as rare as 14, 15, 19 etc.) So the whole point of the show is to show people getting married, being pregnant and having cute little kids. Right now there's only 2 women pregnant and no one is getting married, although the show is rehashing last year's large number of pregnant women at the same time. I think a lot of their fans actually watch the show to see little kids being cute. These people probably are not parents themselves or have older children and no grandkids. So these little stories are things they lap up. Look at the post above, 859 people liked the little saying of Henry. I don't see much difference between TLC filming them and Jessa posting on social media about them. I admit it's not my style. If I had kids, I probably try to them keep off social media as much as possible.

Jinger allegedly anwered a fan question who asked about moving. She allegedly said they can't move, because they're quarantining. She answered this question allegedly on Instagram, but I can't find the comment and question. Instagram makes it really hard to navigate their comments section.

This is such a dumb issue, but I have trouble saying the word "masks". I can say mask just fine, but the plural version is hard for me to pronounce. Rerecommending F 2020 by AvenueBeat (song). It does have foul language. Go for it! (especially if you have nowhere to go).

If they're outside, I'm not the rules about masks apply. I forget what our rules are for the outdoors. Indoor venues can require masks and some states make everyone wear masks indoor. I could see big cities requiring people to wear mask outdoors. In rural outdoor places, social distancing is required and many people wear masks, but I'm not sure masks are required outdoors. Depending on the state, they are required at any kind of social gathering indoors and out. Most people don't wear masks outside here while just going for a walk, run, biking, etc. Biking, in particular, seems effective as social distancing. I'm not sure breaking any rules. The friends of the Duggars don't seem to wear masks with any real consistency even indoors. I hope if the Duggars don't wear masks at stores, some takes a picture of it and puts it on the net.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah

Since the Duggars were at Lauren Andregg's wedding, her older sister could be potential courtship. Lauren is 18 and Ashlynn is about 20/21. Madison Nicole also had a recent post where she was hanging out with the family. -
I certainly agree with the bolded section. I think that's why Gothard and a lot of cult leaders/groups like women to be quiverfull. I believe Jill isn't pregnant, but she said she wasn't and she didn't look particularly pregnant to me. Between her upbringing, the food she's eaten for decades, pushing 30, and two pregnancies with huge babies, I think her stomach looks good. As someone who is self conscious about my mid section, I try not to judge others. She and Derick seemed to have moved away from quiverfull and I think it's good for them. Usually the Duggars save announcements (like pregnancies) to best publicize the show. (And Jill isn't on the show.) And some people wait until they're 3 months along, but usually they're not showing before then. Judging whether someone is pregnant, based on looks or supposed clues is hard as my hit-and-miss record in predicting Duggar pregnancies shows.

Why? Also to you or JB?

So if I understand Jessa created 'SayingsofSpurgeon" for a collection of cute little kid sayings that might appeal to the grandma-wannabe crowd, who watches the show. Then other people started to use the same hashtag SayingsofSpurgeon to link articles on how the Duggar girls were molested by their brother or how they follow Bill Gothard, who allegedly assaulted dozens of women or some other scandal connected to them. So now Jessa is trying to move away from that by using SayingofSpurgeon instead of SayingsofSpurgeon. Is this correct? Or is the new use of the original hashtag not connected to the Duggars?
