What did she wait for? I'm young, but I see this as silly. It's proof our culture is obsessive. The Duggars follow many millenial trends, such as taking pictures with the faux surprised facial expression, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't snark on them.

@Zuleikha they were saying it was more impotant for us to be comfortable writing than focused on spelling when I was in school many, many years ago. This was when the computer was still relatively new. It will be more true for the spellcheck generations to come. I also like @GeeGolly's hashtags. It's never surprising when a Duggar/Bates woman is pregnant. They're all young women who've been taught that one must do nothing to prevent pregnancy. It would be more surprising if she wasn't.

what would they steal? -
No, she won't. A) It's unreasonable to have dibs that long, and b) all her kids have names that end in el.

As I've said before that is the world famous selfie pose known as the "faux surprised face". It's been a trend for a while. It seems particularly popular among fundish people. I'm not sure why except maybe a lot of them don't feel they can join in with stuff that's popular and this is one to seem a cool, hip millennial.

I'd be surprised if they picked Neveah. The next girl is going to Selah!

I can't think of a cutesy girls name that starts with Y. Yolanda for example seems too formal for her cutesy girl name style.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah

I'll bet she'll have the same dressmaker as Jinger, Joy, and Kendra. I expect it will be a lot like Joe's and Joy's, etc. -

Don't all the Duggars call their mate their best friend? -

I think both Marjorie and Lauren are reasonably attractive young ladies. It's hard to say now, but maybe Lauren is smart too. That would be nice. This whole thing seems highly arranged. She's from the most Gothardite family since Anna. She's eighteen so really young. Josiah had a spark to him when he was younger. He spent the most time at ALERT and JB has worked hard to make sure he's married before he gets too old. All of the Duggar brides (meaning wives for the sons) have started courtships in their teens. Anna was the only twenty years old when she got married (so far), and my guess is Lauren will be married by twenty if not a mother. JB certainly has a type in mind for his sons. Teenagers from a very religious background, who live at home. Their fans don't seem to care, but then Duggar boys aren't that much older. Josh and Anna are the same age (he's older by a few months). Joe and Kendra are the farthest apart (3.5 years). Assuming Lauren turns 19 by August, she and Si are a little less than 3 years apart. (I think she will be 19 and he will be 21 when they get married.) Wonder if the audience would care if 28+ John David starts courting a teenager. I think a few of them would, but not necessarily most. -
Maybe she now knows how to do formal wear. To see what her style is we should see in her casual clothing.

On the months thing, I was told it was common to do so until the kid was three.

Maybe the internet sleuths got something wrong... it's happened before. Didn't the internet think that about Kendra? -

I'm sure Kelly placed limits on them going to school. Didn't want the girls to be too independent. -

I think she will be 19 in June. So far all of the Duggar-in-law teens have been 19 when they got married even Kendra. I think it's a similiar time table to what they did with Kendra. I don't think this is desperate, I think it's planned for a long time. yes, they're obviously courting. Someone else said they had been talking for months which was the "getting to know" stage. They officially started courting Jan 6th (Three Kings Day! Twelth Night!) so they can get married July 6th. -

Kelly Bates has a pre-courtship phase she calls "getting to know". Since courtship is considered a big step, and almost committment, it makes sense to have a pre-courtship phase so the couple can decide whether they like each other. If the "getting to know" phase goes badly, that's a piece of your heart spared. I also think they're reluctant to use courtship with people under 18, especially if the other party is not a teenager. -
I saw Joe's birthday video made by his parents. I thought they didn't watch tv or follow pop culture, but they know who J-Leno is.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Temperance replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Beyond dumping him in Jesus Jail, JB is financially supporting him. JB is also intervening in other ways most likely. I wonder what Anna's parents think of this son-in-law. I have a feeling they prefer Anna remain with Josh. -
Didn't know that. Wow. Is that for kids going to same school or other Catholic schools? Does it include kids who already graduated? I could see a place like Shiloh doing the same.
