I feel like I'm rocking my inner Arnold Schwarzenegger (terminator) this season. -- Long Distance Call -- The Magnificent Seven -- Sin City 37 - Mystery Spot 27 - Bad Day at Black Rock 27 - A Very Supernatural Christmas 23 - Ghostfacers 23- Jus in Bello 21 - No Rest for the Wicked 21 - Dream a Little Dream of Me 11 - Fresh Blood 05 - The Kids Are Alright 05 - Time is on My Side 01 - Long Distance Call Mauled by a Hellhound: Bedtime Stories Malleus Maleficarum Red Sky at Morning The Magnificent Seven Sin City But I won't gut them without saying a few kind words. First, The Magnificent Seven: Suffers from missed opportunity I think. Here are the Seven Deadly Sins and they go out too damn easy. Not that Isaac thought so. But still, great concept that warranted ...more. Unforgettable things .... Well, if he hadn't already, Dean apparently scratched "twins" off his bucket list. Bobby got to make an excellent Animal House shout-out. Ruby had a bad-ass entrance. Next, Sin City: The premise wasn't all that great bug the character of Casey really was a game changer IMO regarding demonology. Intelligent, devoted, and rational. Still a killer but she was kinda alright as demons go. She had a belief system that she backed and was not remotely petty. It was such a refreshing conversation with her and Dean. So, I'm a bit sad to see this one bite the dust.

Too true. And then if he gets non- demonic, yikes... Patricide on Daddy soul. That'll give you a head trip. And Jensen's ending? Yikes x10000. But if Dean doesn't get rid of the MoC, has an untwisted soul, but is not fully human .... Does that make him doomed to walk the earth alone? That would be sad.

Ah mertensia! You've put way too many options in my head. I need to unthink those thoughts because with so many options... whatever they choose it won't be exactly how I envision it. *Sigh* But you know, that is actually saying a lot. These characters have juice left IMO. In terms of motivation, just how long can you extend a 24 hr party? Apparently Crtowley's limit is somewhere around the two month time -- based on him thinking Dean is too much to handle. It just seems to me it'll have to be Dean's choice to go kill evil things with Sam again. Sam cannot keep him locked up (as the clip demonstrates). They aren't going to de-power him for at least the bulk of the first half of the season (if ever... I get the impression Dean is going to be left with some permanent change). So Dean, I think, is going to CHOOSE to hang with Sammy. Maybe out of boredom. Maybe there's some other motivation. Or maybe I'm completely wrong and they are going to be at odds for a while. But I don't think so. The impression given is they are back teamed up and on the road. As for the blade - being a demon allows Dean to handle the blade's power. But maybe it's a little too bloodthirsty for him so he keeps it tucked away?

So Red Sky At Morning goes down. I really didn't care for the elderly cougar. OTOH, read http://www.sheilaomalley.com/?p=72302 this analysis of Dean reacting to Bela's appreciation of how he looks in a tux. The specifics are about half-way down. So that little bit of brilliance is worth noting. -- Red Sky At Morning -- Long Distance Call -- Ghostfacers 37 - Mystery Spot 27 - Bad Day at Black Rock 25 - A Very Supernatural Christmas 23 - Ghostfacers 21 - No Rest for the Wicked 19 - Jus in Bello 19 - Dream a Little Dream of Me 09 - Fresh Blood 07 - Time is on My Side 07 - The Kids Are Alright 05 - Long Distance Call 05 - The Magnificent Seven 05 - Sin City Mauled by a Hellhound: Bedtime Stories Malleus Maleficarum Red Sky at Morning

Which is a good reminder for me not to get to committed to any notions. Honestly, if the best moment in the first three episodes of Season X is Demon!Dean pulling a 'Here's Johnny!' Moment, I can live with it. It's a great moment.

In a ruthless mood... Long Distance Call -- Malleus Maleficarum -- Red Sky at Morning -- And so our first episode casualty is Malleus Maleficarum. For me it's only redeeming value was learning how demons are made. Other than that, it's another witch episode full of bodily fluids. Now, it's puppy chow. 33 - Mystery Spot 25 - Bad Day at Black Rock 23 - A Very Supernatural Christmas 23 - No Rest for the Wicked 23 - Ghostfacers 21 - Jus in Bello 17 - Dream a Little Dream of Me 11 - Fresh Blood 11 - Time is on My Side 09 - The Kids Are Alright 07 - Long Distance Call 05 - Sin City 05 - The Magnificent Seven 03 - Red Sky at Morning Mauled by a Hellhound: Malleus Maleficarum

It does have that, but it also is very reminiscent of when he was quoting John in "Dream a little Dream". Of course that was a Demon!Dean quoting John. But ... IDK...I got "Dad" vibes while watching it.

Sorry dude, I'm just going to enable you at this point. Thinky thoughts since last I posted about the sizzler (which was more a teaser than a sizzler...but I'm not complaining): - Toying with the idea that maybe Dean wants Sam to kill him, adding in that the knife couldn't kill Cain .. it occurred to me that Dean is testing Sam here to see if he WILL attempt to slit his throat. Then I went on Tumblr and read about 100 theories already taking that concept and running with it. (Note to Pete Marshall... did I ever thank you for introducing me to the "app that ate my brain"... yeesh, I cannot keep up with that app...) Anyway, two thoughts from multiple Tumblr sources that I ascribe to upon further reflection: -- Dean doesn't want to kill Sam. He doesn't need an axe to do it. Rationale: IF Dean is able to bust out of being tied up, actually teleport (IF that is what the sudden appearance behind Sam implies), and do other cool demon shit -- then why bother with the damn axe if he really wants he can kill him in an easier fashion. So the purpose is to potentially to see if Sam will kill him. -- Not only is Dean testing Sam here, he may have let himself be captured in order to stop Sam from doing the dark shit he's doing. My take: this may be a valid concept -- especially if Dean thinks he's doing it just cause he's tired of 'playing this game'. Explaining further.. if Dean is aware Sam has been searching for him and intentionally staying away, Dean could rationalize that he just wants Sam to give up. OTOH, there may be a wee touch of bro-love in there that also wants him to stop doing dark things. Other data or thinky thoughts (that I pieced together from interviews or just random logic): - There is a Dean/Cas scene in this episode (per Misha Collins... one of the billion video interviews I saw in the last 24 hrs where Misha said the only scene Jensen directed him in were ones with both Cas and Dean involved so Jensen didn't give him too much shit) - The episode timeline I think has the tied up confrontation first, Dean breaks out and stalks and confronts Sam, and I'm going to guess somehow Sam gets away and then turns on some sort of emergency lockdown (the red lights). Rationale: It doesn't make sense that the lights would go normal red then normal -- this places that hallway moment in the middle, not the end. So I'm thinking the red lights come after. (logical reasoning) Which leads me to... - Sam may have a trick up his sleeve that he prepared for during the two months that we didn't see him. First, even if he doesn't know he's a demon he knows he's dead. So, best case scenario he's been resurrected by a good guy. More likely scenario, his body is off being used by someone (maybe he's a zombie or something). And of course he has to consider the demon option and/or Crowley involvement. In most scenarios, he's got to be prepared for an unfriendly entity that is either Dean or might have Dean knowledge and access to the bunker. Sam, being Sam, would be wise to change the freaking locks OR create some trap inside the bunker if some version of unfriendly Dean comes thru the door. So... I think Sam flipping that big-switch is Sam having a trap for Dean. (logical reasoning) -- I bet Dean does not separate from Sam after this episode. Rationale: they are not likely to have them on separate stories the entire season. The 200th episode is EP5. It's light-hearted, musical-ish, "Supernatural" as a play meta. I'm thinking an actual play, somehow financed by that rich Dutch guy or something. So these two still be in a death-match kind of struggle doesn't make sense to me. And in fact, it seems they need EP4 to help transition them to the musical-ish episode. Further, by EP3 is where we usually have the rhythm of the first half of the season establish. SO... this says to me that there has to be some agreement/some truce. Sam HAS to have something to offer Dean to stop him from continuing to howl at the moon. (logical reasoning) NOTE: Crowley has has enough howling at the moon with Dean by EP-3 and thinks Dean is out of hand (Mark Sheppard interview). This means Crowley is ready to let Sam have a go at Dean. Maybe he's even helping? IDK. Now WHAT could Sam offer/threaten to make Dean stop rambling around in hedonistic style? NO CLUE. Need more data. There... hope that enables or distracts you.... ETA: I find that many of my thinky thoughts have often been thought of independently on somewhere else. If I know that, I try to state at least where I think I got them from. "Logical reasoning" means I pulled it out of my own dark spot as far as I know.

Nerdist Panels are always chaos...but I think they're fun and for a good cause. Zach Levi is a hero IMO. Rewatched that sizzle clip. The demon knife didn't kill Cain. I wonder if Dean knows that and his "do it" is taunting Sam to see how far he will go? I just find that moment fascinating.

Demented Daisy -- that's a REAL spoiler IMO so what at your own risk and my comments below are uninhibited .... hey, does that make me Demon!Sue? No worries about harshing my squee (at least). I so didn't expect him to attempt to kill Sam. Like...not in 1000 years. I figured Sam would be the one human to get a pass. But he looks pretty damn serious about it. Of course it could be a plea for help "Do it". And if I was Dean and going to take out my biggest threat, I'd start with Sam (because underestimating the Winchesters is the biggest mistakes the bad guys make in this universe). So... plea for help or is Dean trying to kill Sam? Opinions? ETA: Also, what does "it's all you." mean?

Sam vs Demon!Dean (EP3 sizzle reel) http://linkis.com/tumblr.com/YLX8K @Awesome4000. This is definitely more anger than Soulless!Sam had. Anyone else expect him to say " Here's Johnny!"?

I liked Dean's completely in character unhealthy approach towards his pending doom. Plus it gave us his Brad Pitt "what's in the box???" moment. And Sam, asking to borrow the knife in order to gouge out his eyes. There was just too much I enjoyed.

I adore Lisa AND Ben. And ever since I found out the director had Cindy "surprise" Jensen with that kiss at the end, I found that last scene even MORE adorable than it already was. I always thought that last kiss -- with her shyness -- was sweet. Knowing the reason behind it makes it even better. BUT... it's in my okay list. My lists: BEST, Yay, Must Save, Indifferent, Meh, Bleech. It's a complex multi-variate problem.

Another Jensen TCA interview from Give Me My Remote (GMMR): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afhz7FSShSE It's clearly after Danielle's because he's re-using some answers he discovered in her interview. But there are some new bits: - Dean's too much for Crowley to handle (Yay) - I like how he's developing the heroin addict analogy (kinda interesting to see him 'work it out' in front of the camera). It makes sense to me. Dean is FREE. And it's a party for him -- not so much to anyone in his blast zone. A couple of observation: 1) It's possible I'm missing them but I'm seeing a lot fewer Jared interviews. I think he might have had a different "duty" that day. Perhaps his interviews will come out closer to September or something. 2) Someone wondered why they've been so free with spoilers this year and speculated it was damage control for the #AskSupernatural debacle. I didn't watch that unfold in realtime but apparently the CW put out a query for people to ask questions prior to Comic Con and a fair amount of feedback was about misogyny and homophobia etc... So the CW then took down the question - which caused some to decide it had been a debacle. My take: maybe. Certainly overpowering negative buzz with positive buzz is a good ploy. Maybe it's just 'let's get some buzz for S10 because hey... it's S10'. I really don't know the answer but I do agree there are more spoilers (I think) than last year. I also know the CW head actually LIKES the freaking show (thank goodness) so that's a really nice change. Personally, I don't care -- I'm getting data and I'm happy about it.

Okay, BETTER. https://twitter.com/WantAWinchester/status/492650557236977664/photo/1 I'm going to guess the first pic I had from yesterday was immediately after resurrection and this pic is in his "on-steroids" mode. Two layers still but at least they went BLACK. Somehow "flannel" just didn't feel right. Still, they REALLY missed out on black leather pants. Whut?!?! I watch for the plot. This next bit is really poor quality. It's essentially a teen who filmed (poorly) on his iPhone. We definitely see Sam in the FBI suit but I don't know what he's talking about when he said he saw Jensen. There's no actual plot point here (except Sam in the FBI garb at some gas station in the first episode). Why I bothered to post the link: - I find it adorable how excited this TEEN is. Were these kids in Kindergarten when this series started? He's got braces! I just think it's kinda neat that the show lasted this long that there's literally a next generation finding the show while it's still on the air. - D'awww Jared is such a nice guy to fans. Warning: this is "Bitten" bumpy on steroids. There's about 15 sec (at the 6min-ish mark of "info" on a nearly 8 min clip. Recommended only for those who simply want to smile at a super-exited fan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXHqJs-coLs PS: This dude is SO using this opportunity to gather a crowd of friends.

Just so there's no confusion. I adore Sam and I want nothing but Sam to be a BIG DAMN HERO this season. The reason I want Dean to take him to task is because while I believe Sam absolutely should have drawn some lines with Dean (and that he absolutely deserved a proper apology and heart-to-heart FROM Dean), I just think the "no brothers" thing was a really bad idea. But I also believe Sam was totally messed up by what happened. So I'm not remotely mad at him -- I just thiink he needs to be handed this one back. Because he HAD to know he gutted Dean. And if he didn't -- I want him to know it. And THEN I want him to turn around and have a real talk with Dean (I know, I know... and unicorns will fly out of my butt someday too). **sigh** I also would LOVE for Dean to acknowledge just how much he screwed up Sam with the Gadreel maneuver. A new interview (Access Hollywood): http://www.accesshollywood.com/jared-padalecki-and-jensen-ackles-tease-supernatural-season-10_video_2266537 ...Making up for lost time... sounds fun.

Aeryn13 & catrox14: my apologies! I mean Dean verbal bitchslap Sam. I totally get what your saying. I just screwed up what I wrote. I want Dean to take Sam to task for being a hypocrite and giving him hell last year. Jensen's 'tude: Suzanne Gomez (aka @Chico6 on twitter), mentioned that she "poured" the exhausted Jensen into a taxi cab at the end of the TCA day. Between directing and filming prep, dude is tired. Personally I thought he was pumped. On "chivalrous womanizer" vs "asshole": I'm glad Jensen made that distinction. Because it means it's intentional and we are not supposed to like it. On Suzy: Mileage varies. On Rowena actress: She's pretty. I hope they let her keep her auburn hair. Other tidbits: If you follow Mark Sheppard on twitter, then you know the dude is getting in shape. He's lost some weight and hitting the cardio daily I think. Perhaps they've warned him of a shirtless scene? Wouldn't be the first time. Personally I think he's a sexy beast.

I love Danielle's interviews. I think she does a great job of asking question Jensen will answer IN DEPTH. She did another one a few years back that was insightful. Reaction to the new news: - So Dean is a straight up asshole to the "fling" vice "chivalrous womanizer" (interesting characterization there Jensen). Well THAT's going to be unpleasant to watch. It was hard enough to watch when he was borderline asshole to Suzy (what with not going back to check on her after she expressed some regrets). But straight up asshole? It's not that it's out of character. Dean has always flirted with the Madonna/Whore issue. But if she's a 'tough but sympathetic' woman and he's an asshole, then our sympathies are likely to be with her and NOT with Dean. Which is not good. I don't like Dean treating sympathetic characters badly. Doesn't mean it's wrong to have that, just means less fun. What's worse is that if it's just an example of using a woman to tell Dean's story and there's no follow-up or regret expressed - EVER. I can see her name not mentioned again. She's just one of a series of exhibit of "how Demon!Dean" functions. - Between Jensen, Jeremy, and Jared (look! alliteration!) we've gotten quite a bit on the first three episodes. I think the whole Dark!Sam bit is over quickly. He clearly does something normal Dean would not approve of. Raise your hand if you want to see Dean take him to task and Sam give Dean a verbal bitchslap - GADREEL! I mean really, I ADORE YOU DEAN but you let Sam be possessed. Better not come down too hard on Sammy doing something shady else. You can hassle him a wee bit about the "I lied" bit but that's it. (So of course I want this scene because I find this juicy ... although I totally get why others would not). - Cole. Cole is HUNTING Dean without knowing about the Mark of Cain. Jeez Dean, did ya' sleep with his wife a few years ago? What did you do to this guy that has not clued Cole into the hunting life and yet Cole is pausing whatever his life is to hunt your ass down? It's possible that Dean did something in the line of hunting duty and Cole doesn't have the full picture. That actually is kind of interesting because of how much collateral damage the boys do when they blow thru town and kill the baddy. I really liked that speech Crowley gave about how they justify their lives (Clip Show). Anything that is fallout that comes back to haunt them is interesting to me. Based on Carver's interview it's not something Dean did while a demon and Cole just thinks Dean is an asshole. ETA: Apparently he's a "bad guy" according to one twitter source. - Interesting that Jensen got the "twisted soul" line from the interviewer and wants to use that. I do think he's talked to Jeremy but they don't seem to have given them a script for the TCAs (and maybe not Comic Con). Carver may just treat them like mushrooms prior to these events so that they are not tempted. And poor Jared and Jensen just want SOMETHING to throw at the thousand microphones in their faces at Comic Con. - Jensen's interview makes me more comfortable about Demon!Dean (despite asshole sex dude). If he isn't feeling pressure before, he's got to be feeling pressure NOW. She asked the kind of detailed character questions fans want to know. Which means he needs an answer. Is it October yet? ETA: New Jared interview http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/supernatural_season_10_jared_padalecki_interview_sam_hunts_demon_dean-2014-07 I feel better about the musical. I love meta. CORRECTION: I meant Dean verbal bitchslap Sam... sorry I messed that up.

And so it S2 survival game has wrapped. But first let us praise the #1 & 2 episodes. What Is and What Should Never Be: A painful and poignant episode that shows us how damaged Dean is as the season is wrapping up. Masterful performance by Jensen Ackles as we see him turn into a little child in the presence of his mother. The look of longing as she caresses his face. Haunting. The insights into his character are pure gold. In My Time Of Dying: I personally voted this as #1 because the show just takes the series to the next level in this episode and never looks back. The chemistry between father and sons ... So painful and so real. That Sammy NEVER gives up on Dean. John kicking off the first event tnat eventually leads to the Apocalypse. And finally, the ribald scene between John and Dean followed by that perfect coffee drop and slo-motion horror as Sam discovers John. Just electrifying. S2....so many great episodes.
