  1. But an equally valid question is why doesn't she have a financial backer. I mean she is popular, on a tv show, and works with two successful restaurateurs. I am not suggesting that Mario or Michael should back her but they have connections, hell Carla probably does to.
  2. Those comments struck me as pretty benign reasons for the two decoys. The dated furniture was a similarly well placed/good amenities apartment slightly larger the the place they chose but the $500 cheaper and the 'closed of kitchen' was the much larger and not much more than the place they went; i.e. neither of these were on the market when they were looking and so they came up with fairly innocuous reasons to not choose them. Also, Sao Paulo has a ton of ex-pats living there (my parents lived there for a year and I imagine it was pretty easy for them to find a group of friends through his work and a lot of organizations that support the spouses of people who moved there for their spouses work.
  3. It didn't strike me as odd at all that it was the dorms that they didn't want the parents touring. My school did the same thing, not because of anything salacious but because tours are an annoying inconvenience if you happen to be in your dorm at the time of them, even if your room isn't being shown (a bunch of people in the hallway walking slowly, is annoying when you are running late for class and want to take a shower even though its 1) so cutting the herd of people who are traipsing through makes sense. Plus. students asked questions of students that they saw that they might not ask in front of their parents.
  4. Ed Lee is the featured host of this season's PBS show Mind of a Chef, narrated and produced by Anthony Bourdain. Began as an offshoot of David Chang and his failed iPhone app for Lucky Peach but each season features a new chef traveling, cooking, meeting other chefs, and talking about food. It's a fabulous show and if you haven't seen it you should also definitely check out the first season which featured David Chang.
  5. She was also hanging out with him in the galley and him talking about how he was aloof and didn't make connections and never kept in touch with people and Kat stated that she was going to stalk him after the season was over which seemed super weird and random to say to someone an hour after you met them.
  6. Oh Dan Levy! I swore Chris said Jane Levy, the former star of Suburgatory and I thought, how random!
  7. In a restaurant, the lovely Jacques Imo's in New Orleans. And it is delicious!
  8. I didn't find him overly groomed but I also know tons of heterosexual men who do keep their stuff tight and right and would wear equal or even more out their clothes out to a club/bar. I find particularly in certain places and certain age groups their is very little correlation between grooming habits/sartorial choices and what gender they are sexually attracted to.
  9. I think he made an extremely educated guess based on the challenge. Chicken, turkey, pork are common in chili, so he was thinking about things like the elk or calamari and came up with it. Of course you couldn't tell a ground meat from another just on sight but it was more than just a flip of the coin. Just like alligator in many different preparations is much more common than possum. I am not even from the south but I have eaten a fair amount of alligator (including a delicious savory cheesecake!) and had it in chili several times.
  10. Amy had never met Adrienne before. It's a small gossipy community anyone could have told Adrienne. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if when people crew with people for the first time they ask their friends if they know the people that they don't know and they dish stories that they have heard. Hell I imagine that everyone on the crew at the time of the incident knew the situation so any number of people could have shared the story, not just people that Amy told.
  11. Alligator chili isn't that uncommon in places where there are alligators. It's one of the reasons that Sterling immediately started shouting that is what it was without even tasting it.
  12. Particularly envelopes that easily fit cash. I imagine the desk in the primary guest's quarters has a stack of them just for the tips.
  13. Cash tips are extremely common in the charter world.
  14. Yvette won't be returning for season six in order to care for her father.
  15. We have no idea whether she did or not, there was no mention of it. Kat said she didn't remember whether it was true or not when she talked to Adrienne but she clearly knew the situation that she was referring to. Amy isn't the one who brought it up and when she discussed the situation with Jennice and Eddie she mentioned that the situation told her everything she needed to know about both Kat and the guy in question.
  16. I wouldn't have even felt bad if it hadn't been for the pen incident because clearly the one FF was already in the cab so I don't know why she felt the need to still try and fight her way into the cab.
  17. It was written by Danny Zuker, a writer and executive producer of the show since the beginning, who has written many episodes.
  18. I agree that Richard was pissed about not winning but I saw absolutely nothing in his behavior in any of seasons and appearances on this and other shows that he had any issue with women. I think he would have been just as pissed if Andrew, Dale, or Spike had managed to make it to the finals and he lost to them.
  19. I don't think they are recruiting people, they have had long lines before depending on the place; I think the issue is that the show has gotten a lot more press when they visit places then it did in the first few seasons.
  20. How do you have June and Jason on the show and not have all of HDTGM in a scene! I did't hate this episode it just didn't feel like an episode of The League.
  21. Yeah Amy didn't seem to be upset about what happened four years ago, she seemed upset that Kat and Kate were talking about her behind her back which I think is completely understandable.
  22. This show is ridiculously stupid and boring.
  23. Okay seriously producers don't cast an Isreali team and than make them nearly every episode do something not kosher (neither frog or alligator are), I mean to their credit they haven't complained and didn't actually have to cook with the shrimp (and it could be argued their decision to not try and cook with it won them last weeks challenge) but it's annoying.
  24. I don't think he will allow others to help him plate, the first dinner from hell meal there were literally all (including Eddie and Kelley) watching him plate. Apparently it would demean his "artistic" endeavors. I really doubt the delays are producer driven but even if they are Ben's reaction to anyone calling him out on it is on him.
  25. However, as of next week half of the challenges will have had them cook non-kosher items (bacon wrapped hot dogs, had to make the bacon teams menu, and now shrimp) and no one else has had a similar challenge. It's not necessarily that they shouldn't have expected it and they handled it well but I still thinks the producers are assholes for knowing that they had cast a team and still at least half the challenges have been not kosher. I did love that the Beach Cruiser dude kept bitching about losing out to a quesadilla when he made a fish taco.
