  1. A couple of short teasers: "WTF" "Switch"
  2. TVLine gives the pilot a "B+" rating. The review also included this vague hint regarding a deeper plot arc:
  3. More on Greta Van Susteren, via CNN: I have to think that Van Susteren thought a "big bump" in compensation was a long-shot and that she was already half-way out the door after Ailes was fired. Also, as to her motivation for leaving: Whether she actually disagreed with Ailes' handling of Fox News or not, the "key man clause" -- triggered by Ailes' exit -- gave her an easy/legal out.
  4. Update/Correction: Sherman had earlier tweeted:
  5. Van Susteren just posted this message on her Facebook: "Fox has not felt like home to me for a few years" -- You know, since I got bumped to 7pm for that Megyn Kelly... Edit: From NYMag.com --
  6. Two developing stories today... Vanity Fair: Fox Settles with Gretchen Carlson for $20 Million—and Is Expected to Offer an Unprecedented Apology [removed tweet -- see this post] Update: Press Release from 21st Century Fox -- And, Politico: Greta Van Susteren abruptly leaves Fox News -- Brit Hume will take over "On The Record," starting tonight. Here's the press release: Edit: The official reason for Van Susteren's departure, from Fox News' Howard Kurtz: Though, Van Susteren was still tweeting Fox-related tweets as of around 7:20 a.m., this morning, and she has yet to update her Twitter bio.
  7. Ha. The chyron just had something like "The Trump Effect on Down-Ballet Races" (with "ballet" instead of "ballot").
  8. More details on Brian Williams' 11pm gig: It will be a half-hour daily wrap-up show "summing up the day's campaign news." -- Via Brian Stelter (CNN.com)
  9. The Hollywood Reporter: Hulu to end free streaming service, though some free series and films will be available through Yahoo's new service, Yahoo View (view.Yahoo.com), which will have Tumblr integration. From the Yahoo press release:
  10. Season Three will be released on December 9th. (via TVLine*) (*The link also has release dates for other Amazon series, including Transparent and The Man in the High Castle.)
  11. Variety: “L.A. Law” creator Steven Bochco is working on a reboot of the classic ’80s legal workplace drama. Nothing official yet.
  12. Here's a synopsis, from a March 2015 Deadline article. Also, this is suppose to be the first of six films.
  13. It's official: Roger Ailes "resigns." Official Fox Press Release: New York Times article:
  14. Wow. Lionsgate, who produced the Divergent film series, which starred Shailene Woodley, is apparently not going forward with the fourth/final installment, "Ascendant," on the big screen, but, due to poor box office performance of Allegiant, will instead convert it to a TV movie, which will be used to launch a TV series. (Variety) No word yet on whether Woodley or any of the other main actors will appear in the revised Ascendant, which has yet to be filmed. Edit: Link to discussion in the Divergent series film thread.
  15. Deadline - John le Carré’s ‘The Spy Who Came In From The Cold’ To Be Developed As Limited Series By Paramount TV & Ink Factory: {Current Mood: Conflicted.}
  16. The series has been pushed back (again) to "the fall." - TVLine.com:
  17. Skateboarding is actually very close to becoming an included sport in the 2020 Olympics, along with karate, surfing, and climbing. Also, baseball/softball could be back in as well. All these sports need is the approval of the full IOC Session, which takes place right before the Olympics. (IOC news article from June)
  18. Tulip is no longer coming soon to a theater near you: The Alicia Viklander film was to premiere this month, on July 15th, but has been pushed back to February 24th, 2017 (THR).
  19. EW.com: 12 Monkeys Renewed for a Third Season, but only a 10 episode order.
  20. Oh, England. And, I wake up to find that the USA actually won its group! Thanks to a 1:0 win over Paraguay, despite playing down a man for almost the entire second half (Yedlin, 2 yellow cards, sent off in the 48th minute), and Costa Rica playing spoiler by defeating Colombia 3:2. * * * For better MNT rankings, check out http://www.eloratings.net/world.html. (And, see the site's Wikipedia page for additional explanations.)
  21. And, just in time for its Blu-Ray/DVD release (which was today, June 7th), Zootopia gets the Honest Trailers treatment:

  23. Regarding the Tribune Media negotiations, all Tribune affiliates will stay with the CW, except WGN, which is going "independent." CW Press Release: The new Chicago affiliate will be WPWR-TV (currently branded "My50Chicago"), effective September 1st. (CW Press Release)
  24. Well, CBS is bringing back MacGyver, which had a few "Was It All Just a Dream"/"Mental Time Travel" episodes (Mac going back to the Old West and to a King Arthur version of Medieval England). Though, I doubt the new series will have those sorts of episodes, and I doubt even more that the series lasts long enough to allow for such episodes.
  25. That Variety article does give me some more confidence that this series can sustain itself. I've pulled out some plot and premise-related details:
