  1. So, apparently there is suppose to be a "big twist" in the pilot. Anyone know what that is? Season-Zero.com (who apparently got a look at the pilot script, or at least a significant amount of sides pages): Deadline.com:
  2. Official Trailer: Milo Ventimiglia's behind should getting its own residuals.
  3. Airs on Wednesdays this fall, after Arrow. "First Look" Trailer: Official Description:
  4. "First Look" trailer for Training Day. Skip to the 1:20 mark to see Katrina Law's lone scene. Series is being saved for "later this season." And, here's the official description for Law's character:
  5. Premieres in February 2017, following the Super Bowl (Sunday, February 4th). Normal timeslot is Mondays 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT, starting February 5th. Full Trailer: Official Description:
  6. Premieres this fall in the Wednesday 10pm Eastern timeslot, following a two-hour sitcom block. Full Trailer: Official Description: (pulled from the ABC press site)
  7. S2.E05 - Bodies of Water Jennifer's personal theme song was the Mary Tyler Moore theme "Love Is All Around" (written and originally performed by Sonny Curtis)* as covered by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 1996. Unfortunately, the Jett cover was only released as a single (Discogs.com) with a length of about 2:26 and this full version does not appear available for download/purchase on Amazon Music or Google Play, as they both just have an edited 60-second version for purchase from a "Greatest Hits" album. *Not to be confused with The Troggs' song or other songs that share the same title.
  8. Best episode of the season so far. After the set-up of the first few episodes, this episode seemed to be full of pay-offs. And, unless I missed something, I don't think Olivia is dead yet, just paralyzed.
  9. Full Trailer:
  10. Meanwhile, in the promotion play-offs, Derby making it interesting against Hull by getting two goals in the first 38 minutes of their second leg. On aggregate Hull still leads 3:2. Edit: It's final: Hull City moves on to the final against Sheffield Wednesday (on May 28th).
  11. Being saved for mid-season: Here's the official description: Source: NBC press release (via TheFutonCritic.com)
  12. Looks like it's being saved for a mid-season premiere. (ABC press release, via TheFutonCritic.com) Official Description: "First Look" Teaser Trailer: Full Trailer:
  13. For reference, regarding the Nancy Drew pilot that CBS passed on, here's the Deadline article where the "too female" quote comes from: (emphasis added) The "no slot available" is just an excuse, because if they actually liked the series, it could have been saved as a mid-season replacement, to launch in February, or even earlier, if one of the Fall shows bombed. It's disappointing, but on the other hand, I was never enamored with the heavily modified premise. I would have preferred a more "iconic" Nancy Drew, which as a modern interpretation, would probably be an independent recent college graduate, who is an entrepreneur of some sort. Or, if they went with an older Drew, then give her a teenage daughter who takes up the amateur detective mantle. Either way, both premises would probably be best suited for the CW or FreeForm (formerly ABC Family).
  14. Trailer looks good. Solid leads in Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Amused by the bad words filter. Though, at first blush, the premise seems better suited for a one-off comedy film, not a multi-season TV series. I guess I'll have to wait until I see the full pilot and a few episodes to get a better idea of the over-arching plot and to see whether the series has legs. Also, wondering if Bell's character was suppose to die when she did, or if the screw-up happened earlier in the afterlife bureaucracy (such as a Here Comes Mr. Jordan / Heaven Can Wait scenario) and there's a possibility that Bell's character can return to the mortal realm in some fashion. And, if so, that would be a definite plot game-changer that could be used after two seasons or so.
  15. Regarding the skeletons and the skull, I'm wondering if there's a good plot reason why the skull wasn't destroyed -- ground down, dissolved in lye, whatever -- and the remains dumped into the ocean or something.
  16. Yeah, I'm surprised that the Blacksmith got killed off so soon. I thought she might become a love interest for Waverly. And, I wonder if they'll actually follow up on the death, e.g. by perhaps the Blacksmith leaving all of her (supernatural) stuff to Waverly or Wynonna. I also think that Dolls mentioned Doc as the not-yet-documented case.
  17. Just caught a Kindergarten Cop airing on TBS, which features Linda Hunt as the elementary school principal, but also, much more prominently, Pamela Reed (Deek's Mom) as Arnold Schwarzenegger's cop partner. Original Trailer:
  18. Thanks for finding the title. I always thought it was one of the 1980s Twilight Zone episodes.
  19. Final Season - Premiere Episode Trailer
  20. For those in the USA, Looks like Season Two will premiere on Friday, July 1st at 9pm (Eastern / 8pm Central...) on Syfy. Dark Matter will follow in the 10/9 slot. (via TVGuide's blog, TV Insider).
  21. They really went heavy on the relationships this week. Linus/Camille/Liam (ugh), Kirsten/Cameron/Nina, and Fisher opening up to the Bodyguard. It was a translation of the quote/proverb that Kirsten said to the victim's father. With that scene, I'm guessing the show was trying to imply that whoever created the Young Cameron Construct has active inside knowledge and/or access to the Stitchers program. I think if Nina was an evil spy, the show would have revealed that at the end of this episode (e.g. meeting with someone or filing a surveillance report on her laptop). But, I'm leaning toward just Nina being nosy (or more accurately, the writers just wanting to emphasize Kirsten's obsession), rather than having a secret agenda. Though, regarding the latter my crazy wild guess would be that she turns out to be Kirsten's half-sister or something.
  22. This is finally getting some mainstream news coverage: CNN’s ‘key race alerts’ are out of control (The Washington Post).
  23. Disney Channel is running a marathon of over 50 original movies this Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 27th to Monday, May 30th). Deadline.com has the schedule. Additional original movies will air in June. Here's the schedule, direct from ABC's press release. Also, per that Deadline link, another DCOM has been announced, "The Swap," based on the novel by Megan Shull: Here's the summary for the novel, from its publisher's website:
  24. David Harewood has a recurring supporting role in the AMC mini-series "The Night Manager," which premieres tonight (April 19th) in the USA. Though, based on the not infallible IMDb, it appears that his character does not show up until next week's episode (April 26th). RadioTimes.com has a little background about his role (no real spoilers).
