  1. Too much to process at one time, but... Jennifer as an Éponine-like street urchin in 1920s France was hilarious as was her one-woman show with the classic blockbuster movie rip-offs. The Baby Witness being in the Guardian's ark was too easy to guess ahead of the reveal, so some of the episode felt unnecessarily drawn out.
  2. 3x01 Future Cole to Our Cole: "Greetings, Asshole. I'm future Asshole." 3x02 Dr. Adler: "Dear god, she's back." (on the return of Jennifer)

    MSNBC

In addition to their regular anchoring duties, Stephanie Ruhle and Ali Velshi will co-host a new weekly Saturday show, Velshi & Ruhle, which premieres this Saturday (May 20th) at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Via Forbes: According to TitanTV, this is just a half-hour show. Also, I'm not sure about whether the new show is going to be live or recorded (like "Your Business" with JJ Ramberg). * * * * * On the rating's front, MSNBC had the largest Monday through Friday primetime viewership numbers of any of the Big Three news channels for the week of May 8th, beating both FOX and CNN in total viewers (any age) as well as in the 25-54 demo. (MSNBC press release). * * * * * That's only a one time a year thing. The English Premier League (soccer) ends its season with all ten final matches played simultaneously due to fairness/competitiveness concerns.*** NBC Sports (which has the English-language rights to the EPL in the United States) is airing all ten of these matches live on the NBC family of networks, essentially as a way to promote/hype its coverage. ***For historical background, the Disgrace of Gijón (Wikipedia) was the international watershed moment for these issues. Also, in these final EPL matches, a win or even just a draw could mean millions of dollars in additional guaranteed revenue, while a loss could mean the opposite, with the worst case scenario being that the team gets relegated down to a lower league, where teams receive millions of dollars less in guaranteed revenue from television rights.
  4. New 2017-2018 ABC drama, which is being saved for mid-season. Official Trailer: Official Description (disneyabcpress.com):
  5. ^That looks surprisingly good, at least as far as production values go. Medical dramas aren't my thing, so I can't really comment on the procedural and technical aspects. But, I'll probably check out the pilot, and depending on how interesting and prominent EVC's character is, I might keep watching. Though, regardless of the actual quality of the show, it being saved for mid-season doesn't give me hope that it will find enough of an audience for FOX to renew it.
  6. For some background on the series, here's a New York Times article from March: Also, regarding the ethnicities of the Mack family, that was actually sparked by the casting of Peyton Elizabeth Lee, rather than being something planned. From the Center for Asian American Media's blog:
  7. Found this New York Times article from March, which is mainly about the channel's new sitcom, Andi Mack (forum), but also talks about the channel's ratings issues and "new direction" of more mature programming.
  8. Emily VanCamp's series, The Resident, has been given a series order at Fox (TheFutonCritic). It's on FOX -and- scheduled for mid-season, so don't get your hopes up.
  9. Given the less-than-normal scheduling for the show's current season, I figured a dedicated scheduling thread would be useful to discuss on-air scheduling as well as streaming and On Demand options. Here's the full premiere schedule for the upcoming third season (with official episode descriptions, provided as a "cheat sheet" for whomever starts the episode threads): (Source: NBCUMV.com) Note that the four Friday episodes will be shown in ~45 minute blocks. Also, the above listings are the only scheduled airings for at least the next two weeks (through May 28th), so it doesn't appear that Syfy will be airing any reruns anytime soon. (Though, that may change, once other series return, such as Killjoys, Dark Matter, Wynona Earp, et cetera.)
  10. So, Syfy has updated its logo: "That's not an 'S," it's two quotation marks rotated ninety degrees!" Accompanying press release: SYFY “REBOOTS” AHEAD OF 25th ANNIVERSARY (NBCUMV.com). The official logo update is to happen on Monday, June 19th. In other news, formal series pick-ups for the Christopher Meloni vehicle "Happy!" and the Superman-prequel "Krypton," were announced this week (NBCUMV.com). Also announced was an apparent straight-to-series pick-up for an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers (which was previously a very bad movie starring Catherine Mary Stewart of The Last Starfighter and Weekend at Bernie's).
  11. Premiere Date: Monday, July 10 at 9/8c (TVLine) 30-Second Trailer: I suddenly have the urge to play some Queen.
  12. For those in the USA (Syfy), we have a season premiere date: Friday, June 30th. The show will be in the 8pm (Eastern, 7pm Central) timeslot, ahead of Dark Matter (9pm), and Wynonna Earp (10pm).* (Source: TVLine) *The latter two shows premiere on June 9th at 8pm and 10pm, respectively, with Dark Matter moving to 9pm once Killjoys premieres.
  13. Blue Skies? What Blue Skies? "The Purge" franchise is being adapted into a series for USA/Syfy -- Via Deadline:
  14. ‘Falling Water’ Renewed For Season 2 By USA, Rémi Aubuchon Joins As Showrunner - Deadline
  15. Renewed for an eight-episode season/series three. Via Deadline:
  16. In case you thought we had reached peak Tiny House... There's going to be a Lifetime TV movie named "TINY HOUSE OF TERROR"! Here's the official synopsis (from the production company's website): Principal filming was in February (press release, via Facebook). This should air sometime later this year. (I know this isn't a reality show/series, but I thought y'all get a kick out of it.)
  17. Bex Taylor-Klaus' time on MTV's Scream looks to be over. From Deadline:
  18. Emily VanCamp has signed onto the FOX pilot The Resident (TVLine) --
  19. In case anyone wanted additional confirmation... Regarding the EW article, it looks like most of the information comes from a Syfy/NBCU press release issued today:
  20. Inspired by some discussion in the Spoilers Thread regarding Mon-El's role in the series, here's a few notable commentaries I've found: Mon-El is Supergirl’s Kryptonite ("Not Kara Danvers—the show.") - The Fandomentals (March 14th) This article is a long read (over 7000 words). Supergirl Has a Mon-El Problem - io9 (February 28th) Supergirl Season 2 Has a Love Interest Problem - Den of Geek (February 23rd) Supergirl's Kara and Mon-El: TVLine Debates, 'How Super Is This Couple?' - TVLine (January 24th) A primarily pro/positive take.

  22. A tattoo on his right lower arm -- a serpent in an "S" shape, presumably for the Southside Serpents gang.
  23. Sara Shahi has been cast as the lead in a new NBC drama pilot, "Reverie." Via Deadline :
  24. Lexa Doig will be on this week's Arrow (The CW, Wednesdays @ 8pm eastern) as Talia al Ghul, which is a recurring role.* She's also in the E! drama The Arrangement, which premieres March 1st. *Correction/Update: Looks like Doig's role started in last week's episode (January 25th, "Who Are You?").
  25. Well, it was the night of a major holiday in the Emerald City, so there may have been just a skeleton crew, and those that were on duty may have been less than sober. Though, they should have shown Dorothy at least getting past one guard somehow, but that might have been cut for time.
