I see the point being that Arya sold her soul to the devil. She doesn't have a choice in the matter. I don't see the faceless men as an organization where one an leave after they join. True, if the Valanquor refers to an actual little brother then it can't be Littlefinger. However, if it's just a ceremonial name, then Littlefinger could still be applicable since that's how Cat referred to him.
-
Since they acknowledge metas now, I assume they say that reverse flash killed him.
-
I'd assume so since the "House of Black and White" episode pretty much foreshadowed it.
-
If he avenges his daughter, one would figure that he leads the charge against Dorne in the near future. Either way I find the lack of Dorne acknowledgement for either retaliation against the Lannister's for the death of the crown prince or their preparation for war in retaliation to what happened to Myrcella to be a bit surprising . I wonder why they're pushing the women in power theme in the press when with the exception of Sansa, the main women on this show have all been in control of their own destinies/ in power for quite a while now.

I doubt the writers would use winterfell's ownership as a source of conflict. Jon Snow is on the night's watch, so I doubt he's even thinking about Winterfell other then to hope that his siblings are alive and well. Here's my likely way out there speculation for the end, just because. Bittersweet, ultimately, Dany completes her quest to regain her throne, she realizes that there's a more worthy person to place there (more on that later) so she reluctantly gives up her quest and returns back across the sea where she's needed more. Arya ultimately takes over Jacquen's place but not before she says a final goodbye to her family. I think RIckon is this season's Bronn. The person that everybody thinks is going to die but who actually doesn't die. I hypothesize that his placement at the head of the line in the king's arrival scene foreshadows his eventual becoming the head of Winterfell. Bran is hard to tell. I suspect his true purpose has yet to be revealed yet, but I'd guess that he'll be the narrator by the show's end. To what purpose? I have no idea. Little Finger is the valonquar who eventually chokes the life out of Cersei. Probably uses the "power is power" quote against her while he's doing it. He eventually unites with the Tyrells, becomes one of the big bads in the final season and a war breaks out in the Vale. Cersei kills Tommen when she falsely suspects they're in danger again. Jamie heroic sacrifices himself in one of the upcoming wars, reconciles with Tyrion and finally earns a greater write up in the kings guard book. Brienne becomes kings guard. Davos becomes hand of the king. Snow resumes his duty as head of the night's watch after successfully uniting the others with those behind the wall and repelling the white walkers. Tyrion becomes convinced to become the king and Sansa becomes the queen in a unification of two warring houses which symbolizes the unification of the kingdom in general. Now watch a bunch of the people I listed die and my list ultimately be used as toilet paper :p

Lightning Rods: Gender, Race, Homosexuality and Other Sensitive Topics
Oscirus replied to Actionmage's topic in The Flash
African Americans and any other race out there has the ability to be racist. To exclude any race from being able to have such a distinction because they're not in power or in other words perpetual victims/ underdogs or however one wants to word it is ironically enough racist. Iris's problem has little to do with being black and plenty do with suffering from the "useless woman" syndrome. Look at the other woman on this show. Caitlin has been in on Barry's secret since the very beginning, yet if she were to die in the next episode, her death would have little to no effect on team flash other then to make the team really sad/ mad. The fact that they can't find a better use for her on the show is down right pathetic. Then there's Patty. I realize most people don't like her, but ignore the dislike for a minute to see how she was treated. She's supposed to be Joe's partner on the meta human task force yet he always kept her in the dark. Also, Barry decided to keep his "Flash" secret from her because he didn't want the woman on the meta human taskforce to be in danger from any future meta humans. Basically the women on this show are treated as helpless human beings who have to rely on their male counter parts to care for them. make their decisions for them or even just to save them from the trouble they'll inevitably fall into. This show is just better then most at hiding it's misogyny under a ton of special effects. -
Yea, I agree. The biggest problem with the Iris-Barry relationship is the lack of separation ( which is amazing when you see how little time they spend on Iris). The producers really need to take some money out of the special effects budget and dole out the money for another setting.

S41.E17: Russell Crowe / Margo Price
Oscirus replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Even if your history knowledge is bad, anybody with a TV should know that Henry had a son. The other part that made no sense is that he was just hitting on a black woman, yet he acts surprised to see keenan's character. As for the white Oprah skit, if the rules of said world is that white men play black females, shouldn't Tom Cruise have been played by an African-American woman? Nothing else to say other then the fact that the cast and writers need to be revamped. There are way too many stinkers this year. -
Truth be told, I don't think either side has an argument as I don't imagine there are enough spoiler viewers out there to move the needle one way or the other. In two episodes that'll be the time when the numbers can come into focus. That being said, numbers dropping for what should have been a monumental episode isn't a good thing regardless of how minor the drop was

Nothing wrong with it. The problem is when writers start using canon as crutch to not bother building a proper romantic story. I don't think Joe was right at all. Let's keep in mind that this is her first relationship. She's pretty much learning as she goes along. Maybe she loves Barry more or maybe he's just the safe choice because he's always around her, her father approves, etc. By repeatedly having other people make relationship choices for her, this show fails to convey any depth in the relationship and fails to acknowledge that the final choice should be up to her. Hence, we never get a real answer as to who she really loves because other people/circumstances are dictating her feelings. I agree with this. The comic has established plenty of ways to separate them as a married couple without breaking them up. My only requirement is that Iris gets her own support system independent of Barry once they get married.
-
Now you're just purposely misunderstanding my quote. I said nothing about his murdering Barry's parents. As for it being a small town, there were clearly other options to adopt him. Once again, reading things in my quotes that aren't there. I'm not the one ignoring red flags to serve some epic romance. I'm guessing all those parents who don't allow their tee children to have sleepovers with kids of the opposite sex are irrational. So now we're just going to pretend the first season didn't happen? I'm pretty sure that the only reason that Joe rejected Eddie getting married to Iris was because Eddie wasn't Barry and I'm also pretty sure that Iris didn't ask for Joe's assistance at that juncture. But moving away from Joe's piss poor parenting, the fact is that the only obstacle to this romance has been Iris. She's known how he's felt for a while now and other then the time that she thought she was going to die, she's done nothing about it. Hell, we can't even say that she's jealous of Barry around other girls anymore since she bent over backwards trying to save his last relationship with Patty. If the only plus for a relationship is the universe wants them together or lol comic book, then that's not a very good reason.
-
If he didn't threaten to kill Barry it would've made sense. Especially since we know that Thawne is not a big fan of messing with the timelines. But since the threat contradicts what the show previously told us, I'm inclined to agree.
-
Yea I don't think Moushumi is basic or even over-rated. I believe that she's just hard-headed and relies too much on the best tool in her arsenal. One way or the other, she's going to learn come the live shows.
-
Still problematic. Joe still arranged for a kid who had a crush on his daughter to have a permanent sleep over with her and since last season basically confirms that he's apparently a west-allen shipper, he basically child brided his daughter which is not charming at all. As a matter of fact the only thing this story shows is that the showrunners were too cheap to hire a couple of actors to play Barry's foster parents. And that's not a good pairing either. Their pairing would be slightly less annoying then the "adorkable" Batty pairing.
-
I don't think he did buy the bluff. I believe he probably played along and placed more future security measures to ensure his survival.
-
That was a huge botch because they turned off a certain section of people whose first thoughts are incest. It also means that over-protective Joe was fine with putting a hormonal teenager with a crush on his daughter in the same house on a permanent sleepover. The writers also robbed Iris of the one thing in this story that Iris should've been able to have for herself. They couldn't have thought up any better foster parents then the father of the girl that he's supposed to be with? As for the Iris- Eddie botch, I'm blaming everybody, the actress, the writers, the directors. Barry brings up that they were married in another world and Iris ( who has recently lost a fiancée who she thinks every day about) doesn't react at all except to be intrigued by the idea. That's pretty much this season's Iris storyline in general. There's no resentment, anger, sadness, just going on about her every day life until the script calls for her to remember Eddie. As for Barry- Iris, the writers haven't bothered to do anything to even justify them getting together other then just saying, comic books or destiny. Either way, I'm not as invested as I should be with such an epic comic book pairing.

I agree, but the judges shouldn't talk about wanting to get into country and complain about never getting country artists when they refuse to steal one despite having multiple opportunities. I agree that all the pearl clutching over that lyric is unnecessary but at the same time, know your audience.
-
They did a good job keeping Briana's pregnancy under wraps. I admittedly didn't see that coming. Have Christy and Terra lost their minds? Why would you throw glasses at each other with your two pregnant friends at the same table? There is no way that you can justify something like that.
-
I thought Elena was fairly classy about it. She didn't reveal anything until Christy revealed her adoption. Besides, it was like a five minute thing then the attention went back to Briana. While I do understand the ladies problems with Matt, I don't see why they'd even come to her bachelorette party since that's basically a celebration of her marriage to him. They should've either fake supported her or stfu about it and kept their fake opinions to confessionals. All that extra stuff was unnecessary. Jasmine, you are officially banned from throwing parties. You have abused the privilege, so the privilege has been revoked.

- Can somebody slap the shit out of Barry the next time he talks about time traveling. Good god, how many times is this dude going to keep creating enemies by doing that nonsense? - It's mighty convenient that in the year since Eddie's died that Iris has a heart to heart with Barry concerning her feelings about Eddie's death. That would've been mighty awkward if the she was grieving like this the whole season. Can somebody also slap the shit out of the next person who calls that work meeting a date? -A good pied piper? What an interesting development? I wonder if that means that he was around for the events of the first season. Wally engine talk bores me. I know it's supposed to build up to the kid Flash reveal, but whatever. Finally the only thing that Zoom has on Wells is a really cool voice. It was probably not a good idea to remind us of that.

This was a fairly uneventful night. Adam established himself as a threat while everybody else came across as pretenders. Onto the knockouts Adam vs Peyton- On a side note, this is another reason why country people don't pick anybody other then Blake. The judges have plenty of opportunities to steal country artists in the battle rounds and knockouts. Yet, they never do, thereby showing that they weren't serious about actually wanting a country artist. Adam was great. If Peyton was up against anybody else but Adam or Mary Sara, I'd say she should go to the Lives, but she wasn't so she goes home instead. Moushumi vs Nick- Thank god Pharell got rid of that falsetto fool. That was not a good look. And Xtina, if you thought that he won the battle the say it while giving the critique instead of being wishy washy and complaining about the results in confessional. Now onto Moushumi. She's easily my favorite and she was awesome at the beginning but man did she screw up big time. Let me count the ways. 1. People say that was the wrong song, I disagree. It only felt like the wrong song because she blatantly ignored Pharell and Miley's advice and sung in a way that did not allow her to showcase any new facets of her voice. It's never good to be a one trick pony in a competition like this. No matter how good that trick is. 2. She sang this song way too pretty. This is a millennial anthem there should be an edge to one's voice when singing such a song. The lack of emotion was noticeable. 3. While I can't blame the song, the lyrics were questionable. I read a lot of online complaints centered around the use of the marijuana lyric. As much as I'm a fan of Moushumi, I fear that she pretty much just earned herself the death slot with that performance. Hopefully. she can recover well enough to make it to the final twelve. But it's going to take a lot. Maya vs Tamar- No idea what xtina did with Maya, but was a hot mess. Pharell there was no need to lie about Maya like that. Tamar just had to sing the song well enough to get to the lives which she did. I think Tamar did a good job but not a great job. Assuming the 3 person per hour model they've been using. It's safe to say we'll get one montage. Probably Katherine against whoever she's singing against

It's only an hour tomorrow and it said six artists so only three matchups tomorrow and the final perfomances/montages on Monday. From the previews the matchups are as follows: Moushmi vs Nick, Peyton vs Adam, Maya vs Tamara. Back to this show. Paxton vs Angie- Paxton competently sung that song, Angie made the wrong song choice. So yea, Paxton deserved the win. I don't see Paxton going much further unless Blake wants to musically diversify his team. Owen vs Ryan- It feels like these two should be contenders, yet they're really not. Owen was clearly better, but he's definitely going to need to improve. Ryan on Christine's team? He'd better improve by a lot if he even wants to think about surviving part Hannah vs Malik- Hannah launched herself into the contender conversation, Malik sang a fun song. Katie vs Lacey- Katie clearly won and has the possibility of making some noise while Pharrell is apparently intent upon bringing a team of pretty white girls to the lives ( yes I know tomorrow's matchup makes that impossible but let me have this). Allisan vs Daniel- That was painful to watch, Daniel's heart breaking after each comment was just wow. I'm pretty sure Daniel knew he was going to lose so Daniel sang for the steal. Would've been a smart strategy if Pharrell wouldn't have wasted his steal on Lacey. If I have to listen to all of this ridiculous praise after every Allisan performance then I'm just going to go nuts. My mute button's going to get a workout this season. Emily vs Shalyah- It came down to great song choice vs great performance. I don't think Pharrell got rid of Shaylah to encourage the steal as much as the fact that Shalyah was too close to Hannah's wheel house. I think Emily's another live show casualty while Shalyah can go deep. So it looks like the race for number two is on as the showrunners have already crowned the winner this season.

Blake has pretty much put it out that if he's forced to sit out a season that he's gone for good and NBC wouldn't dare call him on that bluff since it's doubtful that they could get a country star as established as Blake without paying him more money . Adam probably piggybacked off the same threat.
-
Forgotten in the Sawyer season is the fact that Pharell also got Koryn into the finals and let's be honest, nobody else was getting her anywhere close to the finals. Pharell's problem tends to be getting the right people into the live shows which is something else altogether. As Christina and Adam have shown it's quite easy to get the favorite of the season, the hard part is maintaining their popularity the whole time and winning with them.

I'm actually interested in seeing how Moushmi gets around the marijuana lyric that's in her chosen song.
