I wonder why some birthdays hit differently than others? For instance, Tiki Barber (huh. I just realized that the newspaper mentioned Tiki, and not Hall of Famer Ronde. Stands to reason they share a birthday) turns 49 today and I was like “huh. That seems right.” But also celebrating a birthday today is Tony Dorsett, who turns 70, and I was like “70? 70?!? No way I feel like I *just* saw him play.” Very odd dichotomy.

The pitch clock is taking a lot of heat today and to that I say yahoo.

It felt like of all of the bakers, Anna’s talking heads played her greatest hits more than the rest. Every week it was “not classically trained” “hey did you know I’m Greek?” over and over and it was grating.

That’s what I don’t get. Why is everyone paying attention to women’s basketball because of this brown-haired white girl? Rebecca and Diana and Sue and Breanna were also brown-haired white girls. Were they hamstrung by going to Connecticut? What about Sheryl and Cheryl, two of the best hoopers ever? Tamika? Candace? Is it NIL? The interwebs? Twitter? Yes I know the ratings for yesterday’s games were probably monstrous (not only because of Caitlin, but probably the majority) and I wish I could pinpoint what’s different now. Other than I’m a salty old broad.

Ok so this time Anna didn’t cry, but everyone else did. Stop crying! Nickey’s cake was gorgeous. If only the taste worked she would have won for sure. When Alex got confetti cake somewhere Molly looked up, but she doesn’t know why.

ESPN has played the Angels radio announcer a lot because it was a highlight whenever Shohei sneezed, so I’ve been hearing him for a few years. But this year he sounds so sad. I know it was a tough opening weekend for the team, but that poor guy just sounds despondent.
