  1. "Bad news for the James Haters..." Well, hmm. James is annoying but I don't know if I really need him off the show. (If I said I did, I'm fine with someone calling me out on that, LOL.) He kind of falls into the "love to hate" category for me. He's not sketchy like Lala, nor is he truly angrifying like, say, Rinna on RHOBH. I think I just want him to do better for himself in the way I kind of want Sandoval to do the same. I'm rolling my eyes a bit about the addition of his girlfriend, though. She's nice but not all that interesting, from what I can manage to remember. Checked out New Dude's instagram. It's pretty innocuous and he looks pretty normal (for a mactor). Let's see what happens to him after a season of the show. :p
  2. See, I'd like to see a Subaru ad that didn't use the melancholy background music and nostalgia angle of handing the keys to your old Subaru to your teen. It's one thing to have those as part of your ad mix but those are ALL I'm seeing.
  3. I can't quit you, Dorinda! In addition to the matter of an education, I would guess that many other people might object to a mom forcing/encouraging her daughters to enter a profession known to have many severe issues associated with it (anorexia, drug abuse, etc). Of course that doesn't mean any specific girl would end up with those issues, but to some it'd be like throwing the young women into the path of a moving train. On the other hand it's also a great way to see the world and make money (and connections), so if you can manage to take the good and avoid the bad, you'll have the facts of life a pretty good life. Then head on to higher learning if you choose.
  4. I agree with that -- and besides, Vicki can be blamed for so many things, it's not necessary to saddle her with Shannon's weight gain ;)
  5. On what planet is Shannon a "big fat heifer"? Maybe she put on weight but she's hardly Gwyneth Paltrow's "Shallow Hal" character. I don't think it's all that unheard of to put on weight on stressful situations, and if she feels betrayed by Vicki--in a very public way--well, I'm not surprised. (Though she should probably have better self-care rituals.)
  6. I, too, was puzzled by this ad for all the reasons mentioned. So a while back, I took an informal poll of about a dozen late-teens/early-20's folks--and yeah, they all knew Ferris Bueller and loved the movie. (Learning that the guy is on Stranger Things? Makes sense, in a certain level.) I recognize the dad from a bunch of other local TV shows, so it's hard to take the ad seriously as a testimonial. I mean, I guess that he could legitimately have a daughter in dental school, but it seems implausible. Yeah, that's her. I also remember her from the movie Leprechaun.
  7. Not a bad idea. She could even be coy and say that her wigs are a fun way for women to switch up their looks and feel confident while doing so. (And PS they're great for those who lose their hair through chemo, alopecia, etc)
  8. Don't give her any ideas. I already heard that the next episode will feature a 10-minute tour of her redone crib. She'll conduct said tour wearing a corset and marabou-trimmed robe, then dip into a bubble bath with a glass of Ramona Pinot Grigio. And on on that note... geez, this was a real estate-heavy ep.
  9. She's like Jill from Odd Mom Out minus the all-black color palette.
  10. Quote from the article. Too funny because my VPR malaise hit me today! And, I was just googling SUR to plan an (imaginary) vacation. I hope that Schwartz and Katie aren't breaking up. I guess it wouldn't be surprising but it still kind of stinks. IF TRUE they probably spent more time planning the wedding than living the marriage.
  11. Well, we had the Duggars... but we know how that ended up... I thought the editing with his drink order was a little weird too. It was super choppy and we never really saw his face.
  12. Geez, that was tacky! I mean they're both rude to each other, but that was a super unnecessary comment. I'm not super into getting hammered but I would have pounded back a crap ton of Shirley Temples to get away from that hot mess express...
  13. Still down for "Cap'n Gizmo, CRB, MFT, Esq." over here... UGH. Y'all sick of Kathryn, I'm already sick of Chelsea.
  14. Dollars to donuts they thought they had another Penny on their hands and were salivating at the thought of the online snark... I mean, "buzz."
  15. Actually I just did, a couple weeks ago :) That said, the way Suzanne talked about it was SUPER random and the tie-in to her dessert was pretty threadbare.
  16. My brain immediately went to Middle Eastern foods--dates, yogurt, olive, pita, hummus...
  17. ...And Southern Bieber lives to cook another day. Au revoir, Penny 2.0. You just go ahead and believe that a little more butter would have saved you. I know my lack of Jason love is often at a table of one here, but my concern from the bake off seems to have borne out: he's cranking up the "southern charm." It's too much for me.
  18. Come to where the flavor is... come to Bethenny Country
  19. I feel like if I say anything else about this I'll dig myself into a bigger ditch on this when I don't intend to, lol. I totally hear you. And I hate... well, hate is a strong word for me... dislike I guess?... seafood too ;) Seafood porridge is my waterline for no-go foods. (And no offense to those who love it) But clearly you (and others here) are not the kind of people that I'm referring to. It's primarily that *Carole* has this "cool" attitude that isn't really all that cool as she portrays it to be. I don't really mean food here, just in her attitude to people who aren't in her tight circle. In previous seasons we've seen Carole serve her guests delivery pizza when they came over, and they whined about it. And I think in that same episode she mentioned that she's not a fancy eater. And at that time, I was like, that's fair. (And who whines about the food you're given anyway?) I don't really care personally what she eats. And she DID come off as laid back. I don't know if I'd use that term for her now. She now (in particular, not any of you reading this... unless you're Carole, lol) comes off as strangely provincial when she approaches unfamiliar food.
  20. LOL! Me too. (Smitten, anyone?) I just know I'd get crucified in some quarters for making that mistake. So please, don't tell anyone on Yelp that I momentarily confused a place in the Sunset with one in the Mission. I have a reputation to uphold. ;) Now if all ice cream shops were called "Baby" and served only chocolate ice cream, I wouldn't have this problem!
  21. For me it's less about what food she does and doesn't like, and more about the attitude. I don't care what anyone eats (and if she just serves her guests pizza or Trader Joe's appetizers, what's it to me? I often do the same) but she just seems to not be as open minded about as many things as she portrays herself to be. Food is just emblematic of that. As I said, MMV on that.
