  1. Yeah, when he said that if she gets anxious, he pulls away, I thought--well, that in itself is an issue he doesn't seem to want to deal with. The more he pulls away, the more she freaks out. Not saying that her freakouts are cool (and she needs to learn how to deal with those), but at the same time--if he really wants to fix his marriage, he needs to start talking with her and stop running to the gym every time he gets uncomfortable. In essence he's blaming her bad behavior for his bad behavior, and I don't know that that is ever productive, especially because his bad behavior triggers hers in turn, and especially because this pattern of behavior occurred while the affair was going on.
  2. Ooh, I'm on board with Fighting Santas. Bring on Iceland!
  3. What is this figure of speech? What figure? What is there to figure, you just speak and there you go! I do not understand this American.
  4. The Lisa Douglas sure is strong with Peggy. It's like it gets amped up even more each episode. Remember when we kinda thought she might be a little ok?
  5. I guess they feel like teh millennialz love her? Wah. Why didn't luxury brands pander to MY generation? The best we got was the wannabe Christian Slater in the Subaru ad. "It's like punk. Except it's cars." Crap. Just realized... I own an Impreza. So I guess it worked on me, 20 years later?
  6. This tweet reminds me of our dear Peggy... But imagine if the bird were Armenian...
  7. This episode's story lines were pretty blah. I did, however, catch the long shot of the Clorox detergent at the beginning. Real sneaky, show!
  8. What a country! In Armenia, I had to leave my Birkin at home because everyone has a Birkin, and who wants to be seen with the same purse as someone else! In America, I leave it at home because New Yorkers are crazy, and you never know who will steal your purse while you're shopping for skirts at Tom Ford! What a country! Real Housewives, Mad Men, and now Nancy Drew? film noire, are we the same person? It's another case for Meghan PI! What will be her catchphrase? "Brittneee, you're the twenty lime slices in my vodka soda. Will you be my Holistic Crystal of Love?" I saw a few episodes of ROL's first and second seasons a while ago. (I miss that forum...) The first was total fun cheese, but the second had the scent of desperation, a combination of bandanna sweat, Malibu breath, and the dry-down stage of Coty Wild Musk. (I couldn't bring myself to watch much of Rock of Love: Bus. That was truly depressing.) But Bret-Shannon as Bret's wing person on a dating show? That couldn't be anything but awesome.
  9. Bugs from Below Deck Meh... I mean Med. I was coming here to say... A new season begins. Can't wait to find out who I'll come to be annoyed with over the next few weeks.
  10. It not is like, how do you say, stale bread that starts to stink after staying in your house for three days.
  11. What's that joke about boat ownership? The best days of a boat owner's life are the day you bought it and the day you sell it... The Armenian stuff gets tiresome from Peggy, but in this forum? It won't get old.
  12. UCLA! I was surprised she didn't pronounce it "Yoo-klah" for our benefit.
  13. In Armenian culture, babies are not so fast. Their baby dates are chaperoned and each baby must keep at least one foot (if not both feet) on the floor at all times.
  14. I just watched the last two episodes last night, so this is fresh for me :) I call him "Creepy Pete," if that's any indication of my feelings about him. But in those last two episodes, I truly bought that he had an opportunity for a fresh start in life, and that his reconciliation with Trudy was real--in fact, I thought, "Dangit, PETE is making me cry." I saw a genuine look of relief and joy on his face. So I smiled, too, because I had hope for him. It speaks to the strength of Vincent Kartheiser's acting skills that he can convey a true change in heart on his face and with his body language. And even his tone of voice--it felt less pinched and more relaxed.
  15. I could've done without the first segment of this episode.
  16. Raise your hand if you think Jax just took a photo of someone else's engagement ring, just so he could have a photo on his phone that he could show to Memaw, the frosty-lipped lady, and Pa.
  17. I've noticed this as well. I just watched the episode where Megan meets Stephanie. Stephanie enters the house and says something like, "You're so magnetic!" Huh? Show, don't tell, Mad Men! I could see how people were charmed by Betty--she exuded that "something" that would draw people (especially men) in. Joan as well, and Peggy in her own way (mostly how she drew mentors to herself). Megan, not so much. I guess that's why the characters had to tell us how gorgeous and magnetic she was. It's not good writing when you have to convince us of something we can't see. You didn't have to tell us (through the mouths of characters) that Betty was glamorous or Joan was sexy or Peggy was creative in such a straight-out way. We could see it through the way their characters behaved.
  18. I don't doubt Peggy; her choice is understandable. I just am missing something re: why Shannon is focusing on the BRCA gene. The butterfly thing was dumb. Maybe it loses something in the Armenian-to-English translation.
  19. "You and Shannon and Tamra? That's an odd couple!" How right you are, Vicks. Three is literally an odd number, THEY are odd... Too bad they aren't a couple...
  20. Peggy says (paraphrased): Why is Shannon telling me Tamra is mad? If Tamra is mad, why isn't Tamra in front of me? Pegs, I know Armenians were the first reality stars and all, but seriously: have you never watched one of these shows? Half or more than half is about Party A telling Party B what Party C thinks, and then HAVING a party where all interested parties explode over what happened. Also: I feel like we are missing something about Peggy's cancer story. The BRCA gene is not (so far as I know) the only indicator for breast cancer. Why is Shannon interested in starting up Cancergate II over this? It's not great to toss that stuff around just to sound like you know what you're talking about.
  21. Maybe LVP was hoping for that, what with her offer to "partner" with the Toms on a bar at the end of last season? I agree, that would be kinda fun to watch.
  22. Scott is really good looking and kind of charming. I even find his onion issue endearing (I know, I know...).
