  1. What actual evidence is there that Kate didn't visit Collin?
  2. They all need to get off social media and the television. I agree that Kate was awful, but its now Jon who can't get enough public attention. Mady made a statement after being bombarded with hate mail from complete strangers. She was a child, and yet she's being judged far more harshly than Jon. And please leave poor Cara's LinkedIn profile alone. I feel terrible for all 8 kids. People need to stop harassing them. Its starting to sound like stalking.
  3. Maddy posted a statement on Instagram implying that that Collin has made violent threats towards them as recently as last year. She's apparently getting bombarded with hate mail because of that documentary show. Every story has two sides, and I just don't buy Jon's innocence act. I don't believe he has no idea why 6 of his kids don't speak to him. I remember him being an ass at the end of the original show when the divorce was happening, and he hung out with Lindsay Lohan's father and went on that Couples Therapy show. Also, why did Colleen dump him, then accuse him of using her cancer for attention? And I think there is more to the Collin story too. They don't just lock kids up for years for no reason. There is an assessment, and doctors/therapists would have to find cause for him to stay there. And Jon had to deal with the police on Collin's behalf on at least one occasion too. There is more to this story than Jon and Collin are telling us.
  4. If Gwen invited Kody to her wedding and he chose not to attend, my heart hurts for her. He's still her father regardless of family drama and he should've attended if invited. I'm glad Gwen has lots of other people supporting her though. She was a beautiful bride.
  5. https://people.com/sister-wives-kody-brown-calls-himself-a-devil-as-robyn-sobs-over-broken-family-7560362 It is beyond pathetic that Meri bothered to have a meeting to tell Robyn and Kody she was leaving. Kody couldn't care less, and Robyn is not really her friend. I'm glad it appears that Meri finally leaves though. Kudos to Janelle for telling Kody to fuck off. And still no actual tears from Robyn while crying.
  6. I'm pretty sure TLC will be deciding the guest list at the wedding. I don't know anything about David's finances, but Christine's cash flow is completely dependent on payments from the show itself and the fans of the show who likely make up the bulk of Christine's MLM customers. Christine won't wipe her butt unless TLC approves it in writing. And no, the other wives aren't any better.
  7. Christine found another man to cling to and scammed a million sympathetic leg humpers into buying MLM crap. I would be impressed if she went out and got a real job that doesn't involved MLM, and lived as an actual independent, self-sustaining single mother (with her own health insurance!) for a while. What she's doing right now is not impressive at all, and not really a step up from what Robyn is doing. They're all grifters. They're all living off their notoriety. But yeah, the outfit looks okay. Better than the black dress she wore before.
  8. I stopped watching their Instagram feed, although I do still follow them on my Instagram. They are so boring now. It's like every day for them is Saturday. It's like watching my retired parents. But with way more fast food and more stylish clothing choices. I'm shocked she is finally going to do the EEG. If she was as sick as she once claimed, she would have been more insistent on getting it scheduled. I would have been calling every day trying to schedule it if I was having seizures and couldn't drive anywhere for months. Its sad how Layla and so many kids of Instagram "influencers" play up to the camera.
  9. If Christine had gone to a tailor and had a real fitting, it might have been okay. As it is, it is way too loose on top and almost seems to be falling off her. If it fit right, she probably wouldn't look too bad.
  10. Even if this is the gross profit and not her salary, do you know how many leg humpers have to be buying the pink shit for Janelle and Christine to be pulling in this kind of money?? And guaranteed that 75% or more of their buyers are Sister Wives fans who started buying because they just LOVE Janelle and Christine and have bought into the idea that they are somehow supporting them as victims of Kody/polygamy by buying Plexus. Say what you will about Meri, but I'll spend $6,000 to go sit in Parowan for a weekend before I'll ingest Plexus.
  11. So is Christine out of the Utah rental house now? I would assume she or David bought a house, since she is redoing the backyard and deck.
  12. Just like most memoirs, I'm assuming this book is almost completely ghost written. As a technical writer myself, it always pisses me off when people like Derrick, Jill, and Jinger claim to be "authors". You didn't write shit, and you have no idea what it's really like to draft something like that from start to finish. So stop taking the credit. That being said, I didn't learn from the documentary that I didn't already know, and I'm not sure the book will be any different. Both Jill and Jinger seem reluctant to throw any truly significant dirt at their parents. Jill throws occasionally shade, but doesn't make a direct comment.
  13. So I watched the whole documentary, and I thought Jill was only a little harder on her parents than Jinger was in her book and book-related interviews. It was Amy who brought up the physical punishments, etc. Even what Derrick and Jill said about the money situation seemed pretty mild and mostly pointed the finger at how TLC did the contracts. Derrick and Jill did rewrite history bit though, as others have pointed out. They left out the second reason that Derrick specifically was fired from the show, and there were some large gaps and errors in their timeline of how things played out. Even with IBLP, they mostly stuck to the facts, and allowed witnesses to give statements. Some of what happened is pretty impossible to defend. But even with that Jill didn't really say much. She was used more as filler, in my opinion.
  14. I believe child labor laws don't apply to kids on reality shows in general. Because children on reality shows are seen as "participants" and not working actors, they get little to no protection from the government.
  15. Even if you believe that Jim Bob made $18 million off the show, you have to divide that by the 19 kids and the two parents if you're going to hand out everyone's fair share. Then minus the taxes. Derrick says minimum wage, but I haven't seen him say how many hours it was determined that Jill worked. It could be quite a bit of money even if it ends up being minimum wage, if you count every minute the camera crew was present as work time. Derrick is bitter and a bit of an opportunist. Same as Amy.
  16. I'm curious what the motivation is to participate in the documentary and put out a memoir. Is it money? I'm assuming that Derrick got a job as a lawyer, but I haven't kept up with them or their social media. I agree with others that Derrick really wants to stick it to Jim Bob. I don't like Jim Bob, but Derrick and Jill are grifters too, making money off their "fame" and exploiting it to a degree. Hopefully this doesn't ruin Jill's relationship with her siblings. With both Jill and Jinger, I question whether these books are their ideas or if their husbands are pushing them to do it because it is so profitable.
  17. I'm curious to see the next season with the likely Kody/Janelle split, and the awkwardness between Christine and Robyn during Mykelti's pregnancy with twins. Beyond that, they don't offer much that I will be interested in. I'm not interested in Christine's new relationship, Mykelti/Tony randomly filling air time, and whatever they are going to show Meri actually doing. I really hope they don't do a Christine/David wedding special, although I'm certain that Christine is pushing hard for that.
  18. I know a conservative Christian who homeschools her 3 kids the way you are supposed to, and it can be very successful and a great education and they can get lots of socialization. But it requires effort and lots of organization, and I'm not sure Carlin and Evan are really up for that. Although Evan did seem very dedicated to the electrician training when he was doing it. The first couple months I followed them on Instagram, I really thought they had their shit together. They came off that way to me. Then Zade was born and the seizures started, and things understandably got chaotic. But now that Carlin appears to be stable and healthy, they still don't seem to be getting back to a regular, organized and productive life. If this is how they are going to continue to live, I agree that homeschool may not be a good option for them.
  19. They're not really home all day. They are running errands all day, every day, from the looks of their Instagram updates. Its like every day for them is Saturday, which is basically like retired people. And I noticed that despite having so much family time, nobody cooks a meal. Like almost never. Is Layla 3 years old now? Shouldn't she be in part-time preschool or something? Many churches offer that. They are raising her to be center of attention, all the time. She needs to learn sharing and other age-appropriate behaviors.
  20. When I first starting following them on Instagram, I really got sucked in and felt bad for Carlin and felt like Evan was really working hard at the electrician training and getting a regular job, unlike so many fundies and reality stars we see. Now I feel like they're a bigger scam than some of the Duggars. If Carlin gets pregnant again soon, that will be proof the seizures were never a big deal and they exaggerated the whole thing. I started to be really suspicious when they got on a plane to San Diego for a wedding after being in the emergency room the night before. But I didn't want to be too cynical and judge them prematurely. And I have never in my life seen people outside of My 600lb Life eat so much fast food.
  21. Have they said anything recently about Carlin's seizures and that in-patient test she was supposed to have?? She seems to be doing okay, but Evan never seems to mention going back to being an electrician after he did all the schooling for it. They almost appear to be on a permanent vacation. I had so much hope for these two becoming productive citizens, but now they seem as bad as the Duggars.
  22. True, but I wouldn't want to see my father taken advantage of either. Christine is like the rest of the Browns when it comes to money. No health insurance and at least one bankruptcy, but also taking vacations, buying/renting huge houses, and driving nice cars. I wouldn't put it past Christine to cling to David financially.
  23. They took another trip to Disneyland. Where is she getting all this money from?? Or is David funding all these trips now? I'm sure his grown kids would love seeing their inheritance spent on Christine.
  24. Yes. But at least she no longer appears to be waiting around for Kody and Robyn to pay attention to her for 30 seconds. I hope the next season of the show isn't more Meri and Robyn backyard discussions. I hope Meri is finally getting away and finding something else to do.
