  1. See, I look at it from the female perspective that if a loud mouthed man drove up to me and offered his number, I would be pretty weirded out too.
  2. Only on TV does someone chase a friend or loved one to the front door of a house calling their name, but then just stop when they reach the door. They don't follow outside to the car. It's like there's an invisible barrier. Admittedly, I think this is mostly a soap thing.
  3. I had to laugh at the female chef who said she watched the show enough to know that a lot of contestants want to buy a car. I thought, what show have you been watching because I honestly don't think I have ever heard that! I actually find it refreshing when a contestant just wants to have fun with the earnings.
  4. I just saw that commercial with the girl crying. Holy cow is she annoying! Plus, why couldn't they have a scene with her having fun in her house? I can see why she wants to move if her life has been that sad in it.
  5. That was one of the funniest scenes in a movie! Robert Downey was also pretty funny in his response.
  6. Any Panera's "clean" food commercials annoy the heck out of me! The commercials just come off as pretentious. I was never a frequent Panera customer, now I have absolutely no desire to go there!
  7. When most people wore clip ons, there were numerous scenes in which an actress would take off her earring to talk on the phone. It was very common. I think it was esp. common if the earring was large and chunky but close to the ear.
  8. My UO is that I didn't like Roseanne and thought it was pretty overrated, esp. as the show progressed.
  9. Marsupial, I wish I could give you ten likes! I love listening to commentaries because I like hearing insights to the creative process. However, what is on the screen should not have to be explained to the general audience. If so, the writer has not done his or her job well.
  10. I couldn't stand the girl either and I am a woman. In fact, every time any woman starts with the cliche "people don't think I can cook because I am a woman" speech, I automatically put them on my please lose list. I get that there is discrimination, but neither is this the 1800's. You are not breaking any new ground. Just shut up and cook!
  11. I guess, when it comes down to it, I like that people have different pronunciations of words whether due to accents or regional upbringing. I appreciate the diversity of language. How boring would it be to have everyone pronounce every word the same. My fear is that accents are disappearing and that we are losing some uniqueness in our language.
  12. My UO is that I don't fault the networks for putting on programming that brings in good ratings. I hate, hate, hate that BBC America shows Star Trek TNG all the time. However, someone must be watching it and the network is a business that needs good ratings. I would love a law that says a network must show programming that fits their name, history shows on the History channel and such but that won't happen. If certain shows don't bring in the ratings and revenue a channel needs to stay solvent, I can't really blame them for putting on ones that do.
  13. As wings707 said, recalls are expensive and companies would rather have cars that work. However, there will always be unforseen issues that come up that the companies have a legal responsibility to correct. What I don't understand is how noone looked at this bad design and said "this us not good!". It truely was an accident waiting to happen! That design never should have made it past the drawing board.
  14. The Charlie Brown episode was the first one with which I've been impressed. The winners was esp. good. I pretty much stopped watching because I have been so unimpressed week after week. I'm sure they are good bakers and designers, but the format doesn't allow for their best. Why do they have to have an elimination at the beginning, for example. The show doesn't have to be just like Food Network Challenge, (pity) but they could do more to let the contestants shine.
  15. I not only liked Riley, but season four was one of my favorites.
  16. What really bothers me is when I hear someone say, "I heart ...". Heart is a noun, not a verb! You can love something, not heart something. It is nails on a chalkboard to me, my own personal pet peeve!
  17. Coderlady, it sounds like you were watching the Jack Cassidy episode about the authors. I kept wondering what Jack Cassidy was going to do now that his meal ticket was gone!
  18. I'll one up you on the Juliette UO, I didn't think the Hawks on Legends of Tomorrow were all that bad. Not great, but not bad enough for the rabid hate either.
  19. Yeah, I think frozen waffles may have been the fanciest week day breakfast! Cereal was pretty much it. But even that, you didn't pour a huge bowl and then rush out a minute later. There was a soap where a maid would cook these huge breakfasts and, inevitably, all anyone wanted was coffee. You would think she would learn after awhile. Only on TV!
  20. That is like when kids come down to breakfast before school, sit down to a table with pancakes , eggs or whatever, and then rush to the bus a minute or two later. I can tell you my mom would never make a full breakfast before school without making sure we were going to eat it, even if that meant dragging us out of bed early.
  21. I agree that Billie wasn't too bad. I also didn't think Pheobe was as bad as many thought. Really I thought each sister and actress had their high and low points, but none bothered me to the point that I felt I couldn't watch. My Charmed UO, is that I didn't think the effects were too bad considering it was a weekly TV show and not a multi million dollar movie. I just need a good story with likable characters. This goes for any effect laden show. I am OK with "cheesey" special effects.
  22. This can probably also go in the REALLY unpopular thread, but I wasnt crazy about Smart/Captain Cold on Legends of Tomorrow. The way he talked just annoyed me and I had trouble listening to him. I didn't dislike him, but I didn't think he was the greatest either.
  23. Another girl. Really, are there ever boys born on this show? Anyway, I watched because it was Tony's last show, but it came off rather soap operish.
  24. I didn't really like anything tonight. Dom's jacket had potential but the whole outfit looked meesy and slouchy. Sam' jacket I didn't mind so much but I didn't care for the print and the outfit underneath was underwhelming. I really liked Ken's prints together but it was a pretty boring piece. Kini's, the prints were good but those shoulders had to go!
  25. Actually, you may be on to something there. That would make sense in some of the cases, at least.
