  1. Me: I didn't get out of work until four. Someone: Are you cereal?! Me: No, I am not a breakfast food, but I am SERIOUS about getting out of work late. I don't know if anyone else has heard that idiotic phrase, but it has become semi popular where I live. It is right up there in stupidity with I "heart"... Again, heart is not a verb.
  2. I really liked Vinny, too. In fact, I think season two is my favorite ( I am also watching it right now). It seemed the most consistent of any season with each team having some great pieces. Plus, the final zombie wedding was the best!
  3. I guess I am in the extreme minority, but, judging just by the end product, I understand why the Undertakers are still there. The eliminated team had some nice details, but it just didn't work. The Under bakers did do some good work, but that's just my opinion. That being said, I don't care for the team and my fear is that they will win the whole thing. I do kind of understand why the two were so frustrated with the pumpkin artist. He just wouldn't listen. Maybe they could have come up with a plan to fill the space if they worked better together. I do think the winning team has done some of the best work I have seen in a while.
  4. Aw, that's too bad. I like this show, esp. the celebrity editions and camp cutthroat. Plus, there weren't many sob stories, which was refreshing.
  5. I can see why the losing team went home. Although I liked the idea they had, the faces on their sculpture were really bad. In fact, I thought the "good" side looked more evil than the bad side. The boy was just creepy. I'm not a fan of the Undertakers, but their work has improved. The ice cream man was pretty good. Plus, they seemed to work better this week. The person I don't care for is the blond lady. She just rubs me the wrong way.
  6. Yes. I believe so. Not a great Rachel Ray fan but I know she loves animals. Still, I bought her dry cat food after my sister said her cats loved it. Mine hated it (and he ate everything!) so I gave it to my mom and her cats didn't like it. Talked to my sister later and her cats stopped eating it. Maybe it's "Nutrish" but not so tasty.
  7. I just saw a Fitbit commercial which starts with the daughter giving her father a Fitbit and ends with her getting married. My question is, did she give it to him because she wanted him healthy or because she wanted him to fit into his wedding clothes so as not to embarras her on her big day? I didn't quite have that "aw" moment that I am sure I was supposed to feel.
  8. Yeah, I think the competition this year seems pretty good. I, too, liked the small scare sculpture with the sack and was surprised it didn't win. Loved the winning presentation, esp. the dog and the clerk. I wasn't surprised at the losing team but felt really bad for the multiple loser who went home again. I like him and hoped his team would go longer in the competition. A question about that though - who decides the teams? Are they put together at random?
  9. I guess I am one of the few that didn't mind the new judges. I didn't care for the new host even though I too like his standup. He was just too much. What is it lately with over the top hosts? First Johnathon on Cake Wars and now this guy. I think they tend to overshadow the contestants and the action. To me, a good host needs to stay more in the background and let the contestants shine. I'm not watching a show for the host, but for the competition.
  10. I'm with you ElleryAnne, I look forward to this show way too much! I enjoyed this episode and, so far, no one is really unlikable. It is early though! I loved the look on the faces of the winning gaming witch and warlock. I think I've seen that look a few times on my nephew when he is really into a game! Totally consumed and oblivious!
  11. I didn't mind Jonathon at first, but he has increasingly become more frenzied and wacky. His antics have become such a big turn off for me that I hardly watch Cake Wars any more. I am really hoping he cools it down somewhat because I love Halloween Wars and look forward to it every year. I guess I could at least mute it or fast forward when he is on.
  12. I disliked the last Buffy episode so much that I stopped rewatching the show completely. All the wasted money I spent on DVD sets!
  13. I was really looking forward to this show and then I saw Kate was one of the contestants. I think I can honestly say that she is my least favorite reality show contestant EVER! Seriously, everything about her annoys me, from her horrible voice to her obnoxious mannerisms. Honestly, I don't care if it's all a schtick, I just can't watch her. Last night, I only semi watched but with the sound muted. Unfortunately, she won so I get to look forward to her in the final. I will pray she loses in the first round!
  14. The opposite of that, is every group has an incredibly dumb person in it. Not just a bit niave, but probably should be institutionalized niave. Somehow, though, everyone gets along.
  15. Years ago, Judd Hirsh slammed NBC for canceling Taxi after the network saved it from cancellation at ABC. The show was on for many years and it was time to go. I truly believe he thought the network should just keep it on, no matter what the ratings were, just on his say so. Anyway, he came off as a whiney crybaby and I have never liked him as much since.
  16. OK, I guess I am going to be just a bit critical here, but was anyone else slightly put off by Nadya's speech at the end? The way she said that she wouldn't let herself be put down anymore. I truly thought lovely speech but, at the same time, wondered who had kicked her down so much. It was just a bit scary. However, I don't think she will ever be the same and good for her! I am glad she won, but like many others, liked all of them and thought it was a great final!
  17. Not only do I not watch Game of Thrones, but I never had any great interest, esp. after I tried to read the novel and couldn't get through it. My huge UO is that I don't think 2016 is any worse than other years when it comes to celebrity deaths. Not being unsympathetic, but the reality is most of us can't remember who died last year. We might look at the list of who died in 2014, for ex., and think that was a really bad year. As actors, start getting older, there will be more deaths. It's just going to happen.
  18. Going way back, Odo and Major Kira on Deep Space Nine. I never felt the chemistry. More recently, Longmire and Vic on Longmire. I didn't even buy them as friends much less a romantic attraction. It led me to give up on the show.
  19. I once heard vocal fry described as "world weary and disinterested". That's how I would describe the winner. Just joyless. I was very disappointed.
  20. My Big Bang UO is that I never cared for Howard's mother and don't think I ever laughed once at her character. I am sorry the actress who played her died but I don't miss the character at all.
  21. The winning cake also didn't show any Beauty and the Beast figures, unless I missed them. Other than that I didn't really mind the winning cake. On another note, could someone tell the host that he already got the gig. Lately, he seems to be trying way too hard to be funny. I liked him before, but he has been a bit much recently.
  22. I'm getting a headache with the smile thing. I listened to the pronunciations, both American and British, and I think they sound the same. I will say that is how I pronounce the word so I feel better now.
  23. You are not alone at the smi-uhl table. I say smile the same way. I actually can't figure out another way.
  24. Sonny and Jason were the reasons I quit watching, too. My unpopular opinion on General Hospital is that I always felt more for AJ than Jason and thought hr was the wronged party.
