The showrunner teased the following things as upcoming storylines in season 4 in a new interview:

  • The grays don't just let the stolen baby be taken away from them, they will want to get it back
  • D'arcy will continue being a loose cannon
  • Kate will continue to be regularly abducted and we are going to learn more about why that happens and what the Greys are trying to get out of it
  • Joseph will probably still be included
  • At some point, Heather will be back
  • Big Black will trust Liv more, their dynamic is going to change
  • The Mantid alien will kill someone and cause mayhem in Patience

I really hope some of these people have conversations and at least someone new is pulled into the know soon. We got D'arcy this season, but now we have Ben & Kate and Mike & Liv off doing their own alien-related things. I guess maybe D'arcy bringing back the baby could spur some of that.

Oh, and I was somewhat surprised Ben & Kate didn't have a moment where they remembered Max's alien claims way back when. So the three of them have things they could talk about.

Of course the mantid will kill someone, possibly Max’s only friend. There certainly is a hansel and gretel vibe here. The question is why he hasn’t already. Why didn’t he eat them in the spaceship and go about his business? Why is he making an effort to learn Harry’s life and habits? It can’t just be that he has been deposited on a giant mantid pizza and will eat a swath across the world?

I still wonder if Joseph will turn out to be the general’s son. 

I assume the greys are covertly populating the world with hybrids, so that when they make their move pollution will have made the place almost breathable and the hybrids have flourished and basic humanity will be easily conquered, I guess. 

It continues to be strange, from the point of view of the larger galaxy, that earth is the center of so much attention.

What I am confused about is that the show was apparently doing pretty well and gaining popularity on netflix, but now people are talking of possible budget cuts and this probably being the final season just to wrap things up. But does that make sense from a business standpoint?

If the series shows clear potential for growth shouldn't the network and specially  Netflix invest in it and promote it more so that it reaches a bigger audience and becomes a big show that can eventually be a part of Netflix's catalouge of successful shows?

I am confused because it has been pointed out time and time again that longer series are exactly what they need, that is why Suits was such a big hit for them earlier this year, because it has a lot of episodes and people have a chance to actually get to know and spend time with the characters, none of this "8 episodes every 2 years" crap. Resident Alien was already doing well in that aspect, it released every year with somewhat longer seasons, so it could be a good longer running show and looks like it could become even bigger if they give it some support.

Well, nothing they do makes any sense, Netflix is starting to open large stores in malls celebrating their most popular TV Shows, while at the same time cancelling their most popular TV shows, Stranger Things, Witcher, The Umbrella Academy, Warrior Nun, etc. Bridgerton seems to be the only show left holding down the fort.

Well, IDK.

The Witcher sucks - everyone knows that. The creators hate the source material and the lead actor left because of how much they desecrated it. So in that case the cancellation was reasonable. Netflix was nice enough to give 2 last farewell seasons.

Stranger Things - it ends because the showrunners wanted 5 seasons, they themselves planned the story that way. But it is confirmed there will be spin-offs once the main story is concluded.

I don't seem them behaving as irrationally as it is trendy to say so online.

As far as actual TV merchandise that regular people might want to buy, posters, figurines, etc. I would still say that the Witcher, The Umbrella Academy, Warrior Nun, Shadow and Bone, and Stranger Things would generate more sells than Bridgerton, I guess they still have Squid Games. So they should have found a way to keep people interested in those shows (even if most of it was fluff or not quite up to their expectations) at least until they can make their cash back with merch.

I wouldn't be too sure about that - did you see the news a few weeks ago about the botched Bridgerton Ball in Detroit? That's a huge event around a tv show! And one of my friends just catered a Bridgerton themed birthday party for a 15 year old. I would bet Bridgerton merch would be a hot commodity!

I can't remember much about this show other than Harry adores Jerry Orbach and there is a VERY annoying young woman who owns a bar that I'd like the bad guy aliens to exterminate for me.  Also the mayor and his wife while you are at it please, aliens.

It seems this show hasn't been on for a decade.  Maybe I missed a half dozen seasons when my back was turned. 

I need a full hour's recap to remind me of stuff.  I mean I remember there was a trip to NYC for some reason about another of Harry's species and also a "wife" that showed up for awhile then left again for some reason.  Also a ticked off Colonel who as a little girl saw an alien or saucer or something and wants Harry gone.  

Finally at one point Harry flew off with the mayor's kid that can see him aboard his ship in some sort of cliffhanger maybe?

But again, someone (anyone) PLEASE kill off that downer, whiny bar owner along with the mayor and his wife.  

Also on my wish list, more time for the cool woman deputy who always wanted to meet an alien.  She is the smartest of the humans and the second most interesting character in the show next to Harry.

PS:  Was there an extra season somewhere on some streaming service or pay channel neither of which I get or would dream of getting?  If so, what happened during that season?  Again, Last I know about things was Harry and the kid were in his spaceship.

That's what happened at the end of the latest season. And then they came back but it wasn't actually Harry it was someone else (I don't exactly remember who) that took the form of Harry. I believe Harry is still on the ship but I'm not entirely sure about that.

The last season aired from February-April last year. There was actually a longer break between season 2 and 3. Season 2 ended in September of 2022 and season 3 didn't start until February 2024.
