More Futurama!

Yeah, they're doing a pandemic episode, and an episode about Zapp getting canceled. And the Worms are coming back!

The Crypto episode seems to also be the Wild West episode, that one could be good.

The Alexa device looks like a MOM invention.

You'd think EVERY robot would secretly be an Alexa, recording everyone's private thoughts at all times.

Bender would definitely be making money selling the Planet Express crew's thoughts and search histories.

I'm glad Fry and Leela are together still.

Are they going to get married again? I wouldn’t hate having another wedding with their friends and family being there and not frozen in time.

Ten years later, the end of "Meanwhile" still gets me.

I guess I was worried about the quality after another resurrection.  I shouldn't have been.  I think they've got this.

They’re back, baby!

Whenever this show comes back, I’m always fifteen again, watching it while sitting on my best friend’s living room carpet.

And I love the now very elderly Slum worm and the fact that it really is 3023 and absolutely nothing has happened.

I went back and watched Meanwhile after I watched the new episode, and in hindsight, I thought, no way that was the finale! It was like they knew what was happening next!

I don't rewatch; the theme music always bring joy. It's been so long.

I don't know if anyone paused on the list of tv shows; Clampmaid's Tale. Blob's Burgers. So many puns.

I wonder why Calculon died.

I guess they wanted to do greatest hits to get everyone back into the show. The double time was cracking me up though. They certainly crammed all the characters.

IIRC, he died drinking poison in that Romeo and Juliet competition with the other actor. The crew brought him back to star on his old show and then he died again when he got crushed by falling debris.

Even though the first episode was super meta, I still enjoyed it. I like how they've settled into the Fry/Leela relationship: she knows he's an idiot and does dumb things but loves and supports him anyway.

Wow, Amy was right: she would really would feel ready by the time the babies came back. Amazing to see the growth in her.

OFC Zoidberg was one of the predators that ate some of the babies. He’ll eat anything. I knew the one that looks like Leela would be one of the survivors, so glad to see some well-thought-out continuity on that part.

So as long as they’re going back to old plot lines, are we going to see Marianne again? Zoidberg deserves more than one break.

"And now, the Winnowing!"

"What does that mean?"

"It means don't start naming them yet."

I'm disappointed if they killed off the whale-bear biologist though.

Futurama has always done a nice job with the idea that "some people are just jerks".  They're typically very entertaining characters.

I feel like this could have taken place on the moon. Otherwise, they certainly hit the nail on the head about the energy use mining bitcoin, and taking the mining to do an old west plot was a lot of fun. Even limboing factored in.

I liked the end when Fry asked Leela if he could escort her to the brothel, and she was totally into it. I was worried that the show would make Leela kind of long suffering of Fry, and, she knows he's an idiot, but they look like a good relationship.

This. Let’s not Simpsons up a perfectly good couple.

Winner of the Palme D'oorknob! They still have the coffeeshop near Planet Express from the worms episode. Oh foreshadowing!

I got the answer of 2001 when Leela said 1 x 4 x 9.

Didn't they use pills to shrink last time?

Lol a parody of Dune only with a silent “G.”

Doon. Guh. Kwiznos Cadillac! I had to pause because I was roaring with laughter.

Fry is the best bf because he'll let Leela blow her nose on his shirt.

I was worried they were going to let Nibbler just be a housepet.

I think the fact that we were entertaining that as a possibility shows how strong this show can be.  I was actually thinking we weren't headed for a reset button.

The bitcoin one wasn't my favorite but I love how Fry is so excited that he can be a galoot for a while.

Seven horse walkers and a galoot.

I liked the Nibbler episode better even though I've never seen Dun G so I probably missed a lot of the references. I always love the Nibbler eps though.

Him so cute!

I feel like Rick and Morty at its best really explores every possible ramification of their insane ideas, and that's something where maybe Futurama has not been quite as strong. Like, here the idea that parasites have their own parasites is something, but then the resolution was just to stomp the parasite-parasites. Why weren't the second order parasites also themselves subverted by third order parasites, and so on?

Separately, the Dune sandworm lifecycle was sort of referenced with the cycle of life in the litterbox, but it didn't fully land because they rushed over it so quickly. I guess Dune is a lot to cover in a single 24 minute episode.

For some reason, I thought Fry and Leela were already living together. Bender throwing a fit totally tracks.

Mom's palm scan is a slap!

Everyone Loves Hypnotoad was on Momazon Primo.

Invesa saying "what the hell is money?!" was a funny line reading.

That was a weird resolution.

A+ episode for Tress McNeille.  Mom, Invasa, Linda, and Craterface all in one episode.

I don't think I've laughed at this season as hard as I did when the Crushinator broke the door down followed by the Moon Mayor(?) saying "I have no idea how she got in here."

Although Morbo's "And some very confused werewolves" was a close second.

Even if it's a little early for an X-Mas episode, time-traveling episodes are always fun!

Okay, we REALLY need Marianne to come back, because having Zoidberg alone again after that hard-earned win just sucks. But having him and Bender team up together was just priceless.

Nibbler's worms had their own stocking. I was hoping for a shot at Fry's grandfather. I can't believe Bender didn't think to steal the time machine immediately.

2801 had olde timey cars but still floating. They showed Disenchantment during the professor's trip via the scenic route too. Are they implying that they're Futurama's future?

Didn't Santa always say Dr. Zoidberg was a good boy? He didn't act like he recognized him.

I don't get the running gag about the turducken, but it was funny.

I liked the nice, subtle touch of Leela being happy to see Fry visiting her family and charming the grandmother.

I liked the closed loop twist on Santa's origins.

I had seen speculation that in the pilot episode where we see civilization building up and breaking down over and over in the window during the thousand years Fry is asleep, is one that looks Medieval and that is actually the time period for Disenchantment.

In the first season of Disenchantment, there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of Fry, Bender, and the Professor in the time machine during "The Late Philip J Fry."

So another pandemic hits Earth, and this time it’s all Leela’s fault. I’m surprised more people weren’t more pissed at her like they were with Fry in the “Cold Warriors” episode. I mean, she knew there was something spreading in the sewers and she didn’t think to take precautions when visiting her parents?! Girl, you’re supposed to the smart one!

So many familiar faces came back! Wernstrom, Umbrielle and her dad, Leela’s ex Chazz, Barbados Slim, Lrr and his family—and OF COURSE they were the ones spreading conspiracy theories so they can take over the planet.

And a Bill Nye cameo is always good.
