I mostly just watch the six o'clock hour (I'm on the west coast) but lately it looks like Mika just sits there demurely sipping her coffee and smiling/looking adoringly at Joe. Is that all she does? Has she been drugged? I'm getting a Stepford Wives vibe from her.

Are you new to the show?
Mrs. Scarborough sometimes plays the Tradwife role.  She doesn't have a ton of cogent opinions so it suits her to sit quietly and admire Joe's loud mouth.

I think I started watching around the time they got married, I have never been a regular watcher, I can either get up at 3 am or DVR and mostly I don't do either.  I usually just see the last hour. She just seemed a bit more talkative in the past.  I know she most definitely defers to Joe.

Hey, guys. Coming at you as a blast from the past! I stopped watching a year ago and occasionally check the board to find that nothing has changed on the show that would make me tune in again. But today I must report that Joe polluted the airwaves by migrating over to CNBC!! They wasted a full segment, treating him as some kind of sage of all things political. I had to mute it...after initially re-clicking the remote to see if I was on the wrong channel...just looking at his face made me cringe. I guess NBC has sent him on some kind of "since Morning Joe is failing, let's see if we can pawn him off on a sister network" tour. Uh, no. CNBC has long been my refuge from all other morning show antics. He better not become a thing there.

Welcome back! We missed you. I usually watch CNBC in the morning & DVR Morning Joe to watch later if my blood pressure is too low.

I remember when CNBC's Erin Burnett & the late Mark Haines had a regular segment on Morning Joe at 8:30 am. They would give economic updates to Mika & Joe.

Hey Welcome back!  As you have probably figured out from all the news about Joe and MSNBC, Morning Joe has gone from bad to worse. Personally I can only take a little of it when JoMika are off, so when they do show up to their jobs, I turn it off. 

I don't get why everyone is so scared of Joe that they allow him to blather on with his nonsense. Even if he makes a somewhat valid point, it's negated by his ego and utter disrespect for everyone.

My brother sent me a clipping from his local small town paper; he lives in West Virginia. There was a printing of Joe Manchin's final address/speech to Congress. And. There was a huge cartoon (in black and white) of The Twins.  The faces and expressions were exaggerated but the shocker?  The caption underneath - it was also large - read "Mr. and Mrs. Neville Chamberlain" - this, in a small West Virginia town. Although in recent years this area has been invaded by commuters from the DC area, mainly Maryland and Virginia, looking for less expensive housing. I wish I knew how to bring/insert the picture to this board - beyond my skills and age.

The one Mika clip I can't get enough of is when there was a fire at a furry convention, and everyone huddled around a woman with an infant to keep them warm in the bitter cold.  Then, Mika asked what a furry is, and when they whispered it to her, she ran off of the set.

I will never forget that; Joe could not keep a straight face.  I have to admit that it was pretty bizarre; those were truly good times.

After seeing Meeka get some credit/publicity on her family name after Jimmy Carter's death, I realize I may have been too harsh/uncomplimentary regarding her ability to push forward in the news/information/media field. 

She initially got her professional start mostly on her family name. No shame in that; but it apparently was not sustainable. Then, according to legend, Joe spotted her doing a late-night news minute and the rest is history. 

With his name blended with her family name, she has parlayed that into the entire KYV empire. She gets seemingly unlimited time on-air to promote this vanity project. Women compete to see who will make the cut each year. Free trips to Dubai! Rubbing elbows with the country's best, most rich women in the world (no matter how some achieved it).  Kudos.

I guess I've always believed she would have never gotten where she is without Joe's power at MSNBC.  And her name.  

IMO Know Your Value would be nothing without MSNBC. And being sponsored by Forbes' Magazine, which isn't exactly progressive.   It's almost laughable.  She holds conferences in a country with a horrendous human rights record. (Google UAE Human Rights). 

And Mika does it to embellish her own credibility and feed her ego. Who does she help? She shows off with a bunch of wealthy women, some of whom made it on their own of course. But when does she ever do anything to lift women up?

Other than saying "go ask for what you deserve".  Well big fucking duh, Mika.  And you got what you "deserve" because of Joe. He went to bat for you, or so the story goes. 

It's interesting that on Monday, Nicole Wallace had a phone interview with Brian Williams. He worked as an intern in Jimmy Carter's WH.  Maybe Mika wasn't available.  Or maybe because Mika and Joe have, pardon the expression, shit the bed so badly at MSNBC, they're lucky they both still have jobs. Time will tell.

The cynicism of hosting it there is mind boggling.  Perhaps in 2025 she hosts it in Asheville, NC to, you know, help those who need help?
I guess in Asheville there are no butlers to massage her in her private marble spa, nor Hermes gift bags, nor handsome princes hanging at the hotel bar.

It's reruns of segments that aired during the week. I think it ends around 8 am. I haven't watched but I did turn on MSNBC early one Saturday and saw segments discussing issues from earlier in the week.

Since the election I haven't watched MSNBC once, and my YouTube TV is no longer even making it a top option for a channel to select.  I had it on probably 10 hours a day for maybe a decade.  Now it's weather and cooking! (and the weather channel is no easy watch these days, ugh)

Is Joe asserting that the fires cannot generally be curtailed, or that a human or political party must be blamed and made to suffer as a consequence?  
And I thought the libs could control the weather in order to punish Florida?
This is a great opportunity for Joe to be a sympathetic do-gooder and lead with ideas and charity and empathy, and at the same time mock and eviscerate all the right wing who think liberalism=uncontrollable fires.

Joe could make this his brand and distance himself from his own worst instincts and the goings-on of the past two months.
Bring on insurance adjusters, financial CEOs, architects, visionary climate-focused start ups, water engineers, botanists, the mayors of those cities, etc... Mika could get out there and teach business ladies to know their value. (seriously though, she could help structure micro-funding for woman-led businesses to help them get back on their own two feet and more)

Not overtly. Joe is trying to play both sides of the street.  He "kind of" admitted that climate change and over development is an issue, but before that statement he said something along the lines of "you can't "just" blame Newsom or Bass". 

Why even say that? Does Gavin Newsom control the Santa Ana winds? Does Karen Bass control rain fall in LA County? 

I don't think Joe would say California should be punished or told there are strings attached to the federal aid to rebuild, or the aid to fight the fire.  He's an asshole but he's not that stupid.  Or maybe he is. 

What people seem to forget is all these Republicans, Joe included, come from states that contribute much less to the federal budget than California. So they can bitch about woke, DEI, smelt, Hollywood liberals, whatever they want. 

Analysis from the Rockefeller Institute of Government shows that, in 2022, California contributed $83 billion more in taxes than it received from the federal government.

If I was Newsom, I'd send a letter to President Biden, and/or Donald Trump next week,  asking for that $83 billion. Like right now.

With so many cruel, terrible things going on with our elected officials...it has become  infuriating and an insult to normal people. Throw in one of the worst natural disasters in our lifetimes... I will focus on the petty. Joe and Meeka.

It seems the network thinks The Twins actually drive ratings (up). Let's give them a four-hour daily show! Let's have them appear on weekends! We don't need to encourage  new, fresh talent. If they (Joe) embarrass us...it makes news! No such thing as bad publicity. They have become lazy? No problem...they can come in and read articles from newspapers. Again....guests on their own show.

Heh.  So Joe wants almost no government at all, but at the same time wants work camps that rake the desert and maintain every plant, he wants government control of the Santa Ana winds, and control of rain.  That he tables the idea that "if only fire hydrants worked, damned libs," means his discourse is disingenuous and he's simply looking to play in that day's news cycle... not looking for truth or solutions or an honest discussion.  He's an empty fire hydrant.  There talking about how the fire is a net loss for the libs because optics.
