tv echo December 4 Share December 4 2024 in Review: The 10 Worst TV Shows of the Year By Nick Caruso, Rebecca Iannucci, Matt Webb Mitovich, Dave Nemetz, Andy Swift December 3, 2024 https://tvline.com/lists/worst-tv-shows-2024/the-goat/ Quote So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) ... It gives us no pleasure to put Fox’s long-running competition series on this list, after years of producing dazzling routines and successful alumni. But SYTYCD was merely a ghost of its former self during Season 18, eliminating every aspect of the series — from live performance shows to America’s votes — that once made it must-see TV. Plus, this year’s ridiculously truncated format meant we had barely gotten invested in the contestants before one of them was crowned the winner. It all felt like a big kick-ball-change in the face of SYTYCD‘s competitors, judges and viewers. 1 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/7890-sytycd-in-the-media/page/15/#findComment-8524322
tv echo December 14 Share December 14 (edited) Paula Abdul and Nigel Lythgoe Settle Sexual Assault Lawsuit 1 Year After She Sued Him: A 'Hard-Fought Personal Battle' (Exclusive) By Liza Esquibias December 13, 2024 https://people.com/paula-abdul-and-nigel-lythgoe-settle-sexual-assault-lawsuit-exclusive-8761195 Quote According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the pair settled the case, in which Abdul accused the producer of sexual assault, in an "unconditional" manner on Monday, Dec. 9. * * * Abdul, 62, spoke out in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on Friday, Dec. 13, saying she was glad to finally move forward and hopes her story will inspire other women going through similar challenges. "I am grateful that this chapter has successfully come to a close and is now something I can now put behind me," she said. "This has been a long and hard-fought personal battle. I hope my experience can serve to inspire other women, facing similar struggles, to overcome their own challenges with dignity and respect, so that they too can turn the page and begin a new chapter of their lives." In a separate statement to PEOPLE, Lythgoe said: "We live in a troubling time where a person is now automatically assumed to be guilty until proven innocent, a process that can take years. That is why, like Paula, I am glad to be able to put this behind me. I know the truth and that gives me great comfort." The settlement comes one year after Abdul sued Lythgoe, who she worked with on American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, claiming he sexually assaulted her on two occasions — once during the early seasons of Idol and once during her tenure on SYTYCD. She also accused him of sexually assaulting her assistant. Edited December 14 by tv echo Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/7890-sytycd-in-the-media/page/15/#findComment-8532602
