Whimsy August 16, 2018 Share August 16, 2018 A mystery email leads Nev and Laura to help Derek track down his online love Annabelle. After digging, they uncover a sexy Snapchat scandal, betrayal, and a conclusion that hits closer to home than Derek could have ever dreamed. Link to comment
Kazzy25 August 16, 2018 Share August 16, 2018 From the synopsis above this sounds like a great episode. Unfortunately I won’t be watching since we are dealing with Mrs. Nev on this one. Can’t stand her so I’ll have to skip it! 6 Link to comment
AfterwardsTV August 16, 2018 Share August 16, 2018 3 things. Max's name is not spoken and they don't even give an excuse of what place he is at this time. The editing department edits the email to say "Dear Nev and Laura". Finally, Laura is basically slipping into the role like a glove. As in, she's saying all the lines like she's been at it forever. They make stupid pizza puns about the case, there's a scene of Nev filming them in bed together right as Laura's waking up (even though Laura isn't camera ready) which is followed by them walking out together holding hands. The episode ends with them asking for an invitation to the wedding (from a pair whose only romantic experience is drunkenly making out in a bathroom). That Nev is pretending at all like the co-host is up in the air is downright hilarious. From her demeanor I'm inclined to defend Laura and say it's more about his control freak tendencies and he's slowly been goading her in until she couldn't say no. He doesn't understand what keeping a private personal life means. I don't know if we have September episodes, if we do, the final 100 special on the 29th is likely just giving them time to rush two more out to get to the 20 ep quota. Next week isn't being promoted as the end of Max or as a season finale. Plus it'd be odd for them to not have Untold Stories specials. 8 Link to comment

Why did she question the catfish's expectation of a confrontation? The show is all about arranging a confrontation between someone and their catfish. Can't say I was watching the screen much, but if the comment in the "having a baby" thread is correct that Laura is pregnant again and showing in this episode, the bed scene can probably be considered in poor taste. I got a chuckle out of Nev's suggestion that they stop standing in the parking lot and go to...a park. The pizza places they plugged wouldn't let them film? 3 Link to comment

You basically just said everything I was thinking. The lack of mention of Max weirded me out. Almost as if he never existed. The waking up/bed scene made me feel really uncomfortable for some reason. It seemed super awkward - I could have definitely lived without that and seeing them discuss things after they were up and going like usual. I almost get the feeling that Laura is just placating Nev. He has probably been nudging her for months (or longer) to do the show and she's hoping he'll shut up about it. Sadly, she's probably going to end up stuck as the co-host. 5 Link to comment
GaT August 17, 2018 Share August 17, 2018 (edited) Friggin’ Laura, DO NOT WANT. So, is Max gone already? Is that why they flew to Washington instead of having the people fly to them in California, because they pay Laura less & have money now? I hate the way she keeps pushing herself into things, every time Nev says “this is Nev” to someone she yells out “and Laura!” What is the snapchat group that everybody is so sketchy about? Is it about drugs? Is it some kind of phone sex? EDITED: I just read that Laura is pregnant again. This must put a real cramp in the "make Laura a co-host" plan. Christina87 August 18, 2018 Share August 18, 2018 Does anyone else think that Laura looks like she would smell? She looks like one of those people who would have sex, go for a swim, run a couple miles, have sex again, put on some yeast infection cream, and then throw on clothes and throw her hair up for the show. Idk why...maybe it's because I know how skanky she is, but she just looks unwashed and like she would not smell good. Maybe her super chill vibe has something to do with it too, like I subconsciously see her being blasé about grooming. 1 Link to comment
truebluesmoky August 19, 2018 Share August 19, 2018 I’m in the minority in that I like Laura in general. I follow her Instagram and have enjoyed those ATTN videos she made with Nev in the past. Cleo is adorable, and she seems like a good and fun mom. But I DON’T like her on this show. She’s just not a good fit. It’s not because she’s a woman, because I’ve enjoyed many of the female guest hosts back when Max was directing a movie a couple seasons ago. She just doesn’t have the right personality or presence for it. 5 Link to comment

I do not, however, feel like she's a very good fit for the show. I think they need someone who is pretty outgoing, sarcastic, and/or a realist to offset Nev's optimism. She seems to be far too chill for the position. 3 Link to comment

I thought this was a weak episode. No big surprises, mild lies. The only curious aspects for me were what was going on with the Snapchat scandal that no one would talk about, and how quickly they smoothed over that he made a move on her (his little sister-like friend) while he was drunk and horny and how she fell in love with him because of it, but hey, it seems like a relationship could develop from this and lo and behold, it did. I will really miss Max. He makes the show for me. 2 Link to comment

I definitely think she and Nev are a good match, but she just brings nothing to the show. If they want another co-host, I suggest iO, who did a nice job filling in for Max in a few (one?) episodes in the past. 1 Link to comment

Gothish520 August 26, 2018 Share August 26, 2018 Count me among those who is cool with Laura overall. I like her - she's seems chill and like she'd be fun to hang out with. She and Nev have a nice, easy vibe together. But I do agree that as a permanent co-host, the show would benefit from someone with more snark and/or a more outgoing, frisky personality. As for the episode, Bella's a cutie and both of them seemed sweet and kind of awkward - I hope it works out for those crazy kids. P.s., Laura looks like she would smell like patchouli with maybe a hint of b.o. - I think she's very pretty and her hair looked great in this ep. 2 Link to comment

She seems surprisingly naive or a bit slow on the uptake. You'd think she'd have watched all the episodes since her husband is in them and have a better idea how these cases tend to go. 1 Link to comment

She looked naked under the sheet. Honestly they should just can Catfish and become a YouTuber couple, because they're all about filming schmoopy video clips to remind everyone how in love they are. Laura seems nice, but they're so wrapped up in each other that the participants are incidental. At least Max gave a shit and laid it out when people got mouthy. We're watching Catfish, not Nev & Laura's Epic Love Adventures. On 8/17/2018 at 1:53 AM, GaT said: What is the snapchat group that everybody is so sketchy about? Is it about drugs? Basically, dudes pay to jerk off to a hot stranger's nudes via Snapchat. I've only ever seen them as personal accounts run by individual women, but "Stoner Babes" (HARD cringe) suggests that premium accounts can also be group chats with multiple women's content organized by fetish/category. (which...stoner girls is a community/fetish? who knew.) The girls they were talking to were probably understandably cagey about admitting doing sex work on camera, especially since they're likely using Snapchat to avoid public stigma and scrutiny. Then Nev calls and brays "SO TELL ME ABOUT THAT PREMIUM SNAPCHAT ACCOUNT! You know, where you work?" Link to comment
