Lulu and Dante will likely be there, maybe with the kids. (That will depend on the budget and if ER hasn't given birth.) I like Julian being the WTF guest—he'll say he's there for Leo's sake.

Oh yea, Julian will definitely be there for no reason. I imagine Lulu and Dante will show up but then have to leave for some reason. The weddings lately are always so bad with who attends/doesn't attend.

No, TJ is still Shawn's son.  But the aunt still thinks TJ is Curtis' brother's son.

I literally forgot Shawn existed. All of today I kept trying to figure out who the woman with Curtis even was in relation to Curtis. At first I thought she was Curtis' mom and therefore Jordan's ex's mom, but then I couldn't remember if Curtis and Jordan's ex were brothers or not. And then I realized I don't really care and I started fast forwarding those scenes.

Apparently, NV also said that Lucas and Brad will have no storyline of their own, but will "pop in here and there".  Ugh.

He then apparently went on to whine that there's 24 contract players and a lot of recurring characters and that the audience should view those recurring players (i.e. the gays and most of the vets) as "guest stars".  But meanwhile, there's room for a few AMC/OLTL characters to join and stay?  Whatever, dude.

If they actually bring something new to the table, I'm not too mad. If a current actor is recurring and doesn't want to go on contract (which I believe is where Ryan Carnes is), that's not the show's fault. But there's no point bringing on, say, another GH lab manager when we already have Brad. We don't need more nurses when there's Bobbie, Pip, and even Amy 2.0 (though her function seems less nurse and more thorn in my side). Sonny certainly doesn't need another bedwarmer.

But something like Nora as the D.A.? I'm in. That's a role that traditionally rotates through different actors, and it's currently vacant.

I just can't imagine that they actually offered him a contract, the show has shown no interest in telling a real story with Lucas, particularly since Ron left.  And if they were invested in doing more with the character (which, again, I don't think they are), as much as I like Carnes, I'd recast because Lucas is potentially too interesting a character to let fall by the wayside like this.

Gee, a big story for Sam, Jason, Sonny and Carly?

It also sounds as if Sam's story isn't really about her. That's par for the course.

That's a problem with a lot of the characters, whether the actors are recurring or on contract. There hasn't been a coherent idea of what GH should be since Guza, I think. I hated the all-mob-all-the-time theme, but at least you knew what the show was about. It's an utter mess today.

This has been my biggest problem with the show. It has no identity (and hasn't since FV/RC's second year) and FV is going to add to the mess by adding AMC/OLTL charactersThe current writers, who have now had this job for several years, couldn't be bothered to learn the histories/personalities of the GH characters and I'm supposed to be thrilled that this bloated directionless fuckin cast is going to be swollen by the addition of a bunch of OLTL/AMC characters who will actually be given the benefit of an EP and writers who know them and give a shit about their history/character integrity?

Yeah, no.

The ratings aren't in the toilet because PP took their OLTL toys. The ratings are shit because the EP and writers are doing a shitty job of writing and producing General Hospital.

So maybe JdP will be playing Max Holden and not someone  else.

Gee, a big story for Sam, Jason, Sonny and Carly? How refreshing. We don't see nearly enough of them.

We actually don't see Jason and Sam much to be fair . . . they've just been exposition fairies.

That said . . . I'd be fine with them taking a vacation. The whole cast looks bored*, but they both are up there.

*With NLG, MSt, ER, LW, HE, RPW, CL being notable exceptions. And even then, even though they don't look bored, a lot of the acting choices are questionable.

And NV continued that thought by saying that those "guest" pop-ins were needed to weave full stories rather than just concentrating on the same six to ten people.  After all, you know that show is on five days a week and needs those pop-up characters to keep the show going - at least that what Varni told us in that podcast.

So wait, is TJ actually Curtis' son? LMAO I like sorta vaguely remember this but also I don't recall the story at all.

ETA: The only guests at the Olivia/Ned wedding will probably be Dillon and Kiki. Oh wait, Sonny and Carly will surely attend.

If you can't be with your dad, GH will just give you the dad you're with.  Which for TJ is Curtis.  So..... what's next?  Jordan isn't his mom?

Sidebar:  TeRi needs to leave.  Run.

I can never forget Shawn-  Best shooter ever.  God, they really messed up Curtis.  They get a good actor with charisma and stick who should be his love interest with a mop, while he gets stuck on Black People Day on GH.  Seriously.  It's not hard to write for black people.  Just write a damned story like you would for any other character on in a soap.  Damn.

The problem is that Jelly thinks they're writing for gay people.  Write for people.  Lucas and Brad are interesting characters.  Recast Lucas with one of the billion actors leaving tv shows and soaps.  Ugh.

It might be a chicken-and-egg type thing here - the writers don't want to write a real story for the character because the actor isn't on contract, and the actor doesn't want to go on contract because his character doesn't have a real story.

Given the "stories" the poo-flinging monkeys who write this show have given to other characters, I'd have to say the black characters are being treated very equally in this regard.  They can't write a proper story for ANYONE.

True.  But I hate the fact that lately they seem to pair black people together and group them on certain days.  Ex:  Julian/Jordan had awesome chemistry, yet we've been suffering through Julexis.  Anna/Andre weren't bad, but we had to get Jordan/Andre.  Curtis/Hayden..... and where have TJ/Molly been?  What's FV's deal?

  • Love 3

André's been a judgmental douche with both Anna and Jordan, so he needs some work before I want to see him in a relationship again.

Given how badly the show writes every character, it's kind of nice that POC aren't being singled out. That's not to say the show doesn't need more POC. It does, obviously. We're never going to get anything interesting or challenging out if, though. Everyone has been written to be so bland. And with how cringingly bad TJ's false-arrest story was, maybe it's for the better. The show is offensive enough about things that have nothing to do with race.

  • Love 2

Sam is going to be acting in a way we haven't seen her act in awhile.

Awake?

I didn't care when TJ was a more regular presence. Shawn's in jail, offscreen. TJ shows up once every six months. The aunt is brand-new. Zzzzzzzz.

They might be banking on some of the remaining Thomas/Jordan shippers being really into it. Oh, wait. Thomas never appeared onscreen on General Hospital or any other ABC soap. Never mind.

  • Love 6

You know what I wish to see with new mom Sam? Especially since she missed out on newborn Danny and this baby's birth also being traumatic, her being a super vigilant new mom. First words to people entering her home being "please wash your hands. Half bath is right over here. Soap, towels and hand sanitizer are all there." Her phone out to constantly take pictures. If only she had, you know, female friends who are also parents. Not named Carly. Carly didn't raise her kids. They had nannies.

This is a massive problem with this shit show. The women don't really have friends. Jordan? She was friendly with Valerie, but now she is sleeping with Valerie's last boyfriend. Laura has nobody. Liz's last decent friends were Robin, Patrick and Nik. If course, Nik was still trying to hook up with her for a good part of time. Carly sure as hell can't stand female friends. But that is pretty much on par for the character. Too much competition. Molly has only her mom, sisters and TJ. Kristina is in the same boat, only with Amy 2.0 subbing for TJ. And even that is recent. Alexis has her daughters and Diane. Ava has her brother. Sort of. Lauren has mentioned friends of hers in the past. But nobody on screen.

So what we have left is Maxie and Lulu. Which has been pretty lax lately. Lulu doesn't mention talking to Maxie much. Nor did she seem to know that Maxie was planning on staying in Portland. Shit that most bff tells the other.

We don't get coffee meets, play dates, wine dates, or even a girls' night out. Crap that should be seen and at least mentioned every once in awhile.

Who are they trying to find? The person who carries out Helena's dastardly deeds from beyond the grave? The unbelievable lack of energy BM and KeMo put into their scenes makes me zone out. Say what you want about BA, he's not a low-energy performer.

Yeah. They're looking for the guy who sent the magic box to Jake.
