I don't know, this is the movie they want to use to launch Justice League....you don't throw that into March...granted it won't have any competition but there's a stigma there.

International markets might be involved here. Sony has been experimenting with earlier dates -- the latest Spider-Man opened mid-April all over Europe and South America, 2-3 weeks prior to the US opening. Disney has opened all Iron Mans and The Avengers 1 to 2 weeks earlier in foreign markets as well [and will do the same with Age of Ultron]. Maybe late March is the new mid-April? :)

ETA: forget all that, March 25, 2016 = Good Friday. They're banking on Easter.

I was trying to figure out why they were talking about Inhumanity in the future tense when they already did the story. When I read the comments, I realized the article is rather old.

Here's the wiki on Inhumanity, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inhumanity_(comics)

I really don't know much about it, I only read a few titles and Uncanny 15 was the only one with a tie in.

It actually makes sense, IIRC Mutants are descendents of Eternals, which were created by the First Celestial.

Inhumans were created by the Kree and are exposed to Terrigen Mist, so you could follow that, create a new kind of mutant using Inhumans instead of Eternals.

Saw this tonight on Tumblr and it warmed my heart, it truly did.  It's a beautiful write up of how a young fan of GotG connected with Drax.  I hope Marvel gets wind of this, too.  This may be a lovely accidental blessing.

Still trying to grasp all the Marvel news.  It's a lot to absorb.   I think GotG opened up many possibilities that may have been set aside, just itching to be done if audiences might be interested in creatures beyond humans in their Marvel movie universe.

Keep in mind that Bleeding Cool News is just guessing, they have no idea what rights Marvel has now.  Several character rights have reverted back to Marvel so it's possible that Marvel does have the character rights to Inhumans.

I read the story about them wanting to make an Inhumans movie 14 years ago. The mere idea of it being called Nhumans just makes me want to punch somebody, never mind not having any of the actual comic characters in it.

A fairly recent issue of Entertainment Weekly (Iron Man and Captain America on cover) contained an article with information about Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Some of that info can be read at the following link:

If you can't find this issue on sale, there's probably a copy at the local library (where I read it).

Reads like mostly dreaming to me, but at least it's dreaming in a positive direction for a BoP series. There's a demand for it! Come on, CW. (If you even still exist a few years from now, anyway.)

I've thought the same thing about an X-Men show, but it would probably star obscure/made-up mutants if it happened within the next fifteen years. Like Agents of Shield.

I think an Xavier's School featuring original characters would be interesting to watch, but they'd probably be afraid to try it because the fanboys would be whining about Wolverine, etc. Much like AoS. I have issues with AoS but the lack of the Avengers is not one of them.

I watched the first BoP show. It had so much potential but they wanted to focus more on Helena and her cop friend than the actual BoP. At least they had Dinah with an actual Canary cry.

Deadpool would be fun to watch, on Showtime or some place where they didn't have to hold back.

They can't make an X-Men tv show, even if they want, because of the convoluted rights issues between Fox and Marvel/Disney.

As for BoP, I'd only be interested if it was a movie franchise, and not a tv show. I'm afraid a tv show version would be subtitled, "Chicks Oliver's Banged", and that would be so, so insulting to the original source material.

I saw a screening of Gotham with 3 of it's stars. It was okay. I think they introduced way too many characters at once. We all know this is a before Batman story we don't need to meet almost all of his future villains in the first episode. They also changed the origin a bit by

having Selina witness the Wayne murders. She then spent the rest of the episode creeping on young Bruce Wayne, so that was a little weird.

I do like that catwoman is being played by a dancer, that should be a plus for the physical part of the role. I think she should do a dance-off with Caity Lotz.

I'll give my usual 5 episodes before I decide. Although the actors that were at the screening told us to stick with the show for episode 7 because that one is supposed to be amazing.

Selina's 14, so she's 2 years older than Bruce who I think is 12. Camren Bicondova was there and she's adorable and she seemed really shy. The guy who's playing the Riddler is super stoked for this show, he's the one that kept saying we had to watch episode 7 which they just did the table read for. The pilot is not the best but it was enough for me to see if the next few get any better.

I missed John Barrowman's panel because he was supposed to have one yesterday but he missed his flight and rescheduled it at time I had something else planned.

Camren is a kickass dancer! I was initially annoyed by there being so many kid crews on that season of ABDC because it seemed gimmicky until they danced and I had to eat crow because they were pretty awesome.

I'll count it as a win if Lois feels Chloe like.  That seems to be the trend so far, that the newer incarnations of Lois are taking more influence from Chloe than from EDLois.  Which makes sense since EDLois was never about trying to be original or create a new take on the character.  She was instead a mishmash of the worst incarnations of that past glued together not with character development but a whole lot of cause we said so.

No, can't say I'm crazy about that outfit either. :(

I'm worried about the Captain America situation. It's not that I'm opposed to someone else becoming Captain America, especially if it's Sam instead of Bucky, but....in the comics didn't that happen because Steve died? I know I'm being silly but I don't want them to kill off Steve. :(

In the comics, Bucky became Captain American after Steve "died" (but was later revealed to be lost in time/space)

In the most recent comics, Sam becomes CA after Steve loses his Super Soldier Serum and ages 50+ years.

That Hawkeye outfit is fug, not to mention that looks a little too much like Loki's only in a different color.

The Cap news doesn't surprise me.  I get the distinct impression that Marvel would like to start expanding beyond the original Avengers.  I think the success of GOTG will only push them more in that direction.

Agreed. And whereas Loki is flamboyant and like to call attention to himself (unless he's doing evil deeds), Hawkeye would rather hide in the shadows.

I saw this over in the Movies forum and thought it was interesting:

Why DC's serious 'Superman v. Batman' may give Marvel the big-screen edge
http://www.hitfix.com/motion-captured/why-dcs-serious-superman-may-give-marvel-the-big-screen-edge

I seriously hope WB is kidding because the reason why Marvel movies work so well with audiences is that they are still fun to watch because of the humor and humanity the characters bring while they're trying to save the world.  Based on what I've seen in the recent DC movies, WB needs more lightheartedness, not less.  In fact, had Arrow not brought in Felicity to provide a little comedy in the last half of S1, I probably wouldn't still be watching.  There's only so much dark broodiness I can take.

Ugh, completely agree. I blame Nolan, personally, although maybe even he feels like it's gone too far.  The darkness/edginess was cool for Batman, it doesn't work for Superman and I can see it bringing down the Justice League. No interest in Batman vs Superman if all it is is more bloody disaster porn.

The Flash should just be renamed to Prison Break reunion show:

Ha!  I pretty much said the same thing about that over in The Flash thread.  Really, between this, Robert Knepper as The Clock King, and Peter Storemare showing up this season of Arrow, they seem to love the Prison Break guys almost as much as they love the Spartacus folks.  I'm now really hoping William Fichtner will show up as a baddie of some kind.

As for the WB's need to make their DC films humorless, well, they did just cast Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam for the Shazam film, so I hope maybe their changing their mind.  Because, if you cast The Rock in a superhero film, you don't cast him for his seriousness and "dramatic range", but his ability to crack wise and be amusing.

4 Signs DC Comics Has No Clue How to Make Superhero Movies

http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/4-signs-dc-comics-has-no-clue-how-to-make-superhero-movies/

They really are making a huge mistake by taking the movies so dark and not following Marvel by giving all of their characters a stand alone movie to set them up moving toward the Justice League.

Thanks for that link, @Orion.  I'm sooooo glad they brought up the Superman problem because it's something I've been saying for awhile now.  They managed to suck all the joy out of a character who was positive, heroic, funny, and charismatic and turned him into Batman.  There's a good reason why so many people hold the 1978 Christopher Reeve Superman (even with the dated special effects) as their favorite version.  He wasn't the sad bastard they've now turned him into.

ITA @NumberCruncher .  I never believed that Marvel could pull me in on Captain America. I just always thought he was over the top boy scoutie but they managed to pull off a realistic version and owned his costume and his beliefs in a non campy way. I hate what they are doing with Wonder Woman (although I am SO thankful she's not in a bathing suit costume) I grew up with Linda Carter's Wonder Woman and I loved it, while I'm happy for a female superhero of any kind, she is not what I pictured.
