bettername2come November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 Aw, Ketch is back? Well, he's less annoying here and he looks better with the beard. But he is not a character I needed to see on my screen ever again, unlike... Kevin! Kevin! Not my Kevin, but still a perfectly fine Kevin with a haircut I don't hate. "I'm sorry, aren't you Satan?" Can new Kevin meet new Bobby? I should get something out of this new world. I've grown bored with Lucifer, but I'm glad Rowena's potentially alive. Lady Calypso November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 Yeah, that was....not great. I found it downright boring at parts. I barely even remember Ketch, let alone care that he's been brought back to life. The only part that piqued my interest was the fact that Rowena could definitely be alive in a new body. Now it makes me question if the witch in this episode was Rowena. But yeah, I'm super glad Dean got to be right about him. AU Kevin! Hello! I cheered when I saw him appear. And he was pretty fun. Lucifer makes me yawn, but I really liked that Castiel had a one-up on him. I mean, Jack likes Cas more, so that has to hurt Lucifer's ego a little bit. Also, I like that Cas really was going to tell Dean the truth before he was caught and then captured by Asmodeus. Seriously, though. Not much was in this that I liked, besides Cas trying to be honest before, yet again, he gets whisked away from anything Winchester, and is now stuck with Southern Mumbly Man, and Lucifer With Barely Any Grace. Is it too hard for Cas to spend more than a couple of episodes with the Winchesters, instead of being stuck in boring plots that I don't like? 6 Link to comment

Jeddah November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I just want to say that Southerners do not sound like Asmodeus. Trust me, y’all. The actor is trying, bless his heart, but that accent just gets worse every time I hear it. Kevin! I still miss our Kevin, but I loved seeing Osiric again. As for Ketch: Why? Why is he back? I would have been okay with Mick, but Ketch? No. I avoid spoilers, so that did surprise me. And not in a good way. How convenient that the portal was open just long enough for Lucifer to slip through! I really want Rowena back. She deserved a better ending than the one she got. This episode made me hopeful that we’ll see her again. I liked that Dean was not buying it with Ketch. And it was in character that Sam would be the one who wanted to believe this was a different, not evil Ketch. Obviously Ketch didn’t deserve a hunter’s funeral, but did they really just dump his body last season? I also liked Dean wanting to go with Cas. Cas should have let him. Bad things happen when he goes off alone. Team Free Will is better together. Cas should know that by now. 5 Link to comment

MysteryGuest November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 (edited) It was great to see Kevin, but he looks a lot different to me. Something about his eyes seems different. I couldn't quite figure it out. It could just be that he's older now and just doesn't look like a kid anymore. I'm glad that even in the AU, he's still basically the same guy. I have to say, I did not see the return of Ketch coming. Was he really that popular last season? I for one was glad when they killed him. And I'm sorry, but the bullshit retcon of how he knew Rowena first and had the same magic spell in his leg was almost laugh-out-loud funny. It would be bad enough if Rowena uses the same trick to come back again, but for Ketch to use it is completely ridiculous. What exactly do they need Ketch for anyway? They don't have enough bad guys around with Michael, Lucifer and Evil Colonel Sanders (that line did make me laugh, but please can we have Crowley back)? So the angels are in danger of becoming extinct? How exactly is Jack supposed to re-populate Heaven? This one sure had a lot going on, but none of it was terribly interesting. So looks like Mary once she comes back will have to face him again. We already have Lucifer around, why does the show keep overusing it's villains. A reason I appreciate the first 4 seasons, YED and Lilith stayed dead. Nice to see Kevin back in the AU, I'm hoping he is the first and many other familiar faces show up e.g Abaddon, Rufus, Ellen, Jo etc. I wonder if Rowena is actually alive. She deserves a much better death than the last one, So maybe third times the charm for her to stay dead if she happened to return. We'll see. If they thought they wanted him around again this year, then why even bother to kill him last season? And if they just decided this season to bring him back, the question still stands...why? Just how many bad guys do we need on the board? If Rowena is truly coming back, then the only death from last season that will actually have stuck is Crowley's. Everyone else was either brought back or never really died to begin with. So if that was their intention, then why not let Mark S. have a good send off? ahrtee November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 Um...I guess I didn't hate it as much as others here, but that's probably because I wasn't paying a lot of attention. Honestly, I was sitting here and watching, not doing anything else, and I still apparently missed whole chunks of plot--and there certainly was a lot of it. About what I do remember: 1. Torture porn. I hate it hate it hate it. There was no reason for it, especially spending so much time on it (I think that's one of the times I blanked out...I can't remember anything between Kevin showing up and babbling something about rifts (I think) and Luci winding up back in our world, being mistaken for a homeless person. 2. I did think Dean was being smarter than they've been writing him lately--he's the one who found the case, who identified the "ritual" stuff next to the body, and who figured out that Ketch wasn't a twin (though I think part of that was his refusing to accept it at all and so he was looking for anything to prove it.) He also didn't stuff anything into his mouth or trip over anything, so I count that a win. But they really need a better way to get them to take on cases instead of the same old, "... is in the wind/what are we supposed to do? Just wait around?/We can't do anything about that right now, so I found us a job..." I did come back to consciousness tonight long enough to giggle at that. 3. Way too many villains and no heroes? And in the immortal words of Dean: "No more doornails coming out of that door, is there?" And as others have mentioned already, why those particular doornails? There are so many others I'd rather see. 4. If Ketch is on the run from the BMoL, did I miss why? Because I'd think if they wanted to come back to America and get revenge on someone, it would be the Winchesters, who wiped out their whole crew, instead of one guy whose only offense (I think) was failing to die. I'm hoping I missed something. 5. I honestly couldn't tell demons from angels any more (except for the playground set, which answers the question I asked last week about whether Chuck reopened Heaven's front door so they wouldn't have to keep going through a sandbox.) Wouldn't some kids or their parents call the cops on all those neatly-dressed adults standing around a playground (much less magically appearing/disappearing?) Where the heck is that playground, anyway? 6. An awful lot of stupidity just to get the plot where they want it...Ketch's magic insert thanks to Rowena, Lucifer being all chummy with Cas, Cas being stupid about cellphones (really? If he wanted to call Dean, why not go outside or into the men's room? And why should he be afraid of Luci now that he's powered down? Any why can't anyone find Jack (except, well, plot...)? 7. I think I need a scorecard to figure out who's doing what and why. On the other hand, I don't really care. 10 Link to comment

I mean, considering that ordinary humans on the street could just brush past Lucifer, what was he going to do to Cas? And if Cas knew that Lucifer was weak but was unsure how weak he was, why didn't he push a little to find out? Cas was so passive. If he felt he needed to hear what he had to say, he could have tried to trap him somehow, maybe with holy oil or even physically, called the Winchesters to let them know that Lucifer was back, and THEN chatted with him, instead of joining him at a booth at a nearby bar so they could talk things over. (I'm also wondering why Cas didn't ask about Mary; maybe he didn't know that Mary went with Lucifer into the rift, although it is hard to believe that Dean and Sam would not have mentioned it.) Did I hear Cas tell Lucifer he was sorry about stabbing him? Seriously? I guess the show wants us to view them as a cute couple. And I guess we are supposed to find Lucifer's pride in his son charming? I cannot even express how over Lucifer I am on this show; I have been over him for years, but here he is, still being forced down our throats. I am afraid that AU Michael is going to be another disappointment. I thought the show might do something interesting with him, but he is just one more thug who enjoys torturing and wants to take over the world. Why couldn't they give him some interesting motivations or at least a personality? 17 Link to comment
MysteryGuest November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 As usual, I'll watch the show a 2nd time without commercials and see if my opinion changes. I won't say that I hated it, but I'm not sure I liked it, either. I think mainly I'm confused as to why they're doing what they're doing. They have managed to do one thing that I didn't think was possible after last season. That season was pretty much ruined for me because of all of the Lucifer love. I was praying they'd kill him off, but of course, they didn't. But they've actually found a way to make Lucifer tolerable for me, and that's by giving us someone who's even harder to stomach...Asmodeus. I'm not sure what it is about him...accent, bad acting, white suit, but I have disliked him from the very first scene. And not in an "ooh he's a scary demon and I'm so afraid" kind of way, but in a "this is the worst characterization ever" kind of way. I mourn the loss of Crowley every time he's on the screen. And bringing back Ketch is another head scratcher. So Asmodeus needs an evil henchman? And I know Ketch was a son of a bitch, but is he really supposed to be more evil then actual demons from Hell? And while I'm bitching, since when do the Winchesters just randomly throw dead bodies around? They'd have had a bonfire and toasted marshmallows over Ketch's pyre last season, not just idly dumped him into a creek, or wherever the hell they put him. That was just stupid. I know the BMOL were supposedly sent packing, but there are still regular humans who live on the planet and would encounter said dead body. Why leave any trace of him? I didn't realize this one was directed by Richard. I'm kind of surprised. 5 Link to comment

I'd say they were a little busy, but I'm not sure they were. They seemed to be just sitting around the bunker the next day until they thought of calling Rowena. But, that does raise another weird point. When Bobby decapitated Chet, he buried the body and had Jodie throw the head into the river on her way out of town. Wouldn't it have been smart to burn levi remains. Seems like it would be hard for them to reconstitute from that. One possibility is that they always call burning a human body a "hunter's funeral." They may have felt like Ketch didn't deserve the honor. In Jump the Shark when they were burning Adam's body, dean said something along the lines of that he went out like a hunter, so he deserved a hunter's funeral. Link to comment

Pondlass1 November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 (edited) Too much happening - and none of it making much sense. The NepDuo always crowd out their writing with so much going on. They should stick to one supernatural event and try to write that well instead of packing the episode out with just 'stuff'. These people should be writing for Saturday morning kids' adventure shows, not adult series. And don't get me started on the comings & goings at the bunker - I keep saying they should put a Starbucks in that front lobby for all the visitors. And, Sam... Dean would've checked all cavities for lock picks or at least have shackled Ketch so that he couldn't reach said cavities. And Passive Cas not telling S&D that Luci is out when he had them on the phone.... I mean...wouldn't that be the first thing he'd say? I was yelling with frustration at the stupidity. I don't buy him letting Rowena escape no matter what she gave him...Whatever. Ah, well, Kevin was fun. The thing with Bobby last season didn't really excite me much because he wasn't our Bobby, but he wasn't enough different either. Kevin might be the one thing the Horrible Duo got right. "I'm a vertebrate, neither an annelid nor a nematode." Hee! Oh, and, I knew Rowena was alive--witches who have resurrection spells in their leg are not that easy to kill! 11 hours ago, Jeddah said: I just want to say that Southerners do not sound like Asmodeus. Trust me, y’all. The actor is trying, bless his heart, but that accent just gets worse every time I hear it. To be fair, I don't think he's trying to do an honest-to-Chuck Southern accent, just old fashioned good 'ol boy one. 1 Link to comment
catrox14 November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 (edited) I watched this again. It is stupid no matter what. It's plot plot plot over character and plot plot plot over logic. There are ways to write for plot twists without ignoring continuity, canon, and characterization. The first time I watched I was so aggravated by the episode and Cas being stupid for no good reason again, that I didn't see how really stupid the writing was all the way around but Ketchs rwsureion is idiotic. The best hunters in the world don't do Hunters 101 which is a salt and burn. so it doesn't come bacck as vengeful spirit or a revenant? And considering Ketch was enemy 101 leaving that to chance was fucking stooopid. Why not have Ketch come back as a revenant just to remind them that they still need to do the basics.? /headdesk They didn't have to put Ketch on a damn prye . . Remember when they would dig a grave and then do a slat and burn and bury the cremains ? Didn't they burn Hitler r and the other Nazis? What did they do with all the bodies slaughtered at the BMoL? Did Jody make them disappear? Why didn't they call Jody to dispose of Ketch? Does this mean LadybIhFuckShesProbabkyNotDeadEither shows up or is it only the women who get to stay dead, well besides the one woman who should have stayed dead as in Mary.
