DrSpaceman73 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 Words cannot express how useless Tom Yates is and how uninterested I am in any storyline involving him. I hope he gets killed off at some time. Least interesting character on the show by far. Its like House of Cards is suddenly interrupted by the Lifetime network every time he appears 19 Link to comment

Yes I don't see the appeal either. I think they are going for basically the opposite of Frank, but still, they could find a better character than him. I have never understood his appeal on this show. he is not even that great a speech writer. 2 Link to comment

candle96 June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 Was I supposed to know what Frank was burning at the end of this episode? My memory around this show is not that great, and I was wondering if it was a call back to something I had forgotten. 2 Link to comment

I did a search and the most feasible explanation I found was he was burning part of the effigy from the weird ass boys weekend adventure. I'm confused by the Patricia Clarkson character as well. The last few episodes have been kind of "meh." Hope it picks up. Link to comment
knaankos June 10, 2017 Share June 10, 2017 (edited) Who's this new woman who seemingly knows everything and can speak every language? I don't even remember where she came from, she just appeared out of thin air a few episodes ago. have no idea why anyone would be trusting her. And when did Frank decide that the best way to try and win people over is just to be an intimidating jerk to everyone ? Edited June 11, 2017 by knaankos 3 Link to comment

Its like House of Cards is suddenly interrupted by the Lifetime network every time he appears Absolutely, this character is a total waste of space. A smarmy writer serving as the First Lady's houseboy. There is nothing interesting about him at all and he has nothing interesting to say. His back story is a big 'who cares?'. He can't be gone from the show soon enough. When the episode opened, at first I thought I had clicked on something else by mistake, but when the camera pulled back to show the hooded men I realized they were doing a fictional version of Bohemian Grove. If you have never heard of Bohemian Grove, look it up. It's basically a retreat in Northern California for Iluminatti types, and they do the whole pagan Stonehenge crap just like in this episode. Frank getting the cockpit recording was just way too easy. How did Usher (I'm assuming) get his hands on that? I hate when this show just plot hammers its way to get to its desired outcome (Frank winning the election). Conway conveniently goes ptsd on his flight crew and it's conveniently recorded, and Frank conveniently gets the recording. Okay whatever. 1 Link to comment
Mindthinkr July 3, 2017 Share July 3, 2017 Why isn't Frank, who was shown photographic proof of Tom screwing the WH tour guide, telling Claire?? I thought Frank at least respected her enough to have to conversation or intimidate Tom into stopping his playing around on Claire. Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 Mr. EB knows someone whose father is a member of the Bohemian Club and he said that they don't do that bonfire stuff until the summer. I can't remember how long they said it had been since the election, but at most it's been a few months so it's definitely not summer yet! Jane clearly has an agenda so I don't know why Claire believes anything that she says. A little bit of Petrov goes a long way for me, and I've already seen too much of him this season. Do people really go to that kind of shit? I used to like HoC, then I disliked it a bit. Last season I liked it again. I don't know what is happening now. It is over the top, and the show already is over the top. I don't know if it is because of our dystopian reality, andthe writers just decided that there is no way it can be worse than it already is, or if it is just me tired of it. Also disappointed, and I can't believe I would ever say this, with Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright's performances. Claire is like a robot. Robin lost the nuanced approach. And Kevin is basically a caricature of an already caricatured character (wow, this sentenced came out weird!) 4 Link to comment
Hanahope December 11, 2017 Share December 11, 2017 Seriously wtf? Do rich and powerful men really get together and do this real-life roleplaying stuff? I thought that was reserved for my DnD friends at Comicon. I wasn't sure what the whole point of Frank going to this thing was, until out of the blue he was given the audio recording. What if there hadn't been a recording? Other than the one big speech frank had, it seemed like the rest of the weekend was kindof meh, and its hard to believe frank could really change everyone's mind 180 degrees by one speech. And Will has a pstd moment and suddenly he's not fit to be president according to his vp and campaign manager? And this never manifested itself before? This was really the best the GoP could do? Claire did a very nice job with the Chinese and russians. I also am not sure one can trust Jane, and a bit surprised that Claire (and Frank) are so willing to trust her so quickly. Agreed that Tom is boring, and I see no reason for him, other than to be a cuddle buddy for Claire. Link to comment
