Athena October 16, 2016 Share October 16, 2016 Quote Among the guests on Graham's sofa are ex-One Direction star turned solo artist Niall Horan, who chats and performs his new debut single This Town; five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams, starring in new movie Nocturnal Animals; The Avengers and Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner, appearing with Amy in science-fiction drama Arrival; and comic actor Chris O'Dowd, promoting the movie Mascots. sugarbaker design October 18, 2016 Share October 18, 2016 According to my cable guide, it looks like we're back to 45 minute episodes this Saturday, thanks to Dirk Gently's 75 minute episodes. Alas. Link to comment
califred October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 At least we got a red chair Story and a good one. 4 Link to comment
dubbel zout October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 That is revenge. I'm kind of in awe. I really dislike the 45-minute shows. I wish BBCA would schedule things so we always get an hour. There wasn't nearly enough Chris O'Dowd. 5 Link to comment
califred October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 My husband kept saying he should have done it at the rehearsal dinner instead so as not to actually be married. But yes that was revenge for sure. Link to comment
dubbel zout October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 (edited) I think going through with the wedding makes the whole thing that much more humiliating for the wife. If the husband had done it at the rehearsal dinner, she could chalk it up to cold feet or something. I think the guy who told the story wanted to be flipped, even though he was pleased at the success of the story. Hee. Edited October 23, 2016 by dubbel zout 1 Link to comment

attica October 24, 2016 Share October 24, 2016 As an old, I'm happily unfamiliar with One Direction. I couldn't pick their members out of a lineup if they were wearing giant ID signs. Still, this young Niall person (and hey! I learned that it's pronounced 'Nile', which I hadn't previously known) has lovely skin. I want a Chris O'Dowd of my own. As for the Red Chair story, I am often amazed at the number of people who marry who really hate each other. 1 Link to comment
dusang October 24, 2016 Share October 24, 2016 I haven't seen most of the episode but I've seen the clips of Niall (thanks 1D YouTubers!) and he's so charming!! I don't want to like him but I do. I even loved him referencing Robbie Williams, which lets me build a fantasy world of boy band support groups where they share stories of their wild days. 2 Link to comment

Now you mention it, it occurs to me that that's pretty much the basic plot of 'Moone Boy'.This semi-autobiographical comedy, written by and starring Chris O'Dowd, follows a young boy Martin Moone ( David Rawle ) growing up in rural Ireland. Martin navigates his life with the help of an imaginary friend Sean ( Chris O'Dowd ) , who is a man in his mid-30s, hoping to face the challenges of his eccentric childhood head-on. If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend giving it a try. It's not exactly laugh out loud type comedy but a really cute, charming show. Edited October 24, 2016 by sum 1 Link to comment

peeayebee October 25, 2016 Share October 25, 2016 In that photo, Niall was just barely holding the tip of her high heel. Made me giggle. I was really disappointed when the show ended so early. Forty-five minutes is not long enough. Link to comment
sugarbaker design October 25, 2016 Share October 25, 2016 Good news, according to my cable guide, we're back to 60 minute episodes this Saturday. 4 Link to comment
kat165 October 26, 2016 Share October 26, 2016 I'm with Dubbel, not enough Chris O'Dowd. I would have been happy if he was the only guest and the show was 60 min. It went by too quickly. Of course, I ff the musical number. Amy Adams reminds me so much of Illya Fisher. In my mind/memory they're the same person. Link to comment
fastiller October 26, 2016 Share October 26, 2016 I really enjoy when Graham has other Irish folks on the couch. I feel like I'm watching my cousins in conversation. 2 Link to comment
Ailianna November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 The musical number was actually quite good, and hearing the lyrics made the conversation about all those girls wanting to be who it was about make a LOT more sense. I agree, it was a great couch, and went by too fast. I know they can't, but I wish they skipped the clips from movies so we could see the whole conversation. And I was very worried we would miss the Red Chair--thankfully they let us see the one, although I had the feeling there was at least one other that they cut. 1 Link to comment
Qoass November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 Quote Amy Adams reminds me so much of Illya Fisher. In my mind/memory they're the same person. In that film she was promoting, Nocturnal Animals, Amy Adams is reading a book authored by her ex-husband. The film cuts between her reading and the story being told in the book. In the story part, Isla Fisher plays the wife role. 1 Link to comment
Bruinsfan November 20, 2016 Share November 20, 2016 I missed the show. How did Amy seem to get along with Jeremy Renner? I have the distinct impression that he's a raging asshole in real life, and am curious how much visible effort it took for her to remain bubbly and effusive about working with him. (As contrasted with Henry Cavill, where I get the impression Darren Le Gallo must be an understanding fellow to put up with the huge crush his wife—and daughter, apparently—has on the man.) theatremouse November 21, 2016 Share November 21, 2016 Hopefully more people will chime in for a more rounded view, but I didn't find them either especially cool or warm with each other, just...actors on a chat show. Link to comment
kat165 November 21, 2016 Share November 21, 2016 Me, too, theatremouse. I did not know that they do not get along or that Renner is an asshole. Link to comment
Bruinsfan November 21, 2016 Share November 21, 2016 Oh, I don't know that they didn't get along—it's very possible Amy Adams can get along well with anyone—I was just wondering. But there are plenty of interviews from recent years that show Renner's true colors. (He's also not, IMHO, very good at faking romantic interest in female costars, so I'm curious to see how that plays out for a film where his character is basically the male love interest and not much else.) kat165 November 21, 2016 Share November 21, 2016 The only thing I've seen Renner in is an episode of House. But no, I didn't notice any tension between them, Bruin. Link to comment
