Bosnia & Bedbugs?! -Plaintiff/landlady Jennettah Sokol suing defendant/former tenant Jonathan Arroyo for damage to her home, and an assault.  Landlady accuses former tenant of assault, and animal cruelty.   Defendant says landlady let her cats in his room, and claims wanting the cats out of his room was cruel.

Plaintiff has a Bosnian interpreter.    Defendant moved out and was only in her home for three months.    Plaintiff claims defendant damaged her mattress, flipped it, caused a hole, spilled coffee and juice on the mattress.  Plaintiff claims defendant brought a bedbug infestation into her home.   She also claims defendant hit her on the shoulder blad, but never sought medical attention.  (This happened in Washington, D.C.) 

Plaintiff says when the assault happened, she was trying to save her cat from defendant, when cat was in defendant's room.    Defendant wanted his door closed to keep the cats out of his room.  He says plaintiff's two cats had open access to the house, and says plaintiff demanded the cats have access to the entire house, including defendant's room. 

Defendant has a counterclaim, for attorney's fees for the protective order attempt by plaintiff.   Application for restraining order says defendant stepped on the cat.   On a subsequent restraining order hearing, plaintiff claims defendant assaulted her, and he stepped on the cat.   

Plaintiff is very fluent in English, and claims she needs an interpret in civil court, and JJ's court.   Defendant says restraining order was dropped.  Defendant says his door was open, when he had closed it, he went to close the door, says plaintiff hit the door, and it smacked defendant.   So, defendant called police about plaintif's assault.   Defendant want $900 for attorney fees, security deposit back.  

Defendant gets $900 in attorney fees. Plaintiff ridiculous claims dismissed. 

BMW Bang-Up! -Plaintiff  Jessica Johnson suing defendant/former friend Carley On'Neill for drinking, driving and crashing her BMW while defendant was borrowing the car. Plaintiff wants her $500 deductible, and $2500 more. 

Plaintiff's insurance paid everything on the car, minus the $500 deducible.  She claims defendant offered her $2500 to help her get a new car.  

$500 to plaintiff, and that's all

Criminal Mischief Payback! -Plaintiff/grandmother Janet Gruer suing defendant/her son's friend Kale Trimble for repayment of restitution.   Grandmother was caring for son's two children, for three years.   

This was while plaintiff lived in Missouri, and defendant witness son, had moved to Florida.   When plaintiff's husband was diagnosed with cancer, plaintiff wanted to take the three children to Florida to their father.   

Kale Trimble (no, I'm not kidding, his mother named her kid after a vegetable) doesn't want to tell JJ what crime he committed.   Criminal Mischief (property crime)  is the conviction, and part of plea agreement was the restitution of $11, 806.  Plaintiff paid $3405 remaining on the balance of the restitution.    Defendant witness Matthew Doyle (father of three grandchildren, son of plaintiff) claims he never had custody of his children, that the mother lost custody, and Missouri CPS had custody and placed them with plaintiff. 

Children's father has a ton of stupid excuses for not taking care of his own children. 

$3400 to plaintiff, for Kale's crimes.

OK--one epi had me paying attention.  A mother bought a condo for her 18 year old son. EIGHTEEN YEAR  OLD SON. EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD SON. They lived out of state from each other.

Five years n she evicts her son and sues for damages {duh, what did she expect.} JJ says most of it was pig and what did she expect from an 18 year old. The place way a pig sty, just about all of it just crap an 18 year did--parties, etc.

She sued her son for $5,000, the only thing she gets is for the oven and a mirror closet. Plaintiff keeps interrupting JJ, "But your Honor" at lease 17 times. The kid seemed totally apathetic while the mother puffed and cried..

WELL, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU BUY A CONDO FOR AN 18 YEAR OLD?

Title Jumping Jam?! -Plaintiff /car buyer Christyn Daniels suing defendant/car seller Susan Kast for defrauding her over the sale of a car. Defendant sold car for $2500, and had only bought car for $2000 after three weeks.  Plaintiff says she was unable to register car in her name, because defendant never registered the car in her name.   

Defendant claims she found another car she wanted more than the car in question.   Plaintiff says state of Indiana allows private parties to trasfer cars without registering them in their name, and resell.   Plaintiff claims the last five owners of the car hadn't registered car in their name.   

Defendant claims DMV could have registered the car.   Defendant claims plaintiff had a long list of issues with the car, and broght the car back and left it on defendant's property.   Plaintiff wants her $2500 back.  Defendant claims car had a clean title, and says plaintiff threatened to have defendant charged with title jumping.   (Title jumping is buying and selling a car without registering it in your name, apparently the car in question had been through five different owners, and no one changed the registration, including the defendant).

$2500 to plaintiff.  

Help Me Find My Children! -Plaintiff Andrea Luna sues defendant/ex Jaremy Cox for interest on a loan to pay lawyer fees and restitution. to get partial custody of his children.  Plaintiff has since moved on, and defendant is married now.   Defendant claims his ex-wife left with the kids and it took $3,000 retainer fee for the attorney, and $300 or $400 more for fees.  

Plaintiff gave defendant $5300 total, and it was a loan, defendant made a few payments.   Plaintiff charged this on her credit card, and defendant paid $200 a month, until he remarried.

Plaintiff received $5836 from defendant, but is suing for $900 for interest on the credit card. 

$900 to plaintiff for interest on the loan. 

Drunk or Asleep During Crash?! -Plaintiff/car owner Markesha Bailey suing defendant/unlicensed driver Dominique Clark for damages from defendant driving plaintiff's car.  The litigants, and plaintiff's two kids were in the car, while defendant was driving them in plaintiff's car.   

Plaintiff was sleeping in her car, and says when the accident happened, that she was so upset she couldn't get out of the car.    PLaintiff claims when the accident happened, that defendant wanted to drive off.     The car was a Pontiac G-6.

Plaintiff claims at the time of the accident was when defendant told her that she didn't have a license.  Plaintiff claims defendant went and talked to the driver that hit them, and they were supposed to meet to talk, but the other driver never showed up.  So, plaintiff had defendant drive home, no license, with the two kids in the car (2-year-old twins). 

Defendant claims plaintiff is a liar.   

JJ tells plaintiff to pay for her own car. Plaintiff case dismissed. 

Plaintiff refuses to be on camera in the hall, but walks the wrong way to leave the set. 

 

Mother and Son No More -Plaintiff/mother Barbara Howe  suing defendant/son Blake Howe for repayment of loans to fix his car, and pay his rent. .   Son emancipated himself when he was 13, he's now 27. 

Plaintiff claims son emanciped himself when he was 13, by leaving home for a month, and when police found him, son asked to be emancipated.   Defendant says he stayed at a friend's house for less than a month, he was in juvenile hall for a while, and then he says mother tried to relinquish his parental right.   At 15, a friend's family took him in.  Mother of the Year is whining because part of her dependency allowance for her disability pay went to the people who took defendant in as a 15 year old.   

Defendant had a car accident, totaled his car, and needed another car.   Eventually defendant called brother and sister-in-law for help, and somehow mother found out he needed money.   Plaintiff wired the money to son, and now wants it repaid.  Defendant claims he thought it was a gift.   There is a text from son saying he would pay plaintiff back, so he's sunk.   Son's roommate left town, owing him money, and stealing from him, so he called mother for a $1352 loan.    

Plaintiff says she's so broke she had to file as an indigent in Ocala court.   Older son is estranged from plaintiff also, and she's never met her grandchildren from that son either. 

Plaintiff receives $2352 for her loans.  Defendant should lose plaintiff's number. 

In the hall-terview Mother-of-the-Year says son is cold-hearted.   However, she's the one who tried to sever her parental rights, and was whining about her son getting part of the disability as support with the foster families (that's standard, you can't just dump your kid on the system for Officer Byrd to support).  (Yes, depending on the circumstances, and the specific state, yes it's legal for a teen to be emancipated.   It's the youngest I've ever hear of being emancipated though. 

 A co-worker years ago had a teen that refused to do anything she was required to do, and when the mother said she either acted better or leave, the daughter said she was fine going into foster care.   The counselor said that since the teen was under 18, the mother would have to pay child support to the state until she was 18 and older in some cases.)

Unwed Parents’ Knife Fight? -Plaintiff/ex-girlfriend Taylor Mullen suing defendant/ex-boyfriend Omar Lanier for car damages, and throwing away her cell phone.  

Defendant blames plaintiff for the fight where he tore the inside of her car up with a knife.  The litigants lived together, and were still dating after the car slashing, and phone throwing.

Plaintiff case dismissed. 

 

Jealous Rage Rock Throwing! -Plaintiff Gary Redinger is suing defendant/son's ex-girlfriend Jessica Gonzales for breaking windows on his other home with rocks. 

Plaintiff's witness is his son, Patrick Redinger, who says he saw defendant break the windows on the house plaintiff was letting son and girlfriend use for practice for their band.   

Defendant claims someone told her boyfriend was boinking the upstairs tenant at house owned by plaintiff/father, that was being used for band practice. So, defendant went to the band practice house, and broke the windows with rocks because she was angry.   The woman was a tenant at the house. 

Plaintiff son and defendant actually slept at plaintiff's house, and the band house with the upstairs tenant is a neighboring property.   Jessica/defendant claims she caught boyfriend and tenant in a bedroom, after saying the woman and boyfriend were in separate rooms. 

Plaintiff receives $4820 for his broken windows.

Never Do Business with Family! -Plaintiff Christina Gore suing defendants (Cousin) Asia Gore and boyfriend Chamryn Floyd for tickets, and an accident with the car (boyfriend had accident).  Plaintiff sold her cousin the car for $3,000.  However, defendant Asia only had a learner's permit, and kept the license plate and registration belonging to her cousin/plaintiff.    Car never had insurance, Asia says she got a driver's license right before the court case.   Defendant didn't have a driver's license, but was driving without a license for over a year.   Boyfriend claims he was driving when he rear ended another driver, but claims there was no damage to the other car.  

The defendant boyfriend is paying the  $2,045 for car damages to the driver he hit .   Defendant boyfriend claims he's paying $70 a month to other driver (that will take 30 months).   Defendant had traffic and parking tickets when he was driving the car, including parking in the handicapped space illegally. 

Chamryn claims he'll pay the ticket, and pay the other driver.   Plaintiff says she told defendants about the tickets, including parking in the handicapped space.

How did defendant boyfriend get the car out of impound?  It's not registered to him, he has no insurance.   Plaintiff says car was in impound, and is still there, plaintiff expects defendants to get the car back.   There is no title in plaintiff's possession.   

Defendants say car is gone, it was in impound too long, and was auctioned.  

Defendants will get money for the car, $700 (minus what car rental would have cost).      Plaintiff gets nothing, which is what she deserves.  (I wouldn't have given anyone a penny, they didn't come to court with clean hands). 

$100,000 Profit and Paint Job -Plaintiff Jeffrey Ballantyne suing defendant/ex-wife  Nicole Ballantyne for unpaind rent, and damage to a rental home plaintiff owns.     Defendant had two kids when litigants married, and the litigants stayed married for six years, then divorced.  When the litigants divorced, defendant and her children stayed in the house.

Plaintiff says after the divorce that ex could rent the house for a year, and she moved out.    He repaints the interior of the house every three years, and wants ex to pay for him repainting after defendant moved out. 

After defendant moved out, plaintiff fixed the house up, and sold it. 

Plaintiff wants the last month's rent, but since plaintiff sold the house, JJ tells him he's getting nothing. 

Plaintiff claim dismissed.  JJ doesn't care what defendant's kid wrote all over the walls, it included Star of David, swastikas, and profanity.

Handyman on Holiday? -Plaintiff Melody Kittrell  is suing defendant/handyman Billy Wycoff for making unauthorized charges on her credit card.  Plaintiff says handyman not only bought materials, but had several cash advances for $300 each. 

Plaintiff had hired defendant previously.  On this repair job handyman was working on a rental property owned by plaintiff.   Plaintiff agreed to pay him $2000, Wycoff says she owed him $300 for another job, and $2000 for this one, so $2300.    

There was no written contract, but all verbal.   Wycoff says he did the basic repairs that plaintiff wanted, and she added other jobs on, such as power washing, painting closets, putting up blinds.    

Cash advances add up to $  The dates of the advances coincide with defendant's use of the card.   There is a charge for a power bill, and wine. 

Plaintiff receives $1487

 

Three’s a Crowd! -Plaintiffs Lynette Thompson and Rose Monaghan  defendant/former friend Cynthia Frasier for a plane ticket, TV and cruise expenses.   Rose used points to pay for ticket for defendant.   As always, defendant claims it was a gift. 

$180 was what the plane ticket cost Thompson, in points.   TV was $180 paid for by Thompson.    Defendant claims the TV was only claimed to be $100, but has no proof. 

Plaintiff Thompson gets $360 for the TV and plane tichet.

Plaintiff Monaghan says defendant almost punched her, her case is dismissed

You’ve Got the Wrong Guy! -Plaintiff Ryan Poole suing former girlfriend/defendant Tiffany Gretchen for medical bills as a result of a car accident.   Litigants went camping with another couple, had a case of the munchies, and went to find some food.     All four were driving, the car was rear ended by a truck, car was totaled, and defendant's father who owned the car was reimbursed by insurance.   Defendant witness was injured and also received a settlement.   

Plaintiff is suing because he was injured in the wreck, but defendant didn't put him on the list of injured parties, and he wants his medical bills paid.    

JJ tells plaintiff to sue the truck driver who is responsible for the accident.  

Plaintiff case dismissed.

Break Dad’s Rules? Lose Your Car! -Plaintiff/teen daughter Kadeshia Flowers suing defendant/dad George Flowers for repossessing the car he co-signed on for her.  Plaintiff had to get father to co-sign for the car.  Daughter doesn't think she's paying for the car, and didn't have a loan, but she financed it, and is paying on the car.    Down payment was $1700.   Plaintiff says again she was making payments, but that's not a loan.   

Loan was in defendant's name, he had the credit, work history, and age to qualify.   Car cost $7,000, with $1700 down.   Father repo'd the car about two weeks later, and daughter wants her $1700 back.    

Agreement was plaintiff would drive a stick shift, no tickets (she had a seat belt ticket she admitted to, but father said there were more tickets too) and no one else was allowed to drive the car.   Father says daughter had multiple tickets, daughter's mother was driving it, and she took it out of town, and there was body damage too.   JJ thinks father was unreasonable.  (I think JJ was wrong about everything, daughter agreed to the deal, and before a month was over broke every rule, and was a menace to other drivers.)

Car was repo'd by finance company, or father gave it back to the finance company, so car is gone.   

$1700 to plaintiff.

Mercedes Swap Gone Bad! -Plaintiff Regina Gonzalez suing defendant/former boyfriend for misappropriating her money, and not repairing her car.   The two litigants swapped Mercedes, and plaintiff cliams defendant, her then boyfriend, would work on her car.   A year after the car swap ended, both litigants were still in a relationship, then plaintiff sued defendant.   

JJ will dismiss this, because they were in a relationship, and lawsuit didn't get filed until a year after the swap was cancelled. 

Plaintiff case dismissed. 

Who Scammed Who? -Plaintiff Dustin Bangert suing defendant Roland Duncan for money owed on a truck.  Defendant is counter suing for money owned on a car.  Plaintiff had a truck, defendant had a Buick, and the two traded vehicles. 

The swap was agreed to, but the truck was worth $1500 more than the car.  So, defendant was supposed to pay the plaintiff.    Then, defendant sold the truck instead of paying plaintiff the $1500.  Defendant tells JJ the contract he signed with plaintiff was invalid, and he's full of c*&$.  So, Roland is trying to tell a judge about contracts?   Good luck with that. 

The contract says there are late fees, and if one payment is missed the truck goes back to the plaintiff.    Defendant claims there was a subsequent contract, but since it was signed, then it never went into effect.   

Buick for plaintiff croaked, and was junked.  Defendant sold truck, after he never registered the truck in his name.   Defendant claims he tried to contact and meet with plaintiff to register the truck in his name, but plaintiff never showed up for any meeting.   Plaintiff registered the Buick in his name.  (This was in Montgomery, AL).

Defendant says he sold the truck for parts, after he couldn't register the truck. Defendant didn't miss a payment either, so plaintiff doesn't get the money for the truck.    Plaintiff keeps saying the title was given to the defendant, but defendant says he never received a title for the truck.  

However, plaintiff has a text from defendant saying that he does have the title, plaintiff's mother (that's the name truck was registered in.  Plaintiff or mother didn't sign as lien holder, so he was going to register and insure the truck, and plaintiff was not getting the $1500 owed.  Plaintiff says he signed the title as lien holder. 

Plaintiff receives $1500.  JJ believes plaintiff gave the defendant the title, signed as lien holder. 

The Magic of Loans -Plaintiff  Jill Nichols suing defendant/former boyfriend Paul Erickson for repayment of loans for attorney fees, and to get his motorcycle out of impound. 

Defendant says he never borrowed a penny from plaintiff, she hadn't worked since he's known her.   The two litigants lived together for three years, and defendant was the only one working.    Plaintiff claims she had savings, and money from her divorce, and she paid over $20k from her 401k.    

They finally had to let the bungalow go, and they moved in with his mother to take care of her.   Defendant receives disability for his knees, who need to be replaced.   He was acting as caretaker for his mother,   

Plaintiff claims defendant got cited for a motorcycle encounter with the police, bike was impounded, and she says she paid defendant's attorney fees. Plaintiff claims after defendant sold his jeep he would pay her back, but he didn't, and they lived together for another year after this. 

Defendant says he received a settlement of over $6000, and he paid the attorney with that, and he paid the bills from that and his disability.

Plaintiff case dismissed, no expectation of repayment. 

Boyfriend’s Birthday Bounty -Plaintiff Andrea Deis suing defendant/former friend and roommate Sara Ladd for an unpaid loan to buy her boyfriend a birthday present.  Plaintiff paid back $225, but still owes on the present. 

Defendant's almost stepson visited every other weekend, her boyfriend stayed there too, and defendant's mother lived with them too.    Defendant thought the three (litigants, and boyfriend), should pay for the defendant's mother's share of the rent.    Of course, plaintiff refused to pay for defendant's mother's share of the rent.   Defendant was using the mother's former room for the boyfriend's kid.   I'm wondering if boyfriend paid any rent, or if his girlfriend paid it for him.   

Plaintiff receives $450 for the unpaid loan with interest.  Plaintiff moved out early because defendant made her uncomfortable from working and living with defendant.  She gave two months notice to defendant saying she was moving out. 

Defendant wanted unpaid rent after plaintiff moved out, she wants money from Officer Byrd.   Defendant still lives in the trailer, with boyfriend, his kid, and her brother.  Defendant claim dismissed. 

Roommate Car Keying? -Plaintiff Archi Kaaua suing former landlord/defendant Allen Donikowski for the return of his deposit, and damage from defendant keying his car, $2751.   Defendant denies every touching plaintiff's car.   Defendant has no photo of the damages to plaintiff's room, so that's dismissed. 

Plaintiff receives his security deposit back, $250. 

Plaintiff claims defendant keyed his car, after standing out of his door for a long time.  Plaintiff went out the window of his room to avoid the person standing outside the door.  Plaintiff says he saw defendant between plaintiff's two cars, and that's when he saw the car had been keyed.  

Plaintiff receives $250 for his security deposit, but car damage is dismissed because he has no proof of who keyed his car.

JJ can be a total fool sometimes and this happened here. The daughter broke her agreement on several issues and father was completely within his rights. JJ goes off the rails when the case involves a son or daughter who completely screws over a parent; just because she is a multimillionaire and offspring who negligently cost their parents thousands of dollars, she thinks that every parent is as rich as she is so they should just roll over when their kids screw them.

I remember this case because of the daughter's unbelievable ignorance/stupidity and sense of entitlement and JJ gave her what she wanted. JJ screwed the pooch again because of her perspective as a multimillionaire. I suspect that she wasn't that softhearted with her children.

Battle Over the American Flag! -Plaintiff David Kohalisky suing    defendant/neighbor Ray Szczepanowski objected to plaintiff hanging the American Flag upside down as a protest, plaintiff claims someone damaged his car, and flagpole as an act of vandalism   Caress Kotschike, plaintiff's witness, and neighbor claims to be a witness to the vandalism.    Caress says defendant threatened to take the flag pole down if the plaintiff didn't put the flag right side up.   

Plaintiff's husband says he was attacked three times, harassed and called disparaging names, because he's gay, and says the police do nothing-in a Change dot Org petition from partner. 

Plaintiff was protesting lack of action after someone ran over plaintiff's partner with a golf cart.  Defendant says the flag code says American flag is only to be flown upside down, in combat to surrender, if you don't have a white flag, or in maritime disaster when a ship is in distress.  (This happened in Largo Florida at Down Yonder Mobile Home Park).

Defendant says he never talked to the plaintiff witness, or threatened plaintiff, but talked to the plaintiff's partner.   Defendant wasn't involved in plaintiff's partner's golf cart mangling.   Plaintiff says early in the morning, he found his flag pole was cut down, and pole hit and damaged plaintiff's car.   Plaintiff is suing for the insurance deductible for his car damages.   

Police report says defendant and others said the flag shouldn't be flown upside down, but plaintiff said defendant was the primary suspect.   

Plaintiff can't prove who cut the flag pole down, and caused the car damages. 

Defendant is counter claiming for false charges.   Claim dismissed for police visits.  Defendant shows examples of plaintiff's husband posting nasty allegations against defendant and wife.  Counter claim dismissed, because he should have filed against plaintiff's husband. 

Plaintiff case dismissed. Plaintiff says he sold his home and moved away from the bullies at Down Yonder Mobile Village.   

 

Stolen Vehicle for Sale?! -Plaintiff /car buyer Gregory Freeman   suing defendant/car seller Aguilar for selling a stolen vehicle, for $1800.  Car belonged to defendant's boyfriend, but she was the seller. Defendant says her boyfriend found the car, she paid someone $1,000 in a hospital parking lot at 1 a.m.,  and she sold it.   A week after plaintiff bought car from defendant, car was towed after police found it was stolen.    

Defendant has a 6, 3 and 2 1/2 year old, I guess none are the boyfriend's.   The kids were with their dad, and one with defendant's mom, when the car deal was done at 1 a.m.

Defendant's boyfriend has been jailed at least 3 times. 

$1800 to plaintiff, car was returned to rightful owner.

Honeymoon That Never Happened! -Plaintiff/ former fiance Justin Boraczek Amanda defendant/former fiance Amanda Carlson for a cruise, a new camera and car repairs after their wedding is called off.    Plaintiff paid for car repairs for defendant, during the engagement.  The litigants never lived together.   (This was in Haverhill, Mass.)

Plaintiff made a $200 payment, and still owes $1300.   Plaintiff wants air fare back, that was non-refundable, but everything else was refunded.   The camera was purchased as a 'family' camera, and JJ dismisses that. 

Defendant wants bridal dresses paid for, over $2000. 

Plaintiff receives $1500  for the car repairs. Defendant claim dismissed. 

Senior Sibling Stealing?! -Plaintiff/sister Ynonne Hammer suing her defendant/brother Peter Gallant for pawning her jewelry, accessed her bank account and stealing money, and it was while plaintiff was in rehab.   $800 was the jewelry pawn, and defendant paid his rent with the money.   

Defendant says plaintiff's granddaughter needed money too, but he gave her nothing from the pawned jewelry. Defendant took $400 to pay the amount owed to the pawn shop, so the jewelry wouldn't be sold.   Plaintiff went and paid $800 to get her jewelry back, however brother paid $400 from plaintiff's bank account to keep the pawn active.  So, plaintiff paid $1200 to get her jewelry back. 

Defendant says he suggested to plaintiff to pawn her jewelry to help him pay his lot rent, and to help her granddaughter, but he gave nothing to granddaughter. 

Plaintiff is on social security as her only income.    However, plaintiff sold a former friend her washer and dryer to pay her bills, but sent defendant to get her washer and dryer back.   However, friend paid in full for the appliances, but plaintiff wanted them back anyway. 

Defendant has been trying to get Worker's Comp for almost two years. 

Plaintiff says $2000 fridge was stolen by brother, her washer/dryer, and couch.  Brother stored the appliances, and couch, and claims the fridge was stolen, because it was outside. 

$1200 for jewelry to plaintiff. Plaintiff can pick up her rug and couch from defendant.

I'm about a bazillion epis behind, but I can tell you this after watching a marathon:  many times I have bitched about the small size of our cape cod house. many times. Mr. Cookie and I can't even be in the kitchen without bumping into each other.  However, it is paid off so I won't ever have to either rent a room from or to any other person. The horror stories I've been hearing for the most part make me sick over the greed and/or stupidity of people.

Fight Over Flooding! -Plaintiff/ landlord  Nicole McCoy  is suing defendant/former tenant Sharnique  Williams for house damages from defendant’s 12-year-old son causing a flood in the house.  Plaintiff says when she refinanced the house, and was going to rent it (for a year), she told the insurance company she was renting the house out.     Insurance declined to cover the damages, because she needed landlord insurance, not homeowner’s insurance.  (This was in Austell, GA).

Plaintiff/landlady says tenant had a dog, not allowed in the lease, but later plaintiff gave her permission to have the dog, so that’s dismissed.    Plaintiff says tenant left owing over $200 rent.    Plaintiff did move to evict tenant after a few months of late payments.   Flood happened in September, and plaintiff wants damages for the flood.   Isaiah Andrews, is tenant’s son, who plaintiff says defendant blamed the flood damages on, from him breaking a pipe.

Property manager is plaintiff’s witness, who took the statement from defendant about the flood, where she blamed the  damages on her son.   Son says he was looking under the sink for Ibuprofen for his mom, and that he hit and broke the pipe.    (I think either the makeup bag or something else snagged on a cut off valve under the sink, and son pulled on it, and boom!

Property Manager, Todd Reedy, testifies about taking defendant’s statement about the flood, and what he did to help stop the flood.    JJ doesn’t believe the pipe bursting was anything but an accident, and not Isaiah’s fault. Photos show pipe is broken off.   JJ dismisses everything about the flood, and wants to know what other damages were done.

Defendant wants her $900 deposit back.   JJ doesn't understand that putting a heat pump on emergency heat is very expensive, 4 or 5 times running the heat pump.

$750 to defendant, $200 from security stays with plaintiff.    JJ says plaintiff should have had the right insurance, but defendant didn't have renter's insurance either. 

Police Roommate Skirmish -Plaintiff Ashley Hall suing defendant/former roommate Jennfer Yates  for two month's rent, unpaid credit care charges, and damages to their condo.   Plaintiff is suing for $2800.   

When defendant and her boyfriend/witness Tony had a huge fight, Jennifer asked Ashley to call the cops.    Police came out, and Jennifer moved out.   

Defendant says plaintiff wanted to move her witness/boyfriend Richard, and she moved home to take care of family.   

Plaintiff says there are bounced rent checks, but it was one check written to plaintiff for rent.   Jennifer says Ashley kicked her out, and she doesn't owe two months' rent.  Defendant claims landlord agreed to take her off the apartment lease, but that never happened. So, defendant owes two months' rent to plaintiff. 

Plaintiff and defendant bought a table together, and defendant never paid for her half, and gave the table away to someone else.  Beds were sold too, with defendant's permission. 

Plaintiff and Richard actually moved out of the apartment at the end of the lease, and rented another apartment together.  

$1837 was two months' rent with the bounced check fee.  $632 is due for the furniture

$2469 for plaintiff.

Physical Abuse of the Handicapped?    This cases make me sick,  having someone like the abuser around non-verbal, vulnerable people

Sick Puppy 101 -Why would anyone who kept the puppy, get a full refund?   Also, as JJ pointed out, the parvo vaccine the puppy received would show positive result, but puppy didn't have parvo.   It's common knowledge that you don't abruptly change a dog's food, or it makes them sick.   Plaintiff made every mistake in the book.  I feel sorry for the puppy. 

Child Support Roofing Ruckus? -Plaintiff /grandmother Debra Borges suing defendant /parents of former son-in-law Phillip Harris and wife Kathy Harris  for botching her roofing job.   Plaintiff says roofing job was substandard.  Defendant claims plaintiff changed the job, and it cost him more money, and plaintiff refused to pay more.  (This happened in Crimora, VA) 

Plaintiff had two estimates, $5200, and $5400, and claims defendant would give her a better price, but no estimates or guesstimates for the roofing job.  Plaintiff witness says $2700 was the price from defendants. 

Plaintiff witness is her daughter, Meredith Borges,who was in a relationship with defendants' son, who she has two children with.    Plaintiff decided to hire defendants to do the roof job, and insisted that defendants hire their son, so he could pay child support to plaintiff's daughter for the two grandchildren. 

Plaintiff wants money for another roofer to complete the job. 

Plaintiff spent $6810 was for materials, and the roofing job ($3810 for the labor on the roof), over both other estimates. 

Roof is finished, but has been patched a couple of times.    Plaintiff says the "Facial" boards (Fascia boards), and other things need to be finished properly.  Roofer stripped old roof, facial (facia) boards, gutters put up, and had to redo the facia boards a second time.   

Defendant says there is one day of work left.   Estimate on contract is $4,000 for labor, plus materials.  Why would anyone pay for and have a roofing job that costs so much more than the two estimates? 

Also, plaintiff daughter says she's never seen defendants do roofing, but do concrete jobs, and never saw him do a flooring job either.  Defendant says he primarily does flooring work.   Defendant is counter suing for return of tools and equipment, and unpaid bills on the job. 

Plaintiff says defendant stopped coming, and defendant wanted more money for labor.   Defendant says plaintiff told him to leave her property.  

Defendant says it will cost $300, and finish the job in a day.  

Plaintiff given a choice to either have defendant back for one day work, and JJ will pay defendant $500.   Plaintiff says she doesn't want defendant on her property, so JJ dismisses plaintiff's claims. 

Bad News Gym Partners -Plaintiff/landlord James Nogle suing defendant/former tenant Christina Jobe for house damages to his rental.   Plaintiff says defendant painted graffiti on the house.  Plaintiff buys homes, and defendant needed a home, so he would buy a house for $110k, and defendant would do a rent-to-buy contract. 

Plaintiff has several contracts with defendant.   Rent-to-buy terms, there are pet deposits, down payment check, and all as  required by Wells Fargo.   When defendant moved out, and broke the contract, plaintiff says defendant left damages.   

Plaintiff says the defendant's three sons (teenagers) spray painted graffiti inside the house, and on the brick walls.  Also, plaintiff says defendant kept her dogs in the basement, and that's trashed too.   

Defendant is counter claiming for the value of two checks, and harassment by plaintiff.  Defendant case is dismilled. 

Plaintiff says defendant damaged every wall in the house, ripped a hole in the basement tile for the dryer vent, and her dogs ripped mortar out of the walls. 

$1650 was security deposit, and plaintiff kept that.  He wants $1470 for damages, so JJ dismisses plaintiff's claim for additional damages. 

Hallterview is interesting. Plaintiff says 'harassment' was asking defendant for rent on time, and when the next landlord called him for a reference, he told them the truth. Defendant says she and her sons did no damages to the house .

Emergency Surgery Fallout -Plaintiff Tonya Sanders suing defendant/cousin by marriage Michael Depina for impound fees and lost wages.     Plaintiff shares a store with King's Appliances, and defendant/cousin in law was a delivery driver for King's.   Plaintiff's young son had to have emergency surgery, and she asked defendant to keep her consignment store open, next to King's where defendant worked.    

Defendant was pulled over for running a red light, and had no license, and was driving plaintiff's car.   When car was impounded it required the payment of impound fees, and plus lost wages, adds up to $3148.  Plaintiff has ridden with defendant in the King's Appliance truck.   

Defendant says plaintiff knew he had a restricted license (only allowed him to go to and from work), and says so in his sworn court statement. However, in his testimony to the court, defendant says he never had a license. Defendant had a DUI, and never did anything about it, and still has no license. 

Plaintiff receives $2438 for the impound fees, nothing for lost wages. 

 

Cockroaches and Drug Trafficking?! -PlaintiffLuz Navarro suing defendant/former tenant Leonela Rodriguez for unpaid rent, cleaning fees, and apartment damges.  Plaintiff claims defendant broke the lease, moved out three months early, and owes for damages, cleaning fees, and unpaid rent. 

Defendant says plaintiff evicted her, so she owes nothing.  Plaintiff objected to boyfriend staying over constantly, and the domestic violence between defendant and boyfriend.    JJ says it's more of a constructive eviction, when plaintiff gave defendant a 30-day notice, and told defendant who she could have in the property.    Then, plaintiff shows a video of the disgusting condition of the apartment after defendant left, mold, roaches, everything filthy.   

JJ says defendant can't be sued for rent, because plaintiff told defendant the boyfriend couldn't stay there. 

Rent is dismissed, for constructive eviction.   JJ looks at the damages, with the video of how the house was left.  There are no pictures before move in.   Bathroom is full of mold, holes in the walls, roaches, trash everywhere.  Plaintiff has a clean up bill, and repairs, but the damages on the list aren't all shown on the video. 

Defendant claims she cleans up, and left the house clean.   

$1200 to plaintiff.

Rescued Dog Kills Cat! -Plaintiff Patrick Dawson suing defendant/dog owner Jess Salsman for vet bills, medical bills, and pain and suffering after     Good Samaritan finds a stray dog, thinks it belongs to plaintiff, and plaintiff takes dog in until he can find the owner.    Then dog kills plaintiff’s cat. 

Dog was wandering loose, and a good samaritan brought the dog into plaintiff's house.   Plaintiff saw the dog tag, called the owner, and then dog attacked and killed plaintiff's cat.     Ronny Yoon, is plaintiff's witness who was at plaintiff's party, and called the defendant to pick up the dog.    Defendant says taking dog in was plaintiff's fault and he's not responsible for medical bills, vet bills, or anything else plaintiff is claiming.  

Dog is in the back yard all of the time, with access to the garage.   Defendant claims his gate blew down in Santa Ana winds, so what fool leaves a dog outside on heavy winds.   

Within 30 seconds of the dog being in the house, it cornered the cat, and when plaintiff saw dog in cat's mouth, he hit the dog on the head to get the cat loose.   Cat went to vet, and didn't survive.   

I really dislike defendant's big grin, because he's getting off scot free.  (Dog resembles a friend's dog that was either Jindo, or Shiba Inu, [we're not sure of the exact breeding], and it was vicious with cats.)   

JJ dismisses plaintiff's case, he allowed the dog to stay in his home.   I feel sorry for poor Roscoe the cat.    Defendant obviously doesn't care about his dog killing the cat, and I bet it's not the dog's first victim.    JJ tells defendant a decent person would offer to pay some of the vet bills, but defendant isn't decent.

$500 to plaintiff. 

Grow Up and Pay Up! -Plaintiff Diana Vaysfeld suing defendant/former roommate Austin Cole for an unpaid loan, partial month's rent, and unpaid rent.   Plaintiff made one from her casino winnings, another for a loan shortfall for defendant, and defendant moved out owing more rent.  Defendant works for cash, and pays no taxes.

Plaintiff shows where she got the money, but has no record of loaning money to defendant.  There is an email from defendant, acknowledging the loan, and talking about making payments, and paid $40.  Defendant claims he never sent an email about payments to plaintiffs.   He only paid partial rent one month, and moved out but left his stuff behind for another month. 

Plaintiff receives $2200 for the partial rent, the loan, and rent for another month.

Salvaged Car, Failed Friendship! -Plaintiff /car buyer Tori McDonald suing defendant/car seller Karlie Grant (seller) and Kimbele Grant (mother) for selling her a car for $1900, and then repoing it after car broke down, and plaintiff stopped paying.    Driving from Denver, the car broke down, and defendant had car towed to plaintiff’s home, after it lost power.   

Chase Yoder, is plaintiff’s witness and is a mechanic who worked on defendant’s car.   Plaintiff brought car to Chase, after car threw a rod.  He says over-revving the engine, lack of oil could have cause the car to break down.

Plaintiff called defendant, said it how much it would cost to fix the car, defendants declined to pay for repairs.   Car repairs would cost over $3,000 for a $1900 car.  

This case is confusing, apparently car was loaned to the defendant, then purchased by plaintiff.  Car was salvaged by defendant mother, after they repo’d it.   Salvage yard paid $232, leaving a shortfall of $830 owed by plaintiff.

$868 to defendants for car, nothing for plaintiff.

Sister Drives into a Tree? -Plaintiff/ brother and car owner, Johnny Roberson suing defendant/sister Gaberielle Smarr over car damages, and crashing his car, for $4500.    Sister borrowed car from plaintiff,  and plaintiff claims car was totaled.   However, JJ doubts the entire claim by plaintiff, because there is no police report about the totaled car.  (This happened in Bellville, IL) 

Plaintiff claims he told sister she couldn't have the car that night, because of her bad driving record.  However, plaintiff loaned sister the car a lot of times before.   Plaintiff claims he was going to use his car, so he told sister no, and she grabbed the keys and took his car anyway.  Plaintiff didn't file a police report about his 'stolen' vehicle, and doesn't have a police report about the totaled car either.    Sister claims she didn't cause the accident, but plaintiff's witness took the car while she was at the aunt's house. 

Plaintiff claims he texted the sister, but deleted his texts. 

Plaintiff case dismissed, because it's a total lie. JJ dismisses the case, to take back to a local court to lie to another judge. 

Trouble Money! -Plaintiff /identity theft victimr William Deputy Jr suing defendant /car seller Venancio Herrera  over a car sale.  Plaintiff is the defendant for his time, investigative costs, and identity theft for $5,000. 

Defendant claims someone stole the car and sold it to the plaintiff.   Police recovered the car (This was in Seattle WA).   Defendant claims he bought the car from some lady, and then car was stolen.  Car was sold using plaintiff's name as the buyer, by defendant. 

Plaintiff receives $500. 

Waterfront Property Nightmare -Plaintiffs/property owners John Godenick suing defendant/contractor Brad Martin for breach of contract and fraud for the construction of a new pier.  Plaintiff paid over $5,000 to defendant. 

Defendant claims plaintiff breached the contract and defamed him.   Plaintiff needed a new pier for crabbing.  There is a time to get permits, and completion date.  Defendant claimed he could get permits quickly, but it took months, and there is still another permit outstanding.   No construction on the pier can start until all permits are approved.  This all started over a year before the court case was filmed. 

Defendant is still saying he doesn't have all of the permits, but is suing for breach of contract, and slander.   

Defendant paid for some permit applications. JJ doesn't want to hear 

Plaintiff receives $5,000, minus $215 for permit costs to defenant   It's been over a year, and no pier. 

$5,000 Friend or Foe? -Plaintiff /waitress Kymberle Bridges suing defendant/ former friend and waitress Sarah Hall for nonpayment of a loan to buy a car.  Both litigants are waitresses, and make very little.  Car loan to defendant was $5,000.   As usual, defendant says it wasn’t a loan, but a gift. 

Plaintiff had $5,000 from a settlement from a car accident ($8,000 settlement), and then defendant was loaned $5,000 for the car. 

JJ doesn't believe that the plaintiff took $5,000 out of her $8,000 settlement and gave or loaned it to defendant. 

JJ sends the litigants back to convince a local judge about their ridiculous case (Ft Wayne, IN)

Love is Legally Blind! -Plaintiff Brandi Jones suing defendant/ex-boyfriend  Eric Rene   for an unpaid loan, and for back child support.   Defendant say money was a gift until they broke up, and then plaintiff wanted the money repaid.  Defendant has three children with another woman, and he owes arrearage on child support.  

When defendant reconciled with the ex, the support order was stopped, and until another support order is in place, he’s a deadbeat.   He claims he pays $500 a month voluntarily.

Arrearage is $14k to $15k on child support, including interest.   Support order was only for the oldest child.

Defendant claims he doesn’t know how much plaintiff ‘gifted’ him with.   They settled at $4,000, according to the text message sent by defendant, and he agreed to pay $100 a month.    The dollar amount isn’t mentioned in the text.   Plaintiff says defendant owes $4,000.  Defendant claims he was paying $100 a month, but doesn’t know the total he owes.  (The reference to ‘blind’ in the episode title, is because one of defendant’s many ailments is he was temporarily blind).

Plaintiff won’t get ATM withdrawals, but only from Money grams supported by receipts.  Also, defendant was an authorized user on one of her credit cards, and payments on defendant’s T-Mobile account, and $1616 for payments on his credit card, and one month’s rent.

$2454 to plaintiff.

Intervention or Bullying? -Plaintiffs/former roommates Olivia Barnett and (brother) Adam Barnett suing defendant/former roommate Aadrian McMullen (Aadrian is the correct spelling) for unpaid rent on their apartment.   Plaintiff Olivia says she and brother were upset at defendant’s behavior, including smoking Demon Lettuce on a regular basis. Plaintiffs claim they staged an intervention with defendant, which isn’t a real intervention.   Disabled plaintiff claims defendants were bullying him, but they say it was an intervention.

Defendant says plaintiffs made it so uncomfortable for him to live in the apartment, that it amounts to an eviction.   So, defendant moved out, and says he owes plaintiffs nothing. 

Defendant says the plaintiffs and their parents (by phone), harangued him with critical phone calls.   Defendant says the criticism was over his Weed habit, and criticizing him for being on disability.   

Defendant paid two months' rent after he moved out, but didn't have to. Defendant says he's never smoked Weed in his life, and don't know why the plaintiffs and their parents were convinced he was a Weed smoker.   

Plaintiffs' case dismissed.  

Hoarding or Hating? -Plaintiffs/former tenants Randall Wishart and wife Bonnie Wishart, suing former landlord/defendant Douglas Finstromfor an unlawful eviction, and trashing his possessions.  Plaintiffs, and family lived in the rental house for nine years, then defendant bought the home, and plaintiff claims defendant illegally evicted him and his family, and kept all of their possessions.    The building defendant bought was a commercial space, and upstairs were two apartments, one was occupied by plaintiff and family.

Then plaintiff's phone or pager goes off, pissing off JJ and me. 

This was in Minnesota, where tenant law favors the defendant.   Defendant wanted to renovate the plaintiffs' apartment, and so he gave plaintiff a 30 day notice to vacate his month-to-month tenancy.   Defendant says plaintiff kept the apartment like a garbage dump.  Defendant claims plaintiff said that he would move out by the end of August, but stayed in September, but paid nothing in September. (This was in Kerkhoven, MN) 

Plaintiff claims they only stayed three days in September, but their stuff was there all during September, until defendant cleared the apartment out.  Plaintiff didn't pay the September rent.   JJ says whatever plaintiff left after move out, then it was junk.    Plaintiffs didn't move to Colorado, the way they claimed they would, but moved a block or so away.   

Plaintiffs only packed their stuff in August, didn't move anything out, except some clothing. 

Defendant has photos of the day he took possession of the property.   The plaintiff's apartment is full of literal crap (they had a bunch of birds, that had been moved out before defendant bought the property, but the crap remains).  As usual, plaintiff claims the pictures are of some of his stuff, but it wasn't messed up when he moved out.   

JJ says major furniture should have been stored for plaintiffs, and I disagree.   

JJ claims the plaintiff overstayed his welcome, but she doesn't know if defendant messed the apartment up for the photos.

I guess JJ never saw a hoarders episode.  People do live in squalor.   So, plaintiffs had birds that were moved out before defendant bought the building, but the plaintiffs didn't clean up the bird crap everywhere?  I believe everything the defendant said about the plaintiffs.   I hope the landlord did reno the apartment and get $1,000 a month rent. 

Plaintiff gets $4,000 for their bird crap decorated furniture.   Minus $1,000 for defendant for clean up. 

Eight Children Lockout! -Plaintiffs/former landlords Shandena and Rufus Wright are suing defendant/former tenant Brandy Ware for damages to their rental property.

Defendant says she lived in the house with her husband, and eight kids, for two years.     Plaintiff is a SMMOE (Sainted Married Mother of Eight). Defendant claims the plaintiffs locked her out of the house, illegally evicting her, and her family, and she claims she would have cleaned up more if they wouldn't have locked her out. 

Defendant is counter suing for return of prorated rent.   Defendant claim turned down, because she stayed a month when she didn't pay rent.   Security deposit wasn't returned because lease said defendant had to pay for the last three months, after she moved out early.  Defendant says she couldn't pay the rent anymore.   However, defendant lived in the house for one month, without paying.   Security deposit was $1350 (a months' rent), and $1315, rent.  

Plaintiff is suing for $5,000 damages.  Defendant claims broken kitchen drawers are normal wear-and-tear, from her kids hanging on the drawers.   That's outrageous for defendant to call that 'normal' or " wear and tear'.   The only good thing about landlords coming on JJ show was the show paid the awards.  

Plaintiffs presents photos of damages.  Lots of trash, broken kitchen drawers, and a stove that has never been cleaned.   It cost plaintiffs $145 to haul garbage, $600 for the cleaning service, and rugs were cleaned, and holes patched.   Fixing the draws cost $86, drywall repair $511, holes in the carpet (of course JJ dismisses the carpet hole damages).   Sorry, JJ but holes in the carpet are not 'normal wear-and-tear", and ripping the kitchen drawer fronts off isn't normal either.    

$1152 to plaintiffs for damages, minus the small portion of the security deposit back to defendant, $185.

Teen’s First Car Calamity! -Plaintiffd/buyers Allison Grissom and (mother) Suzanne Grissom are suing defendant /car seller Jordan Shock for selling a truck with damages, and with a lien on it for $3,000.  Car was sold for $5,000, Bill of Sale says $6000.      Buyers found out truck was in the process of being repossessed for the lien. 

Plaintiff Suzanne's husband test drove the truck, but no mechanic inspection was done.  Defendant has a counter claim, saying he told Suzanne about the lien, and the price was discounted because plaintiff Suzanne was supposed to pay off the lien.   

Bill of Sale is altered, and says $6,000.   Suzanne Grissom left original Bill of Sale at home (in Tehachapi, CA).   She also wrote the Bill of Sale, and defendant signed it.  However, Bill of Sale has an addendum saying there is a clean title, and no liens exist.   Defendant says he sold truck for $5500, and Blue Book is $8850 according to Officer Byrd's Blue Book.   So, plaintiffs bought the truck for $3,350 off Blue Book.   Truck was on Craigslist for $6500, sold for $5,000, or $5500.   Defendant claims he told plaintiff and husband about the title loan for $3,000. 

Defendant drove truck about 4 hours to Tehachapi, where husband drove the truck.   Plaintiff Suzanne claims she saw a paid off loan document, from Fast Cash, and claims it had a lien for $3,000.  Plaintiff claims she paid off the lien to keep the truck, and still were under Blue Book price.    Even after paying the $3,000 lien, plus the actual payment price of $5500, the plaintiffs are ahead of the game.    

Defendant is counter claiming for plaintiffs not paying the lien off, and damaging his credit. 

$3,000 for plaintiff to pay for the lien she paid off.   JJ has a text from plaintiff mother to defendant about the lien when she got to DMV.  JJ doesn't think the defendant told plaintiff about the lien.

One Tough Cookie-I don't understand JJ's changing her rulings all of the time, and why she dislikes landlords so much, or anyone who sells and makes a profit.   Without a profit, I doubt landlords would be in the business of renting.  Lots of people can afford to rent, but not pay a mortgage, so they're providing a service to the community.   The difficulty in evictions, or getting money back from deadbeat tenants, are two big reasons I would never be a landlord.

OK @CrazyInAlabama help me out please.  She is so fucking  inconsistent  I want to scream. Sometimes it's "If your toothbrush is there, you were there for the month" {saw several of them this marathon weekend.   Saw "Since you were there for a week, you only have to pay a week".  can't figure it out.

Security--sometimes it's well, you'll get your security back {when the litigant leaves the lease early} when the other tenants leave and they will return your share.  Saw it last week.  Today, litigant got his security when he left early.  

An I missing something?

Coveted Corvette  -Plaintiff /daughter Jade Keys suing defendant/father Eugene Easley for the return of money she paid for a '95 Corvette.  Daughter says father sold her a Corvette, but never gave her the car.  He paid $10k for the car 7 years ago.   Plaintiff has three daughters, and at one time she was going to give guardianship to father for one child for her visits in the summer with defendant.  One child lived with defendant off and on, during several years between 2004 through 2007.   Guardianship is permanent, but hasn't lived with grandfather consistently since 2007.

Plaintiff says the guardianship was to allow father to take her to medical care in an emergency, and it's not permanent according to plaintiff.   Plaintiff paid $1500 for car, with $1,000 owed on the car, a total of $2500.   Defendant says he won't give car to daughter, even if she pays for the car.  JJ tells defendant to either receive the $1,000, or give the money back to plaintiff, $1500.   Defendant has car in court.  Defendant refuses to take the $1,000 from daughter, or give her money back. 

When plaintiff paid the $1500 to defendant, he didn't have the title or Bill of Sale.  Defendant now has the title to the car.   Daughter has the car, and needs the title. 

Defendant told daughter that he sold the car to his girlfriend Kelli, for $8,000. So, defendant wants the car back. 

JJ will pay defendant $1,000, and JJ will craft an order to DMV in Georgia to change the title to plaintiff/d

Salvator Miciotta for crashing her car into a tree.   Defendant as usual doesn't have a license, and he was doing plaintiff a favor, so his citations are her responsibility

Deer in the Headlights -Plaintiff /car owner Chelsea Resch suing defendant/terrible lying driver Salvator Miciotta for crashing her car into a tree.   Defendant as usual doesn't have a license, and he was doing plaintiff a favor, so his citations are her responsibilityfor damages to her car.   Defendant claims a deer ran out in front of him, and he swerved to avoid the deer, and wrecked the car.  

Police report says defendant was speeding, and smart ass Salvator says since police weren't there when the accident happened, that no one can say he was speeding.    Defendant never heard of skid marks I guess?   

Defendant will not give JJ a reason why he doesn't have a license, and he gets snotty with her.  

Plaintiff took out a personal loan for $5,000 for the car, still owes $4113 on the loan.  She borrowed $1,000 from her dad for another car, to pay off the loan.  She didn't have full coverage on the wrecked car, because it was a personal loan there wasn't a finance requirement in the loan.   She learned her lessons, and now has full coverage on the car she's paying on, and driving.  

Plaintiff says defendant borrowed her car, for a brief errand, and wrecked the car. 

$3500 to plaintiff.  She paid $5,000 had use of the car for a year, so $4,000, minus the $500 for junking the car.

Caregiver Catastrophe -Plaintiff Rebecca  Trent and Michael Trent (her significant other) are suing defendant/former tenant Cyd Zandecki and (her foster father) Roger McLennan for harassment, vandalism, and non-payment of rent.    Plaintiff moved into the other side of the duplex, defendant was renting the other side of the duplex, and was asked by defendant to be her caregiver.    Defendant says she gets a state-sponsored caregiver, because she's disabled, but drives her own vehicle, and other routine tasks.   Plaintiff claims defendant owes her $5,000 for vandalism and unpaid caregiver wages.   Wages were $600 a month.   

Plaintiff says she was harassed when she questioned the legitimacy of state aid for former client, the defendant.  Defendant drives a big van, not modified in any way, and does other routine tasks.   Right after plaintiff questioned the need for defendant to have state-sponsored aid, the car vandalism started. After plaintiff found that someone was vandalising her property,  she moved out to another property to live, and Roger McLennan, defendant's foster father moved in. Plaintiff says that Roger McLennan, defendant's father, was supposed to move into the duplex, and buy it through rent-to-own.     

Michael Trent is plaintiff's husband and witness, and the plaintiffs say when they were going to the duplex to get their property, they had a confrontation with defendant.   Plaintiffs went to court for a restraining order against defendant, it was granted for five years.  Defendant didn't show up in court, claims she was lost.  Defendant claims they didn't have a trial, and she missed the hearing. 

Because of the restraining order against Zandecki, she had to move out from the house.    Then, defendant McLennan didn't pay the rent, and defaulted on the lease to own, plaintiff wants 2 months unpaid rent. McLennan claims he didn't have the money to pay the rent.  

Zandecki claims she bought a washer and dryer, and plaintiffs wouldn't let her take the washer and dryer.  Plaintiff claims she had two sets of washers and dryers, and took one with her, and defendant bought the washer and dryer from her, so Zandecki gets the appliances back.  (This was in Centralia, WA)

Agreement was plaintiff would sell a mobile home to defendant for $250 a month, totaled $2500, but defendant doesn't have the mobile home.   

Plaintiff and husband claim where they move to was unknown except to her family, and to defendants.  Then defendant's van started showing up at the reservation they moved to, harassing them, and vandalism started again.  Plaintiff has no proof that defendants vandalized the 10 cars from her father's business. 

Zandecki gets her washer and dryer back from plaintiffs, under police supervision because of the restraining order.  

Plaintiff receives $1,186 from McLennan for unpaid rent.  Everything else dismissed.  (I believe what the plaintiffs said).

Almost Homeless -Plaintiffs/Landlords Raelynn Butzbach and (mother) Cecile Knute are suing former tenant/defendant Madeline Veal for unpaid rent, damage to their home and the unpaid balance on a computer tablet

.    Defendant, husband and three children lived in the home for a week short of two months, plaintiff claims defendant didn't pay the rent. 

Computer/tablet was purchased right after tenant moved in, and want to be paid for the tablet.  Defendant says she left tablet behind in plaintiff's room, and plaintiff says she never saw the tablet after defendant moved out. 

After defendant and family moved out, she sent a nasty text to plaintiffs about the tablet.   Rent was $50 a week, only an oral agreement.  Defendant paid $40 the first week, and nothing after that, and defendant left of her own volition, wasn't evicted.   

Defendant claims she bought food for plaintiff's family and her family.   Plaintiff mother says defendant bought her family's food at McDonalds and Burger King, and only bought food for both families once a week. 

$879 for computer to plaintiffs.     

Fight Over a Lemon! -Plaintiff Shaquita Thomas suing defendant Genea Knight for the return or value of a car, plus towing fees and diagnostic tests.  Plaintiff brokered the sale of the car to defendant, plaintiff's daughter owned the car. 

 When defendant had issues with the car, plaintiff said she would give the full $2,000 back.  However, plaintiff claims defendant said she was happy with the car, and still wanted it.  Car was $2000, and defendant paid in full. 

Defendant wants the unpaid portion of the car payment, taxi fees, and defamation of character.  

JJ points out used cars are 'as is', Plaintiff wants either the car or $1200.    AAA towed the car from defendant's house, to the mechanics shop.  Plaintiff's sister gave defendant $1200, defendant claims $100 is all she gave her.  Car is 13 or 14 years old. 

Defendant's voice is played by plaintiff saying she has $1200 back.  Defendant has the car, and the title.  (This was in Palmdale, CA)

Defendant claim dismissed

Plaintiff receives $1200.

Animal House -Plaintiff Danielle Mariella suing defendant/former boyfriend Adam Boyer for unpaid rent and cost to care for his animals after he abandoned them, for $4,000.   However, plaintiff was let out of the lease, and moved out two months early. 

JJ says plaintiff had no contract to care for defendant's animals, and could have turned them over to animal control. 

Plaintiff case dismissed, because it's bull pucky.

Homeland Security Homeschooling?! (I hate that the plaintiff managed to get $500 for the pool key, and is now on his third case against the defendants/landlords.   By the way, how does someone who works for Homeland Security, under a contract company, work on people's files at home?  That material is privacy act protected, and not to be processed at home, except under certain conditions to preserve privacy and computer security.    I do like that even though JJ beat the defendants up pretty badly, the show pays the judgment to the despicable plaintiffs.

I hope the defendants won their case in Superior Court against the plaintiffs.   )

(I disagree with JJ on the Off-Road case.  The father claiming his daughter was older makes me think she wasn’t supposed to be riding the motorbike.   The look on the daughter’s face when she said how old she was at the time of the accident, and then fumbling around remembering what father told her to say, means to me that they lied.  I don’t see how the ‘ride at your own risk’ rules for the trail mean the plaintiff should have to pay for an accident caused by the daughter speeding and going around a blind curve too fast).

@CrazyInAlabama--I now have 47 fucking episodes to watch, but  I am thinking of deleting them because they are from the 17,18 seasons an I recognize most of them.

I'm waiting for the older episodes to show up.

Starting 4 September, the first two episodes I am supposed (4 to 5 p.m.) to get are 2015-2016, and they haven't been shown in a lot of years.   So, starting Labor Day monday, I'll be recapping episodes again.  The ones I get from 5 to 6 p.m. are 2017-2018, and they've all played in the past two or three years

I was getting suspicious because we were getting recently aired episodes, since June.   I was wondering if the JJ shows were going to be the same ones over and over, but now we'll get some fresh stuff.   I do remember all of them, but they haven't been shown for several years.

Parents Fight Over Imprisoned Daughter (This case still makes me angry.   Why did the father agree the daughter needed a private attorney for getting caught with a dealer weight of drugs in her car?  It wasn’t her first rodeo either, and she apparently has a long history.   I think JJ should have paid the $5k to the deadbeat mother, and the father should never give a penny to the ex or his daughter.  I hope the father learned from losing this case, no money for the daughter ever. However, the father should have known his ex-wife could never repay him, unless her father gave her the money.  ).

JJ comes back with some ancient (2018) cases for us today. Four cases, each with one side of entertainingly annoying litigants versus fairly normal litigants on the other side. For me, these cases were old enough that I could enjoy them again almost as much as the first time around. (I resisted the temptation to look up what I had to say about the cases way back when they first aired because I might get into an argument with myself.)

Case 1: Jet Ski damages: Plaintiffs had good clear before and after pics of the jet skis that they rented to the defendants. Defendants were completely in the wrong, denying the before pics and waffling on how many crashes they had with the jet skis. Their defense was based claiming prior damage (ignoring the clear plaintiff before and after pics) and simultaneously that the jet skis had lots of prior damage and the bumpers just fell off and showed that they had been previously repaired with epoxy. They also were willing to take care of the damage by having their friend order replacement parts, but with no installation or body repairs. The defendant woman was particularly annoying with wild statements and her smirking and laughing, so totally convinced that she was going to win the day.

Case 2: Squatters got the short end of the stick in their ridiculous claims against the former landlord. Their arguments were stupid (JJ actually called one of the plaintiffs “STUPID!”), and they were clearly familiar with the situation and were planning to squat until the new owner gave up and paid them to finally leave (extortion oh my!). The funniest part was the hallterview in which the defendant (prior landlord) admitted that he was willing to let the back rent go as a wash to avoid the mess that the plaintiffs created by suing him; instead the landlord got one month’s rent from each plaintiff (JJ gave them credit for their security deposits which covered one month for each of them) although JJ wouldn’t consider the defendant’s claim for unpaid utilities.

Case 3: Poor dog lost an eye while being boarded in what was clearly negligence by the boarder. The boarder fed his two dogs at the same time in one bowl and they got in a fight, resulting in the loss of an eye. Boarding employee claimed that the dog owner explicitly told them to feed the dogs together in one bowl (sounds unlikely already), but the dog owner brought records from his many previous boardings which showed that he always explicitly tells the boarders to feed them separately. The owner of the boarding place repeatedly talked over JJ and got JJ pretty riled up which was fun to watch, and in the hallterview was still trying to defend herself by asserting that boarding dogs is like letting your kids play soccer, you have to accept risk of injuries. I think the analogy is weak and certainly wouldn’t apply with a dog losing an eye due to clear negligence.

Case 4: Trashed car with a golf club. Defendant admits that she was drunk and furious with her “friend” because the friend apparently has hooked up with a former boyfriend of the golf club monster. I don’t know for sure but I somehow doubt that anyone who could get together with the plaintiff (moderately attractive in personality and appearance) would have hooked up with the defendant who is not attractive and sounds like a complete psycho alcoholic. The defendant pretty much acknowledged all the details of golf club attack (drunk, banging on the door late at night at a house with the lights off and waking everybody up) except for actually hitting the car with a golf club. She couldn’t have done it because she doesn’t golf and doesn’t own a club – trust her on this, she really didn’t do it. Yeah, right.

4 Sept (From today’s shows and at least through next week, at least one hour of shows are old enough reruns that there are no names for litigants, and in several cases haven’t been shown for years.  I’m hoping unlike other cancelled shows, JJ keeps showing.  I guess we’ll find out if our local channels are getting another show instead of JJ.  Unfortunately, today’s first case is about animal abuse.)

Party Pony Abuse?! -Plaintiff Gabriele Bernat suing defendant Terri Young for the return of a pony plaintiff loaned defendant.  Plaintiff says she loaned the pony to defendant, and now refuses to return the pony.  Defendant says plaintiff said she couldn't afford the pony's vet bills, so defendant gave plaintiff $100. 

The next week plaintiff demanded the pony be blanketed in cold weather, housed in a box stall.   Pony and other animals go into a run-in shelter with open stalls.    Defendant says plaintiff kept telling her the proper way to care for the pony, and defendant says plaintiff threatened her over the phone. Defendant is playing the recording of the call.  Plaintiff claims defendant is abusing the pony, and said she was calling the humane society.   Defendant blocked the phone number.   Defendant says Claude and defendant's boyfriend kept spying on her house, and animals.  Defendant says plaintiff hadn't trimmed the pony's hooves in over a year, which is abuse.   Defendant gave pony to a therapy program owner, and pony is doing very well. 

Plaintiff's story is she loaned pony to defendant for a party, but no party ever happened, and it wasn't a loan.  Plaintiff changes her story again, that it was a loan to defendant's kids, and she wanted the pony back.  In her written statement plaintiff said she loaned pony to defendant for a day. 

Plaintiff case dismissed, and pony stays in the therapy program. 

Twitter Friend Payback! -Plaintiff Hanna Blake suing defendant/ex-online ‘friend’ Joshua Nosiri for repayment of loans, and for airline tickets.   Plaintiff knew nothing about defendant before she moved in with him. 

Plaintiff actually loaned defendant money for airline tickets before they ever met.  She sent him $500 for the travel expenses, and had never met him in person (She lives in Vancouver, Canada, and he lives in Atlanta).   

Defendant claims loans were later, $250 each loan.  This was to pay for him to visit her, but instead she visited him, and stayed with him.  Plaintiff stayed with defendant at his place for 10 days, and never asked him for the money back. 

Plaintiff case dismissed. 

 

Lockout Lowdown – Plaintiffs Crystal Woods and Michael McCarthy are suing defendant/former landlord Alicia Asher for return of rent, security deposit, and invasion of privacy.  Defendant didn't return any of the plaintiff's security deposit.   Plaintiffs paid March's rent, but defendant changed the locks. But defendant claims plaintiff changed the locks, and she just changed them back. (This was in Scottsdale, AZ). 

Defendant says plaintiff's abandoned the house, but they had paid up through the end of the month.  $1025 is rent back, which is a constructive eviction, so security deposit is still in question.  Plaintiff's moved out, but left stuff at the house. 

Plaintiffs claim to have left house and yard clean, security was $1,025.  JJ won't even consider the HOA violation about the yard conditions. Defendant shows the damages in the house, but JJ discounts them too.   Lease said no pets, but plaintiff had a cat. 

Defendant was only allowed by tenants to show the house when they were home.  Plaintiffs changed the locks to keep defendant out of the house, preventing her from showing the house to prospective tenants. 

(I dislike this case, the tenants changed the locks, refused to let landlord show the house, and moved out leaving stuff in the house.)

Plaintiffs receive $2,050.  Rent and security back. (Defendant says the case was more brutal than a bad gynecologist visit).

Aunt vs. Niece vs. Meth Possession -Aunt/plaintiff Sheree Staplleton  is suing her Niece/defendant Falon Wright for repayment of loans related to niece’s arrest, and expenses from the arrest for possession of a controlled substance.  Defendant claims the probation fees were paid by plaintiff, and she owes nothing, but they were for defendant's arrests.

Aunt says niece repaid some of the loans for her criminal conviction.  Niece also borrowed money from aunt ($3000, repaid $2000, still owes $1000) for her attorney for a custody case.  Actually, defendant's mother paid the attorney fees, still owes $1100 to attorney.   Defendant did get custody of one of her three children, but all three are with the father. 

Defendant was convicted of possession of a controlled substance (Meth), and hindering, and aunt paid the probation fines.   Defendant never repaid the aunt. $3000 for the probation fees.  The defendant's mother Kim Greenleaf,  says aunt was harassing her daughter Falon for money, and it caused a conflict in the family. So, defendant mother paid the part of the attorney fees.  Custody was at the same time as the meth possession case.    

MOther says her daughter/defendant didn't have to go to court, but had her  5-year-old for a very short time.

Plaintiff receives $4100 from her ungrateful niece.

Postman vs. Large Dog! -Plaintiff / postman  suing defendant/dog owner over an attack by defendant's Boxer.   A mailman says he was attacked by a boxer dog while on private property;  (I missed this one, still having technical difficulties. However, I'm sure plaintiff won.)

World’s Worst Boat Shoppers? -Plaintiff/boat buyers  are suing defendant/boat seller for refund on a boat, after the engine blew.  Buyers of a boat sue the seller when the motor starts smoking before they even get to put it in the water.  

Plaintiffs did get the boat registered, but are suing the used motor didn't work.   New motor would have cost $1800, but there was no guarantee in the contract, so sale was 'as is'. Also, plaintiffs didn't test drive the boat, or have a mechanic evaluate it either.    (Have zero clue who any of the litigants are, because the show started late)

Plaintiffs lose.  In hallterview defendant says if the plaintiffs return the boat, he would do a refund but they won't. 

Ex-Friend Without Benefits! -Plaintiff Nicole Doucette suing defendant /ex-boyfriend Terelle Gunter for unpaid rent, furniture costs,  threats, and harassment.  Defendant says he moved in with a woman just because he needed a place to live.  Defendant says he wasn't romantic with plaintiff.  Defendant wanted furniture, but had bad credit, so plaintiff signed for the furniture.  Defendant wanted an apartment, but really has bad credit, so plaintiff paid for that also.  (This happened in Detroit, MI). 

Plaintiff claims defendant didn't pay a month's rent, even though he was still employed.   Plaintiff has rent receipts for every month, but defendant claims he paid her in cash, but has no proof.    Then, after a couple of months plaintiff found out that defendant was back with his girlfriend, so plaintiff tried to get defendant evicted for non-payment. 

Plaintiff committed fraud, by letting defendant move in without being on the lease.   Defendant didn't pay the property manager in person, because since he wasn't on the lease, he wasn't supposed to be living at the apartment. 

Defendant says he was always with someone else while he was with the plaintiff. Plaintiff thought they were in a romantic relationship.   Defendant says they were just friends.   

Defendant says plaintiff was 'slow' because she thought they were romantic.   After the fight, defendant went back to the apartment and is still living there, so JJ says he's a squatter.    He claims he was illegally evicted, but snuck back. 

Defendant is counter claiming for return of security deposit. His counter claim will be dismissed.   Plaintiff told the furniture company his name, so they're chasing him down. 

Plaintiff receives $ 1700.

Loan Me, Loan Me Not -Plaintiff Tanya Yacina suing defendant/former boyfriend Brian Drummy for unpaid loans to fund a DUI class, and a plane ticket.  The first loan was for the DUI class, and while the litigants were shacked up.   

Then, plaintiff claims that defendant promised to help pay for the airline tickets, but he never paid her back for anything else. 

Plaintiff case dismissed.

The Judge Judy Fence Talk -Plaintiff Francisco Martinez suing defendant Thermuthis Lee,  for harassment, false accusations, surveillance equipment, and  punitive damages.  Defendant bought one piece of property, down the street from defendant.   Plaintiff bought an adjoining property, and found after a survey that the defendant's garage was on his property, and other buildings too.   The wall of the garage was on plaintiff's property.   

Plaintiff wants defendant to pay for the surveillance equipment he had to install to keep defendant from harassing him, harassment.   There were two surveys, both paid for by plaintiff.  Defendant was told the defendant's garage was on plaintiff's property, and the new fence defendant built was on plaintiff's property.    (This happened in Philadelphia)

Plaintiff's brother moved on the property, and brother put up a temporary fence to keep his dogs in, and then defendant put up an illegally high fence on his property.   Garage is on plaintiff's property, and brick.  Then, defendant called animal control, claiming plaintiff brother's dogs were running loose, but they weren't. 

Plaintiff brother wants to put a good fence up, but defendant's garage is over the property line, and defendant refuses to admit her fence is on his property.  The garage is 3 " over the line.  JJ laughs about a fight over 3 " . She wouldn't be laughing or tolerating anyone encroaching over the property.   Many places won't let you sell a small part of a parcel. 

Defendant says she needs a double organ transplant, but can't get it because of harassment from plaintiff.   Plaintiff's brother says he wants to move away from defendant. 

JJ gives defendant $2500 to buy the 3" of property from plaintiff.   Bet the city won't allow that. 

Screaming Ghost Skulls -Plaintiff Lynn Paulson suing defendant Brandon Williams for the return of custom painted motorcycle parts, and return of some parts defendant still has.  Plaintiff will get the bike parts back when he pays for it.   

Plaintiff gets his motorcycle parts back, but has to pay $200 to defendant. 

 

Drama Mama Standoff! -Plaintiff Sandra Morgan suing defendant Rebecca Wojtczak (her daughter's ex boyfriend's mother) for attorney fees  Litigants' daughter and son were in a relationship, and defendant son was arrested for breaking and entering, burglary.  Plaintiff daughter Kara was living with son at defendant's mother.   Plaintiff claims her daughter called her, and said defendant needed money, because defendant's daughter needed bail money, and attorney fees.   

Defendant's son was in frequent contact with the po-po, for bad acts.   Plaintiff and a family friend signed for the bail, $1300.  Defendant claims the charges were two years old.

Defendant says some money was for plaintiff's daughter's child.  

Drama Queen defendant keeps ranting about how awful her son, and plaintiff's daughter are.   Defendant lives off of some 'friend' of hers. 

Defendant claims she gave plaintiff's daughter $400 to give to plaintiff.   Plaintiff is only suing for $1000. Defendant claims plaintiff stalks and harasses her. 

Plaintiff's daughter is in a facility, and waiting for rehab bed.  Defendant's son is in prison. 

Plaintiff case dismissed, no proof. 

Give Back the Engagement Ring! -Plaintiff Tim Buchanan suing defendant Molli Gagliano for an unpaid loan for car repairs, and an engagement ring.   Plaintiff loaned defendant money for car repairs.  Then, defendant gave her an engagement ring (this would have been her third marriage), and she claims the ring was stolen during a move.  JJ doesn't believe it, and neither do I. 

Defendant returned the wedding band, but not the engagement ring.   JJ tells plaintiff that he should put a lien on defendant's car for the ring value, $2,000. 

Plaintiff will put the lien on the defendant's car.

Bloody Barnyard Massacre! -Plaintiffs  Stacey Leonard, Warren Grady Carey Bryants  and  Terry Bryants suing defendant Clark Ellard over the slaughter of their chickens, cattle, goats.   Plaintiffs testify the slaughters happened in December and January, and there were no previous killings until Mr. Ellard's dogs moved in.  Terry lost 4 cows, 4 more injured by having their ears ripped off, and other severe injuries.  Terry saw the dogs mauling the cattle.  

Defendant thinks his dogs wouldn't roam that far, or hurt animals.  Huskies, and German Shepherds are what are owned by defendant. Defendant claims coyotes did the slaughter, not his dogs.  Stacey lost 12 goats over a one month period. 

Defendant's dogs were not fenced at the time of the attacks, but are now confined.  

Terry saw dogs attacking Warren's cattle, and Terry's cattle. Plaintiff Terry went to put two donkeys in the pasture at Warren's, and saw two of defendant's animals killing the cattle.  Terry's son saw the attack too. Terry put two donkeys in his own cow parture, and another plaintiff witness (Stacey's son) saw two more dogs attacking, and followed them back to defendant's place.   

Witnesses for plaintiff are Terry's son, and Stacey's son.  Terry saw a boxer-mix, that defendant's wife was taking care of for someone else.  Defendant claims the boxer was a stray they fed, and claims it belongs to the Bryants. 

Defendant is counter suing for harassment, property damages and slander. 

I don't how JJ can look at the photos on the phone, I can barely look at the poor earless surviving cows.  

Dogs Terry's son saw were defendant's dogs.  Terry went with Carey's son, and identified the attacking animals to the sheriff's deputy. 

Agregate losses of the three defendants are $5,000. 

Defendant just won't shut up about a coyote attack in his county. He also claims the animal control and sheriff's deputy were trespassing when they entered his property, and confronted him about his vicious dog. 

It's obvious that defendant's three dogs packed up, and marauded until the dogs were confined.   Defendant claims plaintiffs killed 4 dogs, but his dogs are still alive.   In the hall-terview, defendant says plaintiffs will die and go to Hell. 

Plaintiffs receive $5,000 to split according to their losses. 

Show Me the Property Damage! -Plaintiff/landlord Timothy Wood suing defendant/former tenant  Michelle Busby for rent, storage fees, and property damage.  Defendant was renting the house for three years, and paid rent until the end.  

Plaintiff put some of defendant's property in storage buildings at his parents house.   Defendant wants her property back, and has five days with a companion to pick up the storage furniture. 

Rent is from when defendant lost her job, and didn't pay full rent for several months.  Plaintiff claims she owed more than $4900 rent.  He says he applied some of her security deposit to unpaid rent. 

JJ doesn't like the photos showing damages.  Plaintiff also had a cat that wasn't allowed in the lease. 

$4900 to plaintiff for unpaid rent, and minus $1100 to defendant. 

Take Care of Me! -Plaintiff Linda Waite suing defendant/boyfriend Thomas Wray for a series of personal loans, and an assault.   Plaintiff is still married to her husband/witness, but they're separated.   Plaintiff shacked up with the defendant, but she's still married. 

Plaintiff claims defendant borrowed money from her, and also assaulted her.  Defendant moved on to a previous girlfriend, who is now the current girlfriend. 

$3850 to plaintiff.
