Peonies are my favorite flowers. We have four bushes in our front yard in east TN. My grandmother in IN grew them in her side garden. She probably had 40 plants. That was my first exposure to them and I still remember her talking to me about how she grew them. She always had them in her house and gave away so many to her neighbors and friends. She said they needed to be treasured while they lasted because they didn't bloom for long. She died when I was 12 years old but to this day, they're my favorites. Sweet flowers and sweet memories of my only grandma.

I currently have 12 plants and I will add more next year when I divide them, some I will give to my son/DIL and some I will add back in to mine. We have an acre that I am surrounding in peonies, I have 1 side left.

Wirewrap, so happy to hear that someone else treasures these flowers as much as I do. I think they're the most beautiful flowers in the whole world. My were fragarant and so beautiful in my yard and cut to bring into my house. Can't wait until next spring when they bloom again!

Oops, meant "mine" instead of "my". I really do need to proofread before I hit "post". Duh.

I do love them and so does my 5 year old grand daughter. We enjoy going from plant to plant, cutting blooms for here and for her to take home.

I adore peonies.  I can't grow them where I live but my parents still live in the midstate so they have some bushes. My brother has backed over one of the bushes for at least 15 years and it still keeps going.

Rio is very cute

Jules losing hair at the front

Could be traction alopecia. Ponytails and extensions will do that to you. I don't know that Jules ever wore extensions, but she did love a tight ponytail.

This forum has been locked until Midnight US Eastern.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a large increase in sniping among posters in this forum, and many reports. We have locked the forum to give everyone a chance to read and absorb the following guidelines:

1. Snark the show, not your fellow posters.

2. It is perfectly fine for someone to have an opinion that's different than yours.

3. A differing opinion should not be a catalyst for vehement disagreement and endless back and forth. State your opinion once, and move on. You can agree to disagree by simply not posting on the subject further.

4. Stop stating opinions and speculation as fact. We rarely know for sure what's going on behind the scenes. Speculation is encouraged, but saying "I think", "in my opinion" or "it's possible that" helps keep things from escalating.

5. If someone's posts annoy you, use the Ignore feature. If someone really crosses a line, report, but do not engage.

6. Don't discuss mod actions in the thread. Please PM us if you have a question or concern - @LISIN, @ONCESANE, @MYA STONE, @AETHERA.

7. This is supposed to be fun. If it's not fun for you, consider changing your approach.

Failure to follow these rules may lead to suspension or banning from the site.
