I would love to see Clinton and Stacy from TLC's What Not to Wear show up to do makeovers for the girls. I could picture them trying to do makeovers on Kelli, Judy, Charlotte and Miss Kitty. I know they did Miss America or Miss USA girls one year. I think it would be a hoot to watch if they do something like this. I would definitely watch the episode.

That would be great .. I have to say I have not seen one makeover from Clinton and Stacy that I did not like .. that show is over right?

The white pants for a flight slayed me, tho I liked the overall look. Don't they realize dirt and germs are everywhere???   I tend to dress comfortably but nice for flights...maxi dresses, jersey knits, but I tend to be an over dresser in general. 

On DY for a sweet 16...I worked in the Yurman buying office when I was at Neiman's and wooo I've got some stories. They used to have quite a few pieces under $300 which isn't too wheels off for a major birthday, at least for a more affluent family.  Especially when accompanied by a car ??

Totally agree on Austin and Houston being more diverse and having a different style sensibility. Houston can get kind of stodgy, lots of Yurman an St. John there. Dallas and the surrounding cities are more diverse than it gets credit for, I think, but it isn't as diverse amongst the middle and upper classes as Houston in particular.  It's one of the reasons I'm always so annoyed with the lack of diversity on the DCC, because there are significant Hispanic and Asian populations here.  I'm also influenced from what I see in the bubble, which is from being in a sorority, attending both TCU and SMU (very little diversity, tons of wealth) and from my work experience. I grew up in Virginia, which was a very different lifestyle.

Anyhoot, my thoughts on Belk. I need to check out their store again, because when it first arrived I didn't think their assortment was any different than Macy's and had weaker private labels. Maybe they've stepped up their game.

Lol they don't actually wear dresses on airplanes. Only for DCC traveling functions. On personal vacations they're like everyone else leggings/uggs/sweatshirts :)

I'm recalling a photo I saw of Amy walking away with 2 or 3 other DCC'S. Shed did not look good directly next to them. It was so obvious that I was (and still am)surprised they'll give her a pass. 

That white diaper is unforgiving. IMO it's unfair they keep her for a body that doesn't look good wearing it, yet weight warn so many others.

I can see what you're saying...I dunno, they just really seem to love her.  She was the one they went on about in the first episode last year, the 'best rookie gaze' during cameos...she never even was mentioned for weight last summer, just KaShara and Holly. It's interesting.  I think they love though that she is so smart and educated, a wonderful dancer and beautiful.  I also don't think her body is that big, the uniform just doesn't do anything for her.  

I agree with you though that it's hard to know how they choose to draw the line on whose figure it just not acceptable.

There are RC and Vets on weight watch currently, but from what I have been told Amy T is not one of them. On another note tonight is projected to be jump split night finally if show group auditions follows the same criteria as last year.

Honestly, I'm glad she's not on weight warning. I think her legs just look a certain way and can't get much smaller. I saw pics of her at Mizzou and with the Knicks and she looked the same. Those teams just have more flattering uniforms. Amy has the whole package dance, looks, and personality-wise.

I have always thought that the reason Amy didn't get in trouble was because she isn't actually out of shape.  She has a bigger frame but she is lean.  There isn't a way to change her shape.

And I agree.  A larger (in shape) frame will get an ok if there is dance skill and a beautiful face.

Honestly, I love that they keep her and think her figure is gorgeous.

her figure is definitely gorgeous for a normal human being... it's just odd because it's not typical "DCC"... I would have thought K+J would have balked at the diaper effect because chica (while not thick) is VERY hippy.  She would be considered hippy for a normal woman much less a DCC one!

I just find it really "unfair" that they let her body shape slide but have cut other women for less.  :(

I get what you're saying but they have let it go for others - Brooke Sorenson comes to mind.  She was also thicker than normal but her personality and dancing skills swung things in her favor.  I also always thought Khandi Harris was "thick" for DCC but her dancing was great.

I like the diversity in body types even though I believe the curvier girls have to be prettier and better dancers than the skinnier ones.  Also, those thick girls better not even THINK of showing up with an extra ounce on them.

I adore Kandi Harris. Yes, she may not have the typical skinny, boyish figure the majority of the DCCs have, but she is cute and adorable and can dance. I was disappointed Katie S. and Grace Lee Sells did not make the team, but it is the DCC loss. I thought both girls look and dance better than a few veterans.

I thought if a veteran came in with weight gain, they would be shown the door at finals. Of course, this may the drama certain people behind the scenes want to keep the viewers interested in the show.

Houston has a large wealthy population of foreigners with great style. Some of my Persian friends amaze me with their style- and these are moms like me!!!!

 

I've lived in the bubble too... Definitely not much diversity there but those Highland Park moms sure can dress!

I've see on previous seasons that some of these girls go in and have never actually done the "jump split" how common is it that? Do they teach them in TC, or are they expected to already know how to do it?

I also loved Khandi.  I was less upset about Grace since she was soft as opposed to a big frame but lean.  Also, she was working out with Jay on the show and still didn't firm up.

She really seems to have the whole package.  Amy's kicks also don't jump out at me as low, like Taylor's did last year.  The tall blonde next to Tessa has WOW kicks.  Her standing leg is totally flat and she still is kicking to her nose!!

This must be so stinking boring for the veterans. I wonder how much of their rehearsals are same old same old.

I wonder who that is sitting between Kelli and Judy.

Also, this is not related to those photos, but I've never heard of a professional cheer team where the director/choreographer wasn't there for most rehearsals, if not ALL rehearsals. Granted, the DCC are the only team that rehearse 5-6 days a week, but it seems so strange to me that they pride themselves on being the best, but their leaders aren't there for the long, boring, grueling bits. And there are two of them - they have a Director AND a Choreographer, and most nights, neither one of them is there. They don't even alternate. I do not understand.

 

I bet whenever K&J ride off into the sunset, whoever replaces there will be there every single day.

The tall blonde is Bethany. Kyndall, Milan, Maggie, and Jessika seem to have very pretty kicks as well. Madeline, Kelsey, Amy, and Selina seem to have either poor flexibility or bad technique or both. Also I was told that Cersten will be passing on being considered for Show Group and is simply doing the combo and other required elements like the other girls.

Bethany has actually been given a lot of praise and recognition throughout training camp. Kelli and Judy love her figure, kicks, and technique. I was told that she was told by Kelli at fittings that she had the "perfect body for the uniform...wow". Also with the loss of veteran Holly, Caila, Kenzi, and Jacie they lost most of the middle of the kick line. IMO Bethany would be a 50 yard line girl with Megan.

Truthfully I'm not fully on board the Cersten train. I do believe shes pretty and obviously smart, but I've witnessed and heard shes not the most polite person in TC. One of those "I'm good and I know I am" types of people. Hopefully her mouth and attitude don't get her cut from camp.

I look forward to seeing more of Bethany then in pictures and whatnot! :) I don't want to make judgments when I saw only a few pics.  She just seemed to have a very round face (I also have one!!) and I know they tend to not photograph well and make one look heavier than they are.  But if her figure is that great than that is wonderful! they do need some pretty talented girls on the 50 yd line. 

Maybe that is a good thing that Cersten is passing on SG then.  Have they ever cut someone who won a Barbie??

A flexed foot is easier to fix than a low kick and flexibility issues. Also in the boots is hard to point that tight anyway.

Then that is weird that they push so much for pointed feet during TC...didn't they call Kyndall out for her flexed feet last year? And she made an excuse about never dancing in tennis shoes so it was hard for her? I could be mis-remembering that lol
