Ditto. You uncle is the Royal FUBAR of Douchecanoes. On the other hand, your cousin is a dolt. If your cousin won't wear a mask with your grandfather, make sure your grandfather wears a mask and keeps six feet away from her. Once your cousin has left left, clean and disinfect the area, and have your grandfather wash up. Sadly, your cousin and uncle have little concern for your grandfather's health or the safety of others, so you must be vigilant to protect him and yourself. I am sorry you're in this position with your family. Whatever their reasons are (lazy, selfish, greedy, ignorant, pigheaded, vindictive, etc) isn't important. What is important is keeping you and your grandfather safe and healthy. Carry on, jewel. 11 Link to comment

Cupid Stunt May 9, 2020 Share May 9, 2020 I've been sent on a mission: Corporate had a slew of radio station licenses transferred from a media corporation (who will remain nameless) in desperate need of cash; they had no operations plan for an economic catastrophe like a pandemic. I spent the day directing my station managers in the take over, changing music lists and bringing on new talent to introduce the new moderately insane regime to listeners. I hired a media company to manage incoming calls and online traffic until we have the new stations on our system; the techs are wetting their pants in joy for a large project and are working overtime. I sent Emails to radio talent I've wanted to hire, but didn't have the right programming for them; I got 12 positive responses, 4 on the fence, hired 5 and off to HR they will go. I contacted my favorite broadcasting schools, asking for resumes and demo tapes -- From what I've heard so far I'm going to need a new roster of radio talent. Advertising is buying billboards/posters/print/internet ads on the new regime (starting today), and is all over their customer list. Making calls, doing deals, lying through their teeth … Goddess Kali guide them to the land of milk and honey … Bless their craven little hearts, they are so excited! I'll be interviewing the old employees Saturday and Sunday to decide if we'll be keeping them on. By Monday, discussing with my managers, I should have a working list of how many people need hiring. Busy, busy, busy ... 13 Link to comment

I would guess this is the expected response from your uncle when confronted with bad manners or selfish behavior on his part. It's his go-it reaction -- Brush aside his offense, loudly announces his small charitable acts, and shines a brighter light on your insecurities and failures. The reason he manipulates you (and I suspect everyone else) is because he knows it works. He's treating the house as if the property is already in his possession, and using your grandfather's good will as if it doesn't matter how rude and abusively he behaves. It's easy for me to say ignore your uncle's emotional manipulation for future personal gain, but your main concern is for your grandfather's health. Explain and demonstrate clean practices at home to protect your grandfather. And try to keep your antipathy toward your uncle's attitude and behavior to a minimum. The only person you can control is yourself. By being civil and not taking the bait when he deliberately antagonizes you will upset him more. He will escalate, and you should remove yourself without response. Know your uncle will continue to push your buttons and ladle on the guilt; it is his only tool to control you. Protect and care for your grandfather first. Edited May 9, 2020 by Cupid Stunt 12 Link to comment

So I thought Toy Boy could be a fun palate cleanser. Which it was. It is pretty much a Spanish prime time soap opera, set in Costa del Sol. It revolves around a couple of wealthy families and a male stripper and his female lawyer. There is A LOT of eye candy featuring the group of male strippers and their performances at a club owned by one of them. But it also gets dark in some ways, and has some twisty turny things that happen before the series is over. I really enjoyed it and wanted to recommend it! 10 Link to comment

Cupid Stunt May 12, 2020 Share May 12, 2020 Emailed my retention recommendations to HR. 21 of the 40. I have to hire 30+ for the new regime. Office management, techs, engineers and building maintenance made their recommendations; painting, carpeting, social distancing in reception and public areas, new breakroom facilities, furniture and partitions, equipment upgrades, organize and build music library, new computer system throughout (some departments still work off of paper then transfer to digital). Tonight, listening to talent demos and sorting through resumes for engineers and producers. Mother's Day -- Mother-in-Law Stunt has been diagnosed with The Corona; she's feverish and uncomfortable. FIL tested clear and is staying in the guestroom. They hired a private nursing service. MIL sat wrapped in blankets in the sun while a cleaning service disinfected/fumigated her room and bathroom (and the entire house), and installed a pass-through doorway, separating her room from the rest of the home. <sigh> While I was interviewing, Mr. Stunt and the Thing's brought lunch and golfed with Nana Stunt for the day. They made my favorite meal: Asian sea bass, with sticky rice, dressed greens and strawberry pie. No dishes and the kitchen floor was washed. Happy Mother's Day! 7 Link to comment
